Itinerary
When your cruise ship docks at Naples, meet your driver at the port and hop into your air-conditioned minivan with the rest of your small group. Then, travel south to Sorrento, the cliff-top resort that’s a gateway to the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast, a 40-mile (64-km) stretch shore typified by steep cliffs and confetti-colored villages. On arrival, enjoy an hour of free time to explore picturesque Sorrento as you wish. Perhaps stroll the tangled lanes, enjoy the bars and shops in the central square, Piazza Tasso, or admire the 15th-century cathedral — it’s wholly up to you.
Rejoin your minibus and have your camera ready as you drive along the Amalfi Coast, following the cliff roads between lemon groves and the shimmering Mediterranean below. Arrive in the gorgeous cliffside town of Positano, whose houses cascade down cliffs to a pebbly beach, and enjoy an hour of free time to shop at the chic stores, unwind over coffee or perhaps visit the Church of St Maria Assunta, famous for its tiled dome.
Continue to the town of Amalfi and enjoy an hour to explore its sights at leisure. Perhaps peep inside its marble, 9th-century cathedral, browse the many shops hidden in the lanes or enjoy lunch (own expense) at one of the tempting restaurants.
Your last stop is Ravello, higher up the cliffs. With an hour of free time here, maybe look around the impressive cathedral or visit the 13th-century Villa Rufolo (own expense), whose cliff-hugging gardens serve up jaw-dropping coastal views. Afterward, drive back to Naples where your shore excursion ends back at the cruise port.

Not as advertised. Pick up person did not make sign with name as visible as possible. Person was to be in White shirt & wearing red hat. Shurt was purple & hat attached to her back pack. Driver was to speaking in English, but spoke mostly in Italian to 3 Italian passengers. Instruction on what & where to see things in villages was not understood because it was mainly Italian. The van used was extremely packed, 8 passangers plus driver, thus not a comfortable or enjoyable ride, especially on rough & curved roads.
Our driver did a great job but 4 stops with one hour each and so many cruise ships in port did not make for a great experience. I would recommend doing fewer stops or choosing a less crowded area in a high traffic time (August in our case).
Our driver/guide Rosario was outstanding. He was knowledgeable and drove very well on the dangerous roads that made up this trip. Each town was different in its own way. Highly recommend.
Its long but satisfying and bring photo and video equipment , you'll need it . Ricardo was informative and ready for the assignment .
We had to book this tour last minute.Due to the captain changing our port at the very last minute. Thank goodness they had an opening, and we chose this tour. It was a fantastic day. And our driver was not just a driver. He was a really fun. Nice kind and helpful guy with lots of knowledge. We had the best day traveling the coast of sorrento, pasatano and the amalfi coast!
The driver guide was very acomadading the tour was a great experience the views were breathtaking we had plenty of time to see the sights in each town
The driver was waiting for other passenger that was not on the cruise ship. It took them 23 minutes pass the ti He’s not communicating with the 5 cruise ship passengers that were on time and on his cell phone all the time . The driver was erratic as he left the parking lot ., stopped a block later and said get down and go to the other bust . We thought we booked a tour . There was no communication on where we’re going , passing by or the plan for the day. We’ll stop and say you have this much time is the only communication we’ll get . I have not had bad experience like this from Viator 😞
Our driver, Rosario, was great. It was a busy day with 4 stops and an early time to get back to our ship. We never felt rushed, each stop provided time to get our and explore. The van was conformable and Rosario is an expert driver for the narrow, winding roads.
This is not a guided tour, it is a driver that does not speak English and told us not one detail of any place we visited. Very disappointed for the price we paid!
The Amalfi Coast tour is one to do when in Naples. It will make you want to come back again and again
This was a good excursion, but we felt fairly rushed. It would have been better to visit two or three towns. Four was too many to cover in a day, epecially with the amount of tourists there.. This is not a reflection of the guide, just input for the tour coordinator. It was nice that there were only 16 people on the tour. Any more would’ve been too many.
We had a fantastic time at this trip. The driver speaks good English, explained a lot . He even makes a few stops at the coast for us to take some pictures. He picked and dropped us promptly at the cruise port. Will definitely recommend this tour for anyone for only have one short day at Naples.
Our guide did not soeak English Took maybe an hour before we left Naples after picking up everyone Stopped shortly after for testroom not sure why He picked where we ate late lunch early dinner
Great experience and tour guide was great!! He showed us so much and gave us a great insight to the area etc.
Horrible experience. Our driver barely spoke English and rushed us to 4 stops. We did not have any time to eat, let alone go to the bathroom. I want my money back. This was an awful excursion and will recommend to anyone I know to stay away from this terrible company.
What a great experience! Our driver Ricardo was awesome. He can drive in very small places while still ensuring we are informed about what we are seeing. Though we only got a glimpse of each place, it was enough to ensure we know where we want to spend more time the next time we go. Along with the scheduled stops, we stopped at a Lemoncillo factory and had lunch in Praiano under the lemon trees. This is a must do tour if you only have a day to explore these places. Ask for Ricardo to be your driver :)
We did not get to take this tour as the tour operator cancelled it saying we did not have enough time to complete it. We definitely had enough time as our ship didn’t leave port till after 6:30pm that night, but they wound not reinstate the tour. It was very disappointing because this was one of the most important tours that I booked on this cruise. It was much too late to try to find another tour since they didn’t inform us until the night before. Very disappointing
The scenery was amazing but the traffic was horrendous. The driver spoke very little English and we had a hard time communicating with him. Because of the amount of time in traffic, this was a very trying trip.
Punctual pick up and return. Driver safely brought us to all locations. We would have wished the driver would give some explanations during the trip but it was just the transport
Giovanni was outstanding. He had a great sense of humor and told us all about the wonderful spots along the Amalfi Coast. I highly recommend the tour, especially with Giovanni as your driver.
If you only have a short time to explore this area, this excursion is a great option. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable, pointing out highlights, stopping for photo opportunities, and taking us into the town centres of these great cities. Our small group of 8 had time to explore on our own, so everyone got to spend time doing things that interested them. A good choice for visitors that are able to walk distances without assistance.
our driver was very considerate of each of our group, gave information about trip and sights we were passing. He was very polite. Stopped for pictures. It was a great excursion. He was very conscientious about getting us back to our ship on time. I would highly reccomend this excursion.
We were on a 13 day cruise in the Adriatic sea with many excursions in 8 ports and this was definitely the highlight of our trip. Mauro was our driver. The vehicle was very clean and Mauro was on time every time he had to pick us up somewhere and shared a lot of interesting information as we travelled up the coast. We had lunch at a quaint restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean which was awesome. It is such a breathtakingly beautiful area of Italy that it's hard to mention something specifically. It was a long tour and the traffic was congested at times but not overly so. Overall we had a great time and Mauro was an excellent host/driver. Highly recommended!
We too the Amalfi Coast tour and where so excited as it was the most anticipated excursion of the entire 14 day cruise! We felt we where in a race the entire time! The driver seemed so rushed with us. I'd read and therefore expected the drive to be a bit rushed, but this driver was ridiculous. I don't scare easily, but I held on for dear life the entire last part of the trip. This trip should be definitely broken down into only two towns allowing for more time to explore. The driver was that and only that, my information, my conversation, nothing!! Just rush, rush, rush, hurry, hurry, hurry. It all went by in a blur, so sadly a very bad impression of my first tour with this company.
Viator delivered what it promised with this excursion. However this trip most certainly could have been better. The excursion lasted 10 hours. Much longer than we were expecting. This was not a relaxing trip. We joined the excursion from a cruise ship. We told the driver we needed to be back on board by 18:30; We made it back by 18:15! This margin of time was way too close for comfort!! The coastal road was full of hair-pin turns and other drivers that were very aggressive. While on the express way, we noticed the driver going 150-160 KPH (over 90 mph). We wasted over an hour of the trip at a restaurant for lunch. This was very annoying. My wife and I weren't asked if we wanted to stop. We most certainly would have wanted to spend more time in one of the beautiful cities we visited. I'm definately glad I was able to see Sorrento, Amalfi and Ravello. Those 3 cities were like heaven on earth. (Positano was great but way too crowded.) I would not recommend taking this excursion if you are on a cruise ship. Sorrento and Amalfi are amazing! I would recommend a single trip to Amalfi or Sorrento, preferrably via boat, so you may have more time visiting these beautiful places.
Did this tour yesterday and if I ever come back I would likely do it again. Our driver (Mauro I believe) was hilarious and he got to the locations quickly so we'd have more time to explore. Our coach only had five of us in it so we had plenty of space and the air conditioning was especially needed since it was an incredibly hot day. Sorrento and Positano were my favourite stops, and the restaurant we stopped to eat at was really good as well. We were even treated to a free shot of Limoncello by our driver! Definitely do this tour excursion if you have time while in Naples.
It was an amazing tour. Chiro the driver was great, very friendly and pleasant, having good knowledge of the touring area. We enjoyed Sorrento and Positano. We also had the chance to swim in the Amalfi beach. We also enjoyed a fredo iced coffee in Ravello.
Was sooo looking forward to this excursion, and while we did go to each city overall we were very disappointed. Driver barely spoke English. Never slowed down or stopped at points with amazing views even when there was no one behind us - instead he drove like a bat out of hell the whole way. Gave us very little time in each city - not even an hour - and instead took us to junk store in the middle of nowhere AND stopped for lunch, again in the middle of nowhere, for over an hour of wasted time. This stop was definitely not mentioned on the Agenda, food was very overpriced, plus we had already eaten at one of the stops. First time we have been disappointed by Viator, but unfortunately were big time. Do NOT recommend this tour.
Great driver interaction, reliable safe brand new Merc Van. Awesome views. A must do. Forget the rest Amalfi is best.
I had dozen of trips with viator and this was the worst. Firstly an excursion in English but the driver/guide does not have enough English ability. He was a terrible driver and at the end two members of my group got car sick. The tour was supposed to be an 8 hours one and we ended up close to cruise departure time. He took us to his recommended restaurant but did not tell us how much time we have there and ended with a rush. The entire group did not have objections to spending 10 minutes less in the afternoon stops so as to catch up the time but he insisted not.
The towns were greatThe guide was betterThe drive is unforgettableBuckle up and enjoy the experience

The driver we had for this tour was absolutely horrible. We had an hour stop at each location which was wonderful but while in the van traveling to each location the driver would continue to drive as fast as he could and slam on the breaks everyone in the van had a headache after experiencing whip lash symptoms. While driving along the Almafi Coast the driver continued to try to pass busses and cars constantly honking and trying to swerve around them. We had booked 6 different tours with Viator, the other 5 tours were positive experiences but unfortunately we will never book again after this experience. We all felt our lives were in danger and told the driver so and he said too bad, this is how it is.

I was very disappointed with this excursion. The stops/towns were gorgeous and the scenery along the coast was very beautiful. Its alot to see in 8 hours but we understood that before we booked. We arrived in Sorrento quite early so not much was open. The town of Positano was very busy (bumper to bumper cars and people) making it difficult to navigate thru this town. Amalfi and Ravello were our favorites. However the tour driver was extremely impatient and a terrible driver making my husband and I very nervous and frightened. The driver sped the entire day...on the highways and along the Amalfi coast. He tailgated all day long and was passing cars on the narrow windy road along the coast (which is crazy and extremely dangerous). I told him at one point to please slow down but I don't think he understood me. The driver was in a rush the entire day and yet we ended up back at the cruise ship at 4:30 (our cruise didn't leave until 6:30). The driver spoke very little English and this made simple communication very difficult. I booked this tour through Viatour. Its only a matter of time before this driver has a terrible car accident. I urge the owners of this tour company to please ensure your drivers understand their clients want a safe experience and that crazy driving isn't acceptable or fun. Unfortunately this affected our overall experience which is very disappointing.
We only got to the first stop didn't get to visit the other two locations as promised. Taken to a restaurant the tour guide suggested, sure he got a kick back. Tour was not worth the money we spent and didn't get to the locations as promised.
Our driver did not have a good command of the english language which made it difficult to get the most from the tour. the tour was a lot of driving on very congested roads and one stop had to be eliminated. We had to rush back to get to the ship before sailing. All-in-all if rated as a less than enjoyable tour.

This was a nice tour overall. Our driver picked us up from our cruise port. We were in a nice minivan with two other couples. We had two hiccups. When it was time to eat lunch he wanted to take us to one specific place, but we wanted more choices. One of the passengers thought that he had a relationship with that particular restaurant. When we voiced our concern he took us to a better place that had several choices of restaurants as well as many places to buy souvenirs. The driver gave us a specific time to meet us at the meeting point and he was about 10 or 15 minutes late. We didn't know if he was late because he was upset with us for not going to his preferred restaurant or if he ran into traffic there was a lot of traffic in the area. He didn't apologize for being late or give us an explanation. Overall I enjoyed the excursion and I would do it again if I am Italy again.

Covered four towns in one day and have to return to cruise ship by designated time: yes it was rushed still very enjoyable. Driver was excellent, 8 in a minivan - a drawback is that some (in this case those on the left and center in the back and central row) do not have a good view of the Amalfi coast (which is on the right side of the van). One hour of free time in Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, not enough time but's not the fault of the tour operator. It was not easy navigating the winding narrow roads of the Amalfi coast but we felt safe and comfortable all the time. Recommended if you want a taste of all four towns in the same day.
We decided to try this tour based on all the wonderful reviews and not being impressed by the cruise ship tours. All I can say is it was Wonderful. Our Driver, Marlo, was wonderful, knowledgeable and personable. He was promptly on time and waiting for us outside our ship. He took us to Amalfi, Sorrento, Positano and Ravello and made sure we knew where we were going and was promptly waiting for us at the agreed upon time. Please do be aware that this trip does involve a lot of traffic time but the time in traffic went by quickly because the sights were so beautiful.Marlo and his tour group continuously kept in contact to avoid traffic wherever possible so we could spend the most time in each place. His expertise in driving was amazing as the roads are very windy and narrow and have to be navigated professionally. He and his crew rimed everything perfectly to make sure we were back in time to catch the ship. I can't say enough wonderful things about Marlo and this tour. Please be sure you take this tour whenever you are in Naples.
Alberto was great as a tour guide and especially a driver along those narrow and winding roads. The highlight was the impromptu lunch just before arriving in Almafi. The food was fantastic. All the views were amazing. Highly recommend this tour.
We were docked in Naples from 7AM - 6PM, last boarding at 5:30PM. We were met by our driver right on time outside of the cruise terminal. The van was comfortable, and a total of 8 passengers (6 of us from the same cruise). We had a fantastic day with stops in Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. In between Positano and Amalfi our driver took us to a little restaurant for lunch (not included in price) and we had a delicious meal. He stopped at picturesque lookout points along the drive and gave us a few minutes to take photos. We fully enjoyed the day and were back at the cruise terminal by 5:15PM. This was a highlight of our trip and a great way to spend the last port day on our cruise. Highly recommend.

A good excursion. Quite long but necessary to take in all that the 4 destinations offers.

It took us an hour waiting in the van before we could even leave from the port. As a result it limited our stays at each town. The views along the ride were spectacular. The drive could be nauseating with all the curves. We stopped in Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. My favorite were Sorrento and Amalfi. I would have reduced the number of towns since we had limited time in each one and couldn't fully enjoy them. The driver was nice, but he basically dropped us off and told us a meeting point and time, which we knew this was the excursion. He did stop in at a viewpoint for a photo opportunity.
The tour was perfect from beginning to end. As soon as we exited the ship our driver was waiting for us, joined with another driver for our 2nd party. We wanted to remain together the entire trip and they were extremely accommodating. Although not a guide, our driver was very willing to talk to us, answer all our questions, and point out important landmarks. The tour covers four areas, all extremely beautiful. The Amalfi Coast is lined with a winding road showcasing breathtaking views. Highly recommend the tour and if you’re lucky, Antonio will be your driver. All other 5-star ratings are on point.
We booked this tour as n opportunity to see the Amalfi Coast and explore it in our own time and in our own way. We arrived into the train station with our bags and called to ask if they had room for the bags or if we should store them at the station. We were assured that they had room for two large rolling bags. When the minivan arrived, it was packed to capacity with people and structurally the only way for the bags to fit was to lay them ontop on each other in the aisle. I said it was a safety hazard and. asked for a refund. The manager was very rude and refused. We finally reached a compromise that wouldn't jeopardize the well-being of everyone on the van, and set out on the tour. We stopped in towns where I had to ask the driver where we were, he said nothing about the towns and did nothing short of drive us from town to town. None of the other 15 learned anything either. There were no stops of pictures, just fast driving, and quick 45 minute stops in each town. It was a hot day and the air condition in the van was not working. Everyone in window seats got wet from some type of moisture that collects when the ac works too hard. There are plenty of other tour companies, choose one of those. I am writing this to keep you from making the same mistake that we did.

This was a great way to see some very beautiful little towns and views of the coast. Our driver did a great job of informing us and guided to a very beautiful restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended.

This is a good way to sample the Amalfi coast if you don't want to drive (not recommended!) and don't know where to go. Each stop is relatively brief (~1 hour) but it is enough time to get a feel for each of Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, as well as enjoying the sights while on the road. Although they are not a tour guide, the driver still makes the effort to point out interesting sights and relay some history. You should not do this if you get very car sick, I managed just about but it's a windy/busy road and the minibus can be a little bit of a squeeze. We have now discovered the places we like best (Positano/Ravello are less touristy) and will use this experience to plan our next trip. Still very happy we went.
We booked this tour through Viator who allocated PNS to do the tour. We were supposed to be mat at our cruise ship but we waited looking at the sea of name plates being held up and couldn’t see Viator anywhere or even PNS. After 20 mins we finally went to the end of the line of waiting people and saw our name on a piece of paper with other names but the PNS logo was tiny. We were walked to a mini bus and we let the more elderly fellow passengers get on first. When we go to get on we were left with the middle two seats on the back row sandwiched between another couple. We had to hold our arms in as there was zero room for movement, We are both 5ft 11 inches and there was no legroom. We had to sit bolt upright, not moving and feeling the impact of every bump in the road in our backs and our knees. The elevated rear seats made it hard to see out the side windows. When we arrived at our first stop Sorrento, we had decided we couldn’t face 8 hours of this nightmare so we told the driver. His main concern was making sure we wrote something to show we had left the tour voluntarily rather than how we were going to get back to Naples. I did write something, “Van too small for the number of passengers, seats not big enough, no leg room, overbooked tour”. No apology even though he rang his bosses. We then faced a 85 minute train journey, standing all the time, back to Naples and a 30 minute walk from the station to the Cruise port. Not now we had wanted to experience the Amalfi coast. Have complained to Viator and will be seeking a full refund. PNS were getting over £600 for this sardine tin like minibus trip and should have put on two minibuses rather than squeeze everyone into one bus. So possibly our only Cruise visit to the Amalfi coast was ruined. If you are booking via Viator and your confirmation shows you have PNS I would recommend cancelling your Viator booking and tell them why. The quality of a customer focussed company is in how they react to problems. These guys were more bothered about covering their own backs by getting us to write a waiver for them. If they really cared they would refund via Viator now and not make us go through the chargeback procedure. Not holding my breath for that one.

Beautiful place. We wish to have more time to explore.

Excellent excursion. Very well planned and executed!. Driver was informative and courteous. Obviously not a whole lot of time at each location but that was to be expected given the fact that it was a shore excursion. However there was enough time allocated to get a good feel for each location and to take pictures, do some shopping and even had time to tour the famous church in Amalfi.
