Authentic Neapolitan Cooking Class In Naples With A Local Family

Emanuela and her family were fantastic! We visited local markets and learned about local cuisine before returning to her beautiful home to make our dinner. It was well organized and perfect for our group!

We had the most wonderful experience with Emanuela and Maurizio! I originally booked this cooking class for my mom and myself, as we are the cooks in the family. Later, I decided to book it again for my dad and wife so they could enjoy the experience as well. My wife has celiac disease, and I didn’t want to impose on Emanuela by asking her to purchase special gluten-free ingredients, so my wife initially planned to attend without eating. However, Emanuela happened to have several gluten-free ingredients on hand, allowing my wife to enjoy the entire experience, including both cooking and eating! If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, just let Emanuela know far enough in advance so she can accommodate your needs. Emanuela and Maurizio’s beautiful home sits on a hill with a patio overlooking the city and Mount Vesuvius. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Emanuela was a fantastic instructor, and we had such a great time learning the art of making fresh pasta and tiramisu. We prepared two pasta dishes, one featuring ravioli and the other scialatielli, and both were absolutely delicious! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. It will undoubtedly become one of your favorite memories from your trip, and you’ll leave with the skills to make authentic Italian food at home. In fact, I made the tiramisu and scialatielli as soon as I returned home! Thank you, Emanuela, for such a wonderful and memorable experience. My girlfriend found this amazing experience for us and I would pay double for half the amazing evening that we had. Emanuela was more than kind to us, buying us sweet treats and sharing the history of Napoli with us. The food we made was amazing and we had so much fun laughing with her and her husband! They made us feel like family. I hope to see her again on future adventures!

We had a wonderful experience cooking with Emanuela and Maurice. We started out on their patio where they talked about the history of Naples. We then went into the kitchen and made 3 dishes from scratch. Our entire family (included 2 teenage boys) really enjoyed the experience. It was our favorite activity in Naples.

Emanuela was warm, welcoming and made us welcome immediately, even before we met her! Maurizio picked us up from our hotel and drove us to her beautiful apartment overlooking Naples. Food was delicious and the company was better. Highly recommend.

We are 4 Canadians who wanted an upscale, authentic and out of the ordinary Napolitan cooking class. Oh boy, were we lucky to find this absolutely wonderful class! Emmanuella and her husband Maurizio welcomed us in their amazing home overlooking the bay of Napoli, and we were given the cooking class. We made ravioli and lasagna that we later ate on the terrace, paired with their homemade wine. They are original Napolitanians, generous, passionate about their city, culture and cuisine. Truly amazing experience!!!

One of the highlights of our trip to Naples was the wonderful cooking class that we took with Emanuela. Even before we started cooking she was fantastic. She was able to sort out a private transfer for us for the cooking class, send us updates on where we needed to go and be, provide us with very clear instructions on how to get to her and generally make the whole experience very easy for us. Emanuela brought so much personal touch to our cooking class! We have family from Torre del Greco and it was really nice to feel so connected to our roots through this experience. We chose the menu together (homemade pasta, bruschetta, eggplant parmigiana and dessert) and she was super nice and very helpful throughout the day. At the end she even made us some pasta e patate for us to taste and for her to show us how to make. Emanuela wants her guests to be happy and that is the reason for her being such a good host. The cooking class wasn't like other activities on the site, we didn't feel like tourists visiting Emanuela in her house but she was teaching us her family's recipes from her culture, the culture she loves to share with other people. This was the magical and authentic experience tourists dream of having in Naples. The hospitality and generosity of having strangers into your home after a beautiful market tour so you can share the making and eating of a meal in spectacular surrounds is idyllic. The food is either fresh from the market or fresh from their garden and I will remember eating hand made pasta I made on their verandah in front of Mt Versuvius for the rest of my life.

This was one of the most unique and best experiences I have had through Viator. Sitting on a balcony eating fresh pasta I had made with an extraordinary view of Mt Versuvius was pure magic. It started with a walk through the market to buy ingredients - the hosts are locals who have lived in Naples for most of their lives, raised their family here, they understand the streets and shops and views in ways that feel special and unique. We left so full of food at the end and had learned so much about authentic cuisine. The herbs and ingredients are either fresh from the market or fresh from their garden, I learned a lot about culture, food and just how to live a better life from this experience.

We started our tour at the downtown market providing the opportunity to purchase fresh items for the menu and to obtain a bit of history of the market. The cooking class is in her exquisite private residence and equally stunning view of Naples. In contrast to the other cooking experiences where a fixed menu is in place and guests proceed with only the items on the menu, Emanuela is completely flexible and allows the guests to determine the cooking menu based on their preferences. We discussed the menu options in advance of the class and proceeded with a full 'hands on' experience from appetizers, main meal and dessert. Wine and their own brand of limoncello added to a full and delightful afternoon. Truly a unique experience and not to be missed if in Naples.

Emanuela and Mauricio are truly the most gracious people. They arranged for their good friend Eugenio to take us from the port of Naples to their home in the heights. If you have ever experienced Naples traffic you know how important it is to have a good driver. Emanuala explained all the aspects and history of Italian cooking and guided us through the process. Best ingredients...freshness and how to spice and add accents. They shared their family wine and limoncello. We met as friends but parted as family.

Emanuela and Maurizio gave us a perfect ending to our 14 night Mediterranean cruise. It all started with a pickup at the cruise port taking us to a great tour of a Napoli market. Fresh ingredients for our class were purchased and we ascended high above Naples for a breathtaking location for our cooking class and dinner. Every aspect of this experience exceeded our expectations and proved to be one of the main highlights of our cruise. What an amazing experience! I have always wanted to do a cooking class in a locals home and we could not have chosen a better host. Emanuela was magnificent! She has a beautiful home overlooking Naples and the Sea. She not only taught us how to make the most amazing pasta and Tiramisu, but shared with us her knowledge of the area. She even arranged for her boyfriend Maurizio and a friend to pick us up at the port, drive us around town a bit, and stop at some beautiful viewpoints for photos on the way to her home. Maurizio was also a gracious host and assistant to Emanuela. He served us wine and assisted Emanuela throughout the entire class. It was an honor to meet them, learn from them, and be welcomed into their home for the afternoon.

Honestly this experience was a highlight of our 14 day trip through Italy. Our Hosts Emanuela and Maurizio were the best. Graciously inviting us into their home ( that is gorgeous with stunning views) we had so much fun. I cook a lot at home but I learned so much and enjoyed every minute.,We made Tiramisu, Pumpkin Pasta, and Raviolis from scratch and had a blast. We met at the marketplace where we shopped for our food and got a tour and history of the area. It’s way more than a cooking class. Not to be missed!

We did not know what to expect but the whole event far exceeded my expectations. We started with a tour of the market in Naples where we bought some of the goods for our meal. We then went to Emanuela’s home where we were thought how to cook. She showed us how to make pasta con zucca which was my idea and RaviolisThe Raviolis were made from scratch. We made the dough and she showed us how to make the sauce and cook them. We also made tiramisu from scratch too. Her apartment was beautiful and in a great location in Naples. Has a great patio to eat outside with terrific views. Her friend Maurizio helped us navigate around Naples and the Amalfi coast. I would definitely do another cooking class with her again in the future

Emanuela and Maurizio are very nice and welcoming. Their apartment is so cozy, and the view from the terrace is absolutely gorgeous. Under Emanuela's guidance, we prepared three local dishes: meatballs, Neapolitan-style broccoli, and fresh pasta. Everything was very delicious, and the recipes were simple enough, so the Neapolitan flavor is easy to recreate at home. Emanuela was very attentive to our allergies and suggested dishes that suited us, although it wasn't easy. We'd love to come back again, as it was like visiting beloved relatives. Highly recommended!

Wow, this experience has been one of the best in a long time. We went to Emanuela‘s beautiful home to cook an authentic amazing meal and I couldn’t be happier that our first host cancelled on us last minute and she offered to do the class with us. Her home has a mind blowing terrace with an incredible view of the Napoli bay, as well as Vesuvius. The menu Emanuela suggested was simple, authentic and we predominantly used ingredients, which she is growing on her terrace! So amazing. She told us a lot about Napoli‘s history and explained the city to us and then we started washing Ang chopping vegetable on the terrace before moving into the kitchen to make some pesto, fresh pasta, tiramisu and eggplant rolls. Her partner was so delightful as well and kept serving us organic wine that his family cultivates. They showed us an amazing time and were the perfect hosts. We loved every minute we spent in their gorgeous home and didn’t want to leave in the end haha All in all, I will ALWAYS go back to her when I’m in Naples and I will definitely do a cooking class with Emanuela again, as soon as I can. I travel a lot around the world and do a lot of activities and tours but I have to say.. this was probably the best thing I have done in a very long time! Love love love and what incredible people they are. They made us feel special and treated us like royals. It‘s a must do for an experience for away from the tourist traps. Highly recommended!!!

This was definitely the highlight of our trip. Emanuela was fantastic—she’s like the Italian aunt you never had but always dreamed of. We started with a tour of the local market, where she introduced us to various local delicacies and shared fascinating insights. Then we drove to her home, which has stunning views and is both authentic and charming. We made pizza and pasta from scratch, and she constantly engaged my 11-year-old son throughout the experience. We also prepared tiramisu and she taught me how to make a sauce—hands down, the best sauce I’ve ever made. She even followed up by sending us all the recipes we made that day, which was incredibly thoughtful. This was, without question, the best experience we had in Italy. After we made the reservation, Emanuela contacted us to ensure we knew how to get to her home, offering several options for transportation. Once there, she was such a gracious hostess, making the entire family feel welcome, and a great conversationalist, able to talk comfortably with several different-aged English speakers. The meal was delicious, and enjoying it in her beautiful home and patio garden with stunning views of the city, of Vesuvius and the bay, made this evening the highlight of our trip to Naples. When the evening was done, she ensured our trip back to our hotel in Central Naples was efficient and comfortable, and followed-up by sending us the recipes for the pastas and tiramisu we made. This was a beautiful and memorable evening in Naples.

Our hostess arranged transport to and from our hotel and gave us a nice tour of the city. She adapted the cooking class to my son’s food allergies and enthusiastically answered all of the kids questions. The food was delicious and atmosphere was amazing.

Me, my wife and 2 adult children attended this with Emanuela on June 13, 2025. This was a fabulous day. We arrived at Emanuela's home. Getting there was a little confusing, but our driver called her and we got there on time. Her house is beautiful. She welcomed us in like we were neighbors. She started with a history of Napoli. She pointed out important and beautiful landmarks that we could see from the balcony. The view was very picturesque. It was remarkable. Her balcony is very large and we had a beautiful table set for us. She grows basil, thyme, rosemary on her balcony. Beautiful flowers, music and weather added to this wonderful day. Emanuela told us about the history of her family and her life and we were given a first hand experience into the Napoli culture. Her husband was also present to help serve. Despite the language barrier, he was a great guy. We joked and laughed. The cooking experience was one of a kind and wonderful. We made calzones, pizzas and tiramisu. Be prepared, this is NOT like USA pizza and calzone. Very fresh ingredients and just a wonderful display of hospitality. Emanuela gave us the recipes afterwards. The whole experience was absolutely incredible. My sons are 26 and 22 and are still talking about what a great experience it was! Thank you Emanuela.

Not only we did learn to make three kinds of pizza and tiramisu (and of course eat it), we also had some homemade wine and limoncello and got to enjoy the most beautiful view of Naples from their lovely patio. We then were welcomed into her lovely home and she proceeded to show is how to make some of the most amazing food we had our entire trip. Very well cared for lovely evening. Emanuela had already spoiled us with delicious homemade snacks and prosecco before we started working ourselves. Then 3 authentic dishes homemade and delicious again eaten with a local wine and views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Location by public transport a bit harder to reach but eventually solved well by taking us to metro Quattro giornate, very sweet. Top night!

We celebrated my dear uncles of Naples ,70 aa The legendary Manuela and her collaborators have made this event unique, wonderful Care in the presentation of courses, cold and hot typical appetizers. Parmigiana, mozzarella, fritters at the top Lasagna zucchini provola topppp Breathtaking view So we had lunch in 37 in this beautiful house with better service than a restaurant but atmosphere of a house of friends. Gorgeous Manuela with your husband and your staff! We will definitely return
