This was a great experience. The guide at Pompeii was engaging and knowledgeable. The free time at Herculaneum was wonderful. Only complaint was feeling a little like cattle on the bus transfers in between sites.

Once you get to the top (1000 metres of hight by our bus), gaze at the crater, its fumaroles and the unique panorama of the whole region with Capri, Ischia, Procida, Naples and Pompeii from above. The Vesuvius Tour lasts 3 hours (in total): 1 hour and half is free time to reach the Crater and visit the top.
- During this experience, travelers will see some of the most important things of Pompeii Ruins such as Amphitheater, Thermopolis, some temples, and a lot of famous Roman houses (Casa del Fauno). This tour with an audio guide in language lasts 2 hours and it's with a detailed map.

Excellent. Only one little improvement needed - some directions on the bus from Vesuvio to Herculaneum for where to go from the bus at Herculaneum. All the lack of directions caused was a little confusion and loss of a few minutes.
We didn’t have a tour guide to explain about the excursion. We had a person who didn’t even introduced himself but he left after we returned from our first activity (Vesuvius). After that the group was just given tickets for Herculaneum and Pompeii and continued by it self. We had no one to answer our questions or provide general trip information. These trips aren’t cheap and I think we deserved even a tour guide to be the entire trip duration with us.
When I went to pick up tickets at the location provided, I couldn’t find the place. I went into a hotel to ask, but they didn’t know where I was to go either. I called and the hotel called the tour operator, but no one answered the call. I double checked the address by clicking on the map link, and we were in the right location to pick up the tickets. Since I wasn’t at the meeting spot when we were to leave, the tour company called me. I told her where we were and it would take us 10 minutes to walk back to the meeting location, even though I never got the tickets. She said sorry but she wouldn’t wait that long. The information on the website said they would wait no longer than 15 minutes for anyone running late. I guess that wasn’t true. Sadly, we didn’t get a refund. I messaged them several times, but they never responded again. All I could do is cry and know that I was out $305.62. I booked a similar tour through GetYourGuide. After paying about the same amount AGAIN, I messaged the new company about picking up tickets. They let me know the tickets will be available in the app. On the tour, I showed them what happened with the other company. They agreed i was to present my voucher at the Redemption Point to exchange it for my tickets, and then go to the Meeting Point at another location. The guide tried to get my money back, but he couldn’t get through to them.
Great experience. Everything managed perfectly. Very professional team. Clear instructions at each drop off point. The audio guides were not useful. The numbers on the site (Herculeaneum and Pompeii) did not match the numbers on the Audio guides. Other groups we saw in Herculeaneum had actual in-person guides who were explaining stuff properly. Missed that.
We were given 2 different meeting points. The tour guide was a no show. Trying to get our money back. We also were unable to contact our tour operators.
It was a very full day, the tour company feel like a well oil machine and kept timings really well. I don't remember seeing anything about bringing lunch and time isn't factored in to eat, luckily we brought food with us but I think this could be clearer. We went to Pompeii after Herculaneum and finished at Vesuvius. All the sites were fab but it would have been great to have longer at Pompeii, especially given the itinerary change this was the time we had to factor in food as well. One of our audio guides didn't have any battery charge at Pompeii so this did hinder the experience a little as we had to try and share.
I bought this experience for the next day and they made it. Multiple vans soo we didn't have to wait for long. Recommended for people with little time.
Information provided at Vesuvius only. We should have been notified to bring ear buds for Heraculean tour. App kept kicking us out and we wasted time Signing on every few minutes. Audio devices did not work well at Pompeii and not enough time provided for exploring!
Well-guided tour, the sights are incredible! A must once in a lifetime! I would not mind coming back.
It was fantastic not have to worry and being dropped off as close as possible. Everything was well explained. We had plenty of time at each location. Everyone was very nice.
This experience was very well organised. We visited all three locations in one day, picked up from Naples. The highlight for me was Versuvius, it was a twenty minute walk to the highest point you can get to, although the walk is very steep. The views were amazing across the bay of Naples! You are allocated over one hour at this location, I would recommend using the bathroom before going to Versuvius as being up the side of a volcano there are facilities, but they are lacking. Herculaneum was a small settlement which like Pompeii has been excavated to reveal very well preserved buildings. Personally I found Pompeii to be a more interesting stop, however I do think Herculaneum is well worth the visit. You are allocated about two hours at both of these locations and there are good facilities at both. The tour operators were well organised and made transition between each stop nice and smooth. The buses did have air-condtioning which was needed in the August heat. This is a self-guided tour, although audio-guides were provided at Herculaneum and Pompeii. Overall I would recommend this tour, it is a long day out, but very interesting and you can see alot in one day!
Didn’t turn up. I followed google maps to the meeting point through the Viator app got there 30 mins before they would pick me up and no one turned up. Got a WhatsApp message saying where are you we are leaving now at 9:25am, then got a WhatsApp call, answered and was just this Italian man speaking broken English and yelling, tried to say it’s only 5 minutes past pick up time, I’m sure I’m here, I followed the directions exactly but if I’m at the wrong place please send me your location and I’ll run there or even get a taxi if I have to, shouted something else at me, hung up and wouldn’t answer any of my calls, stood there for another 30 minutes trying to call and message to try sort this out as I desperately didnt want to miss this tour, nothing and I Didn’t get a refund either because they said I didn’t turn up and I said they didn’t, so Viator just said there’s nothing they can do, I’m going to be using GetYourGuide from now on, there customer service help you more and actually believe you but if you continue to use Viator, I wouldn’t book the specific tour, it’s very expensive and if how the treated me as a customer despite what I’d spent or trying to help or figure out what happened at all, just not ok, at this point considering how rude and aggressive they were im guessing the whole thing is a scam, Naples is rough and dangerous as hell, people trying to scam, beg and steal of you everything they can.
Pompeii is self guided and it makes it an awful experience. The park is poorly marked (it's worse than you'd expect). If you're going to Pompeii, pay for a tour guide. Vesuvius is nice, Herculaneum is ok.
Very expensive coach trip , no guide incuded in the price, not enough time for Pompei, and the video guide completely inaccurate for Heraklum as the ruins numbers doesnt match the ones in video guide. In Pompei you will also get an audio guide but you only have to 2hrs to see a massive area so there is no time to use the audio guide as you need to be a bit of experienced in using this device and knowledgeable of the ruins numbers along with the regions numbers in order to use it quickly. The 2 hrs for Pompei are counted from the moment you leave the coach. This includes the time you need for bringing back the audio guide and collecting your document (as you must leave passport or any other legal document in order to get the audio guide and your ticket). Then the Vesuvius staff will ask you to scan a code and leave review for a free gift. The gift value is around €0.50.Generally the idea of the trip is good but not for the price they asked you for .They are aware that you are a tourist so will not make a complain and they can value their products as much as they want. .For 2 people I have paid almost €170 on Tiqets ,where this company sell its trips. A biiit overpriced!
Great tour to fit everything in, in one day. Co’ordinated well at each stop. Only disappointment was, it states in advert that it’s a max of 17 people, but there were 50 on our bus, which can be frustrating when you’re hanging around ticking off all the travellerd
Overall there was poor communication throughout the process. At the starting meeting location there were several groups waiting for a bus and the 2 coordinators did not tell anyone what was going on. The listing says group size of 17 and there were 40 of us on the bus, with narrow seats. We first went to Mt. Vesuvius where there was a mile long steep hike to the top which I don't think was written on the excursion detail. The views were worth the hike of course. We then went to the Herculaneum followed by Pompeii which were self guided tours. At each stop we were given a time to meet back at the bus. The Herculaneum drop off location was strange though as it was several blocks away from the entrance instead of taking us to the bus lot. We did not have nearly enough time at Pompeii to see even the highlights. I think in total we walked 8 miles. Lunch is not provided on the tour but there was a pizza shop next to the tour company place at Pompeii. The bus was late picking us up from Pompeii making the connection back to the cruise port very tight. This excursion is good for those just looking for transportation between these areas.
It was a lot for one day. The tour-provided audio guide for Herculaneum reference numbers didn’t match the site’s numbers. The names didn’t translate easily either. So I felt like I missed a LOT there.
Was a very good tour. No need to pay extra to get into the sights like others do, so all round worth the money!
Doing all 3 big sites was great to get them all done. Climbing Vesuvio first was best way to go, too strenuous and hot later in day. Covered most of Herculenium in 2 hours given but the 2.5 for Pompeii was too short. I would probably do Vesuvio and Herculaneum one day and allow a full day for Pompeii if we come back.
The mountain, what else? And Herculaneum, off-course! That was my 2nd visit to the Pompei site, it was well worth it I liked the 3 sites schedule & if you dont have a car do this! Be sure to load up on some knowledge on what you are about to see though, It is self guided!
Going up the Vésuve was a great challenge but rewarding. Herculaneum and Pompei are great learning experience.
Very tightly organized to see Vesuvius, pompei and Hervulaneum in 1 day. Perfect for when you don't have a lot of time.
