What a great thing to do at the beginning of our 1 week stay in Naples. Not only did we learn to make (& eat) 3 types of pasta, a delicious Panzanella salad and a tasty Tiramisu, but we hugely enjoyed spending time with our lovely hosts Rosa and her friend and translator Dario. They were great company and shared a wealth of knowledge with us on great places to eat, pizzarias and restaurants and a snapshot of life in Naples. Rosa supplied a tomato sauce made by her mother in Avellino in Guardia dei Lombardi, flour made at the same windmill that her grandmother used, and we pick delicious fresh hers from her rooftop. We would thoroughly recommend spending a few hours with Rosa and co.

We had an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable evening! We had the pleasure of celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with a private dinner prepared by Rosa in her home, and it was truly an experience we will treasure for years to come. It was honestly the best dinner we had out of all of the restaurants in Rome and Naples. From the moment we arrived, Rosa made us feel so welcome. Her warmth, hospitality, and genuine passion for cooking made the entire evening feel intimate, personal, and incredibly special. The food was simply phenomenal! The eggplant Parmesan was delicious, and the different varieties of gnocchi, served with her homemade sauce, were absolutely divine. She was an excellent teacher - showing us how to bread the eggplant and made the different gnocchi while sharing family stories from her childhood. What made the evening so extraordinary was not just the amazing food, but the heart and soul Rosa put into the entire experience. Being welcomed into her home and sharing such a beautiful meal made the celebration feel even more meaningful. After preparation, she welcomed us to her outside Terrance (which is beautiful) with wine, meat, cheese and bread. **If you ever have the opportunity to experience Rosa’s cooking, do not hesitate!** She is a truly wonderful host and an incredible cook. We wholeheartedly recommend her and would love to experience another evening at her table. Thank you, Rosa, for helping make our 20th anniversary so special. A beautiful evening, exceptional food, and memories we will cherish forever. **An easy five stars!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our chef Anna was amazing. She was gracious and put on the full Italian experience from her charming personality, beautiful home and the opportunity to make three types of pasta from scratch. They were all delicious! Thank you Anna - you have been the highlight of the trip so far!
Fantastic experience, lovely host and great food Started with Antipasto, Made Gnocchi from scratch then Tiramisu yum yum yum Great wine and conversation Very happy to recommend 3 hours of happiness
Centrally located near the Metro line. Naples City proper. 1.2 km if you walk from Garibaldi station. The host’s apartment is on 6th floor, no lift. Three landings between each floor. Our host’s apartment was very inviting and Rosa greeted us warmly. She spoke only Italian. Her partner Sean was also present; He spoke perfect English and is a gentleman and a Scholar. Both are Culinary Masters, not just of the cuisine but presenters of the Historically and Culturally important origins of people, legends, and food from farm to table which all were truly unique, inspiring and remarkable! Beverages upon arrival with snacks. A tour of the panoramic Rooftop dining area and discussion was next. Our first presentation was ingredients and demonstration to make our own individual Tiramisu. This first so the Tiramisu can set in the fridge until after dinner. Hard to resist! Several vintage wines were offered & described. Next all of the ingredients to prepare from scratch our homemade pasta was introduced; Gnocchi of several shapes and sizes made with our own hands. Set aside for later. A truly rewarding experience! Next a delicious fresh Roma tomato salad mixed with mozzarella, a special dried bread, and Calabria onions was prepared by our party and set aside for antipasto; No greens. Rosa and Sean presented her family history on harvest of 150 kg of tomatoes and the family tradition of cooking and bottling; A sample was shared! We adjoined to the Rooftop Dining Area. My wife and I found this amazing and romantic. Next a plate of delicious Homemade Spaghetti pizza, a meat tray of Soppressata di Gioi and Salami; with slices of Rustic Bread. Another wine was introduced. After this antipasto our Gnocchi with Suga was served. Al Dente’ ! Fresh Basil atop this delicious sauce really was extraordinary! More wine, soft drinks, espresso and our Tiramisu!
We had a wonderful experience. Our hosts were kind and generous with their time and made sure to make our group feel comfortable. We had a nice dinner on their terrace and the ambiance was fantastic. I would definitely recommend!
Tremendous fun for two non-cooks. Going to someone's house/apartment really shows you people naturally.
We had an absolutely amazing time with Anna during our cooking class in Naples! She explained everything so well and used the freshest ingredients. We made authentic dishes from scratch and learned so much about traditional Neapolitan cooking. Her home was beautiful, with a gorgeous view overlooking the city that made the experience even more special. Highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Naples and wanting a true local experience!
The food and hospitality were amazing. Rosa’s kitties (Springbok and Pirate) were a delight. Only caveat-the experience is up 5-6 flights of stairs with no lift, so beware if you are mobility limited. Highly recommended!
What great fun with Emanuela! The class was perfect learning different techniques with pasta and sauces. Delicious as well! My first time with Viatar and great communication with host. We loved our taste of Sicly! Thank you ❤️
Wow! What a wonderful experience! Manuela was the best hostess. The food we made was delicious. She catered to our dietary needs. Would definitely do this again. Highly recommend
My friends and I had so much fun cooking with Giovanni. We made parmigiana di melanzane, gnocchi, and tiramisu, and we enjoyed our meal with excellent wine. The food was amazing and we felt so welcome in his home. It was a lovely and delicious way to spend a Saturday!
The host was very welcoming and gracious. Conversation was easy and the experience was wonderful. The tasting was delicious and the beautiful view complimented all of the dishes. Would highly recommend.
The host and his son were so kind and personable. We learned how to make so many delicious things at their beautiful home. The experience was 10 out of 10. And would highly recommend it for anyone.
This is a great experience! Emanuela and Maurizio are fantastic hosts in a beautiful home! I learned so much! Emanuela is very free with her knowledge and shared the history of dishes we made and offered advice on how to go beyond just what we made and how to amend the basic recipes to make even more wonderful meals! They have been doing this for 16 years, so they definitely know how to make things work! Emanuela is also very willing to adjust the menu to your desires, and coordinates ahead of time to make sure you are getting what you want. I definitely recommend this class to anyone that wants to learn some good, local cooking techniques and recipes!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We had so much fun with Paola and Giada! Not only were they welcoming and amazing cooks, the view from their home was spectacular and they were perfect hostesses! Truly one of the best memories from our vacation in Italy!
Elisa was an amazing host! When planning out our vacation to Napoli, we wanted a cooking experience that was authentic to the culture and wanted to bring home knowledge for our families. Elisa was so sweet and made us feel at home. The ravioli was truly the best we have ever had. The tiramisu was refreshing, sweet, and delicious. Can not wait to make this back home for my family to enjoy. Thank you Elisa for your hospitality and kindness!
I had the best time learning Napoli cuisine with Elisa. Getting there is a breeze by train, taxi or bus. When you arrive since I saw others have a problem finding it, I reached out directly to booking and with What’s App, Elisa promptly contacted me. She assisted with how to arrive and once arrival how to meet her as the address is to get you in the area. Everything was divine, very informative, thorough instructions how to make each dish. 3 courses, glass of wine and coffee to end it with. I learned a lot from not only the dishes but from the different areas of Italy. I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn new cuisine to book with Elisa. Thank you for great conversation and teaching me how to cook.

She assisted with how to arrive and once arrival how to meet her as the address is to get you in the area. Once you arrive you’ll see Casa Lago, from there you walk on the right of that building where you’ll see 330; you turn right where the tire shop is through gate and she is the yellow building. You ring for to come up and she’ll direct you further. Everything was divine, very informative, thorough instructions how to make each dish. 3 courses, glass of wine and coffee to end it with. We highly recommend this experience! Emanuela taught us 4-5 quick, easy recipes that were DELICIOUS. She was amazing!
Anna our host was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was definitely hands on with her coaching us throughout the preparation.
Emanuela and Maurizio are a very special couple. They invite you into their home with open arms and embrace you like you are family. My daughter, Kennedy, and I made three delicious courses, ( fried melanzana with mortadella and provolone, homemade ravioli stuffed with bolognese and tiramisu) that I will try to duplicate at home! We enjoyed this experience so much we would love to repeat it next time we are in Naples! Special thanks to Maurizio for our after dinner tour of Naples! Grazie e amore per entram bi! 😘Valerie
This was absolutely the peek of our stay i. Napoli. Eleonora and Simone welcomed us into their home and made sure we had the best time. It was fun, relaxed and the food was delicious.
Was not able to find location given by a Viator partner Cesarine. Was not contacted by host in WhatsApp per her request to clarify how to find residence once in neighborhood. The whole arrangement was a disaster! I am extremely disappointed!
Had a wonderful evening with Anna 👏🏼 She was close by and she and I cooked up a storm per her guidance …..fresh tagliatelle pomodoro, fried stuffed breads and semifreddo for dessert She also had a nice bottle of wine and maybe the best bread in Italy 👌🏼 Great evening out with a local !
Our hosts, Laura and Claudio, were the most wonderful couple that welcomed us into their home and taught us how to cook the most amazing Italian food. It was such a special day and I highly recommend this experience to everyone.
We had a lovely evening cooking and eating with Emanuela and her husband. The view of Naples was a beautiful backdrop for the Mozzarella en carrozza, Ravioli al Formaggio with fresh tomato sauce, pasta with butter and sage and limoncello tiramisu. For years I have wanted to go into a real Italian kitchen to learn to cook local dishes-mission accomplished!! Thank you Emanuela!
I enjoyed the day. Valeria made lasagne and we had homemade eggplant appetizer. The food was good. Some of the desserts were store bought but she did have an apple crisp which was homemade. Valeria even walked with us to show us the way back.
What a lovely lady and family! Her daughter made a great translator for my English accent and we made fabulous pizza and things and the best tiramisu. When we got home, the kids certainly got to enjoy my skills!
Our title of this review says it all. Emanuela welcomed us into her home as though we were family. She shared her deep knowledge and skill of traditional Napoli cuisine in a way easily replicated at home. And, we have made a new friend. Can’t wait to share what we learned from Cesarina Emanuela with our family and friends.
We spend a wonderful evening with Germana and taste the most of Neapolitan food. It was great , tasty and nice experience. No doubt we will recommend La Ceracine in general and Germana in particular.
Really a cozy evening - the host was perfect and there was nothing missing. We were served with delicious tapas and wine - and made 3 delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. Really a good experience
Fantastic cozy with the sweetest host in the cozyest homely setting. Delicious dishes with both fish, pasta & sweet. Delicious wine and real company where we got good talk about Napolis history & culture. We would love to do it again!!!!
Organizer changed 3 times and sent lots of confusing emails When we got sick, it was not possible to postpone the booking Inflexible and unprofessional
Among the many things done in our three days in Naples, this was undoubtedly the most beautiful. Emanuela welcomed us into her home with great hospitality and, before starting the cooking class, told us the story of Naples from her balcony with a truly breathtaking view. We cooked, dined and chatted together with her and her husband, two special people. If you really want to immerse yourself in everyday Neapolitan life, this experience is absolutely not to be missed!
He kindly taught me about Neapolitan local cuisine and taught me politely while using poketalk even if I was not good at Italian!
Our hostess was Elize. How we enjoyed her cooking. A very nice evening with delicious dishes. Cooked together and eaten together in a relaxed setting. Recipes noted so we can make it at home too. Highly recommended which gives your visit to Naples so much more meaning.
Da Napoletano posso solo dire che è una vera immersione nella Napoletaneità!Non riesco a descrivere qualche momento in particolare! Ho imparato che là semplicità è la chiave di tutto!Spelndidi!
We had an exceptional course with Anna, generous and passionate cook and full of love to cook and show the secrets of Neapolitan foods
