Evening Food Tour

We had a great tour with Salman and Khushboo. We did the Old Dehli Food tour and we had a great time. All the food was delicious, both Salman and Khushboo were lovely, knowledgeable, and professional. We were able go accommodate our dietary requirements (vegetarian) and took us places we would never have found ourselves. We alao felt the tour was very safe and well organised, things ran on time and they even provided us with umbrellas, we were also helped to cross roads ans stay as a group. Overall one our favourite experiences on our holiday!

Great experience, pace yourself with the food or you will fill up too early. Go with the flow and you will have a great time to remember. Well worth the cost. Great guide.

The whole experience was the highlight of our stay in Delhi. Pradeep was so knowledgable and he took us to places we would never have seen. We ate amazing food and he even took us to a Sikh temple where we put to work as hundreds of people came in to be fed. I cannot recommend this enough as a unique and wonderful experience.

We were nervous due to an incident in the area we were supposed to visit the day before and our guide, predeep took this on board and instantly changed The itinerary. We had the most wonderful experience and appreciated his wealth of knowledge and kindness very much.

The best tour! What an amazing experience, and our lovely guide Pradeep was super friendly, helpful, informative and passionate and made us feel super safe! The food was incredible and it was great to see the sights too, would 100% recommend!

Our experience was amazing, we booked it in the last minute and we still got a good customer service and support to go thru it. The local Pradeep was very supportive making sure that we were safe and enjoying all the tour, we had the chance to walk to little lane street lanes that we wouldn’t without a local, they took us to the most reliable and clean street vendors so we didn’t had any problem with food poising. Unfortunately we had to leave the tour earlier, but they made sure to take us to the main food places even with less tour time and at the end they helped us to get home safe. Highly recommended

Our first night in Delhi wasn’t a disappointment thanks to Cloud, our tour guide. We ate some great local food and learnt about life in Old Delhi. The rickshaw rides were fun and we felt looked after at all times. Make sure you arrive hungry!

Wow what an experience! My wife and I were accompanied by the simply excellent Salman for one of his Evening Food Tours and I have to say it was brilliant! Salman was very knowledgeable, insightful and a pleasant conversationalist. We went to excellent locations around Old Delhi, with stunning food and it really showed us a lot of what Old Delhi has to offer. We'd highly recommend doing this with friends, a couple or even solo to experience some of the real India all while taking in some delicious, traditional food.

We had a great experience and found that the tour more than good food. The tour included a ride on the metro, walking the alleys of Chandni Chowk, going by auto rickshaw and cycle rickshaws. Salman, our tour guide, knew the place very well and gave us a great narration of the food and sights. Ours was a group of family members, some from the U.S. and others from India. We were a bit concerned about eating the street food but we enjoyed the food and didn’t have any adverse after effects!

This was an excellent food tour! Although I've eaten a lot of Indian food at home in Canada, there were many delicious things that I had never tried before - and most were delicious. This was the 2nd best tour we did in India - and we did many. I highly recommend it!

Highly recommend this tour. Lots of options available for food tours but this one was great. Not only is a well curated and paced tasting tour with heaps of food, it’s a social enterprise. Our hosts Salman and Badal were knowledgeable, helpful and delightful to hang out with for the evening. We felt safe the entire time and would be a great for a solo traveller or a group. We took this tour on our first night in Delhi and it was a fantastic introduction to the old city. From the moment we met our guides Salman and Baden (?) we felt like we were with friends. Even if you're just in Delhi one day, DO THIS TOUR! I travel all over the world for food experiences and this was one of the best as you get a real feel for the ancient, jubilant, chaotic culture of Old Delhi! Pradeep, our guide, was so knowledgable and friendly and catered the itinerary to our interests. We tried so many different foods and snacks throughout the tour (way more than advertised!) and all restaurants/stalls/shops were well known, highly frequented establishments, many of which have been serving food for 50 years or more. We took a variety of rickshaws, tuk tuks, and metro trains to reach all the destinations which gave us another authentic another glimpse into life of a local in New Delhi. This tour is run by "Delhi By Locals" which is exactly what is! I highly recommend this for an authentic, memorable, and delicious travel experience!

Myself and my family took the Old Delhi Food tour with Pradeep and Badal last week and had such an amazing time. The old city of Delhi is such a chaotically beautiful place which felt like an entirely different world. Over several hours we spent time slowly moving through the city taking in the sights including a gorgeous sunset and the amazing spice market. The guides were extremely attentive to our needs, making sure we weren't too hot, hungry or tired constantly. The food we got to try on this tour was delicious, and tailored to our group with one vegetarian and personal preferences. I could not recommend enough this experience and will do it again every time I visit Delhi again.

What an absolute pleasure to be guided around the Old Town of Delhi by Salman. I very knowledgeable and personable young man . It was more like a friend taking us out for a street food feast to places as an older couple would never try on our own for fear of a bad stomach the next day , which , needless to say we didn’t suffer from. What an adventure! This was one of the most ambitious and exciting excursions we booked in Delhi for myself, my husband and 2 kids (ages 6 and 4). Salman and Abishek took us through the streets of Chandni Chowk, on foot, by auto, by pedal riksha, you name it. Definitely a place to go only with experienced pros! Among the sights, smells, and sounds there was so much to take in! The food was wonderful and we definitely had our favorites. The Chole bhatura was the best we've ever had and I have finally converted to being a jalebi fan, only in Old Delhi! (Also just a tip: Carry light. I had a backpack on and it was difficult to maneuver through the busy streets. Bring only what you need.)

Me and my 5 friends did this food tour this Sunday evening and we had a wonderful time! Pradeep and Salman accompanied us from the metro on Connaught Place to Chandni Chowk where we got rickshaws through the streets of Old Delhi. All the food, metro tickets, and rickshaws were included in the price and they provided hand sanitizer and wipes for us to use. Pradeep and Salman were fantastic and friendly guides and all the food was delicious! We particularly liked the Chole Bature and the fried chicken. We felt safe knowing that they were taking us to places with better hygiene standards and that they were looking out for us in the crowds of people as we walked around. Overall we had loads of fun and have recommended it to our other friends in Delhi who are staying for a few more days. Thanks so much!

My husband and I could not recommend this company more! Delhi by locals was recommended by my older brother as he had visited India a few years prior. It was the best recommendation we got about the entire trip. For anyone unaware the owner, Pradeep, built the company after we was able to rise out of his economic standing from a US scholarship he had received and his ultimate goal has been to lift others our of the slums by teaching them English and providing tourism job opportunities. This provides such a unique and special experience when touring Delhi. We learned so much from our guide Salman who grew up in the area. Beyond the food and cuisines, we learned about the historical influence, infrastructure, culture, religions, people and cast system, and contemporary views. Pradeep and Salman have hearts of gold and were the most lovely people. Beyond planning an exceptional tour for us (mind you it was intended to be 4 hours and they were extremely generous with their time and we spent 7 hours exploring and learnings from them!). Not only did they have a lasting impact on us from Delhi, but wanted to help us with the remainder of our time in India. I will fully admit that we were a bit naive in some of our planning and did not realize how crucial having planned tours and transportation plans ahead are when visiting India (we thought we could just book a train from one city to another or explore popular monuments on our own). LUCKILY we had establishes a great relationship with Pradeep after our Old Delhi tour and he came to the rescue planning our time in Jaipur with a freelance guide, booking us transportation from city to city, and even picked us up from the airport HIMSELF when we arrived back to Delhi with way too much time before our flights home to the states. In our last few hours in India we had the immense pleasure of visiting Pradeeps NGO, Learning by Locals, getting to see the Learning Center he has established for kids in the slums to learn English, computer skills, and much more, and spend time with the kids themselves. Our time with Delhi by Locals will never be forgotten. While it may sound cheesy, it really was a life changing experience! Liz & Brandon

We were a little hesitant to go on the evening food tour. Like other tourists, we had heard to be very cautious eating Delhi street food. However, our hesitation was completely unfounded! Predeep gave us a brilliant, comfortable evening. He was super knowledgeable, took us around all the key sites, handled all transportation and discussion with the locals. We tried some amazing food and had a brilliant time. He also took us to a cool ‘secret spot’. Definitely would recommend and would also use him for other tours as well.

If you are lucky enough to visit Delhi - these are the people to use. Absolutely fantastic service. Amazing, kind and helpful people who we now consider our Indian family. Pradeep and Salman are first class guides, and do everything they can to help you, going above and beyond. Not only do they help tourists to navigate this wonderful city, but they invest in the children in the slum areas, getting them the education they wouldn’t normally receive. Our guide Salmon was so flexible with us and the communication was excellent from booking to tour. They proactively reached out to let us know we had scheduled a tour on India Republic day and that most vendors would be closed. So we rescheduled to the day prior. The restaurants he took us too were both clean and delicious. It was fun learning the history of Chandni Chowk and the famous restaurants. It seemed like a very authentic experience. Salmon even helped us after the tour with ideas to make our trip to Delhi very special.

We went on a tour on our first night in Delhi with Pradeep, and as no others booked on the tour, we had a private tour just the two of us. Pradeep was super friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable. We tried a range of Indian dishes and were able to try more if we wanted, and adapt the tour to the types of foods we preferred. We visited Old Delhi which we were very apprehensive about visiting ourselves since it was our first day visiting India, Pradeep put us at ease and looked after us the entire evening. What a wonderful experience with Pradeep, going round several local and some very famous/popular eateries in the Old Delhi area, tasting all the various flavours on offer, from savoury to sweet and embracing the hustle and bustle of the bazaar. With the added bonus on our tour to see a festival procession. Incredible. This tour is hugely recommended to get a good feel of Old Delhi and eat amazing food on the way.

This was the third time that we had booked the activities of Delhi by Locals and I am happy to say that they are still just fantastic as ever. We did the evening food tour which was our second time doing this, having done it in 2017. they had tweeked the tour for us so we saw some new stuff but Pradeep asked right at the beginning of the evening what we wanted to eat and see during the evening. There were a couple of highlights from the first time so we included those - chickpeas with a puffed-up bread and rice pudding. Their company, Pradeep was joined by Jitu and Sukhmani, was great and their food choices and organisation was superb and as well there was a wonderful Diwali festival going on. TOTALLY RECOMMEND and we'll be back

I messaged Delhi By Locals after reading a great review on someone’s blog. After taking the tour, I would highly recommend that you also book it. They were very responsive and even started WhatsApp messaging me to answer all of my questions. Pradeep was communicative and informative before and during the tour. He was able to tailor the tour to us by meeting in a different area and adding certain things (like a stop in air conditioning during a hot July evening). This was one of the best tours we have been on and It was totally worth the cost. We had a total of three adults and one toddler with us and Pradeep and Salman were our tour guides. We did so many things that we never would have discovered on our own and it was great to be able to trust them about eating street food throughout Old Delhi. We also took many different modes of transportation and learned lots of tidbits about Delhi and India in general. I was grateful to have two tour guides to shepherd us around Old Delhi and really explore the area. They provided us with all of the photos and listed all of the foods we tried. The tour was also really smooth logistically. You could tell that they enjoyed their job. We have done many tours in the past, and I think this one stands out as one of our best. Thank you Pradeep and Salman!

We had a great time with Salman on the evening food tour. We sampled lots of really tasty street food and Salman took us on the Subway and in Tuk Tuks. It was great fun! We visited Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi which is so cool. An amazing tour and great value for money.
