Transfer From Naples To Pompei

Today our cruise ship stopped in Naples. Our travel agent booked us a four hour tour of Pompeii with WorldTours. We have done a lot of tours on this cruise (family of four with two teenagers) and the week prior in Rome, and this was the most unprofessional and a let down. The meeting point instructions were very vague on the location. Other providers at other ports give much more instruction and even photos of where to meet. Our “tour guide” (she wasn’t really a tour guide, more of an admin type- didn’t appear licensed, barely interacted with us- she was just a World Tours rep) wasn’t very friendly and didn’t interact or engage with anyone. We were supposed to meet at 7:50 and leave at 8. We were taken to a bus where we waited for people from another cruise ship, and didn’t leave the port area until 8:25. The bus was old and the AC was poor- we were sweating. We drove to another location and sat waiting- without any explanation as to what was going on! We didn’t start the drive to Pompeii until about 8:45am. On the way to Pompeii the “tour guide” spoke for about 2 minutes about Vesuvius. No information on Naples, etc. No explanation of what we were going to be doing. Pretty much silence. When we arrived at Pompeii, everyone unloaded the bus and I had to ask for us to receive the bottles of water that were to be provided with the tour (it was a very hot and sunny day). We met with an official tour guide, thankfully, for Pompeii. She was very good and knowledgeable- and she is the sole reason this isn’t a one start review. Our actual tour of Pompeii was only two hours. When we boarded the bus back no additional water was offered and there was no discussion or anything from the WorldTours rep. It was very awkward. The WorldTours rep clearly wanted a tip of some sort but as she had done pretty much nothing it was so awkward (we did tip the Pompeii tour guide). We were so let down because we had had so many fabulous experience with tour guides in Rome, Greece, and Turkey.

Our hotel booked a transfer from Naples to Pompeii and back. I didn't realize we would be getting an experienced tour guide in the deal. Raffaele was extremely engaging and entertaining. Had a great energy and a fun, positive vibe. We learned a lot of interesting facts on the trip. I would highly recommend him. Went beyond all of our expectations.

The service provider by Mirko Spatuzzi from Napoli to Pompeii and then from Pompeii to Positano was excellent. He is a great driver, super attentive and educated.

The driver Antonio C. was very friendly and courteous. He helped us with luggage loading and unloading. He also stopped at couple of great view points for pictures.

We had an amazing experience with World Tours Italy, booking two back-to-back day tours with them, and everything exceeded our expectations. On the first day, we traveled from Naples to Pompeii with our guide Tommy and driver Enzo. The bus was in excellent condition, and both Tommy and Enzo were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The drive was smooth and comfortable, and the local guide arranged for us at Pompeii was also fantastic—bringing the history of the site to life in a memorable way. The next day, we toured Sorrento, Positano, and the Amalfi Coast with our guide Nadia and driver Daniello. Once again, the experience was outstanding. Nadia was very knowledgeable and engaging, and the views along the coast were absolutely mesmerizing. A special touch was running into Tommy again at all three stops—he was just as warm and friendly as the day before, which made the experience feel even more personal. They even arranged a short boat tour for us in Amalfi and kindly helped take photos—small gestures that made a big difference. Overall, everything was seamless, convenient, and well-organized. I would highly recommend World Tours Italy and would definitely book with them again. Totally worth it! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The tour of Pompeii with Teresa was a truly historic experience on a grand scale. We hadn’t quite appreciated the size of the place until we got there, but it is vast. Prepare to do plenty of walking but it doesn’t feel that way. Well paced and plenty of historic facts and time to ourselves. We were picked up in time by Mery and our driver and Mery gave us a potted history of the place, expertly in 3 different languages. Great tour, well organised.

Throughly enjoyed the guided tour around Pompeii with Theresa. Mery our bus guide was very friendly and informative.

We booked a private transfer from our hotel in Naples to Pompeii, and our driver, Domenico, made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. He was prompt, professional, and incredibly kind. During the drive, he pointed out landmarks and shared bits of local history — it felt like a mini tour before we even arrived! Domenico coordinated directly with our guide in Pompeii to make sure we were dropped off and picked up in the right spots, and he patiently waited for us during our tour. Afterward, he kindly offered to drop us off in Naples city center instead of back at our hotel so we could enjoy lunch. He even recommended an amazing local pizza spot (which did not disappoint!) and shared additional tips for how to spend the rest of our afternoon. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver — friendly, engaging, and thoughtful. Highly recommend Domenico for any transfers or excursions in and around Naples!

We booked the private Transfer from Airport Napoli/Napels to Pompeij. Perfect decision! With our driver Riccardo we got ourselves the most polite, funny, safe and fast driver we could wish for.

Tomoso was excellent. He played a song “ so you want to be Americano” and then Showed us how an Americano walks. Very enjoyable.

We have hired the transfer from Naples to Pompeii for speed and comfort and it was a success. We have travelled comfortable and the trip has been very pleasant.
