We had a wonderful day exploring our hand picked monuments of Delhi. Our guide and driver Balwinder Singh was excellent. He was kind, knowledgeable and extremely flexible in adjusting our itinerary to our requests. We couldn't have imagined a better experience than what he delivered.

Our first destination is The Qutub Minar, a remarkable structure. Inspired by the Minaret of Jam in present day Afghanistan, Qutub-ud-din Aibak built the Qutub Minar to celebrate his King, Mohammad Ghori’s victory over Prithviraj Chouhan. Qutub-ud-din Aibak was a Viceroy when the construction commenced in 1199. In a remarkable turn of events, during the course of the construction he became the first Emperor of the Slave dynasty. The Qutub Minar was completed by Iltutmish in 1236.
The Iron Pillar is a mysterious phenomenon. Built 1600 years back through forge welding, this 24 feet pillar weights 6 tons and is made of 98% wrought iron. The biggest mystery about this pillar that over a Millenia it has escaped rust. There is only a tiny amount of rust despite the pillar witnessing the ravages of time. The purpose of the pillar is also a mystery with some believing it to be a flag staff for the King, while others say it was a sun dial. Some even believe it was originally in Madhya Pradesh and someone moved it to Delhi a thousand years ago!
Bangla Sahib is one of the most important place of worship for Sikhs. The 8th Sikh Guru, Har Kishan, had stayed here when it was the guest of Raja Jai Singh of Amber. In 1664, the Guru took care of victims of small pox and cholera in this bungalow. He too eventually became a victim of the disease and passed into the ages. Today, Bangla Sahib is on of the most popular places of worship in India.
Akshardham is the world’s largest comprehensive Hindu temple. This marvel of modern temple architecture has more than 20000 sculptures chiseled out of pale red sandstone. The concept of this temple was evolved, inspired and developed by Pramukh Swamiji Maharaj, the present head of Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha. Often called as the spiritual cultural centre of Delhi, Akshardham was built by 7000 volunteers and 3000 artisans.

Hari is an Excellent tour guide. All the previous communication to the tour was very easy. He was on time to pick Me Up and the car was very comfortable and clean. He had water bottles for me. The tour was Very interesting and he has a lot of knowledge. Overall great experience
My full day tour with Balwinder was excellent!! The day started off on time and the car was like new, comfortable, and with plenty of a/c. Both he and my local guide were so informative and accommodating. I learned a lot about local history, customs, and religions. The lunch stop was very tasty (and was included in the price). I appreciated that when we stopped at the handicrafts shop, they made sure that I did not feel pressured to buy if I did not want to. As a female solo traveler, I felt very safe. I highly recommend this tour for an in-depth tour of the major sights!
Our experience in New Delhi was fantastic. 5 Senses Tours was meticulous and attentive to every detail, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience. Our guide, Shiva, was truly exceptional—his deep knowledge of history and spirituality was both insightful and inspiring. He brought every site to life with fascinating stories and a profound understanding that made our journey even more meaningful. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore New Delhi in the best possible way
The organization was good, I didn't book myself so don't know how it went but the car and the guide came on time, no problems. I was expecting a long explanation about Delhi history or something, but luckily the guide only explained the necessary at the places where we went (I really prefer it that way), but was always happy to answer questions if we had any. I think for a European, the old Delhi is probably more interesting to see, but since I had already seen that part, I chose this tour. The highlight was the hindu temple and the fountain/water show. I guess it depends a lot on the guide as well; ours was good an correct, no complaints.
Very good experience visiting New Delhi, organized by 5 senses tour, with a very helpful and dedicated guide, Mr. Baldwinder who took us in the most important places, being pacient with us, and showing us the beauty of New Delhi.
This is the second time I have had Balwinder as a driver/guide. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. We usually have an idea of where we want to eat and shop and he is always accommodating. In Delhi we visited the Hindu temple complex and the Sikh temple. I enjoy learning about other religions and enjoyed watching families at the temples. Thanks Balwinder! I am sure that I will see you again as I continue to explore India.
We had a very good driver & guide. Plus, he was patient & kind. Very enthusiastic & great photographer. He is v knowledgeable as well. He made our visit so much better !!
We had an absolutely amazing experience during our full-day city tour of Delhi with our guide and driver, Balwinder. He was incredibly mild-mannered, making us feel comfortable right from the start. Balwinder was accommodating to all our requests and even went above and beyond by offering thoughtful suggestions for food and attractions when we couldn't decide. Safety is a top priority for us when traveling, and Balwinder delivered—he's an exceptionally safe driver. We felt secure and comfortable as we traveled between destinations, which allowed us to fully enjoy the day's adventures without any worries. A delightful bonus? Balwinder's impressive photography skills! It's like having a personal photographer by your side, capturing beautiful memories of the places we visited. His keen eye and talent really added a special touch to our trip. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Delhi in comfort, style, and with an exceptional guide like Balwinder!
I had a wonderful day with Balwinder touring Delhi. Balwinder went out of his way to fulfil my desire to commemorate my return to Delhi after 50 years. I also used Five Senses Tours to visit other cities in India and I recommend them without hesitation
An amazing day in Delhi! The buildings were astonishing and Balwinder my guide brought them to life with his historical knowledge. We also had some delicious food at Akshardham. I am grateful also to Balwinder for helping me take some great photos to remember the experience by. Many thanks!
We had a fantastic tour! The sights were amazing and our guide was super helpful! Would highly recommend for those traveling for business or pleasure.
Great service and guides. Really enjoyed our transportation as well as the lunch. The various temples and tombs were breathtaking. Would highly recommend.
We spent two excellent days exploring Delhi with Balwinder, one of 5 Senses’ excellent cultural ambassadors. At our request the company booked some very special experiences for us—a visit to a traditional “kusti” wrestling school and a “city walk” focusing on services being provided to street children by an NGO called Salaam Baalak Trust and led by a young woman who had benefited from the program since she was abandoned by her parents at age six, and who was now in the running for a scholarship to study in the US. Quite a success story! We also did some “normal” tourism—Qutub Minar and Chandni Chowk. This was our second tour with 5 Senses—in 2020 they hosted us for three weeks in the South. It is a highly recommended operation.
We really enjoyed this tour taking in some of Delhi's awesome sights. You'll want to start early to avoid the traffic which gets really heavy in the afternoon and be ready to adapt your itinerary to avoid the traffic as the need arises. We were picked up at 8:30am from our hotel and went straight to the Qutub Minar complex which also houses the Tomb of Iltutmish and the Iron Pillar. The guide was very informative and added the right amount of information without overloading us. We had previously visited the sight 15 years ago and were pleased to see that the brightly coloured green parrots still nest in the Tomb of Iltutmish which makes great photos. The Iron Pillar is fascinating as it is so pure (98% purity) that it has never rusted and we can't achieve this level of purity with all of our modern technology... how did they do it? The next stop was at the Humayun Mausoleum which is a striking geometric building in massive grounds. When the water features are working again it will be even more impressive. You are struck by how much space and tranquility there is here outside of all of the maddening street traffic. The next stop was Aksardham which was simply amazing. Unfortunately, you cannot take a camera inside but this is the highlight of the tour. It's jaw dropping amazing and quite incredible that the ornately hand-carved stone temple has been built without structural steel within five years by 11,000 artisans and volunteers. Simply amazing and you could spend a week here taking it all in. After Aksardham we were due to see a couple of other sights and India Gate but as the traffic on New Year's Day was something else and after driving by one of the other temples and seeing a massive queue we asked our driver to drop us off near India Gate and we walked through the park which felt like over a million people had come here to celebrate New Year's Day and on to our hotel. A really enjoyable tour with a driver and guide that allow you to see double what you could do on your own as they know all of the tricks of the trade at each of the sights. Highly recommended.
An exceptional day in Delhi thanks to a perfectly organized guided tour! Excellent driver and private guide, with clear and exciting explanations. The choice of visits was very well thought out, allowing to discover the essentials of the city in one day. Special mention for the meal, just delicious. An experience I recommend without hesitation!
After taking a day tour of Old Delhi, we decided to do the one of New Delhi as well as we enjoyed it very much, especially with the driver Balwinder. We visited the main monuments and adapted the tour to our needs. The Guide was detailed and precise, making us beautiful photos. In the end we were escorted to the airport. Everything is perfect. Recommendation.
