Private Capri Island And Blue Grotto Day Tour From Naples Or Sorrento

This full-day 15-person tour of Capri with Luigi was sparkling! A lovely day in terms of the weather; an early start to get ahead of the crowds; varied experiences ranging from garden and street walks in Capri to a chair lift adventure in Anacapri followed, there, by free time for a terrific lunch, and capped by a circumnavigation of the island. Relaxed ferry rides between there and Sorrento and back by 4 pm. Just a perfect day.

Vincenzo made the experience amazing! He helped my grandfather with mobility issues walk and do things we didn’t think he could do. He allowed us to do everything we wanted and more!

Vincenzo was a wonderful host! Our family had an amazing time touring Capri and seeing all of the beautiful sights. Vincenzo made sure we were always taken care of and he shared all of the hidden gems including the best meal we had on our trip!

We had a fantastic experience in Capri with a private tour from Viator. Our guide, Lucia, was delightful, with warm hospitality, wide knowledge and excellent English. She communicated with us in advance of our arrival, greeted us at the ferry pier and was very flexible to modify our plans on the fly as needed with the various stops and coordinators on the island. And the tour stops were enjoyable both for my pre-teen children and elderly mother.

Vincenzo was amazing, greatest guide and made us feel like VIPs the whole time. I was disappointed we could not see the grotto or do the chair lift due to high winds, and also our ferry ride was very vomitous. Like half the boat got sick because we were riding a coaster for an hour. Kinda treacherous, but we still had a great time. I feel like Viator should offer a lower price if you don’t get to see the Grotto/or so a boat tour and ride chair lift. We got a museum and gardens which were stunning and as I said no complaints. But still felt like a lot of money for what we did get to do.

Paola was outstanding! She was very knowledgeable being a local and the fact that we could jump the line made it so that we could finish seeing everything on the itinerary given it was an extremely busy and crowded island. She knew many things about Capri that she shared with us.

Cristina was absolutely incredible! She was able to cater to each of our individual needs. She was excellent at communicating with us. The drivers and tour guides were absolutely incredible, very knowledgeable about the areas we visited, and the history of the places we went! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!! Our group of eight had a private tour of Capri, skipping the Blue Grotto. Cristina at Tours of Capri booked our excursion, inc the ferry ride from Naples to Capri with complete efficiency. Our guide was amazing! Since I have waited 4 mos to write the review, I have forgotten his name, but he lives on the island with his beautiful wife ( we ran into her on our walk) and his young son. He was a wealth of information and a great guide. We took a small van along the Mama Mia Rd and the chairlift to Anacapri. No fault of the tour, but the island lost power for a couple of hours. It actually allowed us to spend time exploring and having a delicious lunch. Would highly recommend this tour. Thank you for an amazing day!

Vincenzo was great. He met us at the ferry ticket station and guided my wife and me on a great tour of the Isle of Capri. We first went to the harbor where we grabbed a boat to the Blue Grotto. Seeing this icon was wonderful. We then went via a convertible taxi to Anacapri and took the chairlift to the mountain top where we enjoyed the best views. We came down and walked through the center of Anacapri and then headed to Capri for lunch at a great restaurant overnight the harbor. We did some sightseeing and eventually went back. The whole tour was great!

If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. Our guide Vincenzo was born and raised outside of Napoli and lived on Capri for a few years. It seems like he knows half the island. More importantly he knows where to go when to avoid the queues as much as possible. He even knew short cuts down less crowded streets that only local use. We took an early ferry and he had a taxi waiting for us. We immediately booked to Anacapri and road the chair lift to the top. It was still quiet and peaceful at the top. When we left the top of the mountain the tour groups were beginning to arrive. He navigated us to all the best spots for pictures and lunch was at a local family restaurant (and amazing). Can’t recommend enough. Arrived back in Napoli around 5:30pm.

Usurping an old (like me) movie title following is my review. "The Good": Our guide was excellent. She was personable, knowledgeable, energetic. flexible and gets 5-Stars and 10.0 from me. "The Bad": Even in early October Capri was absolutely slammed (very crowded), as I refused to wait 60-90 minutes for a 45 second adventure we did not get to experience The Blue Grotto and this is information that I would have liked to have known beforehand. "The Ugly": Viator (this experience anyhow) is extremely overpriced. Knowing what I now know I could have booked a competent private guide for 1/2 - 1/3 of the price. That said I must reiterate "The Good" and add this anecdote: By the time that it became apparent to us that TBG was out and in that moment I asked my Viator guide to get on the phone and find a private boat and captain to take my son and I (and her) on a 360° tour of the entire island. Noting that she was unsure whether this was possible she continued in her effort at making that happen as we toured the Isle and she was successful. While I spent an additional pretty penny on this adventure it proved to be a highlight of our 11 day vacation. That said and reiterating "The Ugly", had I known then I could have booked a guide and a boat / captain and still spent less. Regardless and as stated my guide was wonderful and with Viator's help (in securing an 11th hour unscheduled water tour) we had an amazing experience. I suppose the take away is this: If you either know from experience or are willing to expend the time, effort and energy then you can save yourself some money by not booking via Viator (or any other agency); however, if you do use Viator then it's my experience that your experience will work out very well.

Our beautiful guide, Lucia, was the best. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and warm. Capri is beautiful, and the Blue Grotto was worth the somewhat long wait to get inside the cave. I highly recommend the tour, and request Lucia if you can.

The Island is mesmerising, as are all the views that come along. However, a private experience should have been a bit more private, and the guide along should have explained more. Rest, the Island was amazing!

We absolutely loved this tour - our guide Vincenzo was fantastic and took every care to make this an unforgettable day. The trip was packed from start to finish - in particular the chair lift had jaw-dropping views and was our favourite bit - but overall it’s the perfect duration and great value for money. However we really do owe our enjoyment to Vincenzo - he made the day really bespoke and a lot of fun, we felt so incredibly well looked after and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our guide Stephanie was the absolute best!! I cannot say enough good things about her. From the first moment she made our experience top notch. Can't recommend her enough. If you do this tour, ask for her!!

It's VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get. first of all, It is a NIGHTMARE trying to find the meeting place. The Tour Guides should hold up a sign with the person's last name on it like they do at the airport. There were literally over 1000 people standing in a courtyard and all they told us in the directions were "meet at the tree". That was a joke as there are 100s of trees around. It sounded like a private tour but was anything but that. Yes, we had our own tour guide but she mostly just told us where to go with s little bit of history. We also thought with it being a "boat tour" it would be an excursion and time to play in the water for a bit as well but we didn't even get close to a beach to play in the water. You're only in the actual blue grotto for about 3–5 minutes at MOST after waiting for an hour to get in once we were at the opening to the grotto! DEFINITELY not worth over $1,300 after tips!!!

If you’re going to have a private tour of Capri then Vincenzo needs to be your guide. He is absolutely amazing because he is extremely knowledgeable, personable, knows the taxi drivers, the boat captains, the manager at the blue cave, the chair lift operators and all of the ‘behind the scenes’ spots as well. He takes an incredible amount of time to show you the sites, inform you of the history of the island, but also the locals lifestyle as well. You can tell his passion for a place that he once lived and shows that passion during the entire trip.

Vincenzo took special care of our needs, by lending a hand on steps and hills. It was so pleasant, and fun , spending the day with him. His value added insights into the island were great. Our most favorite tour! Vincenzo’s tour was the shining star for me and four other ladies. He hit all the sites we wanted to see.He made our tour great.

We enjoyed it all- everything from the view at the top of the island, walking around, arranging a delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the water and a boat tour around the island. We had an absolutely wonderful time visiting Capri! And Stephanie WAS the reason. She met us right where she said she would, took care of all the tickets and was very fun and informative. However I will say the best thing about Stephanie is how she pivoted to make adjustments during our trip. The Blue Grotto was closed so she already had a back-up plan as this happens often. But more so my partner got skittish at the last minute about riding the one person chairlift up from AnaCapri to The Mountain top. Not a problem for Stephanie. She just pivoted and took us to another location with beautiful gardens and views. She was actively listening the whole time and making constant little adjustments - like making sure she brought us to the place we had made lunch reservations right on time. At the end of the day we feel like despite the adjustments we STILL got the full Capri experience. Thank you Stephanie so much! I would HIGHLY recommend this trip for your amazing Capri experience!

This tour is an absolute must if your like to experience Capri without staying there! Our guide Vincenzo was EXTREMELY knowlegeable and was able to take us places off the beaten track plus make time to visit all the hotspots! We were able to have a wonderful, wonderful lunch overlooking the water at a restaurant Vincenzo recommended that was quiet and lovely and delicious. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Capri.

Can not recommend Lucy any higher than you MUST DO! She met us at our cruise dock in Naples, got us to the ferry terminal and talked us through the process of what would happen upon docking in Capri which involved running to the dock to get on a boat to head to the Blue Grotto so we could get in line without wasting time. We managed to only wait 40 minutes to get into the Blue Grotto which during peak summer months wasn't bad at all! Afterwards Lucy had a van waiting for us and took us to the chair lift which took us to the top of the island for amazing views. Then we went shopping to have custom sandals made. Then we had previously made a lunch reservation at da Gelsomina and Lucy was excited to help us arrange transportation to the restaurant where we enjoyed the most incredible leisurely lunch with unbelievable island views and insanely delicious food. After lunch we went back to pick up our custom sandals, did some more shopping and then headed back to get our ferry to return to our cruise ship in Naples. Our teenagers had so much fun with Lucy! She was full of knowledge, had amazing energy and kept us on schedule. Just wish we had more time to spend in beautiful Capri!!!

Our guide Paola was AMAZING! It's like she's a local celebrity on Capri! Everyone knew her, she got us through long lines quickly, knew all the local history and took us to a restaurant wehre we had the best ravioli of our lives. There is no way we would have seen half of the sites we did, or been able to get around Capri and Anacapri, without her planning and expertise. And she is warm and gracious as well - we would highly recommend Paola and this tour for anyone who wants a full and meaningful day tour of Capri.

We looked at a few tour options before booking but ultimately decided on a private tour, which included the Blue Grotto. Even though it was a pricier option, it was money well spent. Our Guide, Maria, was amazing, and she made the experience extra special. We were guided every step of the way but still had plenty of free time. The day had zero stress and was even more perfect than we could have imagined. My Husband said it was the highlight of our trip for him. If you’re on the fence, and budget allows, just book it. You’ll be so glad you did!

This tour was absolutely amazing! Jacimo our tour guide was terrific, funny informative and efficient. We covered all the major attractions on the island and still had time for an amazing lunch reserved and recommended first hand by our incredible guide. This tour was the highlight of our Mediterranean vacation! Worth Every penny!

Lucia was fantastic - she helped us get the most out of our day in Capri/Anacapri and was great with our teens/tweens. She helped us do a last minute itinerary change to tour the island by boat instead of visiting the gardens (was definitely a good choice for our hot, tired kids!). She really went above and beyond, too - after our tour was over, the metro stop by the port was closed so the taxi line was very, very long. Lucia helped us get tickets and ride the metro back towards our hotel, saving us hours of waiting!!! A wonderful experience - definitely ask for her!!!

Vincenzo was amazing!!! We saw all parts of the island. We were able to do the blue grotto first and the whole day was filled with wonderful information and sights. With the private tour, Vincenzo knew where all the best picture taking spots were and worked his magic to make our experience magical.

Book this! It was 100% worth having a private tour guide. Since she lives on the island, she was able to tell us the ins and outs and take us to places you might not have gotten to on your own. This experience also includes tickets already for things, and the chair lift was unbelievable. We had the most perfect day in Capri and wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. The taxis were adorable and our guide took so many pictures for us. Highly recommend!

Michele was a fantastic tour guide. He helped us navigate through the ferry options over to the island of Capri. He rearrange our tour a little bit based on the weather that morning and visibility with the chairlift. It worked out beautifully. We enjoyed some sightseeing, a wonderful boat tour, and by the afternoon the fog had burned off the top of the mountain, and we could do the chairlift. We weren’t able to do the blue grotto based on the rougher waves. Michele gave us many alternate options to fill in our day. There was still so much more to see. We ate at a hidden gem/ local restaurant. The convertible car ride in the oversized plush jeep style convertible was so fun. We did the Mamma Mia trail up the mountain. Michele knew all sorts of entertaining facts about the island. Its history, its architecture, and information about the homes and hotels along the cliffs. He was very accommodating and wanted us to see all the things that we were really interested in. We would highly recommend this tour!!

Great day. Our tour guide Stephanie was excellent. She was friendly and knowledgeable both about the island and surroundings but also about ways to stay ahead of the worst of the crowds. The day started on the ferry, and we were advised to use the restroom on the ferry because if the Blue Grotto was open (it was), we were going to take a waiting private taxi directly to the Blue Grotto to beat the rush, and there would be no public lavatory available until after the Blue Grotto. The cab ride was pleasant, and the Blue Grotto was amazing. Though the ticket price is included in the tour, the person who rows your boat will ask for a tip of 3-5 euro per person in your party, so make sure you have some small change. One tour bus did beat us to the Grotto, but the line moved quickly. After the Blue Grotto, we went to Anacapri and took the chairlift up the mountain. Thanks to Stephanie, we beat the crowd here as well. It’s a single person, open air chairlift. If you don’t like heights you may have to close your eyes for 15 minutes, but the trip is worth it. Some of the best views await at the top. After taking the chairlift down, we toured the town. We then had the option of lunch in Anacapri (a bit cheaper) or Capri (more expensive, better views). We chose Capri. We were told the ferries do not run from 2 to 3:15 pm, and my kids wanted to return in time to still have a little beach time. We asked Stephanie if we would be able to tour Augustus Gardens and still make the 1:55 ferry back. She made this happen, and we toured the Gardens, took some photos, took the cable car back down to the marina, and were aboard the 1:55 ferry by 1:45. This was totally our choice. Stephanie was fully prepared to give us the full tour of Capri, and she even offered to arrange a 1 hour boat tour around the island (we were told this is what replaces the Blue Grotto if it’s closed), but she was able to tailor the tour to our needs (an early exit), which we appreciated. This was my kids’ favorite tour in Italy.

Theresa met us on time. A private convertible car met us at the port to take us to Ana Capri. Took the chair lift up to the top where the views were spectacular. After descending the chair lift was given some free time to walk around. I would have liked the guide to accompany us on this exploration since it was difficult to locate a few of the special sites. The driver met us and took us to Capri town center. We had a wonderful walk up to the gardens where Theresa explained the three sisters. She was very informative on the island since this was her home. I would recommend Theresa for anyone wanting a private tour.

It was an amazing day on the island of capri. Our tour guide Teresa was excellent. She was informative and fun. There was one adventure after the next. The blue grotto was a once in a lifetime experience. The day had a good combination tour guide information and activities and time on your own to explore the different areas. It’s a must do.

Great experience. My wife and I took a cruise and our port was Napoli. We booked a private tour for the Blue grotto/capri/ana capri/ flower gardens/chair lift, lunch etc. Anna Marie was our guide. She is great and was very knowledgeable and made our experience worry free. She is also a local from capri and her family has been in capri for generations. We got lucky and got into the grotto. Realize it's hit or miss depending on the water. If you do get in, you won't regret it. Breathtaking! Anna marie explained everything to us before we went and what to expect. She also took pictures of my wife and I numerous times. If you want a fun relaxing day with a bit of everything, this is it. Plenty of time to shop, eat, grotto,free time and get back to the port, which you take a ferry, which is about a 50 min ride and runs I believe every hour or so

Giorgio our guide was an amazing! He gave us a deeper understanding in Capri and her past. Took photos for us and knew how to position us to get the best spot. We had ample time to explore and enjoy Capri. Such a beautiful island!
