Pompeii, Positano And Sorrento Shore Excursion From Naples

Francesco was very good about stopping to allow us to take photos. The van was very comfortable. I would suggest this tour.

We were greeted by Luigi at the port who was very polite and knowledgeable. He shared lots of information including the best spots for lunch in Pompei and took us to the best photo spots. A great day - thank you!

Francesco drove the curving roads of the coast like an expert. He knew exactly where to stop to take in the amazing views!

Francesco was an great tour guide. He took drove us through Amalfi Coast, stopped at Sorrento and saw a little of Positano then headed back to Pompeii. He suggested a place for lunch which was amazing. Highly Recommend!

The drive to Amalfi Coast was beautiful. Our driver stopped and amazing lookouts and was patientl and let us take pictures. We had a really nice lunch in Positano and then went on to Pompeii.

Well we never got to do this tour as I was contacted via Whatsapp a few days prior, saying it was cancelled due to an issue with the vehicle......found it hard to believe they coukd not sort this out with several days notice 🤨 They then tried to sell us more expensive private tours. We were very lucky to have found a spot with another company when this one left us stranded. I wonder if they just didn't have enough participants 🤔 I'd booked this tour months ago

First of all, I want everyone to know our driver was super nice and very prompt. Unfortunately, what your description shows is not everthing we were given. 1. Your advertisement shows being picked up in a tour bus not an old mercedes Van that forced my wife and I to sit in front seat. We are bigger people and this was quite uncomfortable. 2. Your advertisement says destinations are Sorrento, Poisitano and Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. We stopped and took pic at Meta. We walked around Sorrento and no pics opportunity for the other locations. Lastly we went to Pompeii. I would have given 5 star. All we paid for is a driver and ticket to Pompeii. I wish we received what we paid for in the description. Not the value what I paid for. That tour was at most an 89.00 tour not 142.00

Giovanni was the absolute BEST! If we are ever able to make it back to the area I would only take a tour if he were the guide! One of the kindest most genuine people I met on our trip!

Sorrento was our favorite. Guide was very informative. Extremely clear about where to meet. We liked him.

This was absolutely not a good experience at all. Check our profiles, my husband and i use Viator faithfully on all our trips. We were supposed to have an English speaking guide per Viator's description. We had NO guide. We only had a driver that spoke ZERO English. We got ZERO narration on our drives to and from destinations. No history. Nothing at all We knew we were not going to have a guide in Pompeii per Viator's description. We were fine with that. We knew that lunch was not included. However the driver took us to some Winery in the middle of nowhere ... where nothing else was around. We thought well this is a nice surprise we didn't know about this. Neither did any of the other people on the tour with us. It turned out that it was a wine tasting that included basically Tapas with the wine tasting. We all thought well this is a lovely surprise. Not! They ended up charging us all $60 each. If that was going to be the case, we should have known this before having to sit down thinking that this was part of a tour that the driver was taking us on and been advised that if we wanted to partake it would cost us $60 each! We had no choice we were just going with the flow. Of course the driver could not tell us anything because he did not speak English! A a very low review will be posted for Viator on this particular tour. Other than the beautiful destinations, it was awful and we were totally misled by the Viator description.

Everything was awesome considering we went against the usual flow of traffic. But we didn’t see the pompeii casts because he really didn’t tell us where to look. Our driver is very nice, helps with pictures & points out Mt Vesuvius but couldn’t really speak great English. The wine tasting ended up an additional €60 per person which not was disclosed in the beginning. Plus wasted a lot of time there. Although a very pleasant experience, if we were notified in advance of payment, we wouldn’t have been shocked. Lastly, we had to rush through Pompeii because we were tired, drunk & couldn’t really find the body casts which was such a bummer. That was supposedly the highlight of the tour.

Giovanni has five star reviews because he goes above and beyond on his tours. He truly enjoys showing people his beautiful country. He finds THE BEST best places to eat and the best locations for great pictures!

Giovanni was excellent and very insightful and made our day. He stopped off at brilliant photograph opportunity’s that we would never have known about. The tour itself was brilliant with stunning views of the amalfi coast, a nice time in sorrento and finally some history with the ruins of pompei. Giovanni, the guide, gave a nice fresh intro of the different points we visited with him for the long duration of the excursion. Despite the language barrier, he efficiently got us to see many attractions. He maintained contact at key moments even when he dropped us to pick us back up. We experienced the street life in Sorento (even with the crowd of the high season), the drive along the Amalfi coast and then the generous time at Pompeii to allow us to see a decent % of the Pompeii site. We did appreciate the elements that show the relatively advanced infrastructure that existed in the city. We came out of the excursion having a good idea of what we may do next time we visit Italy south of Rome. Thank you Giovanni for the help to connect with the rest of the small group that is shown in the photo.

Our driver/guide made our excursion perfect. Giovanni provided our small group of 4 with much information. He was so kind, considerate, and helpful. He took photos for us and gave us just enough time to see what we wanted. We were 100% pleased and will always ask for Giovanni. Worth every penny because of Giovanni.

We had a wonderful day today 13th August despite the weather being almost unbearably hot and humid, around 35°C. Our minibus had three Italians, two French Canadians and us, three Irish people, Giovanni our driver managed to communicate with all of us, mainly using English and sometimes using a translator app to help our French speakers, or if he couldn’t find the right phrase in English. He took us to good spots to get photos and the route he took seemed to avoid the worst of the traffic, we passed through Sorrento on the way to Positano early in the morning, and when we returned later for an hour of free time the traffic had built up considerably and would’ve made trying to get to Positano very time consuming. We didn’t actually go into Positano, but to a lovely viewing spot when we could take photos. I think going into the town would’ve made the tour unmanageable. When we returned to Sorrento we had an hour to do what we wanted. As my mobility isn’t great we didn’t wander too far from the main square meeting spot, but we still had time to shop for Limoncello and have a coffee while we people watched. It would’ve been nice to be on the seafront, but again that probably wasn’t feasible. Finally we headed to Pompeii. We grabbed a pizza lunch, some were better than others, and then used our included entrance ticket to visit the ruins. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get around quite well using a walker, it was only the oppressive heat that stopped me seeing more. There were quite a few ramps available, but I did get caught out by one set of huge stepping stones that I had to be helped to cross. In reality you’d need several hours, or even days, to see Pompeii properly. This tour was a taster of three lovely locations, that’s all it could be. Giovanni was a lovely driver who did his best to give us a good trip.

What a fantastic day spent with our tour guide Giovanni! He was easy to spot once we got off the cruise ship. We had a semi private tour for our family of five and two other people. We started off with the drive to Positano for some picture postcard views. We continued on to Sorrento where we had some free time to explore. Could have spent a ton more time there but a good reason to plan a trip back. After that, we made our way back to Pompeii, but before then we wanted a place to have lunch and Giovanni recommended a great little out-of-the-way restaurant at the locals frequent. The food did not disappoint! After lunch, we hit Pompeii. It was hot! Giovanni was waiting for us after our tour right where he said he would be with the air conditioning on in the van! You could tell that Giovanni had a passion for his job and for the city in which he calls home. It was such a wonderful day. Thank you to Giovanni For sharing his knowledge and stories during our drive.

We were on a cruise and this was the only viator tour that was a bit of a disappointment. Our tour guide gave very little if any information the whole ride to Sorrento. We had to ask if the big mountain on our left was Mount Vesuvius which should have been an easy thing to point out. She was either texting of talking on her phone most of the time we were driving. We got to Sorrento and we had an hour. We parked 15 minutes away from the town so walking to and from the town took up half that time. Sorrento was quite nice, but if you stopped to get a little something to eat it made for a mad dash from the town to the van in very hot temperatures. We got back to the van on time but soaking wet from running. The tour would have been much better if we had more time in Sorrento and less than 2 and a half hours in Pompeii. As far as a guide, there was very little information given and they could have saved themselves some money by just having a van driver pick us up and drop us off at these locations.

Sorrento beautiful views. Pompei archeological site was so interesting but the map was not clear. You get lost easily. Positano road was closed because of landslide.

Lemonade stop and view. Sorrento was fabulous. Pompeii was interesting. Weather was great and driver did a nice job getting us where we were going.

Giovanni was an excellent driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. Even though we had a bit of a language barrier, he was resourceful and used an app to translate. He was very attentive and flexible so we were able to see much of the coast and get some amazing pictures. I’d highly recommend.

Giovanni, our driver was very good. Although his English was somewhat limited, he made sure we always understood. There was heavy traffic due to accidents on the Amalfi highway, so did not make it to Positano, but not our driver’s fault. We enjoyed Sorrento and Pompeii and Giovanni was very conscientious to get us back to the ship port on time. Very responsible and kind man.

The driver Giovanni was amazing and mad the whole trip worth. He mad us fell as if we were family. He gave great advice and knowledge of the area.

Wonderful tour! Only critique is for Pompeii they just drop you off with tickets. This trip would have been perfect if Pompeii had a guide. You are given a Italian map and it’s really hard to navigate what you should see in an hour and a half.

Highly recommend! It was a very nice tour. The pickup was very easy and efficient. Driver was waiting for the small group at the designated pickup spot. We immediately headed to Sorrento with some photo stops. After some free time in Sorrento, we drove over to the Amalfi coast with a couple of photo of stops. We then headed to Pompeii. After sometime in Pompeii, it was a quick trip back to the port. We were able to see a lot in five or six hours. We were dropped off at the cruise port. The driver was very friendly and helpful with knowing where to get the best photos.

We had a wonderful day with Giovanni. He was a very careful and safe driver and the minivan was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We were able to see and experience all the things on the itinerary and at Pompeii we then had Teresa for our guide. She is an archaeologist and her commentary was most interesting and entertaining. We can thoroughly recommend this company and more specifically Giovanni and Teresa as excellent guides.

All in all, a nice tour with a pleasant guide although he spoke little English. Our guide, Giovanni, tried hard but used Google translate a lot. Everything was professional and timely.

My family and I enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide Giovanni vas very punctual, courteous and friendly. Giovanni had candies and water for us in his van, and he drives very well. He is very good at his job because he expertly avoided traffic and recommended a great place to eat at the end of the tour. He got us back to the ship with time to spare.

Giovanni was a FABULOUS guide. He was so knowledgeable about the Amalfi coast and took us to some of the most spectacular sites along the way. We highly recommend this tour and especially Giovanni!

I basically paid for a taxi ride. The driver spoke minimal English. He even asked us where we would like to go. Well, we don't know! That's why I hired a guide. Then I thought this was a private tour. However, another family was in the same van. Their son threw up everywhere. It was such a terrible experience. Never again...

Three of us had a wonderful time in Sorrento and Pompeii, and a beautiful photo op in Positano. Francesco was extremely caring throughout the day trip. He took family photos for us, and sent us directly back to our cruise ship. It was very nice to meet other travelers, and we had a leisurely lunch at an Italian restaurant. Highly recommend this small-group tour (8 pax) if you decide to travel independently from your cruise.

I had the pleasure of being guided by Francesco C. He was an amazing tour guide. I was lost and late arriving and he called and directed me to the location well. His English, in my opinion is very good. Well enough to give informative tours. Everything was timed very well. Also, he is a great photographer. I appreciate all the photos. Francesco will go out of his way to accommodate the group and that is very much appreciated. The sights were beautiful, food was delicious and the driving was the best I’ve seen since being in Naples.

The entire tour was fantastic! Prompt pick up from the terminal, comfortable transport, engaging and excellent tour guide Giovanni, lunch spot was delicious and the tour at Pompeii with Paolo was thorough and entertaining. Finished with a transfer to the recommended as having ‘the best pizza in the world’ (aptly described) Pizzaria de Michele. Would highly recommend!

Our tour was wonderful with breathtaking sights in Sorrento and Positano along the Amalfi Coast. Our lunch was very good. Francesco was very accommodating and helpful.

Excellent private tour,we saw much more than we’d have done if we’d booked a tour with the cruise ship. We were met by the lovely Giovanni Smaldone at the agreed meeting point. He was so kind and looked after us so we’ll,offering to stop if we needed a coffee, bathroom etc.lunch was at a lovely local restaurant ,where we had the best pizza we have ever had.We really enjoyed the trip and will definitely return to the area to see more.highly recommend this company and will use again when we return.

Our tour to Positano and Sorrento was beautiful and perfect timing!! Francesco was very mindful of the time and traffic in order to make the most of our experience. Afterwards he took us to new Pompeo and recommended a delicious place to eat authentic napolitano pizza!!😋 Our last stop was the ruins to Pompeo, so interesting to see. Francesco was a fantastic tour guide, gave us information on places as he drove by. Super friendly, made us feel very welcomed in Italy, 10 out of 10!!!🤩🤩 I highly recommend him and this tour.

We were to meet at the port at 8am for an 830 departure. There was a horrific storm when we went to the apparent meeting spot (bad enough that many ship excursions cancelled) and we couldn’t find our tour. There were clumps of people in the small bits of shelter, and I can only imagine that’s where our guide was. After getting completely soaked and terrified in the very dangerous lightning, we returned to shelter to message the operator. We didn’t hear anything. Fearing for our safety and ultimately also our comfort, we sadly returned to the ship as we could not find the operator. We did get messaged by them that they were waiting for us, and this is where it got a little weird. We chose at that point to not go, as our shoes and clothes were completely soaked through, and the idea of exploring ancient ruins in a horrible storm seemed both miserable and unsafe. We were honestly surprised they didn’t cancel. They ended up calling me TWELVE times (all calls I couldn’t answer on a cruise ship without astronomical fees) and the emails from the tour office were downright rude and assaulting. She accused me of lying when I said I couldn’t find the guide, and then sent me a photo at 9am of the guide standing in a completely rain free area with a sign with just my name on it, claiming that he had been there the whole time - mind you from 730-845 it was torrential downpour. I told them at 815 we would not be going, and they held the tour for the other guests as well. Not only did they waste 250$ of my money, they took an hour of time from the other patrons even when we said we were not going and harassed me with many emails, as I was already emotional in my cabin about missing the day. 1 star for effort I guess. I would not book this company again.

Spectacular experience! Francesco met us at the cruise terminal right on time...he even sent me a WhatsApp message with his picture and sign with my name so I would recognize him at the pickup point. Because he is a native of the area, he knew how to get us from one point to another and minimized time sitting in traffic with an itenirary that hit the areas with most traffic first...sure enough, on our way back we saw a long line of cars opposite to us while we cruised along. We stopped in Sorrento, Positano, and Pompeii. Along the way, we stopped for some photos and breaked for an hour for lunch...he made an excellent recommendation for a restaurant with amazing pasta and pizza. Thru the entire trip, Francesco was extremely polite and professional...he gave us so much background and information along the way of the local sites....you can tell that he is a native of the area and is passionate about the area. In total, we spent a little over 8 hours but he could have adjusted to accommodate cruise times, if needed. This was our fifth and last port ...and this was easily the best excursion experience. Highly recommend!
