Sorrento is a town overlooking the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. A popular tourist destination due to its variety of small antique shops and location on the Amalfi Coast, it can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii as it is at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town is most known for its small shops selling ceramics, lacework and marquetry (woodwork). The Sorrentine Peninsula has views of Naples, Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. The Amalfi Drive, connecting Sorrento and Amalfi, is a narrow road that threads along the high cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea. The was our second shore excursion with Rome In Limo. We did the tour Positano, Sorrento and Pizza School. We also added in Olive Oil tasting. We booked directly with them and communication was excellent in deciding what we wanted to do on our port stop. Our driver Max picked us up at the port. We drove to Positano and did some sight seeing and shopping. Next stop in Sorrento. Shopping in town and then on to Pizza School. This was the highlight of our day! Claudio was a chef and entertainer. Afterwards, we did some olive oil tasting and back to port in plenty of time. Note - if you book more than one tour with this company they do give you a discount. Highly recommend Rome in Limo!

This was our third experience with Rome in Limo over the past 10 years, and once again they exceeded our expectations. Our first experience was when we joined a tour that someone else had arranged. We were so impressed with the professionalism that we booked them ourselves for a return trip to Italy in 2016. Although the arrivals area was very crowded, he quickly found me after sending him a photo. The Mercedes van was spotless, air-conditioned, and very comfortable. The drive to Civitavecchia was smooth, and I arrived relaxed after a long international flight. Naples Shore Excursion – Pompeii & Sorrento: Because our cruise ship's port call was changed from Salerno to Naples due to port construction, I contacted Rome in Limo. They immediately adjusted our pickup location without any problems. Their flexibility and excellent communication eliminated what could have been a stressful situation. Our driver, Alex, was outstanding—professional, personable, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We also had a guided tour of Pompeii with Mario, whose enthusiasm and knowledge brought the ancient city to life. My family just returned from a Mediterranean cruise and used Rome in Limo for three different ports. Rome in Limo truly made all the difference with maximizing the limited time we had at each stop. This was my husband and daughters' (9 and 12) first time in Italy, and I wanted to make sure they saw as much as possible. Everything was seamless. My contact, Jany, was prompt in responses, was very detailed, and answered all my questions. Our first port was La Spezia. We met our driver, Alessandro, outside the terminal and did the Florence and Pisa tour. Alessandro was friendly and made sure that we hit all the important spots of Florence. He got us over to Pisa and back to the boat in time. Next, Peter picked us up in Civitavecchia to take us to Rome. Our tour covered the highlights of Rome and the Vatican. I had my doubts if we could get it all done, but Peter succeeded. He knew exactly where to go and how to get there to get us in and out. Due to limited time, we did the 20 minute Arena only visit to the Coliseum, which was enough for us. These tickets sell out quick so I got them online immediately when they were released. We did the 1:00 tour of the Vatican with the private guide recommended by Rome In Limo. She was worth every penny! She was able to go behind the scenes to get us around the museum in two hours. In Naples we were picked up by Fabio for a trip to Sorrento and Positano, followed by Pompeii. Such an amazing day! Fabio shared so much information, took lots of pictures, and took us to an amazing family restaurant with a lovely view. It was our favorite day. I can't recommend Rome in Limo enough. I wish they were available in every country!!!!

We used RomeinLimo and I can't say enough about them! First of all, Jany communicated via of email for months with me. She guided me along the way. We used them to pick up 9 family members and lots of luggage at the airport and drive us to our hotel in Rome. They were there on time holding up signs with our name. Two Mercedes vans. Drivers were polite, friendly and so helpful with luggage. We had 4 kids, 3 adults and 2 seniors. After a few days, we used them again to drive us to Civitavecchia Port to board the Allure of the Seas. Again, the drivers were on time and so very helpful. When we docked in Naples, we booked an excursion to Sorrento and Pompeii. We also took Jany's advice to book a private tour guide in Pompeii. I would highly recommend this also. Our drivers, Mario and Diego went over and beyond. They made a lasting impression on our 12 year old twin grandsons. When Diego noticed my husband walked with a cane, they were able to tweak things to accommodate him. They booked a lunch reservation for us at a fabulous restaurant during our drive. We did another excursion with RomeinLimo in Florence and Pisa. AGAIN, the drivers were there waiting for us when we got off the ship at LaSpezia Port. So accommodating! After fun in Pisa, we drove to Florence - they suggested a place for lunch, which was delicious. Drivers drove to a different location and dropped us a pin, so we didn't have to walk back to where they dropped us off. The last day of our cruise, again the drivers were there before us, waiting and drove us back to the airport. EXCELLENT service!!! I highly recommend!
Spent the day touring with Daniel our driver/tour guide. Stopped by an olive farm, sampled many olive oils, drove along the coast, saw part of the Pompei area.

Perfect experience! Daniel, our driver, was waiting for us right off the boat holding a sign with my name. Was very easy to find. Due to our ship having an early afternoon boarding time, we were limited in what we were able to do. However Daniel suggested we just do Sorrento and Pompeii, and thank God he did. We ended up having about 2 hours in each place. While way too short for a full experience, we still got to enjoy some shopping and pizza in Sorrento before having a couple hours to explore Pompeii. Daniel was full of great advice and local insight, having been born and raised in Italy. If we ever make it back to Italy, Daniel will be our first contact :)
This is the fourth tour we have taken with Rome in Limo. Daniel was our driver and very knowledge on the places we were going. He was so friendly and engaging. He added so much to our excursion and suggested things and places to go. We wanted a local restaurant and Daniel took us to the best . It was a place that makes and sells olive oils, vinegars and other items. But the best part was the upstairs restaurant overlooking Mt. Vesuvius. Mario was the wine expert and as we enjoyed the wonderful food , Mario brought out different wines that went with the selection of dishes served. Then we went to Pompeii where Daniel set up a tour guide (highly recommended) for us. The whole tour was amazing but the help that Daniel added made it the best it could be. Thank you Daniel.
We were on a cruise that went to port in Sorrento. We wanted a special day in and around Pompei. This is a deluxe tour company suggested by a friend. The communication in advance of the tour is very professional. We had a great tour of Pompeii by Francesco who brought the ruins alive. We had a fabulous lunch at our tour guide’s recommendation. Our tour guide and host for the day, Daniel, was super fantastic and a perfect host. A number 1! We can’t thank him enough for a perfect experience he arranged for us and helped us to enjoy.
Fantastic experience. We did the three port package for cruise ship passengers which covered Florence, Rome and Naples. Being picked up at the cruise ports and taken directly to the attractions was a perfect way to spend our days. Our drivers in Rome and Naples were wonderful, with Naples being our favorite day of the trip. We saw Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii and it was perfect! If you are doing Pompeii, make sure to get the private guide. Worth every single penny and it made us enjoy our time more than we thought we would. I can’t say enough great things about Jany. Professional, courteous and very helpful. We were recommended to use Lucia in Rome for all of our tickets (Vatican, Pantheon and Colosseum) and Lucia was amazing as well. We definately highly recommended this company, Rome in Limo. We took two days tour in Pisa/Florence and pompeii, sorrento and Napoli. The driver was Anthony. He was from Pisa. He could explain to us about the history of Pisa and Florence. The weather was pouring. Anthony parked the car not far from where he dropped us so we didn't get wet when it was heavily pouring. The next day we went to sorrento, positano, and pompeii. The driver was Johny. He was from sorrento. He explained to us well about the town. He brought us to local food in sorrento. This restaurant must visit. The pizza was the best pizza that i have never tried. Both of Johny and Anthony were very caring driver. They made sure we were safe. Thanks Jany who helped me booking these trips. She answered my question very quick. This company made our trip worry free. We will be sure going to re hire them when we come to visit sorrento in the near future.
We had the best day with Maria (aka JLo!) She was amazing & took us to the best spots for shopping, dining & photo ops! Absolutely amazing and stress-free trip! Our tour guide Giovanni made us feel welcome and safe. He provided relevant information about the history of the places we visited, and went out of his way to take us to shops and restaurants less traveled by. In Positano, he took us to a restaurant and spoke to the staff that treated us like celebrities. If you want a trip that is stress-free, avoids the usual tourist traps, and has a guide that has your best interest in mind, then do not hesitate to sign up with this company! We also used them to tour Sicily, and Luca, our guide there, gave us the same exact caliber experience. He went so far as to stop in a local pastry shop and order cannolis for my family which I honestly have to say put the ones I have had in New York to shame!

Fantastic experience all around with Rome In Limo. We used them for a private tour in Rome while on a Med cruise in 2014. After such a wonderful experience back then, we knew they were who we wanted to book with while on our 2023 cruise. I booked a private tour of Positano, Sorrento, and Pompei. All communication was prompt, responsive, and courteous - thank you, Jany! Alex was our driver for the day and we was great! He lives locally and is so knowledgeable and passionate about the area. We met Alex right outside the cruise port in Naples and headed to Positano first to try and beat the crowds. He stopped a few times along the way at overlooks so we could get some great family photos. We had about an hour in Positano on our own. Next, we headed to Sorrento. We had about 1 1/2-2 hours on our own there and Alex gave us a great recommendation for a sit down lunch spot - fantastic pizza, pasta, and caprese! Our last stop was Pompei, where we had arranged through RIL to have a private guide, Rosemary, who took us through the ruins. I definitely recommend paying the extra $ to get the guide in Pompei so you know where to go and really get to learn about the history. Alex got us back to the ship with ample time before the all aboard call and he even gave us a bottle of limoncello. Great experience - highly recommend!
We had a great trip with Maria. We were able to tweak our agenda and we started the day in Positano which was great as we were able to miss some of the major traffic on the Amalfi Coast. We then made our way to Sorrento where Maria showed us around and found the BEST pizza we have ever had. Given our desire to see the towns we opted to skip Pompei which was a better choice for our family. Everything was just right and made for a memorable day.
On May 24, 2023, We did Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius and Sorrento Tour. Alex was our driver. Alex was able to adjust our tour because of traffic to make the most of our time and make our trip more enjoyable! We had a private tour guide for Pompeii, Rosemary. She was very knowledgeable and made our tour much more interesting. She was well worth the extra money we paid to have a private guide. At the end of our day, Alex, our driver surprised us with a gift of a bottle of Limoncello! We were blown away at his kindness! All in All, I can't say enough good things about Rome in Limo! I would absolutely use them again in the future!

Rome in Limo was awesome, driver was on time friendly and helpful with getting us from site to site, he even took is to a really nice restaurant for lunch. Our experience with Rome in Limo was top notch from start to finish. Jany in the office was extremely helpful in making our booking and answering our questions. When we got off the ship in Naples, Giovanni was there waiting for our party of eight. Giovanni was extremely friendly and made us feel at ease right away. He knew some great spots to pull over for photos and gave us a good introduction to the area. We enjoyed our stops in Sorrento and Positano, and Giovanni recommended a restaurant in Positano with a phenomenal view. Our third stop was Pompeii, where we got a guided tour from Rosemary. Rosemary was very engaging and informative. Giovanni got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. The whole experience was wonderful, much more engaging and affordable than the large organized shore excursions offered by the cruise ship. I would highly recommend Rome In Limo to anyone looking for personalized small group tours!
Our driver was very prompt, the vehicle was very clean and comfortable and our guide was great about taking us to the best spots that wouldn’t be as populated with tourists so we could get great pictures. I definitely recommend!
We booked 2 day trips with Romeinlimo and they where both AWESOME! The drivers (Franchesco & Vinny) were very professional. They were punctual. They spoke English very well. We were on a European cruise on Norwegian Epic and decided to book our tours with an independent company rather than through the ship and that's how we found Rome in Limo. Our main concern was making sure that we got to the ship on time and they assured us that if we did what the driver said that we would not have any problems. We decided to go ahead and book and booked the three port package (Naples, Rome and Florence) which was much cheaper than booking through the ship. We are so happy that we did. Our driver Alex was there when we got off the ship and took us to Positano, where we had the opportunity to walk down to the beach and the shops (this would not have been possible on the a large tour bus, as we understood buses are not allowed down into Positano). He then took us to Sorrento where we had an opportunity to walk around and had lunch at La Basilica, a restaurant that he recommended. The food was fantastic however the service was a bit slow because a tour bus came while we were there and it didn't appear that they were staffed properly to handle all the people. He then took as to Ponpeii where we met up with our guide Rosemary (additional fee) who took as through. She was amazing, so much knowledge and really added to our experience much more so than had we gone on our own. The other thing that we especially liked was that the tour was private for just the 4 of us (two couples). We had the more flexibility in terms of where to go and how long to stay than we would have if we were on a bus with a lot of people. As I said, we used them for our other ports and had the same experience. Luciano in Rome again was amazing and made sure we saw all of the sites, coliseum, trevi fountain, Vatican etc. Again we had a guide in the Vatican, Barbara who was also extremely knowledgeable and able to get us through the lines and crowds. He joined us for lunch at Trattoria Luigi, his recommendation and again we were not disappointed with his recommendations of both the restaurant and the food choices. In Florence our driver was Mauro and he too did not disappoint. Too bad he could not have done something about the rain!! Our overall experience with Rome In Limo was fantastic and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. As a matter of fact I already have as well as to our travel agent.
Constantine was an amazing guide! The 4 of us that went on the excursion all agreed that this was one of our favorite experiences. Constantine also got us a guide for Pompeii and she was amazing as well. I would highly recommend this excursion. I really don’t know how it could have been better.
Alex picked the 5 of us (Adult friends) up at our hotel in Naples, and drove up the mountainous road to Bomerano, where we hiked the Path of Gods. When we were done with the hike (more strenuous than we thought), Alex was thankfully waiting in Nocelle with plenty of water and cool AC in the car. On Alex's recommendation, we then stopped at a lovely family restaurant (da Costantino) set high above Positano. This stop was just what we needed at this time: the owner took care of everything, and we just sat and enjoyed. The bruscetta and the homemade lemoncello were among the highlights, but the entire meal was fresh and fantastic. After lunch, Alex took us to Sorrento -- one of the highlights of our 2-week trip. After a short tour around the town, we walked through the shops and restaurants. Overall, Alex was entertaining, funny, flexible and provided a full day of enjoyment. We would highly recommend Rome In Limo.

We can’t thank Alessandre enough for such a wonderful day in Naples. He picked us up promptly with a huge smile on his face, whisked us off to Sorrento for some shopping and a quick latte. We had been to Naples before so we kind of adjusted our tour to our own desire. Alessandre was very knowledgeable, really friendly, and by the end of the tour he was like a friend of the family that we were just visiting. He was very helpful with my elderly parents, and took us to Vesuvius cantina and winery for lunch and a wine tasting. A must for any visitor, as it was a nice break in the day after Pompei tour. The great thing about Rome in Limo is that they are able to get you closer to the pertinent sites than a tour bus could ever do. But more importantly, they are so professional and personal. I recommend requesting Alessandre as he was perfect. Love this company as we used them for all 3 stops on our cruise. Do it!!! You won’t regret it.
We had a very positive experience using Rome in Limo tours at 3 cities during our 7 day Mediterranean 3 cruise. The drivers and cars provided were excellent. Drivers were personable and knowledgeable and efficient in getting us around given the limited time we had at each porch. Also much cheaper for our group of 7 to use a private car and driver than book the cruise excursions (which would also have been on a large tour with other random cruise travelers)
From the time of booking with Jany to the time of the excursions, everything went smoothly and as planned. The drivers/guides were excellent! We actually did 2 excursions with them while being on a 7 day cruise. I highly recommend this company.
Our tour guide Vince and driver Salvatore were great. The views and history involved with this tour are awe inspiring. We highly recommend it. We felt very taken care of and the information that Vince provided kept it very interesting. You can’t go wrong with this tour.

I planned this excursion to get away from the large cruise ship excursions. This was much more economical and was able to get us down into the small towns of Positano and Sorrento. We arranged a private guide in Pompeii with their advice and it was worth every penny! Such a great day with fantastic memories
We were on a shore excursion from our cruise ship that took us along the Amalfi Coast from Naples to Sorrento and Positano. Our driver was very helpful and informative and allowed us to have several stops for pictures and views and took us to an excellent restaurant in Positano with a beautiful panoramic view. He then took us to Pompeii were our guide Lucia took us through the history of Pompeii through a archeological perspective. It was a great, albeit hot day, but it was well worth the visit. We highly recommend Rome in Limo!
Our guide in Naoples was great, Alex. Alex met us at the train carried my wives luggage took as to Pompei and all around naples including a stop at a winery for a great lunch and wine tasting. He then took us back to the train station, helped again with the luggage and made sure we got to the correct train. Alex was great, he knew his city and took us to great spots to get different views of Naples and Sorrento.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Amalfi Coast trip (finishing with Pompeii) and although we initially had thoughts it was pricey for us, ended our day knowing it was the ONLY way to see that part of the coast. Our driver Enrico was knowledgeable, entertaining and gave us and our three young adult children (in their early twenties) a really authentic day - Italian tunes in the car, excellent recommendations for eating and shopping in Sorrento - great oversight into the history of the area and its produce and specialties. He knew the best routes to avoid traffic and delays and we really felt we saw and got the most out of our only day in this area. HIGHLY recommended.
What an awesome day!! We were stressed because the authorities delayed letting everyone off the cruise ship for 2 hours in the morning. Our driver/guide had been waiting there for 3 hours but was so friendly and accommodating, still giving us our original tour length for no additional charge!! We appreciated that so much! What an amazing day. We heard from some other people that their tours were a bit disappointing but we had no complaints - just the opposite! We had such a good day. Unlike on other tours we booked, our driver (whose name I've forgotten unfortunately!!!) also acted as a guide which was so appreciated. He arranged our day to avoid the traffic that so many others had to sit in. He also arranged an amazing tour guide for us in Pompeii (Once Upon a Time Pompeii - Mariachiara). Overall an awesome experience and I would definitely use Rome in Limo in the future.
