Itinerary
Let me introduce you to the historical and also modern-day stories of this enchanting my city, Naples. Let's go for a walk past the main highlights together and I'd be more than happy to show you some local hidden spots as well. The itinerary is flexible and up to you. I will guide you through the most remarkable historical spots of the city, but with particular focus on UNDERGROUND LOCATIONS. A must is the visit of the Underground City "Neapolis Sotterrata" where through the entrance of a Medieval Cloister we will reach the greek and the roman life of Neapolis. . . all of this at 12 mt underneath the chaos of the city! Once upstairs again, after a cool neapolitan coffe or a sfogliatella (typical dolce!) we are ready to visit and to understand the cult of the Deads in the underground church of Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio ad Arco in the heart of Napoli, in via dei Tribunali. We will finish visiting the underground of the Duomo of Napoli Are you ready?

Daniella was amazing. She gave us so much insight to the city. She truly wanted us to have the best tour. She took us to the underground then out and about she went showing us the city. She immersed us into the culture.
Riccardo was wonderful and an ideal guide for this trip. His knowledge of the local area and history of his country was amazing and enlightening. I would highly recommend Riccardo not just for this tour but also suggest requesting him for other historical and archaeological sites like Pompeii and the Herculaneum.
Our tour guide Simone was excellent and pointed out things on our way and after the underground visit. The underground itself was not very long constituting less than an hour.
Olivio was our tour guide, was a very knowledgeable man who took our young family up and down the two different HUGE underground areas. Loved the insight into the history and flexibility in showing us around. Young kids 12yo and 8yo on the tour and he handled it with ease.
This was a must do fantastic tour if you are in Napoli! Our tour guide, Raffaele, was a true scholar on both the history and archeology of Napoli and the underground city that lies beneath. We learned so much and were inspired by Raffaele’s knowledge and passion for the fascinating layers of Napoli’s ancient history. Don’t miss this tour with Raffaele!
This was advertised on Trip Advisor as a PRIVATE tour; this is NOT a private tour of the underground. The guide, which was great, walks you to the underground tour area, where you purchase your own tickets (which we knew ahead of time was not included). We thought this program was used to provide our own guide for the Underground, instead of being in a group of 40 to 50 people, but it was not private.
Riccardo our tour guide was inspiring. His knowledge of both above ground and underground Napoli not only taught us, it made us feel welcome to Napoli. We can now appreciate much more of how special is the city of Napoli culturally, archeologically, historically. The underground of Napoli is a wonder of the world. A must see. Grazie mille Riccardo! We had a great tour with Maria through the city and parts of the Underground. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and we saw some amazing sites. Highly recommend this tour if you're in Napoli.
Maria was a great guide! We enjoyed learning so much from her! She was very personable and gave us great information!
Excellent tour. The guide was very knowledgeable. although this tour was advertised as an English speaking tour, the guide was very difficult to understand. We probably missed at least 1/3 of the information.
Excellent tour with Livio so much information and interesting facts we really enjoyed his guidance Above and below was very interesting
Ricardo was an excellent guide, an archeologist with patience to explain such interesting facts and explain the history in an engaging way. A must if you want to understand the history of the Napoli people.
Understanding who lived there and when. Fascinating to understand the different levels. Quiet. No crowds.
this was a great tour, and Riccardo was an amazing guide. he knows everywhere is to know about Napoli and the surrounding area, from ancient history to modern restaurants.
This Underground tour was AMAZING!! Raffaele is super knowledgeable archeologist who speaks perfect English! The best tour guide company Naples has to offer. The underground city was the perfect escape and not claustrophobic at all. What an amazing archeological site hidden right under our feet.
Highly recommended tour to see a different side of Naples and learn more about the city's history. The tour begins in the underground areas that were used in ancient times and later as a shelter during the second war, and continues through the streets of the historic district. Very interesting. It lasts an hour and a half and it is advisable to book.
Beautiful and interesting visit Our guide Gabriella made us a very nice activity with beautiful discoveries
A beautiful discovery. Very interesting. Too bad it is not possible to make the visit in French. Our guide spoke English with a strong accent and very fast.
Very nice, worth a visit. Guide very prepared.I would return xchè was really engaging.E strictly forbidden to take pictures.
Beautiful discovery of Naples, next to S. Lorenzo Maggiore. Do the tour with the guide, the extra 2 euros are all deserved, the guy who accompanied us is very good and captivating
Wonderful visit with Rossella a very nice and prepared special guide made us know a lot about the history of Naples with many smiles and much carefree thanks a lot
Very nice walk under the city, our guide was very interesting and the places are amazing! The price is correct for 50min.
Finally we were able to admire what had been described to us by friends, a wonder, accompanied by the enthusiasm and professionalism of Rossella a unique guide who transmitted his knowledge in a simple, understandable way and made us participate emotionally in the tour! Thank you very much!
Henrita was passionate and very interesting. She took the time to share with us a lot of information and stories throughout this wonderful visit.
Above San Gregorio Armeno next to the church of San Lorenzo Maggiore there is this wonder of Naples underground (not to be confused with the most famous “underground”) the visit was very beautiful, instructive and pleasant especially for the fabulous guide Giulia who with wisdom and lightness led us into this wonder telling us a thousand interesting details. So if you do this visit do it with the guides!!! Bravi ( brava Giulia )
A very interesting experience to do with the guide, especially Rossella, to get a glimpse of Naples over the centuries (from the Greeks to the Romans to get to the medieval period).
Very interesting visit was a nice discovery. Special thanks to our guide Francesco, excellent illustration of the site's history.
Federica has been an excellent guide, very professional. We toured the historic center and then the underground promenade. Highly recommended
The visit was very interesting. My friend visited the museum, full of artifacts from every era. I'm just the buried part. Guide was very good. The place is well maintained. The toilet spotlessly clean
Archaeological site intact under the ground of a church and usually crowded streets. Ticket purchased on site and possibility of Guide. A real surprise, exciting especially because the remains are practically intact.
Impressive, I know the Naples quote very well, but it was an impressive visit! Full of historical information!! The driving was exciting!
Visit to the shop area of ancient Naples beneath the San Lorenzo complex Superb experience. I recommend doing it with a guide (symbolic price of €2 each)
Napoli sotterata was recommended to us by a local lady. I must say that the visit was very interesting. Danilo, our young guide, was very knowledgeable and with his kindness he attracted the attention of the whole group, leaving us some of his knowledge.
A really great tour by Simone. Competent, varied, entertaining and no question was left unanswered. Both the tour and the guide are highly recommended! Grazie mille, Simone!
Good experience. Without claustrophobic problems. Well maintained and interesting The girls at the counter were very efficient and kind They provided us with information both on the buried Naples and on the means of transport to take for the next half The girl at the toilets was also kind!
Me encantó, la guía muy simpática y preparada. La zona subterráneo alucinante y curiosa Recomendable 100x100
I was very surprised, very interesting, there are tours also in Spanish, it is not as claustrophobic as it seems, just a stretch, which if you want you can skip... The guides are very nice
Archaeological site not to be missed. We recommend the visit with a guide. We were accompanied by Francis, who with his preparation and sympathy made the route fascinating and pleasant.
Without reservation we lined up and after about three quarters of an hour we entered the cost of the ticket 10 euros (they are all worth them) accompany you with a guide in this case Italian our was called Deborah very good. Not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia otherwise very interesting.
Beautiful guided tour inside the underground city, the guide, Antonio, made the visit, although brief, interesting and fun. I absolutely recommend
It was the first initiative we took part in during our short Neapolitan holiday. It consists of visiting the buried parts at the church of San Lorenzo Maggiore. The rate is certainly not cheap (9 euros each) to which I highly recommend adding another 2 euros (payable exclusively in cash) for the guide, who in our case was a very prepared and equally nice young man. The visit allows you to learn about a fragment of the millennial history of the city, formerly submerged by meters of mud descended from the surrounding hills that have nevertheless allowed you to preserve very well remains of Greek and Roman architecture. In a simple and sometimes even funny way, the boy who accompanied us described many aspects of life at the time, also illustrating some ingenious construction techniques and allowing us to learn many interesting notions, enriching a little our cultural baggage. Driving undoubtedly by applause, entrance fee in my opinion a bit expensive. Overall it was a great experience, which I recommend to everyone.
We participated in the guided tour of the “Underground City”, depth of about 10 meters. Visit very interesting and well explained by the guide. Although it is only a small part of the whole Underground Naples tour, it really deserves it.
Beautiful experience best explained by the guide, you visit the ruins that are about ten meters underground. Very nice
We visited Naples buried a bit by chance because there was too much queue for underground Naples. It was a very positive experience that made us discover an interesting glimpse of Naples that encompasses in half an hour of visit all the history, from the Greek settlement to the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages and up to the present day. I highly recommend a guided tour, optional but very important to understand what stood on those excavations and how the hidden city has transformed over time. Guides very prepared and nice.
We were underground in this tour to visit the underground Naples, suggestive and full of history. Not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia. That's interesting. Cost 10 euros. Good and prepared guide.
excellent guided tour, cultured and complete without being pedantic and didactic. The place is definitely worth the visit for its historical importance and for the atmosphere that is created along a small staircase that takes you back centuries.
Preserved very well, Naples submerged by a flood of mud. Beautiful as all Naples, demonstration many times , how the birth of a new city leaves fabulous testimonies. And 'thanks has these testimonies and the engaging work of explanation of the guide, a very polite and prepared boy, we were able to admire architectural styles and moments of daily life of a long time ago. These guys, thanks to their commitment culturally, and from an employment point of view, they provide economic support to several families in Naples. Thank you. Fabrizio and Emanuela , Mantua
Beautiful tour, with a very good guide, who well explained the historical "stratification" from Greek Naples, to Roman Naples, up to the medieval one. You walk on a thistle that connected the two decumani, from Roman times. Recommended!
Unique experience and absolutely to be included in the to do list when visiting Naples. Very knowledgeable guide. Recommended!
