After several recent tours with large groups, we decided to take advantage of a personal 3 hour tour of Herculaneum with Mario Frenna of visit Amalfi Coast. Mario served as our tour guide and driver. He has an excellent background in both Archeology as a graduated student and researcher. As a guide he brings both together for an amazing experience at Herculaneum. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him taking us through the site and attached museum. Visiting there was along time priority interest of mine. It was fully satisfied today. We had a truly excellent visit to Herculaneum this morning with Mario. With degrees in history and archaeology he is extremely well informed and very personable at the same time. He’s been doing this for 20 years and and is still as enthusiastic and interested in the excavations today. He organized our transportation, which went off without a hitch and met us in site. While I’m sure he could’ve given a longer tour and held our attention all day, he did an expert job at giving an overview in the two hours we had to spend there. I’ll be thinking about the people from 2000 years ago I feel I got to know today for a long time. Don’t hesitate for a second to hire Mario.

Mario provided an amazing set of tours and was the best guide my family has ever had! We went to Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Oplontis over two days. My teenage sons and I love history and Mario's historical and archaeological knowledge and passion surpassed anything we could have imagined. Additionally, he helped arrange transportation, which not only made the whole experience very smooth on some very hot days but also provided lively commentary on everything from history to local food. For our port stop in Naples, we (parents & two teens) chose to tour Herculaneum as most of us had previously toured Pompeii. Diego our driver picked us up from the cruise dock in Naples and took us to Herculaneum. We were worried because our cruise line had a last minute change of dock location but Diego was right there when we got off the ship! It was a great ride full of historical information about what we were driving by peppered with fun anecdotes. Mario met us at Herculaneum and we had a wonderful guided tour.
