From the moment we were greeted at the front gate, I knew we would have an amazing stay. Our villa (Pine Pillar) was secluded and had a stunning view. Our meals on property were delicious and the service always top-notch. And the water, both the pool and the sea, was so relaxing. I look forward to our return trip!
Rooms were gorgeous. Very clean. Lovely grounds. Picturesque. Great sunsets. Service was good with about 80 percent of the staff. 20 percent were unattentive. Remember, you are on a island time so don't expect quick service. Three beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs were property dogs and were a wonderful addition.
This resort made our entire trip. We spent two days on 7-mile beach in a boutique hotel then came here and it seriously was the best experience I’ve had. I felt like my vacation fully started when we arrive. Not to mention we are dog lovers and meeting the resort pups was a highlight. Also, the restaurant food way exceeded my expectations. Great and Razor at the bar makes excellent drinks. So memorable!!!!! Thank you Tensing Pen!
Tensing Pen was truly one of the highlights of my trip. This place feels restorative in the best way. I’ve been coming to Negril for 10+ years, but this was my first time staying on the cliffs after always being on 7 Mile Beach, so I’m very familiar with the usual hustle and energy. Tensing Pen was such a refreshing change of pace; peaceful, private, serene, and exactly what I didn’t know I needed. From the moment I arrived, the staff was phenomenal. Warm, kind, attentive and just genuinely lovely people all around. The level of hospitality here stands out in a major way. Special shoutouts to Paul the lifeguard (an absolute gem), Michelle (a sweetheart), Splinta, Razor and everyone else on the staff. Every interaction felt genuine and welcoming. As a solo Black American female traveler, how I’m treated and how I feel in a space really matters. While I did overhear a few uncomfortable comments from other guests, the staff made me feel completely welcomed, respected, and at ease throughout my stay. Daily yoga with Fannette was incredible! Easily one of my favorite experiences of the trip. Practicing on a cliff overlooking that unreal blue water? It doesn’t get better than that. I also did a drumming lesson with Calbert that was such a fun, memorable experience. And the food… wow. The Jamaican pepper steak was honestly one of the best meals I had in Negril. So flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked. The pineapple chicken and banana bread at breakfast were also personal favorites of mine. The property itself is beautiful. Lush, well-manicured, and peaceful. Butterflies and hummingbirds flying around during the day and tree frogs singing you to sleep at night. It felt safe enough that I was comfortable leaving my room unlocked, which says a lot. The room was spacious and comfortable overall, though the handheld showerhead did have noticeable mildew, which was a bit surprising given how well everything else is maintained. Overall, this place has a really special energy. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, scenic, and genuinely welcoming, Tensing Pen is absolutely worth it. I will be returning for sure!
My wife and I loved our stay at Tensing Pen. The rooms and resort amenities are nice but the service and scenic beauty of the resort are what made the stay so memorable. The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was very good, the drinks at the bar were great. and we genuinely enjoyed every minute we spent at the resort because the staff made us feel so at ease. The water right off the resort is incredible for swimming or snorkeling. We’d love to go back!
