Discover Naples: Guided 3-hour Walking Tour Through Naples’ Heart

We participated in the 3 hour walking tour of Naples. Our guide was Paola and she was fantastic. Paola was knowledgeable about the area and provided many personal culture references. She was easy to follow and understand. Plus she was accommodating to those who had to leave early and gave us restaurant recommendations after the tour was over. We would highly recommend this tour.

Paola was a fantastic guide. A very informative and entertaining tour. Even the rain didn’t dampen our spirits.

People make the experience, and Josephine was exceptional. She was our guide on a walk around Naples in very poor weather, with heavy rain. The conditions made it difficult to enjoy the city fully, but she still made sure the tour went ahead. She was extremely knowledgeable, having studied , and her English was excellent.

Paola was a wonderful guide. She was knowledgeable, fun and very interesting. Being born and bred in Naples she made the tour quite personal which was a real bonus. Would definitely recommend this tour. I feel like I know so much more about Naples than I did before this experience

Vincenzo was very friendly and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable about the city. My grandmother was with us and had to take a bit of extra time in places and he was very accommodating. He stayed extra time with us to help find a place to eat and give other recommendations. You get to experience historic and newer areas.

Great tour with Francesco. We wondered if 3 hours would be too much in the heat but Francesco ensured we kept cool and entertained at all times. He drilled down into so many fascinating insights of the city but always with warmth and humour. We all loved him!

Good to learn about Naples history, but this tour lacks visiting the main attractions. As a suggestion, try and visit the subterranean Naples instead.

Watch out for the cars and motorbikes! The walking tour of Naples was a fun and essential experience. I love learning the history of an ancient city from a local guide. However, as you wander and look at the architecture, you better look out for the traffic, as well. The streets of Naples are very narrow and filled with pedestrian traffic, even in the off-season, but the local drivers don't seem to mind the crowd as they race through these lanes, barely missing their human targets...somehow. I will admit that I did not witness a single accident, but there were probably some soiled undergarments as tourists scrambled out of the way of the occasional flash of a motorcycle. And I was in a taxi as it moved through a crowded street, the human mass moving around it as if they were a single fluid object. So when you go, hang on to the kids and stay alert for the motorized dangers as you play this Human version of "Frogger". The truth is, the danger made the tour a little more interesting.

We spent a couple of days in Naples and we decided to book the 3 hour walking tour through Naple and it was the best idea ever. Our guide Manuela, a typical Neapolitan woman who is beautiful, sociable, cheerful, friendly, and above all very knowledgeable, showed us all the most beautiful and characteristic sights to see when visiting Naples. We made the most of the three hours available to us in a very relaxed and enjoyable way, and I would definitely recommend her.

Manuela’s knowledge of what we were seeing was deep. In addition she shared local customs and information about her own life. A plus was Manuela’s warm and joyful personality. After traveling for many years on our own, for the last sixteen years we have taken tours and additionally add on tour to our tours. We have never had a better private guide than Manuela.

As a solo female traveler in Naples Italy, I wanted a safe, interesting guide to the city. My guide Federica, through Mondo Guide Private Day Tours, recommended by Rick Steves' ITALY book, was fantastic! Federica was delightful, knowledgeable, flexible. She tailored my walking tour of Naples to include the areas that I requested. She matched my level of activity, and we had a wonderful hike up the hills to an amazing viewpoint of Naples , then back thru the narrow alleys of the Spanish Quarter. During our tour, she shared many insights into Southern Italian culture and food- because she is a local native of Naples! Mafalda was full of interesting information about the historical area of Naples. She is very energetic and communicates in excellent English.

We truly enjoyed our walking tour of Naples with Mafalda! We’ve done many excursions throughout southern Europe, and this one ranks at the top! First, Naples itself is such a fascinating place – from its history to its food, culture and art – and Mafalda showed and explained many facets of it that we probably would not have discovered on our own. Also, the pace of the tour was just right. We even had time to explore a neighborhood on our own after Mafalda gave some recommendations. Very helpful and enthusiastic!

The guide was on time. She set a reasonable pace. The age range 16-73. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Very enthusiastic.

This was a really interesting tour - learning about the history of Naples with a good dose of humour 👍

We booked a full day tour with Mondo Tours where we took the early train from Florence, then were met at the train station by driver Michele and tour guide Andrea. First we went to the Archaelogical Museum where Andrea whisked us to the highlights and put everything in context. After that, we got Neapolitan pizza. After finishing that we went on our walking tour where we saw several cathedral including Naples Cathedral. We also learned about Maradona, stopped for dessert, stopped for coffee, and then went on a boat tour where we saw Naples from the water and were able to swim. After that, Michele took us to where we were staying that night in Sorrento. Both Michele and Andrea were very personal and helpful and helped us get the most out of our jam-packed day in a friendly, relaxed, efficient way.

This was a very good walking tour of Naples and our guide, Francesco, gave us so much information on the history of Naples. He especially concentrated on the Greek history and I really enjoyed that. This tour left from the Archaeological Museum which was convenient if you wanted to spend time in the museum before the tour. We would recommend this walking tour for a great history overview of Naples.

We very much enjoyed our tour with Francesco. We had many interesting conversations and he never grew tired of the many questions we asked. In fact, we had such a good time, we spent another hour after the end of the tour discussing Italian life and politics with Francesco. We not only learned about the interesting history and architecture of Naples, but we learned about the peoples of Naples and more generally of Italy. It was a great extra and we all had an enjoyable time, including (I think) Francesco.

This our turned out to be much more than I expected. Naples can be overwhelming, and a challenge to see beyond everything that’s going on around you. This is a very special company, and I’ve already recommended them to many of my friends who have also visited Italy or are currently planning trips. Naples is an amazing city and Francesco is an amazingly knowledgeable guide . My sole regret is that I did not take his advice and do the two underground tours of Naples but thats for next time

My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much. It was the highlight of our trip to Napoli. Francesco was very engaging and knowledgeable about the people and history of Napoli. We loved Francesco!!! We’ve been on many tours and he is our favorite so far. He loves his city but can also see the city through others eyes. Francesco made it possible to take some of the rough edges off. In addition, he was very open to helping us find a good restaurant for dinner. (Also the best pizza we have had in Italy.) I would hire him to accompany us every day if we could.
