Such a positive, enjoyable experience. Our guide ( Chandimal) could not have been more helpful. We had the clear itinerary we had asked for but he made extra stops for things as he found out our interests eg;Ayurvedic garden, massage, stops for roadside avocados, wild tamarind, jack fruit etc. Nothing was too much trouble, he was really knowledgeable about customs, religions, food.... anything really and it made our first week in this beautiful country so enjoyable. I am very satisfied with the driver/guide Mr. Samintha for the following reasons. He drives very safely and carefully. The car was comfortable and new. He is punctual and always on time. Additionally, he was flexible, knew what my interests were, and responded well to them. He had a lot of interesting information to share about the sights we visited. I found him to be a pleasant person to interact with, paying attention to detail. A small example: he removed the headrest of the seat in front of me so that I had a better view from the back seat. These may be small things, but together they made the tour very enjoyable.

We’ve just completed an 8 day tour with our driver Samintha Ekanayake (SAM) which was arranged by USP Lanka based at Colombo Fort train station. We had already pre booked our accommodation but needed to get from A to B and just by chance after visiting the train station popped into the USP office where we put an itinerary together with their invaluable advice. Everything worked out so well and the main reason for this was Sam’s expert knowledge and guidance. He was always punctual and generous with his time, patient and kind. He took us to places that we would never had experienced without him, for example visiting Kandy and seeing the Sacred Tooth ( which wasn’t on our original plan) to eating delicious buffalo curd and honey from a roadside stall. Sam really made our holiday very special and we will remember him fondly.

We had a wonderful 15-days-tour from Colombo to Hikkaduwa. Mr. Fernando carefully considered our needs and put together a well-planned itinerary, always making the right choices regarding the locations and the length of each stay. We too accidentally met Prasanna at the Colombo railway station information office and so glad we did! We had a fabulous 16 days trip with our kind and professional driver Bennet travelling around Sri Lanka. We visited so many wonderful places which would be difficult and time consuming to navigate using local taxis. We travelled from the south to the central highlands, the east coast to Jaffna then to Negombo. Our itinerary changed during the trip ( our choice) but this was easily arranged. We would thoroughly recommend using this company.

We had an unbelievable trip win Bandara. He could not have done more for us during our trip. He knew all the great places to stop at between each destination and he became a great friend on the trip.

Out driver, Manoj was a total professional, treated us with roadside stops for fruit and photos. Saw elephants, local dancing, fire walking, temples and Kandy Botanical Gardens were all truly amazing. The accommodations over the 4 nights was basic but more than adequate, breakfasts were better than good. Would go again!

We had a great experience with our driver during our trip in Sri Lanka. From the very beginning, he was punctual, well presented, calm, and professional. We immediately felt safe and well taken care of. He drove very confidently and carefully in all conditions — highways, busy cities, and mountain roads. At no point did we feel rushed or unsafe, which is especially important in Sri Lanka where driving can be intense. What we really appreciated was his flexibility. He adapted easily when plans changed, suggested local tips and activities, and helped us book experiences along the way. We asked him many questions, and he was always happy to explain and share local knowledge and everyday experiences, which added a lot of value to the trip. His English is good and communication was easy, even if it’s not perfect. He was also very helpful with practical things like restaurant recommendations, directions, and making sure we always knew where to meet him. Was patient when waiting for us and never made us feel under pressure. The car was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with air conditioning always on when needed. Our route was Negombo → Sigiriya → Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Ella → Udawalawe → Weligama in 6 days. It was doable, but I would recommend adding one extra day to make the trip more relaxed. I would highly recommend him to first-time visitors, couples, and solo travelers. Having a private driver is by far the easiest and most efficient way to travel around Sri Lanka — without one, you often end up paying overpriced transfers between cities and losing flexibility.

We dropped by coincidence into office of Mr. Ferdinando at Main Train Station in Colombo and bought train ticket to Anuradaphura. He suggested to take a driver from that point to visit the Tempels and the next stops of our journey (Anuradpura, Sigira, Kandy, Nuwara Elyiah, and Tangalle). He is absolute reliable person. Our driver Dilruk, picked us up in time and took us all around with such a kindness we wouldn’t have estimated. We saw many places we didn’t know before. In addition Dilruk was such a safe and calm driver. Dilruk is such a kind and pleasant person. He made our travel over SriLanka island to an unforgettable experience.

Our family of 3 took a 7-day tour with Bannet, our wonderful driver, when train travel was impossible due to cyclone damage. It turned out to be a fabulous journey. Bannet is a kind, safe, cautious driver, always on time, and his English was great. 10/10, would do it again.

We utilised the car service of having a driver with us from the South, all the way back to the airport. We started the journey in Mirissa, and made our way through Yala, Ella, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Sigiriya. Anura was our assigned driver. He was a very trustworthy person, who had knowledge of the country and the journey. He was very good in stating that his job was not only to drive us, but to ensure our safety and enjoyment of the trip. Anura was on hand to help with hotel bookings and trip recommendations where we needed. He is a kind and trustworthy man, and we enjoyed having him take us around our country. Anura was with us for 7 days, and we felt safe with him the entire time. He clearly showed a passion for what Sri Lanka has to offer and that came across to us. Thank you Anura!

We spent 6 days in Sri Lanka right after the floods, and having Pradeep Sawwa as our driver made everything so much easier. He’s funny, chatty in the best way, and incredibly flexible, always ready to adjust plans, find alternatives, and keep the mood light. We always felt safe, well taken care of, and genuinely entertained. It costed us €465 which also included the rental ot the jeep for the safari.

Samintha was an absolute gem. We unfortunately couldn't do the planned tour due to the flooding and road closures. Despite being separated from his family in Kandy who were affected by the Tornado, Samintha made sure we were safe and okay. He also safely navigated us back to Colombo once we could travel again. We arrived in Colombo, had a great few days exploring the city then headed to the train station to book trains to take us to the south of the country. We got helped by friendly locals but decided to go to the tourist office in the railway station to get some advice. We met Ferdinando who was so, so friendly & helpful. We explained what we wanted to do - train to Hikkaduwa for chill time on beach, then Mirissa for whale watching, Udawalawe National Park for elephant safari then Ella, then famous train ride to Kandy finishing at Negombo. No pressure whatsoever but he explained best way to go about this then suggested a driver especially for parts of the journey that train was not possible. We liked his plan & the price we got was very good value in our eyes which included a train ticket for the famous railway which was fully booked going from Colombo. He got us the tickets, explained each step perfectly and assured us Nishan from Star Tours Sri Lanka would take very good care of us. We got picked up in Mirissa by Nishan bang on schedule & despite embarking on the trip just after the tragic flooding, everything was perfect just as Ferdinando said it would be. We survived the massive cyclone Ditwah all because of our driver. He made sure we had safe places to stay, took only safe roads, when roads where blocked he would do his very best to try and get us to the next destination safely. We trust him to wait with all of our luguage while we did excursions eash day! His name is Bandara and we would recommend his services to anyone visiting!

Bennett drove me all around Sri Lanka for the week. He was so friendly and helpful. He knows all the best places to stop and see on our long drives. He also knows the best restaurants to eat and stores for the shopping I wanted to do. Having him drive me around made my trip so easy and enjoyable. You’d be lucky to have Bennett as your driver!

First of all: we are literally forced to write this review. We got multiple phone calls (even now after we have already arrived back home in Germany) after we left a critical review which we deleted then and now we “are asked” to write another one. We have never experienced something like this. We have been already asked to write a review days BEFORE the end of the tour even which we denied. Pressure on the drivers and the whole staff of this company must be horrifying and this is not right! Second: it is very misleading of the company to use the title “Tourist Information” at the railway station in Colombo when in fact it was the company selling standardized tours through Sri Lanka. Don’t get this wrong: of course it is a valid point to sell 7 days round tours but please don’t do this under the guise of tourist information. Our intention was to go to the railway station and buy a train ticket. We ended up buying this 7 days round trip because we were told that it is not really possible to visit the regions we mentioned without a private driver (which is in fact just not true; even if there is no train or bus for some directions, you can always use TukTuks and Uber – also for distances of over 1 hour). When we said we wouldn't need the driver for the last two days of the trip, we were persuaded not to and the matter was not discussed further. In retrospect, this makes sense because it was sold to us as an individual tour, even though it was simply a standard tour that is only available as a 7-day tour and this was not really what we wanted in the beginning. In retrospect, it also makes sense that our driver always dissuaded us from our own suggestions and said, “No, we're going somewhere else because it’s better,” etc. The end of the trip was to use the train from Kandy to Colombo and we were told we will get the train tickets from our driver. Then we got 2nd class tickets and we were told that we get these tickets because we wanted to drive 2nd class which was also just not true. We have never been asked if we want to drive 1st or 2nd class. Then we were told that there is no 1st class on this train which was also not true. Apart from this both our salesperson and the driver were very friendly and looked out for us and called us multiple times to ask if everything is alright. I mean, traffic and hygiene standards in some accommodations in Sri Lanka are partly awful but this was not the responsibility of this company. However, we would recommend to book accommodations or guest houses or private rooms via AirBnB in advance because standard there was much higher. Also be very careful with hygiene standards at local places offering ayurvedic massages!! (far away from western standards) Especially our driver tried very hard to make us happy. What we missed on the trip: drinking water and toilet paper. I had a one-day tour with a certified guide at the beginning of my trip in Sri Lanka and there I did not have to take care of all the basic stuff like drinking water, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, mosquito repellent, sunscreen. On this trip you have to take care of all this yourself. (and there is no toilet paper at most of the public toilets and even at local restaurants!) Communication was also partly difficult because we often tried to ask sth in English but we were not understood which lead to many misunderstandings which started to get annoying after some days. If you want to do a standard tourist tour and don’t want to plan your trip yourself, you can do this. Still advisable to book the accommodations online and always always read the reviews first (also regarding restaurants!). If you want to explore the country on your own using train, bus, TukTuks, Uber, it is also perfectly possible.

We had a very nice trip around Sri Lanka with our kind driver Chandimal who was always willing to help and showed us different places and gave us also inspirations on local restaurants and food. We felt save the whole time!

My friend Jason and I booked a private driver with this company and we got Anura. He was great. Nothing was too much trouble. He helped in more ways than expected- for instance I left my iPad on the train and Anura managed to retrieve it! My friend lost his glasses and Anura retrieved them too!!! He was never late, the car was spotless every morning. He was professional and drove safely, patient and friendly, kind and helpful. Anura is an asset to your team! We arrived in Kandy to start our journey.was met with our guide name Dilruk he was wonderful and very helpful took us to all the interesting spots and places we went to go to. Found good places to eat.If you’re doing any tours ask for Dilruk’s as a guide and you’ll have a great experience.

Dilruk, our driver, picked us up from Ella train station. We then had a tour around Sri Lanka, via Kandy, Sigiriya, Anaradhapura and Trincomalee. Dilruk is a very good and safe driver. He is very friendly and accomodating and knowledgeable about his country. We had a very pleasant time with Dilruk.

Hi, we travelled by train from Colombo to Kandy then hiked to Hatton caught a train to Ella where we met our driver Dilruk . Our train and driver organised by Prasanna . Dilruk then took us to all the sights on the way to Trincomalee over ten days for return train to Colombo.Dilruk was masterful at negotiating the traffic,punctual and a delight to travel with.

What an amazing Sri Lankan experience we had during this one week journey together with Thilina. Thilina was more than a guide to us and more of a companion. Enquired at USP Lanka Tours information office outside the Colombo Fort railway station for a driver & tour from Jaffna. Mr Ferdinando Prasanna’s suggested trip covered the places I wanted to see plus a few more. He checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was okay, which demonstrated great customer service and professionalism. My driver, KC Newman, was excellent. Arranged accommodation for some nights at lovely places that I would never have found. Especially memorable was the Ambiente hotel high on the hill above Ella (see photo for the early morning view). Highly recommended service!

We booked the round tour with chauffeur in the tourist railway information station which was very odd but it turned out amazing. Not only was our chauffeur, Pradeep sawwa an excellent driver, he also got us an one in a lifetime experience by recommending us most of the places we visited. Indubitably it was the right decision to book this package.

Like other customers we stumbled upon the option to book a driver at the Colombo train station. We had already set up our route before the trip (including hotels for the most part) but didn’t plan transportation except for the first train ride. In the tourist office we talked through our proposed route and decided to book a private driver to make the most of our two week journey (private driver for 10 days). We were very happy that Mr. Tusara was assigned to us as there were already reviews of what a great driver and guide he is. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. Not only was the driver friendly, calm and very knowledgeable about everything we had questions about but also easy to communicate with due to him living abroad for quite some time and speaking English well. He drove us around safely in the challenging Sri Lanka traffic while telling us interesting stories about the country. Having him as a driver made our trip very easy going and we could spend our time relaxing without worrying about getting from a to b. Visiting Sri Lanka was a great experience. The tour was well organized, except for the hotel accommodation. I would especially like to appreciate our car driver, who not only drove us but also acted as a tour guide. His driving skills were excellent, and he always followed the traffic rules. We spent a week touring Sri Lanka with our expert driver Dinesh. We were so lucky that he managed to get us 2 last minute seats for the Kandy Esala Perahera which was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. He is from Kandy so we even got to quickly meet his family which made it even more special. Dinesh was really knowledgeable about his country & always shared his passion.
