Naples Food Tour: 10+ Tastings, Pizza & Local Specialties

We've taken many excursions from luxury cruises, but never one like this. Our guide Loris, who lives in Naples, seems to know every restaurant owner in the historic neighborhood where we walked. Fabulous food at every stop, great conversation, and cultural/historic information along the way. (a couple of shopping opportunities, too) I have a temporary medical issue that slows me down, and Loris easily accommodated it. The neighborhood where we spent our evening reminded us of the best of New Orleans' French Quarter - lively, full of happy people, but without the misbehavior we have sometimes seen in New Orleans. Our guide, Loris was amazing! We started our food tour at a small, local shop which sells fresh cheese, produce, etc. My husband and I both agree that the buffalo mozzarella was the best that we’ve ever had!! Next we stopped for some fried fish which was so big we couldn’t finish it (we also had some wine along with the fish). Then Loris brought us to this cute, little hole in the wall place for cheese, olive oil, spreads and wine. We stayed there for a while and just enjoyed the ambiance. The owner of the shop was so welcoming. He showed us around was very proud of his products which were amazing! We also stopped along the way for a bowl of pasta with ragu sauce that was to die for!! Lastly, we stopped for fried pizza as well as a Neopolitan pizza which was also the best we’ve ever had. All in all, this was the best food tour we’ve been on in Italy. I highly recommend this tour and the tour guide, Loris. You won’t be disappointed. Make sure you go hungry!!!!!

What a great way to spend a few hours in Naples! Our guide Giovanni was wonderful.. informative, funny & knew all of the right places to go. We experienced some great food , desert, wine & limoncello as well as a bit of a history along the way. Visiting with family from the USA. Loris was the BEST! A great variety of really tasty food - something for everyone. We explored the historical center of town, Loris told great stories so we ate like locals. An absolute blast, don’t miss this.

Where to begin? Our first pleasant surprise was that the tour was just the 2 of us! We misunderstood the listing and thought it was a group of up to 8 guests. Our next was Carolina's depth and breadth of knowledge of the history, culture and lifestyle of Napoli. She showed us many different sights and took the time to answer all of our questions. Not just related to the food we ate! The food was a wide representation of Naples food offerings. Rich in history and tasty. The best items we tasted were the pizza and the ragu ziti pasta! They were both amazing! But the absolute best part of the tour was Carolina! She was delightful, easy to understand, helpful and fun to be with! We ate, we drank and we laughed... A lot!

Had a great time with Loris. Had a LOT of food, come hungry. He even walked us (2 women) back to our hotel at the end. As it turned out, it was unnecessary, but very sweet of him.

Giovanni was a fantastic guide and the tour was not only great fun, we learned about the lives of Neapolitans and the city of Naples too. The time simply flew by, we laughed and joked, all the while eating delicious food and feeling like one of the locals. Not even a drenching with rain could dampen the tour-a swift duck into a slick cafe/gelateria solved that and kept the smiles going with baba and sfogliatelle. Four of us went on a private food tour with Gianni. Best way to do the tour, undivided attention and at our own speed. Our favorite was the wine, cheese and meat tasting at a deli off the beaten path (with Domingo). We then had pasta, followed by fried pizza (a favorite of our lovely guide, Gianni), then pastries, desserts, and coffee (even the non-coffee drinkers tried the espresso). Gianni was a delightful and friendly host, providing a relaxing and enjoyable stroll through the historical area. We also enjoyed his stories! A great experience!

We had a great experience on the private food tour with Ramona. We were visiting Naples on a cruise. This tour gave us very authentic experiences eating at spots we probably wouldn't have stopped at otherwise. Even though I didn't see the option, I requested a French speaker. Ramona did a great job at sharing information with both the French and English speakers in our group.

It felt like we got a very authentic experience eating where we did. She answe She communicated clearly beforehand via Whatsapp where we would meet. She also helped us get a taxi back to the cruiseship at the end of the tour While I didn't see it listed as an option, I requested French. Ramona did a great job of sharing information in both French and English for our group.

Excellent food tour with Giovanni! We tried so many delicious snacks including fried pizza, fish, mozzarella, cheese, salami, sweets including rum baba and drinks. It was all delicious but the highlight was the cheese, meats and wine! As a Naples local Giovanni was knowledgeable and shared lots of information including other places for us to try later. Great pace over a few hours. Would highly recommend!
