The BEST time making pizza as a family! Even my 10yo and 6yo children had a great time and are still talking about it. Chef Luigi was wonderful to cook with and he answered any questions we had. We really enjoyed his company. We learned all the details of making a pizza and got to do every step (except cook the sauce, which takes 4hrs) on our own. We started making dough, but since it takes an overnight rise, we set it aside to take home and used premade dough balls. We then made pizza matgherita, fried pizza with ricotta and salame, and fried pizza dough called angelitos with drizzled Nutella and powdered sugar. Everything was delicious, and is even our favorite meal we’ve had in Napoli, even though we have been to fabulous places and went on a terrific food tour today. We did not use a wood fire oven to cook the pizza, and instead used a skillet, so i was wondering how the pizza would turn out. No need to wonder, it was still amazing. We were so stuffed from our pizzas at lunch time that we didn’t even need dinner. The kitchen you cook in is a stunning and beautiful white kitchen, designed by an architect, i was told. It’s very fun to cook in it. And everyone on the staff was so friendly and kind! It is not how we are used to being treated in Italy. I can not say enough good about it!

Itinerary
We'll learn the tricks to make the real Neapolitan Pizza at home without a wood oven as Neapolitan people do. We will turn into experienced Pizza Makers and will practice the techniques to make a good dough, combining together traditional ingredients. We will experiment with simple and fast cooking techniques to maintain the unmistakable taste and crunchiness of Neapolitan pizza even at home. We will prepare and taste together the Pizza Margherita, the Fried Calzone (Pizza Fritta) and finally we will delight our palate with the classic montanara, which combines the ingredients of the margherita, but on a previously fried pizza dough, another classic of the Neapolitan tradition, present in street food. It will be a journey within the traditional flavors of our land - You cannot miss it! Toffini Academy is ranked in the top 10 Cooking School in Italy but it is the only one totally dedicated to non-professional food lovers. That's why you will not learn in the kitchen of a restaurant or a Pizzeria but in a special domestic kitchen where you will have your own place and tools to maximize the experience, because our promise is that you will be able to do it at home!

When I got the event it had been cancelled. I had walked for 35 minutes to get there on very hot day. They had emailed me to inform me but I had already left that morning. I was so angry and upset. A really poor service and a sour end to my Naples trip. If there was a 0 star option I would give it.
We came as a tour group with ESTDUE and had a fun evening making delicious pizzas. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the entire experience.
Amazing experience, well executed, great facilities and lots of fun. The instructors carried out the training in English. There were 24 in the group, we had a ball.
Amazing cooking class with chef Luigi in a beautiful facility!! You need to come hungry because there’s lots to enjoy! Wonderful staff and a great experience start to finish.
You cook and eat 3 different types of pizza. The chef was fantastic and the establishment was very nice and professional.
This was an interesting class. We learned a recipe for dough and made it. Then how to stretch the dough and make the pizza. We also made pizza fritta and pizza ball appetì zero We had expected to bake our pizza but instead cooked it in a skillet. It came out quite good but was not exceptional. However, the pizza fritta - or fried pizza (similar to a calzone) was delicious. My wife and i ate one and saved one for the following day and ate it while waiting for the train As far as pizza taste this was just average, but the knowledge and friendly staff make it a fun recommendation. For us, it was a good way to spend several hours on a rainy day. We also made a pizza fritta.
Luigi is very friendly and his lessons are very nice. He was happy to share all the secrets neede to lmake a tasty pizza.
Everyone here was so nice and the food was amazing! We left so full. We had a lot of fun and would definitely return if we come back to Naples!
I’d highly recommend this place for a visit. Luigi was skilled and a good teacher and made the class a lot of fun. I was impressed by the food that we all cooked so simple great flavour and delicious. A minor issue with a double booking caused by myself was brought to my attention and quickly sorted out with Viator over a WhatsApp chat session.
Man that’s a lot of food! Our pizza making experience was great. We learned that you can make great pizza in a frying pan and that truly great sauce is cooked for a LONG time. We left with wonderful recipes and the knowledge of where one of our favorite foods was born. The entire team was very welcoming and helpful. We were happy for the walk back to the cruise port to burn off some of the carbs consumed. 97 degree heat helped😂
This was by far one of the best experiences I had in Italy. Make sure you go hungry !!!! This kitchen is spotless and the chef was Amazing thanks !!!
Luigi was great. We had a wonderful time in this class. The facility is clean and nicely set up for teaching cooking, as it is held at a cooking academy. We each made 3 different pizzas - Neopolitan, fried and one I can’t remember the name of but it was like pizza bites/balls. Plenty of left overs to take home - my husband is eating his right now as a snack! Would definitely do another cooking class with this company!
We enjoyed wine and beer while learning techniques to make pizza three ways at home. Very informative, and got to eat all of our creations! Luigi was very helpful, great English, and took the time to ensure all our questions were answered.
Luigi made this a very personal cooking experience. The other couples all cancelled and we had a private class. He answered questions of interest. We had great sharing conversion and instruction on sauce. Vegetables and ham and cheese. His English was perfect for my poor Italian
We had a wonderful time learning how to make pizza three ways from Chef Luigi. We highly recommend this experience to anyone.
Great class with lots of tips to enable you to make pizza easily at home. The calzone was also very tasty! Good for kids (mine is 8)— they’ll learn what they need to make dinner for the family (no joke!)
We made two pizzas in a way I never thought before; it was a really nice atmosphere as we were only 4 people, and chef Luigi explained very well how to do the pizzas! Loved it!
We had a wonderful experience with Luigi learning pizza! It was the highlight of my husband’s birthday!
We had an awesome time at this class. Everyone at the academy is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed learning pizza techniques - you make a lot of food so definitely come hungry! A great way to spend time if you visit Naples.
Perfect for our group. Three types of pizza with fabulously fresh ingredients. You can’t go wrong with this one!
We reviewed lots of pizza making places and found this absolute gem! It is easy to find and relatively central to Naples. Greeted and introduced to the history of pizza by Alberto, it was fun and interesting. Then we went into the class with Luigi. Really good class where Luigi had lots of enthusiasm and love for all things Italian! He showed us how to make 3 different kinds of pizza, all of which we could do at home, no pizza oven needed! All members of the class had an individual cooking station and it taught you authentic Italian cooking. Really enjoyed it and we were absolutely stuffed - so much food!! And you can buy some lovely accompanying wine at very good price!! Definitely recommend to any tourist. Thankyou ☺️
This was a top 5 moment of my Italy trip. I would highly recommend. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. We learned to make 3 different pizzas with chef Luigi and learned lots of interesting facts about the history of Napoli pizza aswell. It gets you out of the sun for 2 hours and is very simple to follow, and the best thing is you get to eat delicious hot pizza.
Lovely welcoming team, we left very full with lots of ideas to try at home! They taught how to cook the pizza without a pizza oven which was an added bonus of being able to replicate the results!
A real highlight to our trip to Italy, our pizza class at Toffini Academy will be a wonderful memory, that we will share with others when preparing our pizzas at home with the Naple's delicious crust with crunch and softness! Welcomed by owner Alberto, you receive a history of Naples' love of food. Each student has their own impeccably appointed cooking station, for a totally hands on experience. Chef Luigi's enthusiasm for fresh, simple ingredients and helpful instruction for each step will have you confidant to make a variety of pizzas and calzones for your family and friends in your own home. Every bite delicious and every minute fun! Highly recommended.
We did a pizza making course and found it highly enjoyable. The chef and hosts Luigi and Alberto were very helpful before, during and after. With their help we easily made two very delicious pizzas. Great history lesson to go with it too. Finally a very fair price - well worth having a go!
We arrived a bit early due to a happy mistake -- and so we received a more personalized experience than we would have otherwise. Alberto took us under his wing and took the time to share with us the history of this culinary tradition we call "pizza". Of course, there is nothing like a hands-on experience, and this is what you will get at Toffini. We made two types of pizza: A stove-top version and pizza fritta (what we knew as "calzone"). Bring an open mind and an empty stomach, since you will be eating a lot of pizza! My only regret is that now I cannot go back to eating delivery pizzas now.... Next time we are in Naples, we will be sure to check out some of the other classes.
The lesson was very fun and useful. I had made some pizza before and I think they gave me some useful advice to improve it. The place is very clean and staff very friendly. They provide you with tools and ingredients to cook by yourself. Before cooking they tell you about the history of pizza. Note that, since the lesson lasts for a couple of hours, which are not enough to make your dough properly leaven, you do have the chance to try to make your own dough (which you can bring at home with you), but then you finalize your pizza with another dough already leavened. At the end you can eat what you have just cooked! Not just normal pizza but also pizza fritta (fried pizza)! Yummy!
Whats the point of leaning how to make a pizza in a wood-burning oven when you don’t have one at home? This class shows you how to do it without one. Perfect! After a warm welcome and a refreshing soft drink we made one pizza margarita, ate it and then made a pizza fritta with ricotta and salami each and ate that. We finished up with an espresso. The cook/instructor Luigi was very friendly and so were all the other people involved. Everybody seemed to have a great time, including our 7 year old son. The premises are really nicely equipped, it is a professional cooking school, so it is all very well organised. Great layout allowing enough space for everyone - clean work top to work on, a fresh set of tools and a stove for each participant. The class is advertised on Trip Advisor as starting at 11:30, but now starts at 12:00, it would be great to update this. Otherwise, everything else was brilliant. Thank you for a great experience!
My family of 5 and I loved the class. We made pizza and a calzone. The Chef and staff were great and very friendly. My 10, 13, and 15 year olds really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
The team at Toffini provided an excellent demonstration of taking simple quality ingredients to make the best pizzas! We had everything provided for us and clearly explained what we needed to do. Alberto was very friendly and gave us some wonderful information on the origin of pizza and its evolution in Naples. Luigi gave us great instruction and helped us make the prefect pizzas. This is a must do if you are a foodie!!
I have nothing but good things to say about the pizza cooking class with Toffini Academy! It exceeded the expectations (and wishes) of my wife and I. First off, Toffini Academy is an offshoot of the Toffini kitchen store that designs beautiful kitchens, so you know kitchens and cooking are their primary focus. The kitchen for the cooking class was no different -- spacious and laid out well, with clean counters to work on, a fresh set of tools and a stove-top for each participant. Second, the instructors were fabulous. We were greeted with soft drinks, warm smiles and genuine interest in us (where we're from, etc). Instructors were fun, funny, engaging, and know how to interact with each student individually. Their instructions were clear, and they waited for each student to be on the same page (helping along the way). They also gave the history of each type of pizza, which was very cool to know. We enjoyed a (whole) bottle of wine while cooking and eating, and eat eat eat we did! Way more food than myself or my wife could eat, and we took home the rest. As an icing to the cake, after the class we enjoyed espresso with Alberto at a local cafe. The coffee machine at Toffini was on the fritz, so Alberto escorted us down the road to his friend's cafe. Along the walk he pointed out other areas of interest in the Chiaia area. A simple gesture, but it extended the graciousness and friendliness shown during the class and made this an even more memorable experience. Thank you!!
My daughter and I took this pizza class from Luigi and Alberto. The cooking area was spotless, efficient and organized. The instructions were clear and they watched over us and provided personal attention when needed. We made a pizza margherita, fried pizza and calzone which were all delicious. It was a relaxed and fun atmosphere to spend a few hours in Naples. Can't wait to try the pizza techniques at home!
Was a terrific experience, great host, informative chef, was absolutely a highlight of our trip to Italy. Would recommend this to anyone looking for something unique to do.
A truly great and entertaining class! From making the dough to sprinkling parmiggiano on top, every detail was explained perfectly. Would recommend to everybody who loves pizza and would like to learn how to make it at home like an Italian. Alberto is a nice guy that will answer your questions quickly. Thank you, guys!
This was a highlight of our trip for us and our 3 kids. I was wondering if it would be worth it to spend the time to get to the school as we were staying in Sorrento on our way to Rome. But it was well worth it!! Great pizza, great memories. They were very kind and accommodating to our kids. Very easy access by subway and we brought our bags with us. Can’t wait to try the recipe at home!!
I went to this class alone and came out with new friends! Aside from learning how to make pizza, you will learn the history and found new friends at the same time! Alberto and chef Luigi were very nice and friendly that made the whole class very entertaining and fun. I believed that when you want to learn something, learn it from the best and with fun. And in Toffini you have it all❤️ It was great! I would love to come back in the future! I am so thankful for this experienced and can’t wait to make pizza myself🍕❤️❤️
Alberto was so kind in answering our questions via phone/text and helping us schedule a class for 5 women on our one and only night in Naples. We had trouble getting the website to accept out credit cards, but he graciously accepted our promise that we would attend the class. We arrived a few minutes early to pay for the class and get settled. The chef and Alberto seemed to have an excellent rapport and, even though the chef didn't speak much English, Alberto and some other chefs in the kitchen helped translate for the English speakers. We had fun and learned some really interesting tips for how to make the best dough possible. After the class, Alberto kindly touched base to make sure I was feeling alright (too much sun the day before had me feeling ill during the class) and sent us all recipes and pictures from the night. We would have also loved the recipe for the tomato sauce, but we're looking forward to trying our hands at pizza making at home! Thanks to Toffini for a great, memorable experience!
This class was fun and the hosts were wonderful! After we learned a little bit about the history of pizza in Naples, we got to cooking! Cooking was stress free with help and guidance from Luigi and Alberto. I recommend this class to anyone looking for a something new and different in Naples!
Went with my boyfriend and there was only one other guy in the class which made it feel like a private class. Our instructor (I feel terrible for not remembering his name but he's pictured below) was very passionate and super fun to learn from which made the class an overall great experience! I thought we were going to just make pizza but we also made fried calzones (dangerously good) and this other fried food with sauce and cheese (pictured below) that I cant remember the name of but it was soooo good! Also, we got to eat a ton of delicious buffalo mozzarella while cooking :) SO YUMMMMMY! I highly recommend this class! We had to leave for the airport immediately after class so our instructor made us an espresso while he called us a cab. Can't get any better than that! Thanks for such a great experience!
I really loved this class. I received a warm welcome and enjoyed learning how to make different pizzas. Delicious! Highly recommended.
This class was the best! We learned how to make three delicious and authentic Neopolitan pizzas and I am confident we can replicate it back home. Alberto and Luigi were great teachers and charming hosts and the facilities are top notch. The school is in a lovely neighborhood about a block away from the metro and a short ride to Garibaldi - the heart of Naples. Go hungry because you are going to want to savor every bite of your delicious masterpieces! We had a great time, ate great pizza, learned a lot and made some new friends. It does not get any better than that!!!
Really enjoyable experience, everybody went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home from the moment we stepped through the door. I thought it was great to learn how to make pizza that is easily to replicate at home rather than using a traditional pizza oven that we'd never have access to again. By the end of it we couldn't eat anymore food even though we wanted to we were so stuffed! Big thanks to Lugi our chef for the day and Alberto for providing some pizza history and thoughtful comments/picture taking along the way. Would highly recommend this to anybody thinking about it.
The Pizza cooking workshop was a perfect activity for team trip (from Holland). First the communication with Alberto is easy, his english is very well and he's answering very quickly on messages by e-mail or phone. We had a warm welcome by Alberto and his team. Luigi and Alberto have a lot of information of the history of Naples and the Pizza. The cooking experience was great, the 3 pizza's we've made were lovely and we had a great time together. Thanks a lot, greetz Arjanne
Hosts provided a great environment with lots of support and assistance to help us make 3 pizzas. Make sure that you go hungry as you will make plenty of food!
Over our approximately 2 weeks in Italy and Greece, this was the most fun thing that we did. Alberto, Luigi and Maurizio were very helpful in teaching us about the history of pizza, and how to make three different types. They were very positive but also let us know when we were doing something wrong so that it would turn out well in the end. The best part is that all three types were prepared in a way to be replicated at home, which is obviously convenient for those without a wood oven at home. Again, we had so much fun and hope to be able to return someday to take another class with the team at Toffino.
We had a realy great pizza making class. We've learned to make different kind of pizza!I was a great experience and we had a lot of fun with the nice peaople of the Toffini Academy!
I had a great time at this cooking class. Alberto and team were really fantastic - fun, organized and passionate. The studio is beautiful and modern. The ingredients were very high quality and the length of time was just right. Alberto is really passionate about helping you have a great experience not only at their cooking school but also in your visit to Naples - he gave us his card and said to contact him for any help. I highly recommend this place.
we had so much fun at the pizza class at the toffini academy. Alberto, Luigi and all the stuff was very pleasant and nice. The dishes we made were so delicious! An authentic italian experience, highly recommended!
We had so much fun at the Toffini Academy pizza making class. They were so easy and flexible to book prior to our leaving the US. It was all done over Facebook and email. We even had to shift back our class one hour due to our ship’s port time changing and they were very nice and accommodating. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the owners Alberto and Maurizio. While we waited for the other students, we chit chatted and drank a fruity beverage. Everyone was just lovely and charming. The space was bright and inviting. Luigi taught our class – he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to teach those of us that didn’t speak any Italian (with a little translation help from Maurizio). We made 3 kinds of pizzas, all using equipment we have in our homes for easy duplication of the recipes. I had to save my calzone for dinner as everything was so delicious and filling! Being in Italy, we of course had wine with our meal. If I ever return to Naples, I will definitely take another class. They teach so much more than just Italian food. I’d LOVE to take the pastry class!
