Every point along the way the tour was handled with professionalism. Our Driver was on time and our arrival at the Archeological Site was ahead of schedule and we had plenty of time to meet our guide. The winery staff was knowledgeable and courteous. They spent time answering our questions about the different wines. In addition to the wine, many components of the lunch also originated at the winery, including the olive oil, an olive oil and vinegar dressing and honey. The wine was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.

Nice small group size. Tour guide fantastic. Wine and amount of food was great value. Winery was beautiful
We had Fabrizio for the Pompeii tour and he was wonderful! I’m so glad we did a guided tour. Two hours was just enough time there before lunch, but we would love to come back to spend all day at the ruins. Lunch and wine tasting at Quirinoli was perfect. All the wines were great and paired well with the food, which was delicious. Our second winery was less personal and seemed to run more like a restaurant. They didn’t explain the wines and didn’t really interact with us, except for a very friendly younger man who was working there. I was impressed by the coordination of everything, as all of us for the Pompeii ruins tour had different afternoon activities planned. Fabrizio got us all on our separate ways and our drivers made sure we got going from point A to point B seamlessly. It was so smooth, we didn’t have to think about it at all. Before I booked this tour, I read the reviews and had a heads up that one winery may not be the best time, but this was our only opportunity to visit some wineries during our quick trip in Italy and I wanted to make the most of it. Our time at Quirinoli was so good that we would have been satisfied doing only that, so if you are deciding between this tour with one or two winery visits like I was, you’ll be set with just the one. I would give this overall tour 4.5 stars, but it would be 5 stars if the experience at the second winery was more fun.
Had the best experience touring beautiful wineries and trying delicious wines from the vineyards. The Pompeii tour was amazing, and being able to learn so much about the area and see so much for the value was perfect!
This experience was incredible. Our tour guide clearly loved history and art and was deeply knowledgeable about the Pompeii ruins. The tour ran on time. The tour guide made the whole tour. She was witty and well-seasoned in her work. The wineries that we stopped at were the icing on the cake. Particularly Quirinoli was one of our favorite experiences of the entire Italy trip. The host - Lorenzo was hilarious and warm and authentic. We loved him so much and his charm and his vibe set the tone for the best part of the entire excursion. The Somalia gave us heavy pours of the smoothest crispest wine we have ever tasted. We are already planning to buy and ship his wine (and the Meloncello) to our home to continue to enjoy. The second winery was lovely and lively. Everyone was welcoming and the views were unparalleled. But the gem of the whole experience was Lorenzo and Quirinoli.
We started the day with a fantastic tour of Pompeii. Our guide was amazing – incredibly skilled at bringing history to life and making the experience engaging and memorable. Being in a small group of just 11 people was also a big plus, making the tour feel more personal and relaxed. After the tour, we continued with wine tastings. The first stop was absolutely wonderful – breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius, delicious wine and food, and a sommelier who was truly passionate about his craft. A moment we’ll remember for a long time. Unfortunately, the second wine tasting didn’t quite meet our expectations. It was a bit disorganized, with little follow-up or attention, which slightly dampened the overall impression at the end of the day. That said, it was still a perfect day filled with highlights and lasting memories. Highly recommended – though some improvement at the final tasting would make it even better.
Lalla was an absolutely amazing guide and so knowledgeable about Pompei. She answered all the questions our group threw at her and did a great job of managing all the personalities in our group. We go to see so many areas of the Pompei site thanks to Lalla’s precise info.
Lovely day! Pompeii was incredibly informative and the wineries were beautiful . Plenty of food offered, you won’t leave hungry, and the wine was fantastic.
Trip all went smoothly- excellent organisation and communication. Pompeii was phenomenal and lasted the right amount of time- our guide Miriam was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Obviously you can’t see it all in one visit and so definitely will return. Our visit to the first vineyard was just perfect after the heat of Pompeii. It was a small organic vineyard and Lorenzo was a delight regaling us with wonderful facts and stories as well as supplying us with superb food. An added bonus was having time over lunch to chat with the others in our group - lovely people. We then had another easy transfer to the second vineyard. My group did not enjoy this so much as it was a much larger, more commercial, operation which lacked the personal touch. We just felt like numbers being put through a process. However have to compliment our guide who worked hard going between three languages in his explanations. We were then transported back to Naples.
Good way to see the ruins without spending a whole day. The wine tastings provided a good way to see the highlights of the ruins while also getting out of the afternoon heat. All of the wineries we visited were excellent.
We were less than impressed with this experience. The process to purchase the right tickets to enter Pompeii was not clear at all. Pick up from our hotel was confusing. The tour of Pompeii started late and felt rushed. The first winery was lovely but we were there much longer than we should have been. The second winery wasn’t as pleasant and we didn’t feel as welcomed. Our driver told us to be ready for pick up at 4:00 pm and they were late by 40 minutes. Very disappointing experience for our last day of our trip. Overall, I thought it was extremely overpriced and a let down.
A fantastic day trip with our very experienced and knowledgable Pompeii guide Theresa. Our driver Roberto was very friendly and dropped us door to door and gave some great food recommendations for Naples. The Vineyards were both beautiful, the staff were fantastic and the wines were delicious - we couldn’t help but order some to be sent home to us! Thank you all for an excellent day!
Great tour in the morning and amazing wine and food in the afternoon. Both wineries were top notch!!
Our tour of Pompeii was incredible. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We then visited the 2 wineries. The first with a spectacular view of the water and of the winery, the food and wine were delicious. Our second winery was toured very nicely, and the food was also fabulous. We would definitely do that again and again.
Very interesting tour of the ruins provided by Vivian. She provided great insight to what it was like to live in Pompeii before the eruption. After the tour Lorenzo drove us to two wineries, entertaining us along the way. Great tours And tastings I highly recommend both
Great day out in Pompeii. Beautiful countryside and the tour of the ancient city was short compared to a full tour but gave you all the most important sights of Pompeii to see. The vineyards were both great, and the drivers/hosts were gracious. Come with an empty stomach! Both vineyards will feed you well with ample wine!
Excellent day trip from Naples. Easy pick up from our hotel and transfer to Pompeii with Roberto. Bit of a wait at Pompeii due to a pair of no-shows, but then we had a 2 hour ish guided tour of the ruins with Analisa. She was superb - funny, knowledgeable and excellent company. We cannot recommend her highly enough. The reasonably short, laid back walk around was exactly what we like. Pompeii itself is great, but I think we got lucky with unusually rubbish weather and a lack of cruise ships in port, so it wasn't overly busy. We quickly got the cultural bit out of the way, and Lorenzo picked us up for the main event - visits to two local vineyards on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. I can't remember the names, but both were excellent (I can't remember much at all from the last part of the tour). The first one was fancy and shiny with excellent wine, very polished with a golf buggy tour around. The second one was a more basic operation but more interesting for me. Wine possibly not as good as the first one, but also nowhere near as expensive. Both had excellent food included. And plenty of wine tasting, more importantly. Lorenzo then took us back to our hotel in Naples where I needed a short nap to compose myself before going out for tea. Overall a splendid day out which me and the wife feel was a very lucky find. It's exactly the kind of thing we like to do on holiday. The city of Naples itself, and the surrounding area, is a great place for a long weekend away. We loved it, really interesting city full of stuff to do.
Ciro was the best tour guide we could have gotten. He made us feel like we were in 79 AD. The 2 wineries were amazing and we had a funny driver named Gennarro.
Our Pompeii guide and experience was absolutely amazing. The first winery was perfection. The wine and food were all delicious with wonderful service. It turned out we were the only couple who booked the second winery. It was not good. The wine and food were inferior to any other wine tour I have ever done. The sharing of vans was crazy. While we were one place our driver had taken other people places and dropped them off. We had a bottle of wine stolen from the first winery even though we were told we could leave it on the van. If I had been told the van was shared I would never have left anything on.
This was a great excursion! The ruins at Pompei are unbelievable and the guide was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent tour. Highly recommend wearing closed toed shoes as the description says as there are a lot of dirt “roads” and areas. If you go during the summer, a fan or spray bottle and water will help keep you cool as it does get pretty hot. The winery visits afterwards were amazing, especially Bosco de’ Medici. They provided a golf cart tour if the winery, delicious food and expert description of the wine by a sommelier. It was one of my favorite experiences that we had in Italy. Only gave it 4 stars because I didn’t particularly love the second winery, but overall it was a wonderful trip!
Our Teresa was amazing through Pompeii. Very informative and comical as well. Our tour guides to the wineries were amazing and made you feel very welcome. Roberto and his son made us feel so welslcome and the whole day was so fun and relaxing. Lots of great history good wine and food and company.
The tour of Pompeii and the guide were excellent. This is such an amazing place where we can learn about history of the people of Pompeii before the tragic end. the next stop was the beautiful Bosco de Medici WINERY in Pompeii. From the beautiful grounds to the incredible lunch and wine tasting made for a perfect day. Everyone there was so accommodating and friendly! The food was delicious and the wines were wonderful! Highly recommend this fantastic winery and the awesome day of touring and the high speed train. Very well done! Thank you all!
A day well spent! Pompeii and wineries. The perfect combination. I am so glad I booked this tour. I will definetely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pompeii.
We had an awesome day, we walked to the train station in Sorento from the cruise port, took the train to Pompeii. We met with Sonya who guided us through the ruins, beating the crowds while explaining everything throughly. After 2 hours we were transported to our 1st winery, Bosco De Medici, where we were provided a tour of their winery and grounds. Then off to wine tasting and a bite to eat. The wines were outstanding, we tasted 5 wines and limoncello. Our group liked all that we tasted and and had a good meal. We purchased wine and our purchase was shipped to our house. Then off to our 2nd winery, Tenuta Sorrentino, for our next tasting. The views were outstanding, the atmosphere was relaxed. The wines were good, but not as good as the 1st winery. They used the same glasses for the wines without rinsing them out. If we did the tour again we would have went to the ruins and 1 winery, however the views of the second winery made it worth the trip. We were then driven back to the cruise port in Serento.
Unfortunately, we missed the tour of Pompeii as we were running late. But the wine tours were amazing! Lorenzo our driver was so kind and knowledgeable. We had such a great time with him. He was a local so gave great tips for the area. Would miss the Pompeii tour again just for him.
Excellent!!!! Antonio our 4th generation guide was so knowledgeable!!!! He answered all of our questions and had so much background information
Our tour guide was very experience and provided a great Pompei tour. She knew how to best navigate the city to hit best locations while avoiding the many crowd. Very interesting! Wine tour was great as well. Our guide for that portion was Lorenzo and he gave us lots of great local history and perspective while we enjoyed the lovely fruits of the vine.
“Our day started with a personal tour of Pompeii highlights - perfect amount of time to be able to ask questions and go at your pace. Followed by 2 wineries, each with extensive tastings and hearty appetizers ( plus pasta lunch served at first location). Definitely recommend this value for the money!”
This was so worth the money. The tour was incredible and informative, and the wine tastings were just fabulous. We also met some amazing people. It was a highlight of our trip. Would definitely recommend!
Our tour guide, Mena was amazing. It was so cool to see Pompeii in person and learn so much about it that I didn't know. The wineries were also a very nice end to a long, hot day. We were a little nervous at the last winery because our driver was late and we couldn't get a hold of him, but he made it up by making an extra stop at the train station for us to catch our ride back.
This was an amazing tour!!! We felt so taken care of by both or driver and your guide. Both wineries were great and we had an amazing time. Highly highly recommend!
We went to the Amalfi coast for our honeymoon, and our excursion with Taste the Experience was one of the highlights of our whole trip. Our Pompeii tour guide was so knowledgeable, and the two wineries were such a treat after walking around the ruins. Giuseppe and his team were so accommodating, and we really enjoyed getting to talk with them throughout the experience. There is a lot offered with the tour, making it well worth the price. I would absolutely book a tour with them again! I would also highly recommend booking directly with them via their website instead of going through TripAdvisor or Get Your Guide, as it will save you a little extra money.
Incredible day of history, culture, food and wine. My husband and I had a wonderful time exploring the vast site of Ancient Pompeii with our guide Fran. So knowledgeable, funny and passionate about the history and stories of this magical place. We also had a fantastic wine tasting with food driven by Dino & Giuseppe to Bosco Di Medici and then onto Sorrentino on Mt Vesuvius. Highly recommend..
Enjoyed the comibiatio. Of Pompeii tour and the wineries. The tour of Pompeii was informative, if a bit rushed. As we walked up to the site, more information on the Pompeii society would have been great along with spending more time in the plaza, which we really just walked through quickly. The guide said we were behind but we still had :30 min left in the tour at that point. The wineries were both great locations and very different from each other. The food and wine at the first location was excellent and we would have been happy to stop there. The second location had a great view, but the food was subpar.
We loved every bit of this tour - nothing could have been done differently to make it better. Our Pompeii guide was witty, charismatic, and knew every other guide there. He was able to get us around to the main highlights and share interesting tidbits so we felt we really got a great picture despite only being at the site two hours. The wineries were incredible. We got dropped off at Bosco De' Medici, where we were happily surprised to find we had a private tour via golf cart (exactly what you want after walking around Pompeii for 2 hours on a hot morning). We were immediately given a frizzante, then had a delightful three-course meal at our own table, with all the wine we could want, where we were supervised by the delightful Vincenzo and Uva the cat. When we were done, our excellent driver, Mario, whisked us off to Sorrentino for more food and wine. They mostly let us experience the tasting in peace, which is exactly what we wanted at the end of the long day. Our vinter kept reappearing to offer us wine anytime we wanted. It was a perfect start to our honeymoon.
Absolutely loved this excursion. The tour was perfect, the small group allowed us to tour around and see what we wanted. The wineries were a beautiful addition. Special.
Top notch tour. From the guided tour of Pompeii, to the two vineyards and the shuttle service between each, incredibly well done. Would absolutely do this again.
Was a great tour and a highlight wa sthe the winery tour. Lorenzo was a champion and extremely accommodating with transporting us around and providing tips for our trip through Amalfi Coast.
Great tour of Pompei and the wineries were so much fun. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of Pompei and the wineries were gorgeous. Lovely way to spend the day!
We loved this entire day! There was 13 of us, but our guide gave us ear pieces so we could hear everything she said and made us feel like we had a personal experience. The ruins are huge, and you won’t see everything in your 2 hours, but our tour guide did a fantastic job of maximizing our entire time. Plus, it was super hot when we went, so 2 hours was perfect. We opted for the 4 hours of wine tasting and I reccomend that option as it allowed us to go to two wineries. Like a few mentioned, you don’t quite feel like you’re in the thick of the mountains but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The wine & food at the first spot were delicious. I do wish our waiter explained each wine better. The second stop was also nice and featured a bit more detail on the wines, but it’s mostly about trying them on your own as you eat. We also got to really know the other 11 people on our tour. It was cool to find out everyone’s backgrounds. TLDR: Fun, educational & lots of wine! Pro tip. If you’re coming from Naples and it’s hot out, I reccomend paying the extra $ for the Campania Express. It’s much faster and there’s AC! It was about 12 euros more a person. But worth it.
Manuella, our Pompeii tour guide, was awesome. She provided relevant information with enthusiasm, which is surprising given that she's probably said the same things hundreds of times. The wineries were not exactly on the slopes of Vesuvius like I was imagining, but they were very kind hosts with generous pours and good food. We had the opportunity to drink and eat quite a bit which made for a fun and lively afternoon with the rest of the group.
I don't know where to begin. Everything was INCREDIBLE. For starters, the tour of Pompeii was great and FULL of so much information that I had never learned before. Our tour guide, Sofia, was excellent and was such a blast. She has so much knowledge of everything Pompeii. Dino was our driver to the wineries, and he was very fun and knowledgeable on so many random things about Southern Italy. Hearing him talk about so many things about Pompeii, wine, food, and cheese was incredible. Then the Wineries... both were absolutely incredible. I have been on many wine-tasting tours through Europe, but none could be compared to the two we visited. Both were incredible and had great wine, some of the best I have ever tasted, and they didn't stop bringing us wine! This was definitely my favorite tour that I've done in Italy, and I 1000% recommend everyone to do this tour. I absolutley will do it again when I find myself in Southern Italy.
This experience was exceptional! It was our first time to Pompeii and if we hadn’t had our guide, it would have been overwhelming. The tour was a nice small group of 8 people total with our guide for 2 hours. She kept us moving along and gave us great information and stories! Our tour guide was Manuela and she was fantastic!! After the tour, Manuela passed us to our driver Gennaro who took us to our first winery. Gennaro was a hoot! So friendly and personable. The second winery was beautiful!! We started with a delicious glass of sparkling wine for a toast and went on to the garden dining area for lunch. Lunch was paired with 4 tastings, an appetizer board, and a delicious pasta dish. Followed by desert and Limoncello. So much food! We then took a quick tour of the grounds with a lovely young lady that gave us interesting information about the grounds of the winery. The staff at this winery was very attentive and some of them were quite fun! Off to the second winery with Gennaro. This one was more in the country and the views were exquisite. Here we had another 4 tastings and a “snack”- meats, cheeses, veggies, fried spaghetti- we were so full! We ended up running a little behind schedule but our driver never rushed us and didn’t make us feel bad about it- he said it was no problem. If you are looking to have an excellent day of history, wine and food (with much fun!) this experience is for you! I highly recommend it!
“The tour was great. Theresa really knew about the ruins and tried to keep us in front of the crowds which made the tour feel a bit rushed but I do not fault her for that at all... Theresa took us to all the important sites and we got to see exactly what we came for!”
This was genuinely our favorite day of our entire visit in Italy. The tour of Pompeii was great and informative and very manageable (i.e. not a complete overload of information where it all turns into a blur). The drivers we had to the wineries were very fun and amiable, and happy to answer all our questions. We had a great time as well at the wineries themselves. We drank a lot of wine, and they absolutely STUFF you with food! Our whole group was 8 people, all from english-speaking countries, and it was very fun to learn about their countries from them and get to know people from other cultures. Absolutely so completely worth it!
Teresa, aka Mother Teresa, was funny, witty, entertaining and gave us a full explanation as to why the vendors in the area were peddling phallic symbols. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii, and had great insight into how Pompeiian society functioned.
Our tour guides were so friendly and informative. We had such an amazing experience at all 3 locations, highly recommend! The wineries were absolutely breathtaking and the weather held up. Make sure to bring appropriate walking shoes. Sophia especially is wonderful!
Seeing the ruins and meeting new people. Small group setting was perfect Do not recommend for anyone needing wheel chair or cannot walk long distances!
Enjoyable experience and highly recommended. The visit to the wineries was a real treat after the tour of Pompeii. The tour itself was also very informative about the history of Pompeii. Amazing to see how developed the city was at the time of its destruction. The visit to the wineries included a healthy lunch so recommended to have a good appetite when going. Also some of the wines we tasted were very, very good!
Great tour of Pompei Ruins followed by a visit to two amazing wineries. Everything ran really smoothly and our host was really helpful. Highly recommend.
