Guide did an excellent job giving us history, price was right and we had excellent experience.

The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory produces bundt rum cakes in several scrumptious flavors, like Pina Colada, banana, chocolate, and plain pound cake. The cakes are marinated in the famous Ole Nassau Rum, distilled in Nassau on New Providence Island, and they especially go great with ice cream. These cakes are available throughout the island as well as in the departure lounge at the Lynden Pindling International Airport and at Festival Place on Prince George Wharf. They are vacuum packed for shipping and will retain their flavor. You can get a tour of the facilities and free tastings when you visit. Homemade jams and jellies are also available. Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. / Sunday 10:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing and Educational Experience with Chippies Cultural Tour in the Bahamas! If you're visiting the Bahamas, I highly recommend booking a tour with Chippies Cultural Tour! Our tour guide, Fonzy, was absolutely amazing. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the Bahamas, especially her own family's history and heritage. Hearing the stories about her grandfather and father, and the history they share with the Bahamas, made the experience even more meaningful. We visited the rum cake factory, stopped at Tasty Teas, where we learned about their natural teas and their healing traditions, and even got to sample some delicious fried conch! This was so much more than just a sightseeing tour. It was an opportunity to learn about the culture, history, family roots, and traditions of the Bahamas through someone who has a personal connection to it. Fonzy made the entire experience enjoyable, informative, and memorable. I walked away with a greater appreciation for the Bahamas and its rich history. Thank you, Fonzy, for sharing your knowledge, your family's story, and a little piece of Bahamian culture with us! If you're in the Bahamas, do yourself a favor and book Chippies Cultural Tour. You won't be disappointed! 🇧🇸❤️
Our experience was wonderful from the start all the way to the end! Our host Fonzie brought so much energy & fun! You can tell she loves what she does & also gave us so many fun facts about the Bahamas. Educational & a 10/10 experience. We love Fonzie it would not be the same without her!! We brought Grandma to the Bahamas & she even was patience with us & helped her with the big step, gave us water & was helpful in us taking care of grandma through the hot day!
It was my solo first cruise and first time in the Bahamas, the tour guide did an amazing job explaining the history of Bahamas and its landmarks. I was able to take some great photos and try some pretty good food. He even went above and beyond to calling ahead to restaurants to see if they could take Apple Pay so I could get some conch salad. The pickup/dropoff process was very easy and I can’t wait to come back again!
Was not sure what to expect when I booked this tour. We had been to the Bahamas several times, but only stayed on the resorts. We met the group at the straw market. It was Sunday morning at 10 AM. It was a $55 cab ride to go from Bahama to the straw market. The street was packed. The cruise ships are parked nearby, and for some reason there were singers with huge speakers on the street, disrupting traffic and so loud that you could not even talk to the person next to you. We found the open air tram and checked in. That was very easy. Then it was a matter of squeezing everyone into the tram. As the woman who was doing the squeezing said, the trams are made in Japan where the people are smaller. Unfortunately, most of the people in our tram were oversized. But they got everyone in. It might’ve been better to have a second tram and maybe allow people to be able to breathe a little. We sat second to the last row in the back and there was a row of very boisterous Germans behind us. Unfortunately, they talked the whole time, and so it was almost impossible to hear what the driver was talking about. There is not a lot to see in Nassau. Our first stop was at the rum cake factory, where you went in and tasted rum cake, and they hoped that you would buy. The rum cake was delicious and I did buy a package. The next stop was to tasty teas. Another sales pitch with samples. Our driver did buy some fresh fried conch and we each got one to try. They were delicious. We drove to Atlantis and parked several blocks away from the resort. We were given 30 minutes to visit, of which it took 10 minutes to walk there and 10 minutes to get back to the trail. We never made it into the resort, just found a bathroom and went back to the tram. The Queen’s staircase was next. It is interesting to look at, but we were given no history. Because it had rained that morning you had to walk through ankle deep water to get to the steps. We took a couple of pictures and went back to the tram. We drove past Gray Cliff and got a little bit of history of that restaurant. Went by a few hospitals and government buildings, and then it was back to the straw market. We were gone approximately two hours. Was it worth it? In my opinion, not really. There may be smaller tour guides where you could get a little more history and be a lot more comfortable.
What a beautiful tour with a beautiful tour guide. Ms. Chippie was so entertaining and took us to all the cool places on the island. I highly recommend taking this tour!!
This tour was just okay for us. The guide did get us a treat, which was a nice touch. But the guide was monotone and not entertaining, so the energy dragged, and some stops felt rushed. And honestly, the stops felt less like culture and more like sales pitches: the teas were extremely overpriced, the rum cake factory is a store where you sample and feel pressured to buy, and we didn't even stop at the Fish Fry (drove by) All the stops are designed to get you to spend money, not to showcase the culture.
We had a wonderful time on our city tour! The open-air vehicle with a canopy roof made the experience fun and unique. We knew it could get hot, but that was part of the adventure! The operator and driver took excellent care of the entire group and made sure everyone felt comfortable and well looked after. Everything was well organized, and we truly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend this tour!
This is a great ride around the island with a host who seems to know everyone who lives here and every story! We loved hearing about the history and lots of photo ops! It was perfectly timed for a drop off at the beach for a few hours swimming before heading back to the boat. 100% recommend.!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! Book now! This tour was great! Very informative and interactive. Our tour guide was the best; she even took us to her neighborhood and interacted with the locals which gave us the REAL BAHAMIAN feel. She arrived on time for pickup and took us to top spots on the island.
Excellent tour. Easy meet up at straw market. Fonzi( Fontella) is a very knowledgeable guide. Tour has history and fun in one. Great stops at local vendors. Take this tour, you'll enjoy and learn a lot about the history of Nassau.
Informative tour and nice to see multiple parks of the island. Nice stops along the way to get off and explore. Recommend staying on the tram to view Paradise Island vs walking to Atlantis. Great value for the money
Excellent driver who provided interesting facts and information about the Bahamas and Nassau. 2-1/2 hours was just the right amount of time for a tour before exploring the town on our own.
Excellent service. It was my second time visiting the Bahamas, but my experience with this agency was incredible. Poncie, the guide—wow, 100 out of 100. You get to experience, learn, and discover so much on this tour. A huge thank you for this day. ♥️🫶♥️🫶
This was the best experience I ever had. Chippies is a great tour and we will definitely do this again if we go to Nassau. We learned more about the culture the integration with the British Spanish and Americans. We also had some great food and conch fritters!
This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip! This isn't just a basic sightseeing tour—it’s an immersive, high-energy celebration of Bahamian culture, history, music, and local food. Our guide, Fonsi, was knowledgeable, passionate, and made everyone feel like family from start to finish. If you want to get past the tourist traps and truly feel the heartbeat of the island, book this tour!
Fun and very informative tour with local legend Fonzie!!
Educational and fun you have an opportunity to visit Atlantis or the surrounding malls , buy rum cake, buy tea, buy coconuts, visit historical cites, listen to music and buy souvenirs, also you can make your last stop fish fry and stay and eat and grab a quick taxi ride back to ship ..ok we can't recall the Extraordinary Gentleman that toured us...perhaps Julian or Julius..(if company could correct us), he was sooo friendly, attentive, and generous ..
Very informative and driver guide Julian was amazing and always made sure everyone was taken care of
Julian Was Amazing! He gave very detailed facts about landmarks and history of the Bahamas! His customer service is unmatched! I really enjoyed myself and I would take another tour with Chippies anyday!
Amazing ! Ms Fonzie was absolutely amazing, you can feel the love of her island. It was so amazing and we had a wonderful group. I would definitely take the tour again with Ms Fonzie !!!
We have been to Nassau at least half a dozen times and usually just walk around and take in the local vibe, but this time I wanted to learn a little more and that we did! What a wonderful excursion with Fonzie! I thought from all the reviews that she wasn't really all that great BUT SHE WAS! Very knowledgeable with all things Nassau, fun facts, and giveaways! She was obviously loved by the whole community as they all knew her and us as we made our way through the streets of this lovely place to all our stops. Was absolutely a great time and highly recommend it! (That's Fonzie in the straw hat taking our photo!)
An informative and fun way to see some of the major landmarks in Nassau. Our guide was very knowledgeable and even adapted the route to suit the needs of all the passengers.
We had the best time!!!! She was very knowledgeable about the country and made it very fun!! We would definitely do it again!
Mr. Julian was our tour guide. My party was running late and didn't make it to the pick up point on time. As we were walking toward the spot, he was driving up and about to pass us. I flagged him down, gave him everyone's name in my party and he allowed us to join the tour. He did not have to do this and we appreciate it. He was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed learning about the Bahamas history. He even bought corn fritters for our group to try. It was delicious. Thank you, Mr. Julian!
Had the BEST time with an amazing tour guide! Our tour guide took us through Nassau, not just in the touristy areas, but truly to see the culture! Highly recommend.
Very good tour . I docked on other side of cruise port so had to walk to other end to find. Locals helped me locate . About a 5 min walk . My guide was nice and very knowledgeable. The food stop was delicious. Loved that we went into local areas as well and had times where we could get off and shop or walk around and tour guide would pick us up. Definitely would do again
Amazing tour! We had a blast and got to sample some local specialties. Tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. Great way to see the island! Would absolutely recommend.
We were 3 minutes late to the tour and our guide did not wait for us to hop on the bus before departing. We were called and forcibly told to meet the tour at the first stop. Once we joined the tour, our guide was not very personable. The only positive comment I have is that we were offered refreshments to stay hydrated in the heat.
Amazing island tour! 🏝 You have to take it
We had Shakira as our tour guide. She was FANTASTIC!!!! We loved her! Nassau is NOT that nice a city away from the cruise port and resorts, it just isn't....but she made the tour the best it could be given the material to work with. Loved the conch fritter sample and the tea place, tum cake factory was ok but crowded. Not what we thought it would be....very poor area, lots of trash, vacant lots, dumpy homes but that is not the tour's fault. Loved the open air bus we wete one, ice cold water provided. Shakira was fun and knowledgable, very accomodating just don't expect to see much on the tour.
Fonzie was a ball of energy and very knowledgeable about the Bahamian culture. Travel throughout the city learning their culture. Great excursions!
Fontella was the most knowledgeable and passionate tour guide operator I have ever had. Truly enjoyed the tour A must when you visit Nassau.
The tour takes you around to most of Nassau's major historical sites. The tram transportation added a bit of fun. This quality of this tour is greatly increased by the personality and enthusiasm of the guide. Our guide was informative but lacked that personality that would have made the trip much better. If you want to get out and see Some of Nassau's history and beauty, this is the trip for you.
I want to share that our experience with Chippies was phenomenal!!! We had Julian as our tour master, and he was fabulous and very personable! We were truly pleased with his historical knowledge of island and local history insights which I found very interesting and wasn't aware of. I enjoyed our time at Taste Treats (conch fritters, the best on the island) and the Ice Cream Shop next door to it, was so delicious with their natural island flavors (guava cheesecake on a waffle cone - yummy) were truly enjoyable for my grandbabies and teenage son. I found some tiny shells with my two grandbabies (5 yrs old and 2 yrs old) at the beach inlet at Ft. Montague - I have my tiny seashell on my desk, as I collect shells from all my travels. We truly enjoyed the unplanned situation of two local young men riding up next to us while driving down the road and offering us mangos - let me tell you, I was in the back and got up and received two sweet mangos and they made it back home to Florida with me in my carry on luggage - yes they did, the most sweetest and juiciest mango from the Bahamas!!! I love traveling to places, and experiencing true island life and vibe just sharing with locals just like that - when locals come up to you and share their local gifts with you! Beautiful memories made just by riding along with Julian with Chippies! We shall be back for sure to do more Chippies around Nassau and recommending Chippies, and hoping they get Julian!!
The views from the boat was amazing !
Great experience with our Tour Guide! She was amazing and super popular in the area. She had much energy and put everyone at ease. She didn't hassle for a tip Although she deserved it. Perfect for large Families like mine. Safe. Affordable. Great experience.
Just simply AMAZING!! Loved everything about it!! From food samples to great laughs!! It’s a must try ❤️.
Chippies was a phenomenal experience… Walking in, we could feel the love and warm from all the workers, and the owner. Mr. Chipman was especially nice and courteous and his place has great drinks, great food, great music, great atmosphere, all right on the beach, Clear water white, sandy ocean, great place… If you’re visiting Nassau, check out Chippies it’s the place to go..
We missed our excursion due to my mistake with time difference. They called to check on us and refunded our money which we never ask for a refund or expected one. I would definitely book with them if we come back to Nassau.
This tour was a great introduction to Nassau. Allison, our driver, was sweet and knowledgeable. Out the gate, we visited the store where they sell rum cakes. I love these cakes! I enjoyed learning about some of the history, current affairs, and locals. Some of the places I hoped to visit while here were completed on this tour like the Queen's Staircase, Straw Market, etc. It just freed up time to explore elsewhere.
I had a great experience with chippies tour! The tour guide was such a sweetheart!! She was very informative and she made the whole experience fun. I felt very safe in her care!! I would definitely recommend to book this experience with her!!
The overall tour was fun and interactive. The driver was really nice and explained a lot. I think some of the itinerary should be revised because we got there 30 mins early like specified and had no idea where to go and then the little shuttle came closer to start time instead. We also thought there would be more food tastings and stop at the fish fry but we just drove straight past it. Also spent 40 mins at Atlantis casino and shops which seems like a waste of time. Since you have to walk over there and that took about 5-10 mins to get there instead of being dropped off.
It is a great way to explore Nassau in 2 hours. To see, and listen/learn about the city through an honest and pleasant guide.
Wonderful exchange between guests and Fonzie. She was energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! She imparted pertinent information about the island's industry, businesses and people. I loved that she also shared information about how Atlantis and Baha Mars impacted the locals. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Not worth the price or your time. The places we visited were not exciting at all. We stopped at a rum cake factory with the hopes that we would learn something about this traditional product, production or history, but nothing at all, they gave us a sample and shared the price and bye. Same with the tea company stop. We spent half of the tour sitting in traffic. The guide was nice but the tour content was not the best, we did not feel the culture at all. At one stop the driver even mentioned we were going to get samples of their traditional conch fritters abut when we arrived at the place they were did not have any....
When we arrive they were 10 mins late! The man pulled up and was advise by his manager that she was around the block to get us. An he loaded the other passenger on his van. & we had to wait in the hot sun for another 10 mins and when she showed up she we thought she was going to load up on her bus. Nope that didn't happen. She told us we going on his bus. & we all ask why did we have to wait if we was getting on the first bus that showed up ! She said because I said so. She was very rude and had no customer service skills. She basically said we get on the bus or get the money back. I personally wouldn't book with this company again. The tour bus driver guy he was great and friendly and shows us a good tour.
Fonzi was unbelievable- we so enjoyed ourselves! It was a wonderful 1st day experience in Nassau - we learned so much about the community and culture!!
Family..Birthday..the experience was not the best! The owner was not respectful of our time and no apologies. We arrived well in advance with my full party. She had a bus show up and would not allow my party who paid in advance over a month ago board she had her driver allow others who paid same day board 1st bus. Only to be told when she the owner (very rude a disrespectful) tell us you go on the 1st bus. I had a issue with that because she did not apologize for any inconvenience. So I said to her that was not cool my party as a whole was not happy how it happened. The owner YELLS if you dont like it you can go or get your money back. (NO manners) as a owner if you are not appreciative of tge business 😉 find another business. With that being said. I would never recommend for this tour. They rush you through the tour... a very dissatisfied group of 18 in our party. It could have been handled a lot better.
If you're on the fence, BOOK THIS TOUR! Fontella (aka Fonzy) was funny, knowledgeable, and made us feel like family from the moment we stepped on the shuttle. I'm pretty sure she knows half the island—and the other half knows her! 😂 Her cousin Caleb was the sweetest young man and an awesome co-guide. The open-air shuttle was exactly as pictured and the perfect way to explore the island. We had an amazing time and would 100% book this tour again!
