What a fantastic experience. I simply cannot put into words the satisfaction I had with everything that happened that day, it was perfect. My phenomenal tour guide Antonino was perfect, he spoke great English, took his time explaining everything, engaged me in conversation about what we were looking at and allowed me to wander around when I would suddenly go 'oh look, shiney'. I couldn't have been happier with the entire day. I got picked up at my hotel in Naples and then went to Herculaneum and Pompeii, I had a bum knee so we did not go to Mount Vesuvius. The price of admission was covered in the booking so I don't know how much individually it was to enter the sites. It is not cheap going solo but consider that you get a pick up, drop off, driver, interpreter, tour guide, entrance to the sites paid in advance and he handles all interactions for you. I cannot recommend Antonino highly enough he made a fantastic trip so much better. If you are going solo or as a couple it is well worth the price. Make sure Antonino tells you the secret Mickey mouse at Pompeii, hehe. I SAW POMPEII.

Itinerary
You will meet a licensed guide, after purchasing tickets, the tour begins and you will be led by the guide through the ruins of this amazing ancient town.
The Civil Forum is the core of daily life in the city and is the focal point of all the main public buildings for city administration and justice, business management, and trade activities such as markets, as well as the main places of citizen worship.
Via dell'Abbondanza (or street of abundance), the most prosperous street in Pompeii.
The theatre area of Pompeii. Three main buildings make up this area: the Large Theatre, the Odeon (small theatre), and the Quadriporticum. These served as an entertainment and meeting centre of the city.
one of the richest and most magnificent houses in ancient Pompeii in terms of architecture, decoration and contents, and covers a large area of about 1,800 square metres (19,000 sq ft)
a perfect sample of a Roman bathing complex in Pompeii, Italy, the oldest and the largest of the 5 public baths in the city.
The Lupanar of Pompeii is the ruins of a brothel in the Ancient Roman city of Pompeii. It is of particular interest for the erotic paintings on its walls. Lupanar is Latin for "brothel". The Pompeii lupanar is also known as Lupanare Grande or the "Purpose-Built Brothel".
The Antiquarium of Pompeii began as an exhibition venue displaying archaeological finds that represented the daily life of the ancient city. Visitors can see archaeological discoveries from the excavations, casts of the victims of the Mount Vesuvius eruption as well as displays documenting Pompeii's settlement history before becoming a thriving Roman city.
The Archeological site of Herculaneum (in Italian: Scavi di Ercolano) is the area south of the town centre of modern Ercolano where the Roman town of Herculaneum has been excavated. Herculaneum was destroyed and buried by lava and mud during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79 together with Pompeii, Stabiae and Oplontis. In 1997 the Herculaneum site was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Although Herculaneum was discovered before Pompeii, the excavation was so difficult that it was repeatedly interrupted in favour of the easier excavation of Pompeii. Herculaneum is smaller and less famous than Pompeii, but better preserved due to the different volcanic materials that covered the town.
the ruins of a big house for the wealthy.
The House of the Wooden Tramezzo was built in the pre-Roman age, around the 1st century BC. The house has a typical patrician facade that ends with an oval cornice while at the base it has masonry seats used by waiting clientes before being received by the owner; along the walls of the entrance jaws there remain traces of stucco on which frescoes had been made, but these are faded by time. On the east side of the atrium is the tablinum: the two rooms are divided by means of a partition, i.e., a kind of folding door, as tall as a man, made entirely of wood, charred as a result of the eruption, with shaped doors and large bronze rings on which lamps were rested.
Main street.
The College of the Augustals was built at the end of the first century B.C., probably around 14 B.C., in the Augustan period, during the redevelopment of the entire area[2]: the building was desired and financed by the two brothers A. Lucius Proculus and A. Lucius Iulianus, who also offered, on the day of the inauguration, a banquet to both the Augustals and the decurions, as stated in an epigraph found on November 25, 1960, about two meters above the floor and today placed on a side wall of the College
Public bathhouse.
A museum, holding, among the others, an amazing collection of objects found next to the skeletons.

If I could give this 10 stars out of 5 - I would. Without doubt the standout tour of our fortnight in Naples and Florence. Antonino collected us and dropped us off. His knowledge and awareness were phenomenal and on top of that he was able to adjust the tour based on sensory needs of one of our party (visual and hearing impairment). I cannot emphasise this enough, he is just brilliant.
Brilliant! Antoninio was great! Kids were entertained and informed. Very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.
Our tour to both Herculaneum and Pompeii with Antonino was all that we could have hoped. Both sites are amazing and well worth a visit. Pompeii is huge. Antonino navigated the crowds here and took us to many interesting spots and for the most part we avoided a lot of the crowds. Highly recommend this tour.
This is my second tour with Antonino. He’s very good at teaching and guiding you through the ruins. This time I took my adult daughter and he was happy to customize our tour. Highly recommend!
We read the reviews for many of the tours and picked A Drive into the Blue and Antonino due to the many excellent reviews. Antonino was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, very interesting, a good driver and a very nice man. He had so many insights and facts for both Herculaneum and Pompeii. He answered all our questions and really gave us so much information on what life was like for the people that lived in both places. It was highly educational and entertaining to spend the day with Antonino. We highly recommend this tour!
My family and I booked a tour to Pompei and Ercolano with A Drive into the Blue. Our experience was amazing. Our tour guide, Antonino, was simply fantastic. He was knowledgeable and passionate about Ancient Roman history. He answered all our questions, and he was very patient with my kids. Antonino engaged them by adding interesting anecdotes that brought the tour to life. My kids loved it! The tour was very well organized, and we had a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend Antonino as tour guide to everyone.
Very poor communication from Antotino, I wouldn't suggest scheduling a tour with him, we scheduled one had it cancelled due to technical difficulties on his end, then rescheduled only to have him not communicate a meeting time so we went to the dock at the time listed on the booking and he didnt show, we then had to grab a taxi for our tour and Antotino charged us anyway! appalling
Antonino was awesome! He was super knowledgeable and very personable. Small things he pointed out on our tour, we were able to recognize on other tours. He provided an amazing experience for us and went above and beyond to ensure we got everything we could out of our time.
Our driver, Pepino, was prompt and a good driver and communicator. We all had a wonderful time! Pompeii was the most wonderful of the ruins we visited on our cruise, including Delos, Acropolis and Olympia. Our guide at Pompeii, Anna, was the best! Get there when it opens to miss the crowds. We didn't go to Positano due to time restrictions and traffic, but we all loved Sorrento, and were glad we could spend time for lunch and a little shopping. We'd highly recommend this tour by A Drive Into the Blue. Our only regret is spending just one day in the beautiful Naples area.
We have been in Italy for 6 days and have done a tour everyday. This tour guide and tour was our favorite of the entire trip. Tony was incredibly knowledgeable about Pompeii. You got the sense that this wasn't just a job for him, it is his passion. He was a great English speaker and everything was easy to understand. If I am ever back in the area I will be booking another tour with him.
We reserved deluxe group tour but unexpectedly upgraded to private tour and Gabby and Luca provided us with excellent service. Luca drove us safely and efficiently throughout the tour and Gabby was very knowledgeable for the sites we visited. They are really friendly and provided all the necessary information about the site. We had great time with them and this is one of the best experiences in our two week Italy trip. I will recommend them to my friends and to anybody who want great experience around Napoli.
The most outstanding tour of our two-week trip! Antonino was the kindest, most knowledgeable, patient, and utmost professional guide! I cannot say enough good things about him or our day together—from the large, luxury vehicle to his willingness to answer any and every one of our questions to him even recommending an incredible gelateria in Sorrento, it was high quality and high value from start to finish! I highly recommend!
Absolutely exciting experience. Antonino led us through the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum fascinating us with a thousand insights and anecdotes. Even my children were impressed bikes because Antonino was able to stand up to their liveliness and exuberance intriguing them a lot. It is not easy to find a Tour Guide so educated and at the same time empathetic. Interest even the little ones, it is not easy.We will repeat the experience with Adrive into the blue.I highly Recommendation!
This was the first of our two experiences with A drive into the blue. (the second was the Amalfi Coast tour) .A very instructive and exciting journey into antiquity! Antonino guided us masterfully in his tour of the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum capturing our attention with his many anecdotes and insights. Great choice!History, civilization, archaeology and Neapolitan culture described in such detail, precise but at the same time empathetic. This Tour Guide has literally passionated us... maybe it will be the enthusiasm of the moment, I do not know, but we are already assuming for next year a visit to the temples and museum of Pestum but asking the agency expressly Antonino.
We spent a fantastic day in Pompeii and Herculaneum thanks to the Antonine Guide. His professionalism and knowledge made the visit incredibly interesting. Antonino is very attentive and helpful with any questions and made the tour engaging and informative. Consigliatissimo!
fantastic experience thanks to the excellent Guide I had, Antonino. I wanted to spend a different day and have fun with my mind, and I succeeded very well for the beautiful things I visited and the professionalism of Antonino. Thanks again for this unforgettable day
Un escursione fantastica! A perfect combination of nature and culture. Antonino is a cultured, prepared, attentive, passionate Guide, who makes his listeners participate, not leaving them dissatisfied or dark. I would recommend anyone to go and have this experience both adults and children for its narrative and descriptive ability. This day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum was immersive and touching, congratulations indeed!
We recommend Antonino from A drive into the Blue. With nice and great empathy, Antonino managed to keep up with our curiosity and desire to know, telling us the story of the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Thank you so much for this beautiful day.
Thanks to Antonino we spent a fantastic day in Pompeii and Herculaneum. In addition to being an excellent driver, he is an extremely cultured and prepared Tour Guide. With his narrative ability he entertained a group of young boys and told in a simple and interesting way the story of the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. My friends and I will book another trip soon. Lo consigliamo vivamente!
When skill and passion are in perfect synergy. I booked the tour on Recommendation of my friends and I must say that the expectations were all up. Antonino, very expert Guide has been able to accompany us among the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, with great skill and mastery. It is not easy to speak so effectively , but at the same time simple and direct about history and archaeology . We also had 2 children in tow and he, with great empathy managed to capture their attention as well. Sincere applause and great thanks to Antonino. To be recommended absolutely.
