Room no 3304/3305 best stay
**Very disappointing experience — room shown online was not the room provided**
I booked this hotel for 2 nights after seeing the pictures of the **Standard Room with Pool View** on Agoda. I had booked 2 rooms, and unfortunately, the rooms we were actually given were nowhere close to what was displayed in the listing.
The rooms were on the ground floor, had a lot of mosquitoes, poor lighting, looked quite run-down, and were significantly smaller than the rooms shown in the pictures. When I raised this with the staff, I was initially told that these were the rooms I had booked and that there was nothing they could do.
I insisted that this was not the room shown in the listing and showed them the Agoda page to prove it. The image displayed under the “This Room” section clearly did not match the rooms we had been given. I had to speak to three different people and repeatedly explain the issue, but they continued insisting that they had no other rooms available.
What was particularly frustrating was that I could see other rooms at the property were still available for the same dates when I checked the app myself. After a lot of back and forth, they finally agreed to give us the rooms that actually matched the ones I had booked — and called it an “upgrade” so that they “wouldn't disappoint me.”
To be fair, once we moved to the correct rooms, we felt much better about the stay the next morning.
Breakfast was okay, but nothing particularly impressive.
Overall, I found the experience very disappointing, especially the fact that I had to argue to receive the room I had actually booked. I also don't understand the 5-star rating shown on Google - based on our experience, I would not consider this a 5-star property, or even close to it.
We chose Amagi Aria for our honeymoon, and it was an amazing experience. The room was very clean, and the atmosphere of the hotel was elegant and relaxing. I especially loved the night view—it was absolutely breathtaking and on another level. Their buffet also good. I rate 7/10 for the foods.
I would also like to specially mention Mr. Lakshan, who provided us with excellent service throughout our stay. He assisted us with the jacuzzi and was always ready to help with anything we needed. I sincerely thank him for making our honeymoon even more memorable.
I highly recommend Amagi Aria to anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful and unforgettable vacation.

The foods were delicious, Specially the seafood! 🦀❤️ The crab curry was absolutely delicious—full of flavour and perfectly cooked. And also a beautiful view of the Negombo Lagoon. Highly recommended!
