This was a highlight of our trip - a private transfer from Naples to Ravello along the Amalfi coast. Francesco picked us up from the Naples train station and drove us to Ravello, with stops at Sorrento Positano and Amalfi along the way, in an air conditioned vehicle. Francesco is so friendly helpful and informative. He gave us great local recommendations, was a good driver, spoke great English and looked after our luggage while we explored. Highly recommend to others. He also took as back to Naples another day via Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Amalfi is one of the most fascinating towns on the Amalfi Coast, rich in history, culture and breathtaking views. Here are the main attractions to see: Duomo di Sant’Andrea: The symbol of Amalfi, with its spectacular Arab-Norman façade and scenic staircase. Inside is the crypt with the relics of Sant’Andrea. Chiostro del Paradiso: An elegant 13th-century cloister next to the Duomo, with intertwined arches of Arab influence and a suggestive atmosphere. Arsenale della Repubblica: A museum that tells the story of the powerful Maritime Republic of Amalfi, with ancient ships and historical artifacts. Museo della Carta: Amalfi is famous for its tradition in paper production. This museum, housed in an old paper mill, shows the production process of the fine Amalfi paper.
Sorrento is one of the most fascinating places on the Amalfi Coast, famous for its views of the Gulf of Naples, limoncello and its suggestive historical center. Here are the main attractions to visit: Piazza Tasso: The beating heart of Sorrento, with bars, restaurants and a view of the Vallone dei Mulini, an ancient ravine with remains of medieval buildings. Historic Center: Narrow streets full of artisan shops, churches and historic buildings, perfect for a stroll. Cloister of San Francesco: One of the most romantic places in Sorrento, with medieval arches and an enchanting atmosphere. Basilica of Sant’Antonino: Dedicated to the patron saint of the city, with relics and a spiritual atmosphere.
Positano is one of the most iconic villages on the Amalfi Coast, with its colorful houses overlooking the sea and its picturesque streets. Here are the main attractions to visit: Spiaggia Grande: The main beach of Positano, perfect for relaxing and admiring the spectacular view of the houses perched on the rocks. Here you will find bars, restaurants and exclusive clubs. Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta: Symbol of Positano, it is famous for its colorful majolica dome and for the Byzantine icon of the Black Madonna, kept inside. Spiaggia di Fornillo: Quieter than Spiaggia Grande, it can be reached with a panoramic walk and offers a more relaxed atmosphere.

We had a private tour with Francesco!! He was a delightful guide. We were picked up at the port (cruise ship) and he arrived right on time. We rode in a nice van and made stops in Ravello, Amalfi, and Postitano. We had a lot to see and only one day to do it all. Our guide talked along the way making sure we didn’t miss a thing. He gave suggestions on tasty food to get in each place. All in all one of the best tours ever. I highly recommend.
Carmine picked me and mom up at the Naples cruise port at 8 am in a nice Mercedes van and masterfully drove us down the coast from Ravello to Positano to Amalfi to Sorrento and back! It was a beautiful private tour with all of his knowledge, great photos and shopping, lunch! Was the highlight of our 10 day trip and can’t wait to come back! Thank you to Rosy for ease of booking and Carmine for his careful driving and planning and a just a great time and tour!
Hello! Its been a few months since our trip, but we hired private driver Carmine. He was very professional and informative! On top of that he's just a great human being. I was a little ill that day, and he made sure I was taken care of in addition to hitting all the highlights along the way. He really went out of his way to make sure our experience was everything we wanted. He really loves driving :D Thank you very much! Bryan and Regina (Colorado)
NAPLES: The difference between Naples and Sorrento/ Positano is like chalk and cheese. When you get into the city of Naples the Napolise Central station is very modern and has a lot to offer. But it is very deceiving.....as you step outside and you will see how poor the town looks..... 1. There are a lot of beggers or poor people outside, which we did not expect. It did not feel like we were in Europe. 2. The buildings are all run down and the alleys have dodgy stalls with a lot of fake knock off products. We did not even step in as we were scared we will be mugged. 3. The buildings are all run down and every electric cable that runs from one building to another had clothes somehow hung on it. So your main attraction on any building is the locals laundry being dried out. Advise: 1. Please do not wear heals or even wedges. The entire city is made with cobbly uneven paving stones. I made the mistake in wearing wedges and regretted it. Always wear comfortable flats. 2. Taxi drivers will try to con you and charge what ever they want depending on how they perceive you. Barter the price or better yet use the public transport. Trains are very good and cheap. 3. From the airport take the Alibus which is just outside the airport and takes you to the central station directly in 20min. It is only 5 euros. Very comfortable to travel in. 4. If you wish to wander around to check out Naples and will not be staying at a hotel in Naples, you can store you luggage for 6 Euros a piece at the Central station. This was handy as the streets paving were not easy to drag suitcases around. SORRENTO: This town is the beginning of the heavenly Amalfi coast. You have few ways to get to Sorrento from Naples. Naples is where the airport is so depending on your transport preference, where you would need to go will be dictated: 1. Ferry from Porte - if you do not wish to see Naples then you can take the Alibus from the airport to the Porte and get a ferry from there. It is only c10 Euros per person. 45 min ferry ride and it is a beautiful experience and personally favourite way to get across. You can see the towns from the sea view and it is breath taking. Please note in November the Ferries were not operating during the weekend. 2. Train from the Central station, this is c9 Euros one way. Take the Alibus from the airport which is 5 Euros and then take the train to Sorrento. Takes around 1 hour 20 min. You can see the coastal areas from here too, but mainly the sea itself. 3. Taxi this is around 100 euros and 1 hour drive. We did not take this option for obvious reasons. If you take the ferry you will need to either take a taxi at Sorrento to the town as the town is way high above sea level. It costs around 20 Euros. If you are as daring as my friend and I, then you can climb the ridiculous amount of metal stairs all the way to the top. We had hand luggage and dared each other to do it. It is achievable but tiring. Once you reach the top the view is breath taking and the town is so quaint and picture perfect. Absolutely the opposite to Naples. It is the most happening part of the the three towns i.e. Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. It is very tourist friendly and I would recommend booking the olive and lemon farm experience. It is a half day experience and it is worth it. You can book this via Viator. There are few Michelin starred restaurants around these areas and they are beautiful. You will be limoncello out by the end of the trip as you get it given free after every meal in every restaurant. It is strong and it is made in Sorrento. The seafood dishes are amazing and the bruschette is divine. The average 2 course meal will be around £30 - £40 a head. The restaurants do not add Service charge directly but they mask it by adding something called a Cover charge, and upon paying they will ask if you wish to add a service charge. So please be aware as it is quite cheeky. POSITANO: Transport: either taxi (expensive) or a coach that you can take from the train station. Cost is around 2.50 euros one way. The coach does get packed quite quickly and the journey is around 50 mins. We had to stand the whole way as there were no seats and with the windy roads it was like we were on a roller coaster. If you get travel sickness buy a bottle of freshly squeezed lemon water which you can get anywhere as their main raw product is lemons. This will help manage the nausea. Buy the return at Sorrento train station in advance as it is cheaper. Positano is just a heavenly place with an amazing view. Very hilly so wear comfortable shoes and flats. It has a beach with Ash covered sand due to the volcanic ashes. The view is breath taking and the town is so pretty. The gelato here is amazing. Pistachio flavour and coffee flavour is a must try. In the summer it would be packed and so do book your restaurant reservations in advance. The restaurant i would recommend trying is 'Chez Black' it is a unique looking restaurant on the beach that is decked up like the inside of a ship. The food is expensive in Positano and a lot less happening than Sorrento. But definitely worth a day trip here. Make sure to know when the last bus back is otherwise it will be hard finding your way back. AMALFI: This is a smaller town but very pretty and a further 40 min from Positano. You will need to take a bus here too. It is an expensive around there but picture perfect. When it's summer you can take a ferry from Sorrento to get here too.
Excellent tour of the Amalfi coast with exceptional driver/ tour guide Francesco. Visited Amalfi, Positano & Sorrento, with enough time to explore or eat & drink. Great advice from Francesco on things to do or try. One day is not enough to take in all that this region has to offer, but this private tour allows you to sit back enjoy the views and get a taste of what’s on offer. 5 Star driver & 5 Star tour
Our tour guide Francesco, arrived on time and proved to be an excellent tour guide, very informative on our trip around the Almafi coast. We visited Amalfi, try Delizia Al Limone at Pasticerra Pansa Amalfi as recommended by Francesco. This was followed by visits to Positano & Sorrento, with enough time to explore or stop for food & drinks. To see all that the Amalfi region has to offer in one day is impossible, but I would highly recommend a private tour like this to get a taste of what it has to offer, 5 star tour & 5 Stars for Francesco
Highly recommend this tour. If you are hesitating- don’t! Car is clean and comfortable, driver is courteous, professional and a wealth of information!! My favorite tour of all, and we did lots of them in Naples.
We had a wonderful day on the Amalfi Coast with Amedeo! He was a terrific tour guide, very friendly and nice and he made the trip easy and fun for us! He was by far the best tour guide we had on our 10 day trip! We would highly recommend him and Amalfi Coast Day Tours! No worries when booking with this group! 👍😀
Amadeus was the best private tour driver and guide we have experienced of all our private tour services in Italy. He was a true professional in driving and customer service. As an example, before embarking on our tour I explained to Amadeus that I easily get car-sickness when riding in cars traversing winding roads so he offered to stop often as I requested. He also offered for me to sit up front. Because of his smooth and professional driving skills, I had a wonderful experience, not having to feel nausea. When he had to slow down or stop for other cars, he braked very softly so I did not feel any jerking feeling. He was very knowledgeable about the history of all the places we visited as well as sights that we were able to view in the distance. He dropped us off and gave us tips on each location on the Amalfi Coast. To our benefit, his English explanations were perfect. When we return to Naples and the Amalfi Coast, we will definitely request his services again.
The gorgeous Amalfi Coast should not be missed. We were picked up from our ship in Naples and driven by a luxury van down the winding picturesque coast of Amalfi. This is a long journey and based on the traffic you might not get a chance to walk every town. For instance we only were able to spend a little over an hour in the quaint town of Amalfi. What a beautiful place with shops and incredible food. The people are lovely and the views are never ending. The tour company arranged for an outstanding lunch near the city of Revello up high in the mountains over looking the ocean and lemon groves. We were the only diners in the restaurant and were treated wonderfully. Our driver Pollo was excellent. He made the time enjoyable and educational. Our family loved it and the Tour Company was great to work with they required Euros at the time of tour and no deposit was necessary. They did their best to stay in touch while we were cruising and they were ready and on time for our arrival. It was the highlight of our 11 night Mediterranean cruise.
We had a wonderful tour of Ravello, Positano and Sorrento. Our driver picked us up promptly at the port from our cruise and we got started immediately. Jon our driver was wonderful and informative and was able to make many suggestions on food and other stops. He took us to a quaint family restaurant for lunch and was able to answer all our questions. Wonderful tour and he was an excellent driver through the coast. :)
Jon picked us up on time from the port, we were a party of 8, and the van was comfortable for all of us. He is very knowledgeable of the area and gave us lots of great info as well as recommendations. We had about an hour plus of free time in each area. He easily adapted to our requests. Took us to a family run olive oil factory which was fabulous. I would highly recommend Jon and Amalfi Coast Day Tours!!
Ciao! Myself, My Husband, Mother and Aunt had the most AMAZING time during our private day tour of the amalfi coast. Francesco was so knowledgeable, very prompt, and very easy going which we truly loved and appreciated. We loved that he was waiting for us right at our train! It made us feel so special! He was also an excellent driver! With all those twists and turns going in the mountains and hills was amazing how he mastered them with ease and also made us still feel safe and comfortable. I was also very grateful that he helped us find when the last train from Naples was and got us back with a little time to spare. We learned so much from Francesco, he was literally an open book and gave us so many stories and fun facts and history about the different towns we were in and things we would past. He really has a passion for this and it truly shows! It was definitely the highlight of our trip and mine since I’ve been trying to get to the amalfi coast for a very LONG time! We will definitely be coming back and will tell all our friends and family about you guys. Definitely book and be ready to have a fun day! Thank you so much Francesco you have given my family and I some of the BEST memories! 💜
Where do we start. John Luca was incredible - he was informative yet not too talkative - very flexible he did what we wanted to do. Had incredible advice and suggestions. He took us to the most beautiful sites for pictures he gave us wonderful info on food and drinks he was wonderful. The price was spot on and we lived every minute of our day trip. Brian and Kim Church
We were picked up by Gianluca promptly from our cruise ship terminal and he drove us all around the Amalfi Coast, Positano, and Pompeii. He showed us some of the most breathtaking views along the way and gave us free time to walk around throughout the day. He was also full of interesting information about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. A wonderful tour that we highly recommend.
We had amazing two days with this wonderful family run tour agency. First day we explored Amalfi coast with fabulous Francesco, second day we were lucky to spend half day in Pompeii with Gracia. If you are looking forward to exploring Naples with a private guide then we highly recommend you this company. We felt like we had very good Italian friends while visiting Naples for a very short time. Thank you Francesco for your kindness and recommendations. You are the best!
When we walked out from the cruise, driver had waited and held up a sign with my name. He told us to Mercedes van and explained all the details with us. The driver/guide had given us so much details about the area. The tour was well organized and we were able to make it to the ship on time. Highly recommended!!
We spent a week in Italy and BY FAR our best day was with Amalfi Coast Private Day Tours and our driver was Amedeo Picarella!! Request him!!! He will show you the sights and it will be an awesome day!! For some great memories, ask him about the COWBOYS from TEXAS!! It's also a day, Amedeo (we call him "I'm a day older") will never forget! :-) And we love his "Mummie"!!
Our guide Amadeo was fantastic, very calm and patient with all the traffic. He managed to find parking at all the scienic overlooks. He was knowledgeable, local and spoke very good English. Our pick up and drop off was in Salerno they were on time for pick up, and didn't rush to get us back. Thank you for a wonderful tour
Our day trip was absolutely perfect. Our guide, Francesco, customized our tour to allow all members of our group (aged 78-11) to enjoy the tour thoroughly. The tour showed us the personal side of this beautiful region. We ended our day with a visit and tour of Pompeii. Despite it being crazy hot we all enjoyed the site and learned even more about the history of this beautiful area. We were advised to hire a guide at Pompeii and it was worth every cent. Thank you to Amalfi Day Tours for all the advice and help you gave us. We can’t wait to come back and visit again!!
We had an amazing experience with this company. From our initial inquiry, the follow up questions to the final booking the communication was very timely, and in most cases immediate. Our guide for the day was waiting for us when we arrived and was friendly, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the area. He made great suggestions that made our day extra special and we saw more of the Almalfi Coast than we had anticipated. We had an amazing lunch overlooking the cliffs and ocean, again suggested by our guide. We finished the day with a trip to Pompei and made it back to the train station in time to easily catch our train to Rome. We would highly recommend this company to all of our friends and family.
Me and my girlfriend visited Sorrento, Positano and amalfi for the day and it truly made our holiday. Great friendly driver with a lot of knowledge of the areas. It’s nice that you can be in charge of your own itinerary so can choose how long you want to spend it each area. Overall 10/10 for the trip and wouldn’t change anything would highly recommend!!
Rosy and Gianluca are just incredible to work with. We were a family of four, and Gianluca showed us around like an expert. He speaks perfect English, is VERY friendly, and took his time in showing us around the Amalfi Coast. We stopped at some of the best viewpoints for photos, at the right roadside stalls to buy the best fruits and seasoning mixes, and... there is simply no way this could have been a better experience for us. We'll be back, and we'll go with Rosy and Gianluca again!
Ten of us had the most enjoyable tour with this company! The bus was clean and the tour guide Grace (Grazia) was FANTASTIC!! She was EXTREMELY passionate about her job. Her tour of Pompei was excellent and really brought that time period to life! Be sure to request Grace if you are taking this tour! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company!
Fabulous Trip , Knowledgeable, witty Paolo took us on private airconditioned tour of Amalfi coast would highly recommend 2nd time we have used this company very professional
Amazing tour and experience. Gianluca was our guide and was punctual and informative along our trip. Our tour included Pompei, Positano, Alamfi and Ravello. He also took us to an amazing little Limoncello factory in Ravello. Gianluca accommodated our needs beautifully and was always thoughtful of the time we wanted to spend in each location. We were looking to tour an olive oil factory and he made a special trip to Frantoio Gargiulo where we tasted every type of olive oil that they made, Overall a great experience. We will use Amalfi Coast Day Tours again when we return to Sorrento!
Amazing tour!! Our guide Grazia was excellent, very professional and accommodating. Everything went perfect, she picked up us at the cruise port early in the morning. We went to Sorrento, Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Recommended 100%!!! Thank you Grazia!!!
We visited with our friends and family and enjoyed this tour very much. Highly recommend this tour. Amalfi coast drive was awesome. Francesco was awesome. On time and waiting for us at the train station.
Thanks to Carmine and driver we were safely taken to the most beautiful places of the Amalfi Coast! Be able to stop a few times along the way to enjoy the beautiful view. We left from Naples to go towards Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento. Carmine gave us a nice, friendly explanation and had arranged lunch for us in Positano. Carmine wished we didn't want for anything. RECOMMENDED! 🍋
