Valentino was amazing. He took us on a great and we saw places we would have never found on our own. Highly recommended.

The lower decumanus, which takes the official names of via Benedetto Croce and via Forcella in the central area, but is commonly called Spaccanapoli, is a road artery in the ancient center of Naples and is one of the most important streets in the city.
Via San Gregorio Armeno is a street in the historic center of Naples, famous for tourism for the artisan shops of nativity scenes. Today via San Gregorio Armeno is known all over the world as the exhibition center of the craft shops located here that now all year round make figurines for nativity scenes, both canonical and original (usually every year the most eccentric artisans make figurines with the features of characters of stringent topicality that perhaps stood out positively or negatively during the year).
The basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore is a monumental basilica in Naples, one of the oldest in the city, located in the historic centre, near Piazza San Gaetano. The religious complex houses the setting up of the Museo dell'Opera di San Lorenzo Maggiore, which also includes access to the homonymous archaeological excavations. Index
Today the decumanus major is one of the most important streets in the historic center of Naples (declared a world heritage site in 1995) and corresponds to today's via dei Tribunali still entirely following the ancient Greek road axis. Precisely because it is a road structure originating from ancient Greece, it would be more appropriate to speak of plateia and not of "decumanus", a name from the Roman era which by convention replaced the original.
It is the bell tower of the Pietrasanta church in Naples1, to which it belongs as the only remnant of the primitive version, from which it remains isolated with a facade open to via Tribunali and yet another on via del Giudice.

An amazing experience Bones of Naples following the Plague (Black Death) and the Cholera Epidemic all on display.
Well, unfortunately TripAdvisor doesn't offer a 6 star rating otherwise i would have given it to this amazing organization. Tour was beyond interesting and i have to say our guide Giulia did an excellent job in explaining all the aspects (from historical to artistic and social) of this hidden gem in Napoli. Giulia has also been very kind and sweet in guiding a big group of people where everybody literally absorbed all the words she was saying without ever losing attention. So a great service that is more than recommended!
We asked for a tour of the places of Pino Daniele, expectations were exceeded, the guide was very good (a girl whose name we unfortunately don't remember... Ida?)
Reopening in April 2026, go ahead. Take tickets via the association s website to support local youth
We were looking for something different, fun and engaging to do for the bachelorette party for our friend and our wishes with Insolitaguida definitely came true! Lucia, our guide was very good and engaging, he offered us a unique and unforgettable experience. Among riddles, superstitious rites and tests to pass we got lost in the streets of the historic center, we interacted with people I place them, danced and sang with passers-by and we could enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of Naples. Experience more than recommended!
We just got back from our friend Lisa's bachelorette party! Two fantastic days in Naples. We participated in the treasure hunt together with Lucia... what about... Lucia was just extraordinary .. she made us have fun like crazy! He never stopped smiling and revealed many curiosities about the city of Naples and , its beautiful and fascinating historic center. She accompanied us for almost two hours being very attentive to our needs and, since we were in 14 it must not have been easy, so good Lucia ❣️ He gave us gadgets and for each stop a taste of Neapolitan specialties ... what about THANK YOU Lucia ... you were fantastic 😍❤️ PS: For the next bachelorette party we want you with us💋
We were looking for a guide to show us the real Naples, walking in the middle and falling into the reality of the city. And we found just that! Luca our guide was very good and accompanied us for 4 hours without making us bored. You are so lucky!!!
For years now we have known this organization of guides that involves as few know how to do in the magic of Naples and its surroundings rich in history and traditions. Guides who know not only how to accompany with passion and care to discover the treasures, but who have the ability to organize all the details to give a truly unique experience. Thank you for your constant commitment and the wonderful work you do in transmitting love for your places. A special appreciation for Dr. Luigia splendid and irreplaceable soul of the group!
Tour of the center of Naples really wonderful thanks to the explanations, knowledge and sympathy of our guide Luigia. He showed us real pearls making us taste the true Neapolitan atmosphere in all its facets. 3 hours together really very pleasant, an unforgettable experience. Carlo
I brought, for the fourth time with Insolita guida, a group of friends (20 in total) and they were all super satisfied with our guide, Valentina, who guided us in the historic center for a handful of hours telling with great passion history and anecdotes related to her città.Complimenti, always impeccable.
I proposed a guided tour for a group of 44 people for a business event, organized in detail by Luigia Salino, and managed with great professionalism by the guide Rossella, also for the changes of schedule necessary for logistical issues. In particular I want to report the words of the participants who expressed all their gratitude for Rossella "they say it's a well of knowledge" " They had a great time and even those who said they knew Naples confessed that seeing her with her was a different matter and that they really understood what they saw before only" " Who passed on to them the love and passion he has for his city and his work" I who always turn to Insolita Guida was sure that the visit would be a success. I always recommend it to everyone
We had the pleasure of being accompanied by Luigia, a very competent, empathetic and particularly witty guide. He made the explanations captivating by enriching them with expressions, anecdotes typical of Neapolitan tradition and culture.
I have long known Insolitaguida, an organization carried out with great passion and professionalism by a group of women of rare culture not only academic. With Simona we visited as well as the unmissable places of the historic center (Chapel of San Severo, Church and Cloister of Santa Chiara), we discovered, almost close to the Central Station, the church of Santa Caterina a Formiello, a true Renaissance jewel. One of the reasons to rely on her is just this: you will never have the perception of a postcard Naples of itself. Simona will lead you by the hand, with a cultured and ironic touch, into the true essence of this city of a thousand faces. Sacred and profane, popular and very noble, esoteric and Enlightened, Naples must be observed through the eyes (and guidance) of those who really know it deeply. A visit to Palazzo Serra di Cassano is a must, and then immerse yourself in the belly of Santa Lucia where , despite the passing of the centuries, the perception remains intact that Partenope still lives among that people who have never fully opened up to modernity: the Luciani. I can't wait to get back.
We visited Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, its Church, the Church of Santa Chiara, Spaccanapoli, San Domenico Maggiore and via San Gregorio Armeno. The visit also included the Sansevero Chapel. It was a beautiful hour and a half, full of stories and anecdotes. Very good Guide Valentina. Competent and prepared.
We had a wonderful experience participating in the tour "It's not true but I believe" on superstitions related to the history of Naples. Thank you on behalf of myself and all the other participants. I already knew the immense competence, empathy and extraordinary ability to enthuse and involve guides (I have already participated in other visits with you in the past). Lina, our Guide, was amazing and confirmed the high quality of the professionals of "Insolita Guide", exciting and involving my friends to whom I had proposed this tour. You made us live truly "magical" moments in a beautiful and welcoming city that has a mysterious and esoteric charm.
I have done several tours of Naples, fully experiencing the culture, flavours, colours, respect for traditions and the great beauty of this unique city like the Neapolitans. Our guide Simona, of great culture and preparation, not only helped us unusually explained everything that is most interesting about Naples but made us experience the city by having fun without ever being obvious or boring, an expert and very professional guide. A point of reference for me in the future... unusual congratulations for an unusual guide 😊
Luigia, our unusual guide, was very competent and friendly. He provided a lot of news and curiosities immersing us in the beating heart of Naples. Colours, scents, traditions, superstitions and so on and so forth, the Neapolitan city has a charm all its own. I recommend this guided tour.
Interesting, pleasant, curious, fun walk with Luigia, an Unusual prepared and friendly guide! The coffee and Sfogliatella tasted during the walk were also excellent! Insolitaguida guide a guarantee!
Unusual and extraordinary walks around Spaccanapoli and the Spanish quarters. The perfect key to enter the heart of Naples and let you enter Naples beautiful heart
Naples from a real Neapolitan. Simona managed to convey the heart of the historic center in two hours. Great knowledge of history with the typical sympathy of the people of the city. Nice experience. Congratulations indeed
Giulia accompanied us to the Rione sana illustrating with competence and transport the history of the Rione out of prejudice. The Fontanelle cemetery is truly amazing. I recommend to see him accompanied to enjoy the history of the Cemetery to the fullest. Valeria
The Sanità district offers a truly characteristic view of Naples: among the market stalls suddenly appear courtyards of wonderful palaces and churches. The added value is the cemetery of the fountains, a place full of emotion. Our guide Sara helped to fill the whole thing with meaning, with her precise, competent explanations and with the right dose of folklore and anecdotes, which makes the tour very enjoyable, especially if there are guys, as in our case. I also stress punctuality.
What can I say, with Giulia today we could listen to a competent, engaging, passionate, talented person. Congratulations!
Absolutely not to be missed. Unknown corners, working class neighborhoods with colors, flavors, voices and real life. Delia, knowledgeable and helpful guide, describes the places with great passion
Rione health cemetery of the fountains and Spanish quarters seen through the eyes and words of the delightful Giulia "unusual" also because 'in addition to professionalism has put his heart without ever falling into the banal.
We did this tour me and my partner and we were amazed for the fantastic rione healthcare really special a big thanks to our guide Giulia really prepared and helpful we subscribed and became members of the association .. I said everything to soon
Wonderful guided tour, out of the usual city tours. Our guide Giulia, well-prepared and undoubtedly great passionate about the city, was incredibly engaging and at times moving. A very highly recommended tour, at a very low price (and they even offered us coffee and a bottle of water!). Good job, man!
The tour was a very data subject thanks to the knowledge and sympathy of the guide and the beauty and peculiarity of the places visited. You will visit two of the most famous palaces in the Sanità district and Naples and arrive at the Fontanelle Cemetery. The guide, Giulia, explained the history of the Neighborhood with passion, making us delve into a historic neighborhood of Naples. We highly recommend the tour to visit an unusual and popular Naples, rich in history and myth.
With friends from Trentino we took advantage of this tour at derisory prices (but participating in the public one). Our guide, Giulia, was exhaustive, engaging, understandable to everyone even sometimes using dialect terms to better make the spirit of a beautiful neighborhood and city, enriching the tour with anecdotes and curiosities, ranging from esotericism, mystery, folklore, music, current events. A tour that is worth much more than what we paid for and that I would recommend to everyone.
I would like to advise those who go to Naples for the first time, as happened to us, to visit these working class neighborhoods first of all and to do so with an “unusual guide” who will tell you about the Neapolitans and the contrasts of this incredible city: sacred and profane, life and death, poverty and wealth of soul, degradation and the desire to get back on the line, crime and initiatives to get children off the streets! Naples is a city of art but has another priceless heritage: its inhabitants!
I did this walk narrated in the Sanità district on August 11 with my family and I bring a very special memory. Two hours walk with our very nice guide Simona through the colorful markets, discovering ancient buildings of which he told us the origins, film set, visiting the particular Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità between history and anecdotes all Neapolitan that a DIY tourist would not have the opportunity to know. Exciting the Fontanelle cemetery, with historical hints and superstitions that are part of the city. Meaning of the capuzzelle and their role, illustration of the best known ones, with the icing on the cake, before saying goodbye that I do not want to anticipate. In short, almost thirty attentive and interested people, because there is no better visit than the one made together with those who love the city. We'll see each other again.
Every Sunday morning in August at 10:00 departure from Porta San Gennaro for a tour of over 2 hours to visit the health district, its beautiful buildings and the cemetery of the fountains. Beautiful also the church of the district (basilica s. Mary of Health) with her unique altar. Cost of the tour € 7 with a complimentary bottle of water halfway.... Giulia, the guide, very good and prepared. Absolutely to be redone, in the hope that sooner or later the funds will be found for the opening of the museum of Totò, designed in the palace of the Spagnuolo and to date not finished, because you can not make Totò die a second time!
An unusual guide, Simona, very nice and bubbly, guided us on a private tour of the Fontanelle cemetery. With very funny stories and anecdotes about capuzzelle, he showed us all the history and traditions of true Naples. And finally, he took us to visit a part of the Rione Sanità, accompanying us to the door of San Gennaro. Beautiful visit, not to be missed for the world! Thanks again Simona
In the most secret Naples (Rione Sanità and Cimitero delle Fontanelle), an "unusually" competent and passionate guide. Thank you, Livia Vera and Dorothee Au coeur de la Naples plus secrète (Health District and Fontanelle Cemetery), a guide exceptionnellement compétent et passionné. Merci, Livia Vera et Dorothee An exceptionally competent and passionate guide. Thank you, Livia Vera and Dorothee
It is the best way to visit this wonderful city.... highly qualified guys who spread the love and culture for this precious city. Don't lose
My sister and I did this tour under the guidance of Giulia, a very kind, engaging and prepared girl. Super recommended tour!
An interesting visit also for those who are Neapolitan but do not know mysteries, cultural traditions, stories of his city. A very good guide, prepared, witty and engaging! Congratulations and thank you!
We participated in this visit / walk that was articulated between the Sanità district and the Fontanelle Cemetery with the tour guide Lina who was very kind, comprehensive and nice! He accompanied us giving us historical, legendary, allegorical notions telling customs and traditions of folklore! Making them "revive"!!! Really recommended!!!
My husband and I stayed during the Easter holidays 2019. We met Delia very prepared and courteous guide in front of Porta S. Gennaro, we shared the experience with another couple thus sharing the expense. The tour of the Sanità district and the cemetery was told by Delia in a funny way, rich in historical, artistic, cinematographic, culinary and legends. Thanks to her we took a dip in an unusual, popular and untouristy Naples. We will definitely repeat maybe for other areas such as the Spanish quarters. Thank you. Roberta
A nice guided tour in the Sanità district with a couple of guides in the area, kind and competent, able to arouse interest even for details. A central part of the visit is the famous Fontanelle cemetery, a strong experience that however makes you understand mentality and folklore of a cross-section of a part of Naples. Extremely interesting. I recommend it
Guided by Simona to the health district and the cemetery of the fountains, we were bewitched by the beauty and oratory skills of our talented and friendly guide! Highly recommended!
Simona accompanied us around the Sanità district to the Fontanelle Cemetery. His great communication skills, irony and preparation made this tour extremely interesting and engaging. Bravo!
We took a very interesting and suggestive tour to the cemetery of the fountains and the health district visiting amazing palaces and churches, thanks to our guide Giulia. A very prepared, kind and stimulating girl! I recommend everyone to have this experience!!!
An unusual guide to Naples interesting and complete, our guide Delia delighted us with stories, anecdotes with great competence and a beautiful smile! I highly recommend it to both those in Naples and tourists. Diego & Faby
I discovered unusualguide by chance on the internet and decided to join the public tour Rione sana and Fontenelle Cemetery. Never has a choice been fairer. The Great Welcoming and Service offered really excellent. Very good guide, Giulia, who with obvious passion, transport and a lot of knowledge has managed to turn a "walk" into a fascinating journey through these areas of Naples passing from century to century, between cult stories and more profane legends all accompanied by some notes of current events. I recommend this tour to anyone going to Naples, are two wonderful hours, rich and exciting thanks to which you can learn notions, stories and legends that help to better understand the Neapolitan reality, its origins as well as providing interesting insights. Unusually good!!!!!!
On Saturday 12 January I visited the Rione Sanità and the Fontanelle cemetery. Our guide, Delia, is a young scholar in love with her city. I visited places and listened to stories and the time passed very fast. I will return to Naples for other places and other stories.... I recommend it!!!
We were 11 people, 4 Italians and 7 foreigners, we requested, upon phone call, a private tour. The booking was made in a very simple way, even requiring a guide who spoke in English, just a couple of phone calls and everything was organized! Very good our guide Lucia who introduced us to the Sanità district, including the cemetery of the fountains. All very interesting and pleasant thanks to the professionalism of our guide. Great Lucia, maybe we'll ask for you for the next round too! Thank you.
Two and a half hours walk through the streets and buildings of the Sanità district, rich in history and stories, to get to the Fontanelle cemetery, a unique experience. Rossella, our guide, made us appreciate the visit with her competence and sympathy, really very good. Tour not to be missed if you are in Naples for a few days.
a journey through the history and city of Naples, through crowded streets and legends, sometimes incredible, sometimes romantic.... our guide, Simona was exceptional, made us breathe the history and folklore of an extraordinary land... highly recommended!
