A guided tour around Pompei was excellent and very informative. We was then picked up by Alessio Zamboni, who drove us to our lunch stop at Kona, where we enjoyed a pizza and some downtime. We then continued our ride to Versuvius for our climb. Alessio arrived at the time he said to collect us and drove us back to our hotel. We thank Alessio for his excellent driving and wonderful conversation during our journey. We highly recommend this company and Alessio.
Trip well organised with informative and helpful guide Emmanuela to Pompeii and Ivana with driver Maduke to Vesuvius.
The tour was fantastic!! Our guide for Pompeii was a local and she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Pompeii. Our driver, Roberto, was brilliant. We were the only 2 doing the VIP lunch and Vesuvius portion of the tour and he took the time to explain lots of different aspects of life in Naples. Thank you so much to Christian who co-ordinated the tour, Roberto, our driver and to Napoli City Vision.
This is a great tour to get a taste of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Be prepared to do quite a bit of walking. Our guide Alessandra together with the bus driver ensured we had a very good experience. Pompeii is huge so beware that what you’ll only see a portion of it. But what you get to see is very nice. The lunch was good at a calm restaurant.
Wonderful day tour from Naples, thoroughly recommended Chris was arranger & Aldo our fantastic driver.
We had such an interesting outing to Pompeii and Vesuvius; Allessandro was an excellent driver and full of interesting information about Naples.
Awesome tour ! Great food ! Pompeii was fantastic. Chris took care of everything ! Merci ! Great birthday celebration over lunch
Private tour is the way to go! Richard helped us arrange a wonderful tour with Gianluca in Pompeii that was excellent. We had Aldo as our driver that provided an excellent tour of Naples highlights ALL over the city which was filled with music and laughter. This is our second time booking with Richatd in as many years and we would do it again!!! Oh,and our wine tasting tour and lunch are not to be skipped. The view and food were simply delightful. Gracie Mille!!
Cero was so very helpful and courteous- and a real good driver. Alex was wonderful- so much knowledge- that he shared with us-and a really nice person. He made the day really enjoyable!
Alex and Cero were fantastic! It's always great to get a tour from a true local that really knows and loves the history! This was an awesome tour! If you can make it to the summit, do it!! The views are spectacular.
We had a great tour overall visiting Pompeii and Vicuvius. We were greeted at pickup by Giuseppe who was with us on the bus the whole day and brought great energy and life to our journey between stops. We were taken around Pompeii by a really knowledgeable guide (Gino possibly, apologies if the name is wrong!). Lunch was fine, tasty but quite basic, choice of magheritta pizza, tomato spaghetti or chicken and chips. Marcelo our driver navigated the narrow roads up and down Vicuvius without issue, and we got great views from the top. Overall a worthwhile trip during our stay in Naples! Vanessa & Chris
We had a fantastic time, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, made the trip very interesting. Very helpful, arrived on time, would recommend using this tour company. At the end of the day they went out of there to drop us back at the hotel and not the pick up point about 5 minutes away. We would use again.
Our team was very accommodating, patient and kept us on time and punctual. They had us all laughing and singing on the bus, our tour guide Monica was so in informative on our tour. We had a great time!
We had a group of 11. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to Pompeii where we skipped the line and went right to the ruins! Our guide was an experienced archeologist and was so knowledgeable about the history of the digs and the civilization. From Pompeii we went to the winery for a short tour and a leisurely lunch / wine tasting with picturesque views right out of a postcard Our guides and drivers we fun engaging. Overall an excellent tour from start to finish! Gratzi Napoli City Vision Tours!!!
We had a great time on this tour! Pompeii is beyond words and there is so much to see. Our Guide Maria did an amazing job at summarizing the major aspects during our tour. It was great!
The van dripped water on us the whole ride there. I had to beg them to give me 5 minutes in the gift shop. Going to mount Vesuvius got canceled because of the rain. They did give us alternate options, but we were told that if we went back to Naples, Viator would issue a partial refund. So they refused to give us lunch, refused to let us spend extra time in Pompeii at the shops, and rushed us back to Naples. Then when Viator reached out to them, they lied about what happened and now Viator is refusing even a partial refund. These people are scam artists! DO NOT BOOK!
The tour company was amazing. Well organised and the day ran very well. The lunch was delicious and there was ample time to take your time. Definitely recommend.
Selena and the drivers were very professional and helpful. It was a great trip overall and they even stopped at a local shop for some free lemon cello tastings on the way back from the trip
Although the trip to Pompeii was really interesting, to have part of the day cancelled, when the tour was already in progress was poor, especially as the visit to mount Vesuvius was the reason for booking. A refund should have been offered just as soon as this was not possible. Also, it's very odd that other companies are/we're still running that tour.
We originally planned to do the Pompeii/ Mt Vesuvius hike. They use the website vivaticket for you to purchase tickets to hike Mt Vesuvius and there were none available for the date we booked for. It was slightly frustrating as my husband was really looking forward to it. However, upon reaching out to the tour company, they offered two different options to do instead and we ended up doing a wine tasting at Vesuvius after our tour of Pompeii. The tour of Pompeii was well done. Laura had a lot of knowledge and was nice to help find people shade and take multiple breaks. I’d prefer less breaks but there were other people in the group that I think benefited from them as it was so hot. Although I may be one of few, I was slightly disappointed that we only saw 3 of the cast remains. I’m unsure if there were more, but I thought there was going to be. We then we’re driven via bus to Mt Vesuvius Winery. The staff was very nice there and we did a wine tasting with 5 different wines as well as an appetizer, lunch, and dessert. We even purchased our favorite wine from the winery store. All in all would recommend for people hoping to visit Pompeii.
After a problem with the reservation of our excursion through voyage privé, we made a reservation through our hotel with Napoli City Vision to visit the ruins of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. The experience with this company and especially our driver (Ricardo) was really perfect!! Timely pickup at the front of our hotel, Relaxing drive to our destinations and great chatting with the driver who explained the history of the region and was extremely helpful! He put everything in place to make us at ease! Really fantastic experience! A big recommendation!!
We had a full day tour with Napoli City. First we visited Pompeii. Our guide was extremely informative and patient with our group. She showed us many points of interest and gave us time to explore. Our group then split up to go on to other tours. After lunch my daughter and I were fortunate enough to continue with Angela our guide, Pasquale our own private driver up to Mt Vesuvius. We were given ample time to reach the crater and return. Can highly recommend this company. They were truly professional. We had a wonderful day on their tour.
The tour organizers were were nice and helpful. It made it a lot easier to do what I wanted to do--see Pompeii and hike Vesuvius. I would certainly reccomend.
The guided visit to Pompei was very interesting. Lunch was very basic with very small portions. Visit to the top of Mount Vesuvius was cancelled due to weather conditions. It would have been ideal if the tour operator offered an alternative before leaving Pompei, particularly considering that at this point, the group splits into smaller groups for different excursions.
The Pompeii tour was overcrowded with 50+ people. Vesuvius tour was still better. not worth the money.
Overall . It was amazing to see the ruins and the crater of Mt. Visuvius. My only issue was the guide we had was not attentive to the people she was taking around. She walked fast, it was difficult to keep up with her. I'm in my late 50's and I feel she was too fast. We had an elderly couple in the group and was told numerous times by People in the group to slow down but brushed it off and just went on walking and talking on the mike without checking behind her. She was like a robot just going thru the motions of her job. Pompeii showed how the romans lived before 79Ad. And it's amazing after almost 2000 yrs. that we see remnants of that era. Proof of their existence. Truly a MUST SEE! Great tour!
This tour company seems to run like a well oiled machine. They’re well staffed, and had our group organized with seamless pickup and transportation throughout the day. We were offered water immediately after being greeted. We were organized into “dominant language groups”, so our guide wasn’t required to repeat things multiple times in different languages. This also allowed our group to become friendly because we all spoke English. When I’m the only English speaker on a guided experience, the language barrier with fellow travelers is usually insurmountable unless they speak Spanish. We had an English speaking guide for our Pompeii tour, and I found her extremely informative. Pompeii is a big site, and the two hours was used wisely to show us key highlights. Lunch was good, and the staff were very attentive to our needs. After lunch, those of us planning to walk up Vesuvius were transported to the site. Some of our morning group was heading elsewhere and buses were waiting to take all of us to our different afternoon destinations. We had roughly one hour to make the trek up Vesuvius and back down. That worked very well, and I didn’t feel rushed. If coming to Naples, these two are a must see.
It was an average trip to Pompeii. The trip is not suitable for buggies and the tour guide should state this before leaving the bus. It was a great struggle where the tour guide did not help unless we stated there were issues. We were told it was going to be an English tour, however, it ended up being three languages (English, Spanish and Italian) where you get given an ear piece to listen to the information. This would have been good if it was just English but as a family we gave up trying to listen and understand when the English would be spoken. The earpieces were a touch and go. Not really pleased with the service to be honest. We were restricted to following the tour guide and not spending time to do own exploring. Lunch was good. The trip to Mount Vesuvius was great, partly because we got to do our own exploring and the walk to the top of the mountain is absolutely stunning! Make sure you wear appropriate shoes and take water! A great team vibe of encouraging others.
I am a demanding customer, but I got exactly what I paid for, and was not disappointed. Pompeii is amazing. The tour guide was very professional and with good humour. I saw the most essential sight seeings in Pompeii. Maybe, I should come again to see more... The Vesuvius part was also really great. I highly recommend it if you like mountains and good views. However, do not expect to see lava etc. Thank G-d it is not an active volcano, though I saw smoke coming out in one place. You should go there for good views, and also as a historically important place.
Let me start by saying both of these venues are amazing, however, we would have been better off visiting on our own. The biggest disappointment of this tour was the Pompeii visit. The guides were unorganized and did not have information on what type of tour package you had purchased. Instead they were asking everyone which package was purchased and if you had skip the line or not. We get to Pompeii and start the tour which was very interesting. The big disappointment was when we are near the end of the tour and I ask about where the bodies are and when we are going to see them. Oops sorry we are out of time not going to see the bodies. How do you give a tour of Pompeii without visiting this section?! We then had our lunch stop and the food was good. Next on to Mt Vesuvius. This was also a good tour, but needed more time to get to the top and enjoy the views. Was a little rushed trying to get back down and to the bus on time. Again after visiting Italy there are venues where a tour guide is beneficial and other sites where really not necessary. These 2 sites can definitely be see on your own.
it started ok with a bus ride to pompeji - the guide was professional the tour interesting...so far so good...after that - around 12:00 - the comedy began...we drove to a sort of restaurant in the middle of nowhere to get our mentioned lunch... but still i don‘t know if it was food... or something else... stayed there forever..after that our group changed the bus for vesuvio...the new guide... ok - no words... at the vesuvio we got the info to be back 35 min later... if you‘re really fast you can make it in 20 min to the top....but you also want to enjoy the view!! impossible to do that on time... i think we were 20 min late... for sure the bus disappeared we had to take taxi - and this is what i would recommend!! taxi or public transport...the ticket for vesuvio you‘ll get there...easy- cheaper - no stress!!!
Honestly, I was really looking forward to this tour. I hate to say it but I was disappointed. I am comparing this tour with others I took while I was in Europe for more than three weeks. I found the tour guide pleasant, but not very knowledgeable about Pompeii. The tour did not include any of the artifacts left as a result of the eruption. I thought we would see the remains of the people that were unable to escape. We did see one young woman that was encased in glass....but that's it. Truthfully, I was anticipating the end of the tour thinking.....this is it.....this is the grand finale....but it wasn't so. I wouldn't recommend this tour. We were also scheduled to visit Vesuvius but because of the weather, it was cancelled. As a substitute, we were taken on a bus tour of the Amalfi coast. It was OK but not what I signed up for.
Mount Vesuvius was closed due to a landslide so it understanbly was cancelled, of course not their fault. They gave us alternative choice that was a trip to amalfi (which was so beautiful!). Pompeii was great but a bit messy at the begginnign, the rock show thingy felt like just advertising to the company and we wasted a lot of time there. Nothing to complain about pompeii itself, amazing trip and learned a lot there.Restaurant had very good food, got very surpised there. Good trip, worth the moneys.

The weather was awful for the time we were in Naples but luckily the day of our trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius was good as Vesuvius had not been accessible the day before. Our guide was entertaining and full of information, speaking good English. Due to a couple of our group getting lost our time on Vesuvius was short and the cloud had come down by the time we got there so no view!!
Nothing that marred the day was the fault of the organisers, except not being fed in good time as the waiters for our inclusive meal left us alone waiting for our two lost group members as they were not told about the issue.

Great tour guide and informative trip around Pompeii. Unfortunately we couldn't go to Mount Vesuvius in the afternoon due to the weather but we were offered two alternative options and chose to go to Herculaneum with the same guide, which was fantastic! Very glad we went there as well, our guide was brilliant. Also had a lovely lunch at Pompeii in between and were picked up/dropped off right by our hotel.

Very knowledgable and friendly guide, which made the Pompeii part of the tour well worth doing as an organised trip. As for the Mt Vesuvius part, the guide waited at the bottom so we didn't actually learn anything. I therefore thought that this trip was very expensive for what it was.

We took this trip our guide was Livio it was very good. Great insight into the city of Pompeii with lots of interesting facts and humour. Highly recommend.

It was wonderful our visit to Pompeii. The local guide was very knowledgeable in highlighting the history and facts about Pompeii and the Pompeiianos. The weather did not cooperate as much as rain came in and out frequently. But the sporadic rain was not too heavy to dampen the spirit of the trip. I learned a lot about Pompeii. The lunch was quite good and enjoyable.
The Mount Vesuvius trip was cancelled because of the heavy cloud cover. The guides offered to replace it with the Erculano tour, with an additional charge. The visit was very good. May be adding another 30 minutes to the free time would allow to take in more of the site.
Good and commendable guides on both visit!

Got to walk through the Pompeii ruins which was pretty cool. The tour guide was knowledgeable in the history. She pointed out bakeries, shops, the well-known houses of rich or famous people. She took us to what was the brothel! You could tell by the paintings on the walls. HAHA. Then we went to Mt. Vesuvius but the tour guide ended because she waited in the van and did not climb to the top like I did.

we read about history but when you are actually there it almost comes to life great tour view and picture of mount Vesuvius are amazaing ty

All in all I think it was an average tour. The Pompeii part of the tour was ok, and operated along with a few other groups the operator runs a few different Pompeii other destination combos. We basically run through the motion just like most other tours you do in major sites in Italy. For the Mount Vesuvius part of the trip, we were told it was not doable due to windy conditions after arriving the Mountain and was left there for a 15 mins photo time. The operator did try to make up for it by taking us to a seaside lookout at Naples. But I thought the operator could have made some planning and offer some alternatives before we departed for the Mountain. We also overheard some of us speak Italian the operators talking about this issue in Pompeii amongst themselves, so I believe they knew the issue before. Net net I believe it was an average tour and could have been handled a lot better.

The guides were excellent and learning more about the history of this ancient civilization was amazing.

We booked a tour in Italian but guides had not been informed and were only organised for Eng and Spanish. They were nice and ended up making the tour in 3 languages. The visit to pompei is too short and too fast,in a hurry and we missed important point like the forum and amphitheatre.Vesúvio was good.

Disorganized and rushed, lunch was a fiasco. The guide was good leading around Pompeii, but no time to stop for pictures. Rush rush rush! Entrance to climb Vesuvius is NOT included. Worth it, but not included with the tour price.

The tour of Pompeii was great, very thorough. Although we didn't cover the whole of Pompeii the site itself is very big and if you are doing 2 tours in one day it is not possible to cover the whole grounds, we were given an idea of what the entire site entailed and the history.

Unfortunately, we were unable to climb Vesuvius due to weather conditions but were given the option to join one of the other tours in the day, and so we went to the Amalfi coast instead - which is well worth it! Our driver/tour guide was fabulous, stopping all over the city for photo opportunities and great views! We also visited a Limoncello factory on the way and were given free shots of the products.

Amazing and informative walk through the ancient city of Pompeii. The guide was helpful and engaging.

Both of both worlds. From the ruins to the top of the volcano cause of the ruin . The lunch was delicious!! it gave us energy for the climb.

This was good well worth doing but Vesuvius was closed due to high winds so we missed half the trip.

A really enjoyable and interesting excursion with enthusiastic and informative guides. Would have preferred a shorter break for lunch to allow more time at Vesuvius.
