Very nice guide tried hard to make me happy taken good pictures told a lot of city history we had a metro ride and tuk tuk was so nice

I wanted to see Delhi by night but as a female solo traveller I didn’t feel safe to do so, so I booked this tour and I’m so glad I did! Not only do you get to see Delhi at night but it really focuses on the religious parts of the culture, visiting a Hindu and Sikh temple and learning about the religions and the history. Salman had so much knowledge and was clearly passionate about the culture and history and it was great to learn from him. A highlight of the evening was visiting the Bangla Shahib Gurdwara and getting to volunteer in their kitchen. Though it’s a group tour I was the only one booked on and Salman was a great guide, I was quite concerned about getting back to my hotel which was down a (dodgy looking) alley so Salman offered to come with me to ensure I got back safe which I was really appreciate of. I would highly recommend this tour and the company that runs it - learning about their community activities has also been great and it’s good to feel you’re supporting a good cause!

I had an incredible experience with Delhi by Locals, exploring Delhi by night. Despite having lived in Delhi, I had never had the opportunity to learn deeply about places like CP and the Hanuman temple, places I have passed by so often. I particularly loved visiting Bangla Sahib, serving people in the community dining space, and learning about the history of Sikhism under a twilight sky. Walking by the majestic India Gate lit up against the night sky was also a special experience. Overall, would highly recommend!

After two years I've returned to New Delhi and it there was not a single doubt that we would book again with Delhi by Locals. It was like coming back to family & friends! This time we did a little sightseeing tour, Old Delhi incl. food tour, all tailored to our individual needs. Everything worked out perfectly again - anyways that was not a surprise at all! Pradeep and his wonderful team took wonderful care of us and allowed us insights we would have not gotten otherwise - food, insights to local life (we also did the Sanjay colony slum tour) and a glimpse to Indian society. As we unfortunately had to leave a little earlier, Delhi by Locals took care of cancellations and really helped us out. Everything was super great, thank you so much, dear Delhi by Locals!!!

Met Salman at Connaught Place which was bustling, however watch for 'students willing to help' as you make your way to Gate 8 of the Metro. We had a most enjoyable evening walkwith Salman who was very engaging. We were 2 blondes (mother and daughter) but were not bothered once we were with him. Enjoyed the tuc tuc rides and the char and snacks. It was Ghandi day so park was shut early but we still saw an impressive Gate lit up in the Indian Flag colours. I would recommend booking this excursion from home with DBLs as they are helping directly those in need. Thank you Salman.

After 3 days touring Delhi in a large group in a coach, we jumped at the chance of seeing the real Delhi and chose the right company to open up our vistas. We travelled by Metro to Old Delhi where we took several rickshaws to whisk us to various eateries serving delicious sweet and savoury food. Most establishments were very popular with local people who were welcoming and hospitable. Our guide was friendly and informative, giving us his fascinating insight into Indian culture, food and politics. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, arranged for us at the last moment, and would recommend to anyone who wants to spend their free time in this vibrant society. An excellent company which gives back to the underprivileged too.

This was my first trip to India visiting from Australia with my daughter. We were after a unique experience rather than the usual tourist traps... We decided on using the services of Pradeep's (Director) Delhi by Locals (DBL) who developed has developed hands on Indian walking style tours taking you into the local perspective of the city. We were accompanied by Pradeep and another guide on the night tour. They were attentive to our needs and great company throughout the tour. Nothing was too big an ask and the fact that this tour assists local community with empowerment programs really made us feel like we were giving back. We were totally impressed by the values and professionalism of DBL.

My daughters and I were arriving after 6pm into Dehli and staying for only one night so I reached out to Delhi by Locals to see if they would arrange a tour for us. It was perfect! Pradeep met us at the airport, took us by the metro to Old Town Delhi, walked us thru the crazy markets, onto the India Gate, Parliment, and a Shik temple. Super fun, great guides and so easy to hang out with. Would have never been able to adventure into Delhi at night without a guide and Pradeep was awesome. The night tour is a fun and a way to explore Delhi at night. The guides are very nice and they looked after me while explaining me Delhi’s culture.

When my wife and I decided to travel to India for our first trip, we sort a unique experience rather the usual on offer. Quite mindful of the various operators available we settled with Pradeep's (Director) Delhi by Locals (DBL), who developed a custom itinerary from our wish list. Communication over email was prompt. We suggested part deposit on arrival which was accepted. On arrival at New Delhi Airport we were greeted by energetic Mr Chandar with a bouquet and water despite waiting an hour. We were accompanied by both Chandar and Pradeep on the night tour. They were both very attentive to our needs throughout the tour. Nothing was too big an ask, including exchanging foreign currency in the middle of the night. Next morning we left New Delhi and continued our North India trip arranged by DBL. Pradeep had arranged a variety of accommodation from homestays to lux, exactly as we had requested. Pradeep would call each night to check and throw a joke or two.. We finished our North India tour by DBL and went our separate ways. Well you would think typically that's the end of the relationship; Pradeep continued to keep in touch and offered assistance thru south India. We were also impressed by their values as DBL support local community, by donating part of their profit to educate young kids. Good communication, trustworthy and professional. We meet Delhi by Locals as Clients, and left as friends.

When we first met Pradeep we felt very relaxed and by the end of the tour we felt like we had made a friend. He showed us excellent sights around the city and shared his knowledge of all with us. We were also joined by Gaurav who was very friendly and made sure we had a fun time, we felt like we were out with friends. Delhi by Locals is an absolute must for everyone who enjoys a good story in the company of locals who are generous, knowledgeable, funny, courteous and quite streetwise. We were a family of 4 and did the Night Tour and the Old Delhi Tour. The temples and colourful markets were truly an intense experience. If we had had the time, we would have done all the tours! Especially the tour to the Sanjay Colony is the first thing on our list for our next trip to Delhi. Pradeep runs Delhi by Locals with deep respect for the art of treating curious guests by gently challenging his group in the tumultuous daily life of a megacity and still keeping you safe at all times, explaining everything with great patience, humor and true love for his city. I did two tours with Pradeep, who is the founder of this tour company, a great guide and a great human being. The slum walk is very educational while not overwhelming to most foreigners, as it shows a difficult but hopefully picture of people's life in this region. Plus, Pradeep also runs an NGO that provide useful training such as English and computer to local youth. Part of the profit of the tours goes to that NGO - and the price is very reasonable even by Indian standards. The night tour is also very well organized and informative, as well as fun. We toured two temples and the India gate. The temple that runs a large free dining hall is especially impressive, as people are eating while we paid the visit. Hard to imagine a more organized and sustained private effort to benefit people without religious and ethnic borders. Overall I would highly recommend all tours run by this company.
