I am genuinely shocked that this property operates under the Hyatt brand. I am a Hyatt Globalist, and before focusing my loyalty on Hyatt I was Titanium with Marriott. One of the main reasons I shifted my stays toward Hyatt was the level of service I consistently associated with the brand. Unfortunately, the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar was the complete opposite of what I have come to expect from Hyatt. And to be clear, this is not about expecting special treatment because I am a Globalist. Even if I had no status at all, every guest staying at this hotel is paying to be here and deserves to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. Guests should not be made to feel as though employees are doing them a favor by helping them. They are not doing anyone a favor. This is their job, and hospitality is literally the business they are in. The service throughout this property was absolutely terrible. So many employees looked unhappy, annoyed, or simply uninterested in helping guests. Whether you are asking a question, ordering something, or literally spending money at the property, you are frequently treated as if the staff is doing you a favor just by assisting you. There is a serious hospitality and customer service problem here. This was not one bad interaction with one employee. It was the overall attitude we experienced throughout the stay. The restaurants were another disappointment. At Cleo, despite having an 8:30 PM reservation and arriving early, we waited around 40 minutes and were not seated until approximately 9:00 PM. Multiple other guests were complaining about the same issue. At Katsuya, the food was average and overpriced, but the service was even worse. My wife was freezing, and when I asked to move to an available table outside, we were initially refused simply because it would mean changing servers. An employee even claimed that the manager had denied our request, which turned out not to be true when I eventually spoke directly with the manager. The manager herself handled the situation professionally, but the experience leading up to that point was unacceptable. This property seriously needs to rethink how it trains, manages, and hires its customer facing staff. People choose Hyatt because they trust the brand and expect a certain standard of hospitality. In my opinion, this hotel does not come remotely close to that standard. Putting the Grand Hyatt name on a property creates expectations, and this hotel simply does not deliver the level of service associated with Hyatt. I was so disappointed that I contacted Hyatt directly to share my experience because I genuinely believe Hyatt corporate should evaluate whether this property is representing the brand appropriately. I would never return to this hotel. There are too many good hotels and resorts in the world to spend this kind of money somewhere that makes guests feel unwelcome. For me, this was not a Hyatt experience at all.

We have now visited twice and personally love Baha Mar. Our first stay was our 10th Anniversary, just my wife and me, with a split stay between Rosewood and Grand Hyatt. We had the best time. Ever since, my kids have been begging to go. My daughter said it was her "dream" to visit Baha Mar. So, when our family cruise this summer to celebrate our 15th Anniversary was stopping in Nassau, we made it a point to come to Baha Mar, but our experience was truly a memorable surprise. What we thought would be a simple visit turned into an unforgettable experience, thanks to Aranah Lloyd, who went above and beyond to make it exceptional. His generosity will never be forgotten. He is definitely an asset to the hotel. Upon check-in, Kendesha was wonderful and a breath of fresh air. She was friendly, warm, and along with I believe her manager next to her, made the experience great. We truly appreciated their hospitality in helping make a simple visit something remarkable for my entire family. Without going into details, just know that Baha Mar is an amazing destination and simply being kind to the staff goes a long way. If you value gorgeous scenery, multiple pools, beautiful waterpark, and an expansive resort, Baha Mar is a great destination. If you're lucky enough to get Aranah and Kendesha's hospitality, it's even better! We can't wait to return for a 3rd time and have recommended it to all our friends.
We just got back from a stay at Grand Hyatt Reserve at Baha Mar in Nassau, and it was truly outstanding from start to finish. Our room had gorgeous ocean views and was immaculate the entire trip — housekeeping kept it spotless and the service throughout our stay was excellent. Being in The Reserve gave our vacation an extra level of comfort and privacy that made the whole experience feel elevated. There is a complimentary breakfast that even had gluten free/ dairy free options, delicious avocado toast and coffee. A great way to start the day. Well located on the property, nothing felt like too much of a walk. The dining was a real highlight. We ate our way around the resort and everything was fantastic — Marcus, the Chinese restaurant, Swimming Pig, Horse to Water, Stix, and Mangnolia all delivered great food and great vibes. Every meal felt like part of the vacation rather than just a stop along the way. The bars throughout the property like the Cigar Bar, pool bar and beach bars were also fun. The food trucks and BBQ were also a hit. We had a big group of 12. There was also no shortage of things to do. We spent time at the water park, played pickleball, tried our luck gambling, and split time between the pool and the beach. We also spent a full day at Nexus, which was a great change of pace and a highlight of the trip. Shoutout to the hardworking staff at Nexus who served us food and drinks by the pool. It was also Independence Day weekend. The hotel had fun activities throughout like Junkanoo, fireworks, popup food tents, BBQ etc which was fun. What really made this vacation special, though, was the people. I want to give a specific and heartfelt thank you to the front desk staff at The Reserve, who were attentive, warm, and made us feel taken care of every single day. A special shoutout to our Butler, Vincent Saunders, whose thoughtfulness and attention to detail elevated our entire stay — he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and has even checked in post stay. Between the beautiful accommodations, the incredible food, the endless activities, and especially the exceptional staff, our stay at The Reserve at Baha Mar exceeded every expectation. We'll absolutely be back. For all my fellow gluten free/ diary free people, we did feel like they were very aware of allergies and respectful of them. At every meal we were asked who had allergies and there was always a few options available, or they adjusted the meal to accommodate. i.e. gluten free bun for a burger etc.
4/10 at best. Food was mediocre at best, Marcus was good. BBQ place was good. Rest were not. Beach is small, super super crowded, difficult to get chairs , and annoying with all the people selling souvenirs crap. All day long. Rooms were not very clean or well kept. The pools were nice though; seating was difficult unless you paid $$ to reserve a cabana or something. If you paid for that then it was a great day at the pools. They closed half the beach for half the day basically to set up for something that evening about 10 people were at. Saw the ice cream stand person close the door when a kid was standing there waiting to get an ice cream, closed because it was 7:00 on the dot. They had been in line for like 10 min. No one else in line. Just said closed…told the kid and his dad sorry no more. Terrible example of service when you spend thousands to stay here. Would not come recommend staying here. Just felt like a tourist trap to be honest.
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and came away really impressed. What stood out most to me was how much there is to do while still feeling like you can create the type of vacation you want. Whether you're looking for a family trip, a couples getaway, a golf weekend, or a group trip, the resort truly offers something for everyone. The property is beautiful, the pools are spread out enough that they never felt overwhelmingly crowded, and the beach exceeded my expectations. I also appreciated the variety of dining options. Marcus Fish + Chop House was a standout meal, and I loved seeing the food trucks along the beach for a more casual option. Service throughout the resort was consistently friendly and welcoming. The team clearly takes pride in the property and was eager to help whenever needed. One tip I'd give future guests: make dining reservations in advance, especially during busier travel periods. With so many great restaurants on property, you'll want to have a plan. As a travel advisor, I had booked many clients here before experiencing it myself. After seeing it firsthand, I have an even better understanding of why so many of them return and why Grand Hyatt Baha Mar continues to be one of my most requested resorts. Highly recommend for travelers looking for a resort with great amenities, excellent dining, beautiful grounds, and plenty of options for both relaxation and fun.
