Carlos, the guide, was very informed and pleasant person. A lot of historical facts and philosophical thoughts.

The best of dowtown in Naples
The meeting point is the tourist information office in front of the Entrance of Church of Gesù Nuovo. In “Piazza del Gesù” there’s a plaque put up by the Unesco to mark the fact that the historical center of Naples is included in the World Heritage sites list and is considered as one of the most ancient and richest historical centers in Europe.
Visit the Church of the monastery of Saint Chiara dating back the 14th century. It was made in Gothic style but during the 18th century decorated in a Baroque style that gives the church its look of opulence and splendor
Visit one of the most beautiful Church in Naples dated to XVI century
In the center of the city there is a famous old street called “Spaccanapoli”, a long and narrow street that divides the old Naples in two perfect halfs. It consists of many shops, restaurants and typical alleys.
Visit the famous Santa Chiara Cloister with the celebrated majolica artwork. On Sunday afternoon, the cloister is closed, so you can book the option including only the entrance to Sansevero Chapel
Have a look to Piazza St. Gaetano, the oldest square of the city. “Agorà” was situated here in Greek times. In Roman times this place was taken by a forum. Around it are located two magnificent monumental churches of Naples: San Lorenzo and San Paolo Maggiore.
Further down the "Spaccanapoli" street we will see San Domenico Maggiore square, with its Church, where a perfect overlapping of different architectural styles will certainly amaze you.
During the tour customers will be impressed by the absolute pearl of Naples, famous Chapel San Severo featuring the statue “Cristo Velato” by Giuseppe Sanmartino. This marble statue is a masterpiece of the 18th century representing dead Christ covered by a veil. Legend has it that an alchemist taught the sculptor how to convert real veil into a marble veil.
It was the main decumanus or Decumanus Maggiore of the ancient Greek and then Roman city of Neapolis.
Walking in Spaccanapoli you will see the famous Statue of the God of Nile river is an Ancient Roman, likely Hellenistic, marble statue dating from the 2nd to 3rd century A.C. Have a small break enjoing a typical neapolitan coffee in one of the famous bar of the old city centre.
Proceed along the little side street called “San Gregorio Armeno”. It is today one of the most famous streets of the city, visited by people from every part of the world for its unique nativity scene workshops.
The baroque cathedral of Saint Gennaro dating back to the 13th century is at the heart of the Neapolitan faith. Here the blood of the saint patron St. Gennaro is preserved. It becomes liquid during the so-called “Miracle of St. Gennaro”. This explains why all citizens show deep devotion towards this church.

Book in advance but it’s beautiful and worth a visit while in Naples
So amazing, these guys knew a thing or too. The sculptures are so incredible, although photos are not allowed. A must see.
This was a wonderful tour, very well paced with enough time to see everything - and, the guide was exceptional! She was able to provide so much history, knowledge, interesting stories, etc. in a very engaging way. What I most appreciated is that she made a point of speaking to and asking thoughtful questions of each member of the group. The questions were great - they were more about what we thought or would like to know more about - and, it also made us bond more as a group. She also didn't rush the group if we collectively wanted to stay a bit longer at a particular stop. Excellent experience and would not hesitate to book again!
Nice overview of some of Naples best sites. The veiled Christ was amazing to see in person! It anas so much more impressive in person than any picture could possibly show. Our guide Nikki was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.
THE TOUR IS IN ITALIAN!!! Be very careful about which language you pick because if you get it wrong, they won’t give you your money back or let you switch to one in English.
Nice stay with edoardo Cristo velato stonishing Santa chiara closter beautiful. Strange experience in spaccanapoli
A wonderfully insightful and fascinating tour of the amazing history, depth and layered culture of Naples & the ancient city center. Our tourguide, Maria, was truly delightful. Her knowledge and enthusiasm in sharing her love of Naples with visitors is contagious. She truly brought forth the unique and special charms Naples for us to enjoy amd admire. Thank you Maria!!
Out tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, pleasant, with very understandable English. The audio system was fine.
This tour was misrepresented as it did not include the cloister of Santa Chiara and instead included a city tour, a tour we had already taken two days before with Viator. It was a waste of money.
Great experience with ASKOS tour with Carlos as our guide. He is very passionate about what he does and all in our party was hanging onto every word he was saying. They were all fascinated by every thing he highlighted and said. I would definitely do this tour again. If it is available be sure to book it immediately.
Our guide was amazing! Great tour, so thankful we got to see the veiled Christ. It was just incredible!! We got to tour the shop area including nativity street, which was really interesting! Highly recommend this tour!
Several hours long & lots of walking. Tour guide Nicolette was excellent. A great deal of interesting information and places to see.
Our guide, Nicoletta, was personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and added greatly to our tour. She gave us tidbits about Neopolitan superstitions, personality traits, and commented on statues or streets that we passed or walked on. She moved effortlessly between Italian and English. Just delightful!
Excellent tour with Gennaro! He was informative and was able to answer every question. Highly recommend this tour as a great way to see the city and the Veiled Christ.
Our guide was amazing. She tried so gard to make the tour memorable. I learnt so much. Thank you very much
Went on this tour just to see the Veiled Christ. Never have seen anything like it. Nothing more to say. Our tour was in Italian because English was all sold out. Didn’t matter
We had the pleasure of being guided by Sara Incaruato through the lively heart of Naples as a group of thirty — no small feat! Our tour included the Cloister, Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo, and Chiesa di San Severo. Sara was exceptionally organised and handled the large group with ease, even as we navigated the crowds and traffic of the city centre. She stayed focused, informative, and eloquent throughout, never losing track of the narrative despite the many distractions around us. Her calm, pleasant disposition and deep knowledge of the sites made the experience both smooth and enriching. It was a well-led and enjoyable tour, and we’re grateful to have had her as our guide.
We had an excellent tour with Nicoletta who was very knowledgeable and made our tour so interesting. We really admired her passion for the subjects and insights into Neapolitan culture and history. Thoroughly recommend.
Our guide, Silvia, was a very knowledgable and entertaining guide who was passionate about her city. We enjoyed our experience, especially the last eye opening stop.
The guide has been a great guide. She gave us many information and told us many stories. Excellent experience!
This is eye opening tour takes you to the most important spots of Christian worship milestones in the eternal city led by Roberto who was packed with astonishing knowledge, swift locations hoping and engaging conversation. Looking forward to do another tour with him .
The “Naples: Veiled Christ & Santa Chiara Cloister Small Group Tour” was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our guide was simply wonderful—extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history and art we encountered. Their engaging storytelling and great sense of humor added a delightful touch, making the tour not only informative but also incredibly enjoyable. The Veiled Christ is a true masterpiece, and having such a skilled guide to explain its intricate details and history made it all the more impressive. The Santa Chiara Cloister was also captivating, with its serene beauty and fascinating background brought to life through our guide’s expertise. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Naples. It’s a perfect blend of art, history, and culture, presented in an enjoyable and engaging way. Five stars!
I felt the Tour was maybe a bit to long.. Our guide was very knowledgeable but a little hard to understand. The Veil of Christ was the highlight
I booked it because I didn't book the ticket of Sansevero. But surprisingly the trip was amazing to hear all the stories and knowledges from the tour guide. It is totally worthy to join this 2.5 hours trip to learn the city.
Tour leader Daniele was great giving all sorts of information that helped us understand sites and people of Florence better. Seeing chapel with veiled Christ was made much better by hearing insights from Daniele. We did not visit the cloister.
If you see one museum in Naples you need to see this sculpture. Located in charming area with some very good food right around the corner and intriguing shopping all around this can be a wonderfully short adjunct to a down town visit !
My guide Francesca was personal, passionate about history and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour. I would not be able to see what the guide showed me on my own. Thumbs up!
When taking a historical walking tour of any city, the tour guide is the key to success. Today, we got lucky. Nicoletta was knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining. Her folk stories blended well with the history of Napoli and the places we were visiting. She knew every detail of the historical timeline and relevance to the tour. I highly recommend the tour operator.
Our guide was Carlo Zarone. He met us and we introduced each other. Great group. All Italians excepts for me who came from Scotland. I got a clap from everyone. Carlo was super thorough. His knowledge was amazing and stopped to explain Evtimiy great detail. We saw everything advertised except for the cloisters of Santa Chiara which are closed during August. Carlo was friendly, funny and inclusive. A great guide and tour.
This tour was Italian speaking we new this when we booked but we were keen to visit the veiled Christ and other parts of Naples that we wouldn't know about
Tour guide was friendly, and very knowledgeable about history, local customs, and she gave suggestions for the best dining experiences if were planning to explore later on our own time.
Incredibile experience, great knowledgeable tour person it was an easy pace and precise moments to explain personal questions
The guided tour was headed by an architect and archeologist named Francesco Longobardi, and he made the tour so interesting and intense, giving us a very deep inside in Naples history and culture.
This tour was above and beyond. I've been so blessed with the guides we have had while in and around Naples. My dear friend said it was in the name "Francesco" ! He captured every moment and even when there were the unexpected, he handled it well. Yes we lined up and yes one of the places was closed, but he was able to give so much on what we saw that it outweighed any of the hiccups that happened. The tour was in Italian, and yes it was great! Thank you so much. I'd definitely recommend it.
We had wanted to see the Veiled Christ but had been unable to book tickets in advance, so when we arrived in Naples the evening before, we tried to book a city tour that included the Sansevero Chapel. Askos Tours had one on offer, in English so we booked it. Shortly afterward we were contacted and told that only the Italian tour was available on the date we were in port, and asked if we wanted another date. That wouldn't work, so they refunded our money. The next day we tried to get tickets at the chapel, but the only ones available were too late in the day given our all aboard time. This is where Askos Tours exceeded our expectations. We had already cancelled, they had no obligation to help in any way, but we got a phone call while we were sitting at the chapel and asked if we wanted tickets to the Veiled Christ - we could have two at 12:30. This was perfect and we jumped at it. What I wanted to make clear is that Askos Tours went above and beyond to make this happen for us - out of the blue they arranged for us to get tickets! I can't say enough good about their effort on our behalf. Excellent!
The guide Ivan was wonderful. I had done the tour but he told us so much more. So glad we got him. Please tell Askos the tour company you used how great he was. And of course the Veiled Christ is not to be missed.
Excellent organization and a special mention to the tourist guide Carlo Z., competent, timely and very nice.
Our guide was nice, but we have waited during 1h30 in line to go into the church of veiled christ (could have been planned earlier in the day?) and when we arrived to Duomo catherdral, it was closed for half hour, too late to visit in the tour schedule (coudl have been anticipated?). Fortunately, we had time during our staying to visit the monuments which were planned.
Our guide was Jasmine and we wentmon the 16:30 tour. I was traveling with 2 little children aged 2 and 3 3/4 years. Jasmine was very knowledgeable, charming, and accommodating. What we enjoyed the most is that Jasmine was able to cater to our needs, which was not easy with 2 small children. Also we were able to add stops to our tour, searching for interesting street art by Banksy and Blub.
Very interesting tour of some unusual sights. I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended. Great combination of street sights and churches.
I organized a walking tour of Naples as it was the first time Ivisited the city. We met our tour guide Jasmine at the established time in the lovely piazza of Chiesa del Gesu. right away, Jasmine made us feel at home. We immiediately felt in good hands. She started the tour with the beautiful church of chiesa del Gesu'. From there she took us to see many beautiful parts of the city and at the same time giving us more interesting information about the city . We highly recommend Jasmine!
The veiled christ is even better in real life compared to photos. It will take your breath away. How it was ever made is unbelievable.
Yesterday I participated in a tour organized by Askos Tours and I would like to give my warmest compliments to our guide, Grazia d'Agostino. She was exceptional: incredibly knowledgeable, clear in her explanations, and capable of conveying history with great passion. In addition to her unquestionable professionalism, she won us over with her friendliness and availability, making the experience light, interesting, and memorable. I highly recommend Askos Tours and, if you can, request Grazia as your guide! Very well-deserved five stars.
Wonderful place, the Veiled Christ leaves you speechless because of its beauty, but the other statues are also beautiful and absolutely worth seeing You can book on the website starting two months before the visit date
Visit to the church of San Severo with the Veiled Christ truly interesting thanks to Claudia from Askos Tours. Very prepared, kind and welcoming, she also told us many curiosities that made the visit very pleasant.
Absolutely a must-see, you can't miss it Chilling
Local guide Carlo is very knowledgeable; the experience at the Cloister of Santa Chiara and the Veiled Christ was unique, with so many details and curiosities that you cannot discover and see on your own; the tour in the historic center and the San Gregorio Armeno district was absolutely unique.
Very interesting experience with a guide, Francesco, of great cultural predisposition and very skilled at involving visitors in the discovery of the historic center. The Monastery of Santa Chiara and the Sansevero Chapel stand out for their rare beauty.
I want to thank Carlo, our guide, for the fantastic tour of the center of Naples. Really very knowledgeable, even in the small things, and very kind. He supported us throughout the visit with precise explanations and advice.
