Riccardo was our guide for this tour. Being a local Neopolitan as well as an actual archeologist, he was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. It definitely helped us as Napoli newcomers to orient ourselves and learn more about a city with such a wonderfully complex and multifaceted history. We were also introduced to gems that we would have otherwise missed had we been exploring on our own. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Napoli!

This was an excellent tour. Raphael is probably one of the most knowledgeable and personable tour guides I've ever had. He was able to answer every question we had with confidence and told wonderful stories to help us relate to the experience. I appreciated the fact he went at a comfortable pace as well. I highly recommend him!.
After an amazing tour with Raffaele in Naples, we had to book another one with him for Pompeii—and wow, what a decision that was! Raffaele took an already incredible site and somehow made it even more fascinating with his energy, knowledge, and storytelling skills. He’s an absolute legend. His passion for history is infectious, and the way he brought the ruins of Pompeii to life was nothing short of masterful. Raffaele didn’t just show us the highlights—he gave us a deep, immersive experience that made us feel like we were walking through the ancient city as it once was. Every detail he shared, from daily life in ancient Rome to the events of the eruption, was told with clarity, humor, and a genuine love for what he does. He answered all our questions with ease and kept the entire group engaged from start to finish. If you’re heading to Pompeii and want to truly understand and appreciate what you’re seeing, Raffaele is the guide you need. Professional, passionate, and absolutely unforgettable. Can’t recommend him enough!
Rafael was amazing, super knowledgeable, and so patient. He answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to make sure it was a great tour. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!!! THANK YOU RAFAEL FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!
Simone did a great job! Very comfortable walking pace, good knowledge of area, and advice on shopping.
Most expensive - $390 - and ridiculous 4 hours spent in Naples on an “archeological” tour. Great guide but basically it was just a walkabout of the city of Naples which does not have much to show compared to other sights in Italy. Shame on the tour company
Excellent guide with Raffaele who had so much knowledge about all that we saw and was able to show us so much more than normal guide books. He was so proud of his heritage and culture and this just shone through during the tour. He got us past the crowds and being such a small group tour we could adapt and see things and ask questions at any time and he always had an answer for us as his knowledge is superb. Would definitely use again when we return
Amazing tour, excellent guide, Francesca is very knowledgeable and is able to answer any questions you may ask her. It's worth every cent and I recommend it to anyone that wants to get to know Napoli well.
Our guide was a true historian. He was so knowledgeable about the cities historical background. It was a very eye opening tour with a lot of history of the region. The only negative would be he spoke fast with an accent a little hard to understand some times
I've taken a few virtual tours now with Naples Grand Tour. This past Sunday I hosted a wine spicing event with several friends from around the US and Canada. Raffaele provided history as well as instructions about how to create wine drinks from the time of Pompeii through the Renaissance. It was so much fun. Everyone loved it and it was a chance for us Covid-bound people to experience a little bit of Italy on a Sunday afternoon. It was wonderful! Highly recommend.
Virtual Raffaele is clearly almost as engaging as the reviews in person. We would definitely book him for a future trip to Napoli! He is experienced, amusing and offers information beyond what is generally available on line. We actually loved the format where he used videos and pananoramic photographs to orient us to the charms of Naples. Really liked that he started us at the city center as though we were on a walking tour. And his photograph of the margherita pizza at the end of his 1 1/2 hour presentation compelled us to order one from our local upscale pizzaria.
Raffaele is a wonderful guide! In addition to the Naples tour, I also went to Herculaneum with him and a few others from our first tour. He is very personable, great at answering questions you may have, and the pace is excellent for both novices and experts. The pricing is also unbeatable. I went to both the underground tour and a ragú restaurant he recommended in Naples, both were wonderful. Raffaele also makes himself available for further questions after the tour via various methods of communication. I definitely recommend taking a tour if you’re in the area!
Raffaele showed us around Naples on the Saturday and we saw and learned an incredible amount about the culture, architecture and food of Naples. Raffaele was amazing and even went out of his way to ensure we got tickets for the football that evening. We met him again on the Sunday and his knowledge of Pompeii was hugely informative( I am a history teacher and have been many times) and I learned many things about this historic site I did not know. I can not recommend him enough- even though his girlfriend wouldn’t let him come to the football with us!
We had a last minute change of plans and emailed Rafaela at Naples Grand Tour. She set us up with a fantastic lady,Roberta, who met us outside Garibaldi station. We had a delightful tour of Naples old city center, saw churches and historical buildings that we would have missed on our own! Her enthusiasm and a grasp of history, recalling names and dates was truly amazing. She treated us to the best cafe in Naples and took us to the special street,Via San Gregorio Armeno, where artisan shops have been carving and creating crêches for over 800 years. I have always wanted to see this and Roberta got me there! We have had many tours and this lady was one of the BEST!!! Grazie Mille!
We really enjoyed our tour of Naples with our guide Teresa. She is very knowledgeable and seemed to greatly enjoy passing this on to us. While it would be impossible to remember everything she told us there is no doubt we now know so much more about the history, culture and architecture of Naples. She was also keen to make recommendations of what we should see and do during the rest of our stay as well as where to get the best sfogliatelle, coffee and pizza and not just the most famous locations. I would recommend this tour with Teresa as a guide.
The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, but there was no structure to the tour and the amount of walking was impractical for the weather . It was also annoying that entry was not included to any major attraction and we had to find small change even to see the metro station !
À 5 star review for Rafaele , the best guide you will ever come across . He is not only knowledgeable, but also passionate and enthusiastic about his job , he never runs out of stories to share about his fascinating city which he is proud of , and quite rightly so! Rafaele also has great people’s skills and a gentle nature . Don’t look any further , he is the best guide you will ever find and you will learn so much about Naples and the region . His tour is a MUST !
Our family group ranged from 19/20 years (our children) to 75 (mom) of age. I asked Raffaele to design a tour that blended my wife’s and mine interest in history to my mother’s fondness for shopping. Thus we spent an excellent morning in the Museo Arqueológico de Napoli. Raffaele is the perfect guide for this world-class institution. His erudition and communication skills are impressive. Then we walked through the beautiful Bay of Napoli to a great Neapolitan restaurant. Afterwards we enjoyed the best coffee at historical Caffe Gambrinus. In the afternoon we visited the elegant Galleria Umberto I for some window shopping. At my wife’s request Raffaele took us to the Duomo (Cattedrale di San Gennaro). The most spiritually moving church we have visited in Europe. To cap the tour we visited a cameo workshop and then were shown through the charming shopping district, to my mom’s delight. In sum, it was our consensus that we could had not made a better choice. We look forward to meeting Raffaele on our visit to Sorrento and Amalfi. Post data: Don’t believe the stories you read about criminality and disorder in Naples. If you get to experience the real Naples you will find it is a vibrant, charming and elegant city. We have been many times to Italy, and on our next visit we will have our base in Napoli instead of Roma. I brought back the conviction that in a few years Napoli will be the next cultural and touristic gem of Italy. Ciao! Mariano Vidal
Daniela est une fantastique guide, qui nous a montré Naples de façon très agréable, instructive et intéressante. Nious la recommandions vivement!
We wanted to understand the soul of this city, beyond the beauty of its monuments. We chose to do the tour only my husband and I and it was an experience that satisfied us completely. Our guide Alessandra (educated, witty and witty) grasped what we were interested in knowing and opened her heart to us about the love for this city, telling us anecdotes, curiosities, for example how great religious ardor could be combined with a visceral superstition. We have known and discovered a Naples of people and feelings, what a banal printed guide would never have given us. Cultural and artistic competence of the highest level, ça va sans dire!
Massimo guida simpatica e molto competente! Ama molto la sua città e trasmette tutto il suo entusiasmo! Grazie
The visit with Raffaele was very interesting, both through the streets of Naples and inside the San Severo Chapel; he seemed to me a sociable and helpful person, prepared and eager to transmit his passion for the city through the story of anecdotes that you do not read in the guides. I highly recommend this experience!
We took a walking tour in the historic center of Naples and we were lucky enough to find in my opinion the most prepared and passionate guide we could have. According to my family including me she was so cute. Very sweet and calm she transmitted all her knowledge making us passionate about what we visited. I recommend to those who should have this experience to find the guide called Grace. Thank you on behalf of my family. See you next time.
Walking through the historic center of Naples with Raffaele was exciting. He communicated to us with competence, professionalism and courtesy the passion he feels for his city and the pride to show and illustrate the monuments and beautiful views that the old city offers. We also visited the Certosa di San Martino and the archaeological site of Cuma where we appreciated not only his artistic expertise but also the historical and archaeological one. We were a very large group, but Raffaele was able to keep the attention of all the participants. Advice!!
It was a beautiful walk to discover Naples. Massimo, our guide, was engaging and gave us all his passion for the history of his city. The combination of art history, city culture and street art is very interesting. Unforgettable experience! Marco and Martina
We are a couple and we decided to take Raffaele as our private guide to discover the best of Naples in one day. It was the most apt choice! A real investment! We discovered places, flavors, hidden corners, situations that we could never find on our own. Visiting with a local guide in love with their culture is something that goes beyond the classic discovery of the beauties of the past. You need to have this experience to understand what it means to leave these places with something extra in your luggage. Not only art, flavors and breathtaking views, but also a careful analysis of a city that turned out to be very different from expectations. Raffaele has been able to transmit his passion and love for Neapolitan culture through the 360 'exploration of a Naples in continuous evolution often misunderstood by most people. From the underground to the heights of the Certosa, a bit like a big “lasagna”;) we felt all those emotions that will soon take us back to these places for a necessary second round! Bravo Raffaele! Thank you for all the suggestions that made our holiday memorable and full of pleasant surprises. See you soon!
