Negril Lobster Lunch On Booby Cay & Snorkeling To A Sunken Cannon

I wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to Captain Jace, Captain Demoy, and Lifeguard Ricardo for giving our family one of the most incredible excursions we’ve ever experienced! We booked a private Glass Bottom Boat excursion in Negril, and it exceeded every expectation! There were seven of us: myself, my husband, our four children (22, 19, 4, and 21 months), and my mother. Right from the beginning, we explained that our four-year-old daughter is autistic and nonverbal, which was one of the main reasons we chose a private excursion. The crew was incredibly understanding, even making an effort not to rev the boat’s engine too much because of her sensory sensitivities. What touched us most was how they interacted with her. Although she doesn’t typically socialize, they still spoke to her, included her, and asked for high fives. When she didn’t want to engage, they respected her boundaries. They understood that inclusion doesn’t mean forcing interaction, and as a parent, that meant the world to me. ❤️ Our adventure began with a beautiful cruise along the Negril coastline, seeing the different resorts and learning about the history behind various locations before heading out to snorkel. And let me tell you about the snorkeling! 🐢🐠 My two older daughters and I went snorkeling with Ricardo, and I’ve snorkeled many times, but NEVER experienced anything quite like this! Ricardo dove down to bring up different sea creatures for us to see, touch, and learn about. He even placed jellyfish in our hands! When we spotted a sea turtle, he took my GoPro to make sure we captured an amazing shot. It was such a hands-on, educational, and personal experience, unlike your typical snorkeling excursion! We also saw a giant cannon from a pirate ship before continuing to a beautiful island for fresh lobster and chicken. 🦞🍗 This is where we had the pleasure of meeting Captain Jace himself! He personally greeted our family and, knowing about our daughter’s needs, showed us to a private area away from the crowds where we could eat and leave our belongings while swimming. Such a thoughtful gesture that made a huge difference for our daughter. While our food was being prepared, we swam in the gorgeous water, saw a stingray just a foot away from us, and discovered a starfish that my daughter absolutely couldn’t get enough of! And the food? WOW! 🦞 Everything was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour! The portions were incredible, and just when we thought we had enough, Captain Jace brought us even MORE lobster! The food honestly seemed never-ending. We were completely spoiled! After eating, we had more free time to enjoy the crystal-clear, beautifully warm, calm water. No waves, no rushing, just the perfect place to relax and enjoy ourselves. We ended the excursion with another beautiful cruise and were dropped off right on the beach at our resort! So convenient, especially with young children. What truly made this excursion special wasn’t just the snorkeling, beautiful scenery, or incredible food. It was the people. ❤️ Travelling with a nonverbal autistic child with significant sensory needs isn’t always easy. We want our daughter to experience the world just like any other child, and this crew made that possible while respecting her needs and making our entire family feel welcome. This excursion was absolutely amazing. Our captain was so attentive. Made sure we saw all the things including sea turtles during snorkeling. The lobster lunch? This alone made it worth it. My husband LOVES to cook and they took him into the “kitchen “ and showed him how they did it all/ he was in heaven. We got some quiet swimming time on the island where I can say I felt more at peace than I ever have been. Not kidding when I say we may do this exact trip again this week- that’s how much we loved it

Captain Jace and his team are incredible. They made our trip a one of a kind experience. We visited other parts of the island but they made negril our absolute favourite spot. We went fishing with Damoi and Howard for a couple hours and they knew all the best spots. The day kept getting better and better and we snorkelled at an unbelievably beautiful reef. And if things couldn’t get any better, we then had the best lobster lunch as well as our fresh caught fish at the beautiful island, booby cay. Your guides in negril are a dime a dozen. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience with the BEST, then captain Jace and his team are your only option. Captain Jace is very organized and pick up/the excursion was very easy, even for a first timer like myself.

What a great time! The boat was on time to pick us up, our guides were kind, inviting, funny, and all around true, good souls. Our kids had a blast and were so happy to have a chance to steer the ship! We accidentally left our son’s flippers (they have their own for guests but we brought our own) on the boat and they reached out and offered to bring them back to our resort the next day for us! Price was very reasonable for the excursion and food! Which, by the way, our food was amazing! The lobster and jerk chicken we had on Booby Cay was fantastic! They even shared the ingredients used in the sauce for the lobster which I would love to recreate if I can find spiny lobster in NY. It was the perfect length of time on the boat, snorkeling, eating and exploring the little island. A perfectly planned itinerary. On the excursion, it was our family of 4 and two other couples on the boat so it wasn’t overcrowded. They kept the party feeling good, but were VERY respectful and set some rules to be mindful of the kids on board which was so thoughtful. All in all, the best snorkeling I’ve seen in the Caribbean (have been twice in other spots in Jamaica, Antigua and DR), awesome guides, amazing food and vibes. Definitely recommend!

We had the most memorable time! We were guided while snorkeling and shown the various marine life in the area. The best part was the lobster lunch on Booby Cay! Everyone was very attentive to our needs in making sure we had a great experience! We would definitely do this excursion again!

Captain Jace was amazing and the food was the best we had our entire trip. Well worth the price for over a half day of adventure. The island itself has that real, local jamaican vibe. Snorkeling in the clear waters of jamaica was alot of fun and the snorkeling guide would pick up sea critters and allow the group to touch them. We saw many beautiful fish and sea creatures. Captain Jace picked us up right on the beach at our resort at exactly the time he said he would be there.

AMAZING and highly recommended experience. The snorkelling was so much fun and the guide was very encouraging and accommodating to my husband who is not a confident swimmer at all. The lobster lunch was DELISH!!! So so so much food and they offered seconds but we were absolutely stuffed.

The ABSOLUTE BEST PART of our trip!!! My kids and I had an amazing time. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We cannot stop talking about the lunch on the Island. By far the best lobster we have ever had. But most importantly Captain Jace acknowledged the fact that my daughter has a peanut and shellfish allergy! He made sure to have a separate chicken dish for her as well. I highly recommend and will definitely enjoy again when we go back.

The crew was awesome with the entire group. They were very helpful and kept the trip very informative and entertained. The food was the absolute best meal we had the entire week.

This truly was the highlight of our trip. The crew was fantastic— they were friendly, attentive and just great overall. I did not have very high expectations about the lobster lunch but they proved me so wrong. It was one of the best meals I had during my entire stay and the crew on the island was also very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely worth the price and I would recommend this tour to anyone. 5/5 stars and then some.

We were recommended to Captain Jace by a friend who visits Jamaica twice a year, and this experience absolutely lived up to the recommendation! Tippy and Chef took incredible care of us from start to finish. Tippy was an amazing diver and truly made the snorkeling experience special. He found all kinds of sea creatures for us to see and even hold in our hands, and we got to watch him spear a red snapper right in front of us. The guy is seriously skilled and gave us an underwater experience we won't forget. Now let's talk about the food... Full disclosure, **we are foodies**, and the lunch was TOP NOTCH. The grilled lobster was phenomenal, along with the rice and peas, vegetable medley, and jerk chicken. Everything was packed with flavor. It was so nice to get away from the resort for a while and enjoy some authentic Jamaican cooking in such a cool island setting. What really made the experience, though, was the crew. By the time we left, we genuinely felt like we had made new friends. Tippy, Chef, Captain Jace, and the entire crew made us feel welcome and gave us one of the highlights of our trip. I had an amazing time with Captain Jace‘s crew. The food was amazing. The customer service spectacular. The entire experience was 10 out of 10 !! you would be crazy not to book with them. Thank you so much to captain Jace‘s entire crew for such a memorable experience my husband, and I truly enjoyed ourselves and please send us the recipe for that lobster sauce. It’s a must have.

MEH. Snorkeling was incredibly disappointing, really really bad. we were handed equipment and told where to go, didnt even get to see the canon. Guide stayed in the boat doing who knows what. The ONLY reason this isnt a 1 star review for the entire thing is because of the food. The lobster lunch was 5 star worthy, magnificent in fact. The pictures they post of snorkeling are not accurate in the least bit. Use caution booking, IMO.

Best thing to do in Negril. We book with Capt. Jace almost every trip for 10 years because he's one of Negrils most solid operators. His boat is in excellent condition. The crew and life guards are well trained and organized, and certified. Superior knowledge of the reefs and other destinations. The food is amazing. Worth every penny. Don't miss this!

This tour totally exceeded our expectations! We had a multigenerational trip with people ranging in age from 5 years old to 70's and every one of us had a wonderful time. The captains were so friendly, engaging and caring- they took my 5 and 7 year old under their wings and taught them to snorkel. My kids are still talking about how great our guides were! My husband and I were able to snorkel and enjoy ourselves while the guides basically took over watching our kids. The lobster lunch was outstanding- the best meal we had in Jamaica and the island lunch was a definite highlight. Would absolutely recommend this excursion!

The absolute best adventure ! Captain Jace and his crew were totally amazing ! We went snorkelling and saw some really cool things under the sea ! I even saw a stingray when we were leaving the shore … Once we arrived at the island the vibe was fun and relaxing ! I was taken on a little tour of the island ! Some of the most amazing views of the Caribbean Sea that you never get to see !!! The food Omg the food was top tier ! Authentic and delicious ! I would definitely recommend this excursion to ANYONE and everyone that visits Jamaica !!!

This was definitely the highlight of our holiday, the two guys who took us out were great fun, had us laughing all day, the reef is great for snorkeling but the lunch is the best, it was the chefs first day apparently but what he produced was incredible, lobster,chicken and rice, best we had in negril. Would recommend this to anyone.

This was probably the best thing we did in Jamaica. The crew was really wonderful and were amazing with my six year old when she got a little freaked out in a shallow part of the reef. She was all smiles by the time we piled into the boat to head off to an extraordinarily good lobster lunch. Would highly recommend this tour and team!

Went with my wife and teenage daughters. The trip was great!! The guides showed up on time, and were very friendly. Snorkeling at the reef was awesome. It was great being able to take your time and explore. I didn’t feel rushed like you do with resort excursions. The guides were very knowledgeable and showed us various animals and features as we swam around. Lunch was incredible. We are staying at one of the large resorts and this lobster and rice was hands down the best meal we’ve had while here. I need the recipe for that rice and beans! Don’t hesitate to book this if you’re thinking about it.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this tour is! Our captains, Demoy and Tippy, took my friend and I snorkeling around Booby Cay. Tippy pointed out different sea creatures and we got to free swim and do our own discovery. Then we were taken to Booby Cay to eat lunch which, I kid you not, was one of the tastiest meals I have had in my life. My friend and I loved our experience so much that we booked not one but two more trips with Capt Jace Tours. All were different and all were phenomenal! These excursions were the highlights of our trip. Book it!!

Capt Jace and crew gave my family the best excursion we have ever been on. He took me out for solo half fishing day then took my family out for snorkeling and lunch of the island. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The food was expertly cooked by his family my sons even got to drive his boat. You can not go wrong with using capt Jace’s services. You will be treated like family and will laugh and sing while eating some of the best food I’ve had in Jamaica.

Wow! What an experience! We had an absolute blast. From the boatride to the snorking spot we saw starfish through the glass bottom. When we snorkeled we saw so many different things from fish to urchins and crabs. The guys would dive down and bring up cool shells and things to show my boys. They made the snorkeling so fun! Then we went to boobycay island. The lobster was prepared so deliciously and it was it was so peaceful and serene. Thank you to Captain Jace, Uncle Tippy and the rest of the crew. What is a normal day for you was an excursion we will remember forever! Highly recommend!!!!!!

This experience was excellent. My friend and I had such an amazing time. We originally booked one trip to Booby Cay with snorkeling, and had such an amazing time that we ended up booking two additional excursions through this company while we were in Negril. Demoy and Tippy were our tour guides for all three excursions and they were amazing hosts; very knowledgeable, professional and fun! 10/10 would recommend. I will absolutely book with this company again when I return.

Great trip. Picked up on schedule by Skipper (Ask for Skipper). He is a great guide. He is the type of guy that makes life fun and makes memories. Really interesting snorkelling and then on to lunch. Wow, the best food we have eaten since we have been in Jamaica, despite the 1 hour storm. We met Captain Jace too and he is enough to make you want to pay for the excursion. I am nearly 60 years old and very little impresses me these days but this did. Nuff respect!

This was by far the best excursion we did on the island!!! If you get a chance book with Jace and Nicki! It's affordable and well worth the price! I also have to give Skipper his flowers, he was so patient with me and is the first person that ever showed me how to snorkel correctly! AND I CANT FORGET ABOUT THE FOOD! Finger licking good!!
