Our guide Ricardo was very knowledgeable in his subject matter. I would highly recommend anyone going to Naples to take this tour. The city is full of history which is not possible to know without a good guide.

Good tour winding through 2 of the popular streets in the historic, central part of Naples. The visit to the Dominican Basilica as well as the Duomo combined with the historical information provided by our local guide was exceptional.
Riccardo our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. Fascinating walk. Great personality. Great job! Highly recommended.
Our guide was very nice. She waited for us, as we were a few minutes late. She explained some of the history, traditions and superstitions. Gave some pointers as to were to eat and shop.
It was the perfect length. Just enough information to give an overview, but no so much you forget everything. Also the guide gave good suggestions for other things to do.
Very good tour with excellent tour guide....fun and informative...very good value for money.....highly recommended
Livio was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about his city of Napoli. The 2 hour tour was informative
We did a walking tour of the Centro Storico with Riccardo. His English, his cultural and archaeological knowledge, and his passion and humour, all made for an excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Not to be missed. Old Naples has a lot of history and Enrika explained all this very well. This walking tour is well worth it.
We had a fantastic experience on the Old Town Napoli tour led by Enrica. Enrica is truly a spectacular guide—incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about her city. She provided a wealth of fascinating, well-researched facts covering the long history of Naples and the many ancient cultures that have passed through and shaped it. A highlight was her command of the city's religious heart. Enrica offered excellent insight into the significance of Old Town's many cathedrals and churches, weaving together stories of devotion, art, and local faith. Her commentary went far beyond the typical script, making the historical depth of the area easy to grasp and appreciate. If you are looking for a deep, historically rich exploration of Old Town Napoli, Enrica is the guide to choose. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide Enerico was amazing. Her knowledge and love for Naples energised us all. We were left with a wide historical, cultural, social, knowledge of the city, also a love and wish to return.
Firstly let me just sat I love a walking tours. They are a great way to learn more about a new place through the eyes of a local. Who is generally passionate about their city, culture and lifestyle. They can be like a chapter in a new book, that you open and learn all about the history and you get excited about this new land your suddenly in. However, it always depends on the tourguide and today I felt let down. I am sure you could do this tour with another tourguide and have an incredible time. So why do I feel let down. Yes we went to the places listed, although we did not go to the coffee place listed or get to sample the coffee which again is listed you will have on this walking tour. The only thing mentioned about coffee was "Neapolitans love their coffee". My big problem with todays tour was I felt like I wasn't told the stories about what I was looking at. Take me to a church then talk about the church instead of telling me another story about Diego Maradona. Yes I understand he is like a God to Neapolitans, I respect he came during a bad time and was like a beacon of light. He should be mentioned on the tour, but at every stop? Tell me the history of the church! Three times we stopped to get a story about what we was looking at, and each time these were something in souvenir shops. I mean come on. Tell me about the history. Yes I get the chilli one, but the other two times? Come on? We stopped at the beautiful Girolamini Church and the tour focused on some art done by Banksy. Tell me about the Girolamini Church give me some history. The church is beautiful tell me more about that. I honestly started to switch off and so had the rest of the group. Normally on these tours, people offer tips at the end of clap their host. Everyone just walked away and went their separate ways, which sums up what people thought. Sadly today wasn't the great experience I was expecting. I hope if you do this tour you have a better experience.
Great walking tour. Enrica was very informative with a relaxed style. I would highly recommend this tour
Excellent historical tour. Enrika was delightful and engaging. She obviously loves her city and helped us see beyond the graffiti and dirty streets. We could see the amazing special history represented in all of the stones and edifices that was not recognizable to us without her help. Definitely recommend doing this tour as early as possible during your visit in Naples.
Our guide, Tony, made this a very worthwhile experience. This tour helped to orient us to the historic center of Naples and included all sorts of local cultural and historic insights that one can't get simply by visiting a city on their own. Tony made Naples come to life.
We have taken many guided tours in cities all over Europe and this one was quite possibly the worst one ever. After one hour we turned in our listening devices and looked for something else to do in Naples. Our guide, Olivio, was certainly enthusiastic about his city and a proud Neopolitan, but the rapid fire presentation and the repeated focus on subjects unrelated to the historical aspects of Naples, was too much. I could tell that others in our group were losing interest as well. They were looking at their cell phones instead of listening to the guide. During this trip through Italy, Sicily, and Malta, our ears have become better attuned to the different accents, but his was particularly hard to understand. Maybe less enthusiasm or slower speech would have helped. A waste of money in the end. But we were glad we made the decision to leave the group.
Livio was an amusing guide as he took us around the historical centre of Naples explaining the history and traditions of the Neapolitans, not Italians. However We had to ask him to talk more slowly and he did not allow us time to take photos.
The knowledgeand passion of our guide for Naples was amazing. It was a very enjoyable and informative morning
This tour is a fantastic (sophisticated) introduction to Naples, its history and its stories. You'll get an amazing feel for the city, and go through some of its most characteristic spots. I can't recommend it enough.
I have to say we started off a bit unimpressed with the tour but as the time went on we saw many things and got a really good sense of the history and (lasagne) layers that make up Naples. A few surprises along the way, I won’t spoil it, and a ridiculously, over the top, magnificent church at the end. Our guide Camille was very knowledgeable and I think she would have like us all to ask more questions, but she gave us so much info, we really didn’t need to.
Chiara is a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable and passionate about Naples. She knows a lot about history in general, not just about Naples. Also very patient with questions and helped us find great pizza, mementos, and with navigation.
Teresa was our guide and she was fantastic very knowledgable and personable. We were a small group but very enjoyable tour.
Most educated guide I’ve ever had! A scholar and teacher. I feel smarter now! Be prepared for uneven pavement, graffiti and being on your feet without sitting the whole time. That’s just the nature of the terrain, nothing bad on the tour guide.
We, alongside two other couples, were waiting in wain for a guide that never arrived. When we called the tour operator the explanation was first that they couldn't find our booking. When we pointed out that we had the booking confirmation right in front of us, the explanation changed immediately and it was then that Viator, the platform where we booked the tour, had had technical problems for many days and our booking was therefore pending in the tour operator's system and the guide had therefore not showed up. While I find this second explanation unlikely, given that it changed immediately when we pointed out that we had the booking confirmation, if it is correct, why would the tour operator not inform pending customers of technical issues? If informed, we could rebook or find alternative technical solutions. In any case, I do not have much to say about the tour itself, but the tour operator is not reliable.
Very interesting tour that was a great introduction to Naples. Maria was a great guide that helped us understand her city just a bot better!
We didn’t feel like we got the history of the city. It was more little things like paintings on walls etc.
Our tour guide, Enrica, was extremely knowledgeable about Neapolitan and other history (Greek, Roman), styles of architecture, religious and cultural influences, the churches around the city, not to mention the maize of streets and alleyways above and below the ground! (though we didn’t actually go underground, but she described some of them). She arrived early, was very responsive to questions and showed her enthusiasm for her task. It would be nice if we had an earpiece connected to a small intercom box like we did on a tour in Sienna, as the crowds and vehicles made it a little difficult to hear at times, but overall we enjoyed the tour very much and learned a lot. The history of Napoli is quite complex and the tour made me more appreciative of it and anxious to read more about it. I would highly recommend the tour, though make sure you wear comfortable shoes!
Maria Lourdes is an amazing guide. She showed us all the incredible churches and explained the history and superstitions behind them.
We had an excellent tour with Maria. She was a real pleasant and knowledgeable guide. As a proper local she kept the tour interesting the whole time and gave us great insights into the life in Naples and its inhabitants. We also learned a lot about the history of the city and its many traditions. Really recommend!
Ricardo was an amazing tour guide. He was delightful as well as having a wealth of knowledge. Loved the tour and felt like we learned a lot about the local culture. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Riccardo was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and gave us a great start on our time in Napoli. Recommend places to eat and things to see during our next few days here.
It rained for most of our tour, however despite this we had a fun time! Our guide was very knowledgeable about naples/napolitan history and we got to see a variety of spots in the historical district. If you are planning on exploring naples before or after this tour, would recommend mostly avoiding the historical district and seeing the western half of the city as you will see most of the historical district on this tour. The free snack was coffee which was extremely strong but good. It is more so a tour of the evolution of culture and beliefs in napolitan history than an entire history of naples however some of that is weaved in as well
The whole thing was fascinating and I learned so much about Naples and Italy in general. It was well worth the time and money.
Riccardo was an excellent guide and his English is very easy to understand. He is obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about his city, has a sense of humor and is a nice guy.
This tour was a great start to Naples! Ricardo’s love for his city led to an engaging and informative tour of the city. Ricardo walked us through the cultural and historical parts of Naples while skipping the tourist traps and offering a local experience with the addition of great food recommendations.
Raffaele was very knowledgable and his passion for his home city is evident! We stopped at many places we would’ve walked passed if we went on our own. It’s these stops that get you to understand the history, the passion the people have for their city and how vibrant it is. We had a great tour. Would recommend this to anyone young or old.
My family's day in Naples with Raffaele was their FAVORITE part of their trip! He is the BEST guide! My children LOVED hearing all about Naples' past, and seeing all the fun and hidden spots! He showed us a church where his friends were excavating and doing art restoration, which I found so fascinating! He made the city of Naples come alive for us! He is also an archeologist, and a true expert on the city, which made the tour very interesting and educational. I will be booking another tour with him when I visit Herculaneum, and will DEFINITELY be recommending his tours!
Cannot recommend this experience enough; absolutely the best way to see Napoli old town and such a personal, friendly, welcoming experience. We felt we were being welcomed home! We had a private tour with Raffaele and it was a truly fantastic 2.5 hours.
We have done dozens of private tours over the years. Raffaele is one of the best guides, if not the best, guide we’ve ever had. He is a qualified Archaeologist having recently completed his dissertation in Archaeology on the ancient amphoras. Prior to arriving into Naples I corresponded with Raffaele many times to ensure we had a customized tour. He was very patient and spent a lot of time ensuring the tour he had organised was what we wanted. We met him in Naples in early August, for a half day tour. He knows all there is to know about the history of Naples but also all the extra things you would never find by yourself. There seemed to be a surprise or a story along every narrow lane-way or behind every corner, it was fantastic! He knows the history, the sites, everything. We were randomly asking him general questions and he amazed us with his general knowledge including specific dates. We saw unbelievable architecture including some of the most beautiful churches ever. We explored unusual and unknown places like the Neapolitan underground & it was great looking at treasure in art galleries. We can’t think of a better person to have showed us around Naples. Raffaele is very patient and kind. He customized the tour to suit us. The tour he designed for us was exactly what we were hoping for. He even suggested restaurants for us to try after the tour, including the best pizza (and it was) and he provided directions as well. What was really kind of him is that he gave us his personal cell phone number in case we needed any help while we were in Naples. A true gentleman and an excellent tour guide. We just wished we had booked a longer tour as the time flew by. I rate Raffaele’s tour 5 stars, highly recommend!
My friend and I joined this walking tour within a few hours of landing which set us up to enjoy our stay in historic Napoli. The tour provided us with an introduction to Napoli’s complex and long history that can be evidenced in the architecture that we would walk through every day! Our guide provided insight into unique elements of Napoli’s culture, both historical and contemporary, that we would never have learned about on our own which brought the history to life for us. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about local dining and sites throughout Compania which helped make our stay even better!
Very passionate guide Roberta, and well organized tour! It would have been very difficult, given the period so full of tourists, to see all this that Roberta showed us with enthusiasm and expertise. silvia and mauritius
We could not have seen for ourselves what the good, empathetic and prepared Roberta made us discover and visit. We will certainly choose a less chaotic time to savor the wonders of this unique city, too raped by traffic and dirt.
Thank you so much dear Raffaele, your guide and your knowledge were really super. A big compliment 😘👍Karin Maria and Erna.
Città fantastica! Guida professionale, preparata e simpatica. Esperienza da consigliare e ripetere!!!
On Saturday morning for the feast of San Gennaro - patron saint of the city - we had the guided tour of the historic old town. Raffaele told us about the origins of Naples with great enthusiasm, which automatically travels with you. To this day, the city has struggled with the effects of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Along the narrow streets you can see a lot of street art from human rights activists to the most famous artists Blub, Jorit and Banksy. In combination with the old churches and cathedrals in Gothic or Baroque style and ancient witnesses from the Roman and Greek periods, the old town is simply unique and absolutely worth seeing. During the tour there were still mega delicious sfogliatelle and - as it should be - an espresso (caffé). It was an all-round very successful and beautiful tour, which is absolutely recommended. Greetings, Christina
Walking through the streets of the historic center of Naples is a fascinating experience... but if you are accompanied by a guide like Raffaele... then everything becomes even more magical! I got to know the city through the expert eyes of a person who loves it deeply... who neither knows every little detail, anecdote, historical event and curiosity! Raffaele has revealed to us with great professionalism, competence, knowledge and above all sympathy, everything that the city of Naples has to offer and hides... because as he says "In Naples even stones speak"!! and it is really true!!! All this would not have been possible without him!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! and I will definitely rely on the skilled hands of Naples Grand Tour at the next opportunity!
We arrived in Naples on Saturday, May 18 and visited it together with Raffaele, our guide, very prepared and very nice. It was an experience that we will always carry in our hearts and that our 15-year-old son also greatly appreciated. Raffaele has been able to convey to us all the love he has for his beautiful city of a thousand shades. Highly recommended!!!
The first day we were lucky enough to have Alessandra as a guide, very prepared on everything and very nice (until I confessed to be Juventus 😂😂😂). The second day we had the honor of meeting Raffaele, competent and very elegant as a good Neapolitan. Unforgettable experience because they allowed us to know a wonderful city in all its facets. Thank you thank you thank you 😊
