The staff was very helpful. This is a must see tour. I would recommend the unguided tour. It’s a small enough site that you don’t really need or. Well worth the time and money.

A great site to visit and so much history to learn. Much better experience than Pompeii, not least as the latter has no shade. We only had 2 hours but in the heat that was long enough for us. But you could easily spend more time
We met our private tour guide, an archeologist - Francesco. He collected the tickets for us and we went right in.
Pompeii was great but directions for where to redeem ticket was confusing. Google maps sent us to back gate. Would have liked a better map for inside site.
Fantastic day ! Easy to find the travel office, added tour guide for €25 Tour guide was knowledgeable and very entertaining for 2 hours. Wandered for another 3 hours after the tour, fantastic place !
Pompeii site is big. A bit disappointing because most of what we wanted to see is in a museum off site. The remaining frescoes and mosaics are worth seeing but it is still just a big archaeological site with walls higher than most old ruined cities. The process of ordering tickets ahead was a mixed bad - we had to email the operator a few times before getting reasonably clear instructions on finding the meeting point - and even then wasn't 100% easy. Then the queue up and down the stairs to reach their ticket office wasn't much shorter than the queue to buy tickets at the gate. Maybe better if it was a really busy day?
Very large area with lots to see, so allow plenty of time. We hired the audio tour so we could go at our own pace. Wear comfy shoes and a hat, & take plenty of water to drink.
Seeing the sites is best with a guided tour. We added on the guide once we checked in and he was very knowledgeable and took us to all the must see sites
Super easy to get the tickets and a 1 minuite walk to enter the site. Pompeii is what it says on the tin. Ticked off the bucket list …
Just buy your tickets on site. No fast track necessary, didn't even use the tickets we purchased bc after we parked in the Zeus parking lot it was a 10 minute walk down the hill to use the TripAdvisor tickets, before you had to walk back to.the entrance. The antiquarium was closed when we visited. Don't do a tour either. It only covers the first two areas and not even the whole place. It's a LONG process from what we saw of the groups. We didn't do a tour after we did a tour at colossseum bc of how boring it was and we could move around faster on our own. They told us there weren't places to know what things were but everything had signs and labels. They just wanted us to have an upcharge to have a tour. Those people looked miserable. Don't buy on TripAdvisor, you will have to go out of your way to recieve their tickets.
Great little trip with our adult children. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Only wished we would have taken water in with us as we got really warm and thirsty. Wasn’t real crowded in June or super hot so perfect time to go.
We were instructed to pick up our tickets at Villa dei Misteri. So after walking 30 minutes uphill to the site, we found that this was an exit only and there was no entry to the archaeological site. We walked downhill 15 minutes and found a ticket location to trade in our confirmation for our entry tickets. It appears that any entrance will accept your online ticket purchase. Please do not travel all the way up the hill to find that you cannot enter. We were very disappointed with this information, but we really appreciated visiting the archaeological site.
The size and scope of the site. The amount of excavation that had to be completed and the number of acres still to be excavated is just massive.
Wow wow wow ! Natalia is a hidden gem in Italy not only are you getting a tour guide you are getting someone who studied modern history she truly has an I depth knowledge of not only pompeii but all modern history, yes there are other tour guides but if your lucky and you can hire Natalia you will have a great experience
The downloaded voucher has the meeting point prominently in two places. But that long walk is NOT the place to get the tickets. The smaller description is not clear and there are no signs pointing g to it. When we found the location they continued to try to sell us a tour or audio and would not give us the tickets until the office the office filled with people that would buy tours. At this time of year and first thing in the morning we would not have needed a jump the line. Other Viatour have been great. This was a total waste of time and money.
Interesting archaeological site. Lots of different areas to investigate. Brings to life what happened.
We got a tour for 2 hrs when we got there and it was great! Fast and easy with viator pass ticket! We only paid 20 extra dollars for the tour! She wqs very good!
Sobering, and a familiar feeling of a modern city. Would go again. Would recommend this self guided tour
The voucher sent by Viator gave an address to exchange for tickets. This was 3 quarter of a mile walk to be told that they had to be exchanged back at the station where we came from. To say I am angry is an understatement. A 1 and half mile walk in 37 degrees ruined the experience before we got in. I will never use viator again
Walking through ruins, visiting museum. Children had to get their own tickets for entry, even though they were free, so that held us up.
We went to four different spots to retrieve our pre paid tickets and no one could find them. It was extremely hot and crowded and agents patience was not very good. We finally bought tickets to visit Pompeii. The problem was that there was no internet to help us with the download. This is my second bad experience with v Viator. I will not use this company again nor will I recommend this company. I would like a refund of $54.64 to my credit card- which information you have.
Easy to book and ticket office is easy to find. Exactly as they say - first floor of the train station building. We booked their guide last minute and so glad that we did as it is HUGE and you’d never get to see all the good bits and learn extra facts.
Great agent. Very welcoming. Make sure you get off at the correct Pompeii train station, there are two. The office is adjacent to the station. The agent suggested an upgrade to a guided tour. Good advice since Pompeii is vast and we were much more efficient with our limited available time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable.
The site of Pompeii was wonderful. I stayed there for 4 hours. It was uncrowded and an absolute delight. However, the info. provided to pick up the tickets was missing or at least incomplete. I received only an address from Viator which, via Google Maps sent me to the top of the hill and an exit only, and no tickets to pick up. They sent me back down the hill to the main entrance gate. I entered, stood in line to pick up my ticket, just to be told I had to go across the street to the train station. Ultimately, the ticket pickup location was easy to find, once directed ther, and my tickets were handed out to me immediately. But why, oh why, didn't Viator provide the information on specifically where to pick up the tickets. Iran around for about 45 minutes trying to figure it out or standing in line for information to find my "skip the line" tickets. Good job I arrived early.
Pompeii, of course, is one of the world’s great archaeological sites, and it never disappoints. We used Viator to secure entry tickets, and the process worked very well. Minimum fuss and minimum wait. We were able to enter the site without delay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
An incredible experience. If you have the chance this is like no other site you will ever see. Go , you can thank me later.
Great day out, very useful to be able to step off the train at Pompeii and pick up a ticket that gave us fast track entry to the archeological site.
Honestly it’s not worth the money. The place where you have to pick up the tickets are hard to find and when we got there they had a hard time finding our reservation. It’s cheaper to buy from the official website and you save time as well. All in all a generally bad experience.
Tempio Travel could not provide the skip the line ticket I purchased. I had to stand in the ticket line with their voucher!
The actual ruins were great. The tour company Tempio Travel who we recieved our tickets from was awful. The "archeologist" tour was good but was too large of a group so if you were not in the front and wanted to see an area you were left behind. We were told the tour would start in 15 min and ended up waiting an hour. I would advise finding a better tour company. The ruins are large and it would take days to see them in their entirety and the tour consolidates the highlights.
The y Did not allow me to enter with my guest. I was running around , back and forth to where the voucher instructions told me to go And they still said, "these are not our tickets" or " just go to x,y,z" I had to buy 3 more. I called my credit card company to see if I could get a refund.
Me impacto la descripción de la forma de vida y confort de esa sociedad hace tantos años . Es increíble el tipo de construcciones y fascinante haber descubierto esta maravilla debajo de las cenizas
we were guided by Stella, a very good guide. you can see that he loves his job and has done everything in a professional manner.
First time at Pompeii excavations. Unique and unforgettable experience thanks to the immense work of the archaeologists. Many thanks to Ciro Garofalo who accompanied and guided us during the visit with competence and kindness
