Best Of Saint John Tour With Fort La Tour & Skywalk

This was a great experience! Our tour guide Trevor was very knowledgeable and personable! He knew all about the history and community of St John!

This tour was informative and went to the main sights in St. John. Our guide, Jon, made this a pleasant and safe tour. When we met Jon we were concerned about his older car; however, his knowledge and friendliness overcame this "question". We are traveling with 90 year old friends and Jon went out of his way to make sure they were comfortable and safe. The tour itinerary was average, but Jon made it top-notch! Viator delivered, as usual!!

Trevor, my guide was exceptional. Picked up from my hotel which was a bonus because it would have been very difficult for me to get to the assigned meeting place. I was the only person booked so that made it easier for him to get me. He was great, very warm and welcoming. Born and raised in Saint John, he had some great information about the city. He took me to all of the stops and was open to waiting for me to read etc. (I like history). The disappointment of this tour was that all of the paid attractions were closed - so no Martello tower, no Fort La Tour, not sure where the Skywalk was, but I don't think I went... So this tour includes admission to paid attractions but the attractions are not available (at least not on June 9th) - the itinerary should be updated. Great guide though, I really appreciated Trevor!

Russell did a great job and went above and beyond most guides. His knowledge was amazing he made sure we enjoyed our tour.

Viatour left us stranded with no tour due to being unable to accomodate our pre booked group of 6. We had to scramble and get a tour guide off the street and had a wonderful day no thanks to Viatour. Shame on you.

Party of 6 booked but tour provider could only take 4 and asked us to decide which couple would get left back. Ridiculous. Also meeting place was a gift shop who had nothing to do with the tour company indicating that this stuff seems to happen often with this tour company. Why Viator can’t weed out these companies is beyond me

Although booked several weeks in advance, The tour company called the day of our trip to tell us they coukd no longer accommodate all of us and asked us to choose which ones to exclude. We chose to cancel and requested refunds.

The communication for this tour was awful, and our short time in St. John was wasted. We were on a cruise and they tried to change our 12:00 tour to 4:00! When I asked them to confirm the meeting place, they did not reply. We went to the place they had originally told us. There was another couple there who had a similar request for changing the tour. While there they got a text that the tour guide was on his way (to a DIFFERENT pick up point!). They asked that we be picked up where we were and got no response. They got frustrated and left and my husband and I remained. Someone finally came (a half hour late). He did his best to give us a tour, but we did not get the tour we paid for. We did NOT get admission to the Fort or the tower because they are not currently open for tourists. This was know by the operator and should have been communicated to us, as our cost included admission fees. Under the circumstances, I felt it would be fair to request half of our tour cost be refunded. I have not heard a thing from the tour operator since making this request. I will NEVER use them again ,and I feel Viator should stand behind the tours they offer and intervene on our behalf to encourage the refund request be granted.

We were arriving on a cruise ship, the night before they cancelled without explanation and offered the next day instead. This of course was not possible, so had to scramble to find something else to do.

Very entertaining and knowledgeable driver/guide. If you have something specific in mind, he’ll make sure you get to enjoy it.

First, Viator and See Sight Tours were wonderfully patient with us when our cruise ship gave us conflicting information about our arrival time and it looked like we wouldn't be able to get to our pickup spot by the right time. Thank you so much for working with us! Second, although we had a rain-soaked day, our tour of St. John's was conducted by the wonderful Gannon, who was undaunted by heavy rain and insisted on circling back to certain spots when the rain stopped to ensure we got to see the very best of the city. The only reason we're giving a four-star rather than a five-star review is that the private car we rode in (a Chevvy Trailblazer), did not comfortably fit four full-sized adult passengers. If you are a family of two with two children and are considering taking this tour, it would be fine.

Despite the rain, Gannon hosted an excellent tour! We saw the sights and were amazed by the reverse falls! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tour from the cruise ship.

Our tour guide, Russell Hansen went above and beyond with sharing his knowledge. He was very patient with us and gave ample time at each point of interest for questions and pictures. He is an outstanding tour guide.

We signed up for a small group tour and were pleasantly surprised when we had a private tour for my husband and myself. Our guide was wonderful. He took us all over, stopped whenever we asked to take pictures, told us so much about the area and even took a Polaroid picture of us to remember our day together. We had a great day with him and visiting St John

Rus was very knowledgable about the history of the St John area. and extremely friendly and accommodating. We saw many places and things including many of the abundant local deer population. Our connection with Rus was very simple and convenient from the ship and we were dropped off just opposite the enytrance to the pier when the tour was complete A good value for the cost.

If visiting St. John, we HIGHLY recommend this tour, with Russ as your tour guide! Russ went above and beyond to show us the city and points of interest. The personal touches and stories he shared, made this tour one of the best we have ever taken. We loved it and learned so much! Such an enjoyable day in St. John!

Cher was a kind and very informative tour guide of Saint John. It was suppose to be a small group but ended up being my husband and I .. surprise bonus for us! We visited the City market and had time to walk around and shop, saw the amazing reversing falls rapids, the lovely Rockwood Park ( drove thru a large section of the 2200 acres and stopped to feed the birds ), had our picture taken at the Canadian monument at the park, drove around and saw the city highlights, saw a movie of the history at Carleton Martello Tower( tower currently under refurbishment) and ended at the 506 container ship district in front of cruise terminals. Had a lovely morning with our tour guide Cher!

They over book and change reservation time without contacting. We waited a half hour (1:30) and contacted them they “moved” our booking 4:00. No calls text or email. Finally after many calls, they contact a driver who shows up w his personal car for 5 adult passengers. Not his fault. Horrible management. Stay clear.

There were 4 of us on the tour. Russ was very engaging and interesting especially about Canada. He took us to some wonderful sights including a beautiful park and also took photographs of us during the tour. The best part was he noticed what we were talking about and suggested he change the tour to fit with our interests. Because of this our tour was an hour longer so even better for us.

Russ gave a superb tour of Saint John, but See Sight Tours served us very badly with poor communication and bad directions where to meet—that were different from the guide’s instructions! See Sight Tours caused us major anxiety sending us to the wrong place to wait in the cold while precious time ticked away. Russ the guide was told a different address. Why did See Sight arrange for such discomfort and hurt? Very poor start. They were hard to communicate with through Viator. They sent me a useless link to confirm—that led to nothing. So they failed to set things up for the clients. Bad service that hurt the clients and the guide alike.

Russ warms a great tour guide and took us on a nice highlights tour. Only 5 of us on the tour so Russ was able to personalize the tour. Recommended.

First, this review has no effect on the guides we had, Russ and John. They were excellent. However, our five were not together as told we were going to be in a van ,not two cars that were not clean. A far cry from the Mercedes van as promised. But as I said, the tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable.

Sounds a great tours, so we signed up. Waited for meeting and they didn’t turn up and didn’t communicate to say there was an issue or anything. Got a refund but no communication or apology- don’t do this one- plenty of others to go with.

Did not show and did not let us know they were not coming. They did refund our money because it was there mistake.

Vendor asked if we would be able to change our tour from 9am to new time of 1:30pm. We replied that it was not possible due to being on cruise ship. Vendor did not pick us up or other couple at pick up location at 9am. Simply ignored that we did not agree to be added to the 1:30pm tour. When we called, the vendor tried to get out of providing refund as well, despite the fact that they cancelled the 9am tour and did not communicate that to us.

Fabulous tour of St John. We were privileged to have Cher the most incredible ambassador and guide for the City. She had tremendous knowledge and granted us great insights into the towns past and present. Everything promised on the tour and more. Cher is outstanding in every regard, a true highlight for our trip.

You changed the date to the next day and since I was on a cruise, I wouldn’t be there the next day. I hope you refunded my money..

Our tour time was changed from the morning (preferred) to the afternoon without a valid reason. We missed seeing the full effect of the Reversing falls because of that (tide times). Martello Tower was closed due to repairs, this was never communicated to our group. After the time of our tour was changed I kept getting e-mails confirming the original morning time which was confusing. Otherwise Russ Hanson knew the city & explained the sites we were able to see.

Cher was an incredible tour guide! We had so much fun and learned so much! She catered the tour to our son’s (6.5) interests which was so kind & unexpected. We saw so many wonderful things in our time with Cher- things you can’t see on big tours because they can’t get there. We highly recommend this tour for a small family who doesn’t want to be part of a big tour. Thank you, Cher!

Small group. Only 4 of us. Good tour of Saint John And its history. Cher was quite knowledgeable. Seemed to zig zag back and forth across the city, but then I am not familiar with Saint John.

Great tour of St. John in one day. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at beautiful sights!

Our guide, Russ, was the most informative tour guide we have ever encountered!! And, he was so accommodating!!

Russ was phenomenal! He met us right on time and even supplied water and snacks. Russ was a wealth of information and knew just how to navigate around St. John to maximize our experience and minimize time in traffic! He supplemented the tour with his own gorgeous photography and offered to bring us anywhere we requested. Can’t recommend him enough! You will have a memorable excursion and head home more knowledgeable and with your own great photos!

Russ was very knowledgeable, friendly and timely. Unfortunately, we were not advised that our visit date was a holiday and the Fort as well as tower were unavailable for us. Additionally, extra car travel was needed due to an event which had the park partially closed for much of the day.

Russ was great. Good stories plus knowledge of St John’s. Couldn’t have been better. Personable and pleasant. Lots of good photographs os us by him plus points where we could photograph as well.

Loved Rockwood Park & the Reversing Falls Rapids, but getting to tour around town with a local was a great way to get oriented to the city.

Didn’t get to go. The tour ended a half hour past the ship boarding time. Looked for an office to try and get another tour booked. Meeting place was a parking lot. Contacted Viador but the agent couldn’t understand me and it was difficult for me to understand her. Total language miscommunication.

Touring Rockwood Park, viewing the reversing falls and Moosehead brewery tastings. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable of the area. If there was any complaint it would be the vehicle was a bit cramped for 4 larger people.

This gets 4 stars - the scenery and sights were enjoyable. We liked the reversing falls and the public market. Saint John is a very charming town. What could have been better? The guide. Despite his intentions being good, we did not gel well with him. He had a lot to say but didn’t take the time to really get to know us and didn’t seem generally interested in us (despite telling us way too much about himself) As someone who’s booked with Viator for nearly 10 years off and on, this guide was a dud.

I found this tour, wonderfully informative. I appreciated the times we got out to walk around. Our tour guide was helpful, funny and set up some beautiful photo shots as memories.

Russ did a great job with this tour. Lots of information with a personal touch. Many visits to interesting places.

Cher was an amazing tour guide. We were fortunate to have her with just the two of us and we had a fantastic tour of St. John. She gave us lots of information and took us to places where we had amazing views. I would highly recommend touring with her.

I cannot say enough positive things about my tour yesterday and, especially, my guide, Cher. She was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and it was a wonderful way to learn about St. John. I have already recommended Viator/TripShephard to my hotel for any visitors who ask for recommendations.
