Floyd’s Pelican Bar is a legendary little wooden bar perched on stilts in the middle of the sea off the south coast of Jamaica, near Parottee Bay in St. Elizabeth. It’s about a 20-minute boat ride from shore, which is half the fun. The bar is super rustic—built from driftwood, old pallets, and scrap materials—and feels like something straight out of a castaway dream. No roads, no Wi-Fi, no rush. I am so glad that my girlfriend and I did this trip. This was a private excursion so Rayon was with us from 8:30 am to early evening. He made sure we had enough time to enjoy the YS Falls, the Black Water River tour and for a couple of drinks out in the middle of the ocean at Floyd's Pelican Bar which was such a cool spot. I absolutely recommend using Rayon and his company to tour Jamaica. His local knowledge of the people and the wonderful places around Negril and western Jamaica in general was invaluable and made our trip so much more enjoyable. We honestly had the BEST JAMAICAN DAY our tour guide Gordan went above and beyond took us to local Jamaican food spots very knowledgeable about the land and the community .we did all 3 tours felt safe , cracked jokes ate good drank good couldn’t had asked for a better day . Thank you Gordon
Fantastic tour with our knowledgeable guide Rayon, who really made this trip special. From our pick up at the hotel to dropping us off in the evening, nothing was too much trouble and we felt really looked after. The tour itself was fabulous too and well worth the money (it may not be cheap but I would highly recommend it as it’s great fun and provides an insight into some of Jamaica’s most beautiful sites). YS Falls was my personal favourite. We loved the fact that you could swim anywhere, there were only a few people so no crowds despite it being Christmas and at the end laze about at the pool to dry off. Make sure you bring mosquito stuff. Black River was great too, lots of crocs, one of my sons even touched the biggest beast. The Pelican bar is a proper chill out place. I just wished I had brought our snorkels!! I would highly recommend Aloha Tours, they were very professional, punctual and flexible (we managed to stop at a supermarket). Great communication too, if you do go on this trip ask for Rayon. He really made our day special and was great fun, just what you need when you are on holiday!
This was the best tour of our entire trip to Negril. Rayon was amazing. He went out of his way to make our day not only fun, but personally helped immerse us in Jamaican culture. We were never rushed. Instead, Rayon encouraged us to take our time and really enjoy our experiences. YS Falls was breathtaking. Floyd's Pelican Bar (although drink prices were high) was absolutely stunning. The views were unreal...it survived Hurricane Berryl! We definitely will return to Jamaica and will only book with Rayon and Aloha Jamaica Tours! Our daughter will never forget her first fresh coconut water, roadside mangos, and the smell of lemon grass! What a spectacular day!
We had an amazing day with Rayan today. He was so friendly and did everything he could to make sure we had a good time. Lots of personal touches like treating us to fresh coconut and Jamaican fruit while on the road. All 3 attractions were spectacular and not to be missed!
Had the best full day doing all the different excursions, Rayon was the best guide and honestly made the whole day so much better, stopping off at different places to help us have the best experience and even taking us to a vegan cafe!
Our day was great and made more enjoyable with our guide/driver Rayon! Starting at YS Falls to relax and enjoy all its beauty. Rayon treated us to coconuts on our way to Black River Safari where we then took a scenic boat ride to view birds and crocodiles. Lastly, we made our way to the Pelican Bar, which was our first. It wasn't quite as I expected however we enjoyed it just the same. When back in Jamaica, I will certainly revisit YS Falls. The Black River Safari and Pelican Bar were great to experience, however, next trip I look forward to seeing new adventures, and would most definitely book with Rayon again!!
Today we were picked up from our hotel, perfectly on time, by our driver Gordon. We then enjoyed the drive to Black River, with regular commentary from Gordon on the areas we were passing through, buildings of interest etc. Once at the Black River safari, we boarded our boat and set off down the river. The guide on the boat was extremely knowledgeable about the area and wildlife, explaining in detail about the section of river we were travelling down. He spots crocodiles under the trees and skilfully manoeuvres the boat so close that they are within touching distance, an amazing experience! We also saw many birds, including an Osprey. Next stop was the beautiful YS Falls, a fairly short drive from Black River, which Gordon made a pleasure with further commentary and willingness to answer all the questions we had. Our daughters enjoyed the waterfalls and rope swings at the falls, our lifeguard guide was great, leading them across the rocks to ensure they didn’t slip and taking photos and videos of them using one of our phones. We then had the return journey to our hotel near Negril, again this was made a breeze by Gordon, despite some “interesting” driving from other road users, all part of the fun learning about driving in other countries. We even got to taste some spicy shrimp from a roadside seller. We wouldn’t hesitate to rebook with Aloha and would be very happy to have Gordon as our driver again. Thanks!

We've visited Black river first, on a boat and seen crocodiles, and then the YS falls were we had enough time for swimming and after a delicious lunch. Our driver Gordon provided us with excellent hospitality throughout the day. Aside from taking us to the amazing YS Falls and Pelican Bar, Gordon got us our first patty in Jamaica and took us to a fab restaurant on our way home. He gave us really interesting insights into the towns we passed through and we never felt rushed. After doing only two, we think three excursions in one day would have been too much. Overall, we had a great day and would recommend to anyone!
We opted to save a little bit of money and just booked the Black River Tour and YS Falls. We left the resort at 0830 and returned at 1600. Driver: Was on time and professional, nice vehicle, good air conditioning and clean. Drive to the first stop was about 1:45 minutes. Lots to look at it. On the way back to the resort our driver stopped for us to get some roadside eats as well as some wonderful local fruit and one of my favs, a bagful of sugar cane. Our Driver did all the price negotiating to ensure we didn’t get taken advantage of. Black River Tour: Zero waiting time. The boat took us immediately when we arrived. Scenery is quite beautiful, cruise was relaxing and our guide was well polished with some local knowledge and good wit. Total boat tour time was about 30 minutes. YS Falls: What a hidden gem this place is! About a 25 minute drive from the black river. No waiting the tour started immediately. Our guide got us moving through the different areas of the falls and took pictures for us the whole way. After the tour you know exactly where you are allowed to swim and you can take your time. Our driver had no issue with us taking as long as we wanted and we were able to explore and relax with zero time pressure. All in all we spent over 2 hours enjoying the YS Falls. HOT TIP - Bring water shoes!
Had a great time on this trip! Gordon our driver, was attentive and kind! Ended up stopping at a souvenir shop and getting mangoes on the side of the road! We would go again and would recommend this to our friends.
We picked two spots: YS Waterfalls and Black River Safari. Our Tour was with Rayon and he was the best. He gave us very informative information about Jamaica during the drive and brought us also to a beautiful place with big bamboo, where he bought coconuts to drink and eat for us. He also took some nice pics. After that, we drove to the waterfalls. We enjoyed the atmosphere there, even we didn't want to swim. We just walked around and admired the beauty of the nature. It wasn't too crowded there. The next spot was the Black River Safari, which we loved. It was really fun to drive quite fast with the boat and to see all the bird's, trees and flowers on the way. Of course we also saw crocodiles, two of them the guide of the boat attracted with funny and loud noises, feeded and also touched them with his hands, which was quite scary, but also impressive! After the tour Rayon took us to a lady with many fruits and wanted to buy mangos for us, so that we can try it, but the fruits looked so good that we buyed some for later and they were very delicious. Book with Rayon! Seriously he goes above and beyond to make sure your trip with him is nothing less than spectacular. During the trip he taught us about different herbs, fruits and foliage. Told us what towns we were driving through and facts about them. He made sure all of our excursions were arranged and started soon after we arrived. It really felt like we gained a friend by the end of the day. He even called to check in on my husband (he stepped on a sea urchin) to make sure he was doing OK. He also mentioned that not only does he do tours he also does airport pickup with a nifty welcome package! We will be sending all our friends to him and book him upon our return to jamaica.

This tour is a must do! YS FALLS are anazing! The water is really refreshing, i would have loved to stay the whole day. The Pelican Bar was great fun, really cool boat ride over. Remember to take your swimming stuff as the water is shallow and you can have a swim. Aloha Jamaican Taxi Tours are so reliable and go above and beyond yo make everything go smoothly.

Another tour company canceled our Sunday tour on late Saturday. Luckily, we met Rayon from Aloha that day on a trip to Lethe river. We called Rayon and he booked a tour to YS Falls, Black River Safari, & the Pelican Bar for the next day. The website for Aloha wouldn’t let us book past our departure date. Rayon was a savior for our trip. YS falls was beautiful. If you have the time, I would spend an entire day there. Drinks were very affordable, the views were incredible, and the experience memorable. We then went to Black River Safari. It was an intimate tour with just my wife, the tour guide and Rayon. It was fun and I got to hold a baby croc. We then traveled to a boat captain that took us to The Pelican Bar. Perhaps I am too old to appreciate the vibe. I was also put off by no prices on the posted food menu. We ordered and were shocked to hear, “$50.00” for our order. The food took 45 minutes to deliver and wasn’t worth the money or wait. I asked Rayon if we could find and ATM and some edibles on the way back to our resort. He drove us to an ATM and made sure I got into the cue that had US $. Then we went to Connie’s. Connie opened for us and sold me some gummies that were a wonderful high. Rayon saved our Sunday in Jamaica.
Our trip to YS Falls was wonderful, the highlight of the day. We could’ve spent hours there, but we had another part of the excursion to look forward to. I was skeptical about the Safari, but our tour guide, Rayon, encouraged us, and I’m glad he did. It is an experience you just have to have. So peaceful and beautiful. I opted out of holding a baby crocodile, though! The Pelican Bar was definitely unique, but not our favorite part. I’ll put it this way - if you like the vibe of Key West, you will love it. Regardless, it’s definitely an experience that you won’t have anywhere else. All in all, Rayon took great care of us and really helped personalize our experience. He really takes care of his customers. Our scheduled excursion for the day had been canceled, and he came through in the clutch and saved our vacation!
