Amalfi Coast Small-group Or Private Tour With Boat Option

Excellent tour. Started and ended in Salerno. Tour Guide Andrea and Driver Dominica were superior at their jobs. Superior information imparted along the entire tour by Andrea..he was the very best. Dominica made sure we were safe and also that we were able to stop at a couple unplanned locations for photo ops. We had a musical serenade on the way back to Solerno. This was one of the very best tours ever and we highly recommend it. A wonderful and superior experience.

The scenery is beautiful but very crowded. We felt like our driver was only there to drive us, nothing more. No history, no commentary on the small towns. We had to ask about where we were, where are the restrooms, could we have some water, etc.

We absolutely loved out tour. Our driver Nicala was great and Ciro our guide was AMAZING!!!!!!Ciro kept us informed and entertained throughout the tour. We had 19 family members in our group, ages 12 through 87, and everyone truly enjoyed our tour through Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii.

We used Mondo Tours for a side trip from Naples to Capri, and our guided tour was worth the price 10-FOLD! We then used Mondo for a second guided tour to the Amalfi Coast two days later. We were met EXACTLY on time at our hotel in Naples, and guided by Edwardo. To an AMAZING day of pointed-out highlights, we were given the free time we needed, which was to walk around on our own, shop, and take time for a snack. Our concern was that the tour might be too detailed, and we wanted free time to just enjoy the beauty of the Coast. It was a perfect combination of both. Doing Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento in 1 day is very manageable with a professional guide. It was a PERFECT day! P.B. and S.B.

Perfect last full day on Italy, our driver/guide Eduardo catered our day to our specific desires. We picked our cities in our order and took his suggestion for a gorgeous view restaurant high above Amalfi.

This trip was wonderful. Small group. The sites were beautiful. Can't wait to come back to the coast. We did this on a day our cruise ship was in Naples.

We kind of chose our own itenirary since we were a small group trip/just us! Spend the extra $ to do this. This is the second time I have used them for this excursion and they are the best. Do limoncello tasting for sure, Poisitano, Ravello and go to Villa Rufolo! Half of my people eres an hour late off the cruise🙄. So we kind of got messed up, but our guide was gracious and made it happen for us!

We had a great trip to the Amalfi coast. Our driver Roberto managed the traffic and tight roadway like a champ pointing out sites along the way. He made recommendations regarding highlights and things to try in each town which enhanced our touring. When he realized we enjoyed trying local foods he kindly made stops along the way allowing us to try fresh made lemon granita, fresh tomatoes and other produce, and a beachside restaurant that made an amazing lemony custard cake (the name of which escapes me but is the best desserts I have had in a long time). We would definitely take another trip with Roberto in the future if we are back in the area.

The views along the Amalfi coast from Naples were breathtaking! We LOVED Roberto!! He was a fantastic guide--pointing out wonderful sites and telling us about the background and history of small churches, the lovely lemon & chestnut trees, and driving us on the amazing scenic route! He even arranged for a visit & tasting at a small lemoncello factory at lemon groves near Ravello. Roberto was very interesting, patient, and informative. We found him to be very charming and easy going---just what we needed! The only suggestion we have is that one hour in Positano is not enough! We would have loved to be in Positano for 90 minutes or more. Ravello was beautiful, Amalfi was too crowded & not so great, but Positano is wonderful!!! We just didn't have enough time! Thank you, Roberto, for a fantastic day!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our tour of the Amalfi Coast. Vincenzo was very nice and a very safe driver which I think is hard in that area. He was also very informative and we enjoyed our tour. He was able to answer all our questions and gave us great information. We would love to travel to that area of Italy again!! When we do we will definitely hire Mondo guide.

Do yourself a favor when visiting Amalfi coast and book a private tour with Mondo Tours. Our group of 10 (including two seniors and two small children) had a wonderful time with our guide Alessandro. He met us at our hotel early and made the most of our time by taking us to scenic spots and local craftsmen in Positano and Sorrento. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Lunch reservations were made at a delicious spot in Sorrento. Alessandro offered a wealth of information on the history and culture of the area. Nicolas, our driver, expertly navigated the windy roads. Passing the lines of people waiting for busses to neighboring towns was more evidence that Mondo private tours are well worth the money.

This is a complicated and difficult tour for a driver/guide, as the drive is exciting and beautiful and the villages wonderful to visit, but the skill of the driver to navigate the turns and traffic is truly amazing. Our MONDOGUIDE driver and vehicle was excellent and we appreciated his experience and flexibility to make our days excursion just what we desired. We highly recommend MONDOGUIDE and no know why Rick Steves recommends there services for all tours in this region. You receive the best of service and value.

Fantastic. All went well. Best way to go to see everything as crowded crowds and buses if trying to do on your own. Driver and guide magnificent. Small number (17) of people in a minivan. Ravello was the standout.

Wow. Hiring Mondo was one of the best travel decisions we’ve made. Vincenzo was our driver for a day touring the Amalfi coast. We rode in a beautiful, comfortable car along this most gorgeous (and a little terrifying!) landscape. Vincenzo was absolutely the best we could have hoped for. First of all, he was a fantastic driver. He did not just zip around the corners. He drove so responsibly and even pulled over a few times to let others go by, so he wouldn’t drive faster than I was comfortable with. He was a fantastic conversationalist. He was kind and sweet and fun and just so enjoyable to be with. A complete professional, but also warm and so comfortable to spend our time in the car with. There is no way I’d be comfortable renting a car and riding with my husband driving, even though he is a great driver. I was so comfortable and confident with Vincenzo driving us, by the end of the day, I was looking happily out the window even when we were driving along sheer drop offs. Vincenzo helped me really enjoy and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of the Amalfi coast. And my husband was so happy to be able to enjoy the view and not have to be watching the road. We were able to stop and explore Positano, Amalfi and Ravello for 1 1/2 hours in each town in order to keep up with the traffic (there’s a lot). We shopped in Positano, ate in Amalfi and enjoyed the views in Ravello. Amalfi was so crowded, it was a bit hard to get a nice lunch and look around for that portion. I might suggest a shorter time in Positano in order to get a little more time in Amalfi, so you can have a nice lunch as well as see the Duomo. But definitely hire Mondo. We used them for this as well as 2 other tours (drivers, as well as Pompeii and the Naples Archeological Museum) and they were all fantastic.

We did a group tour with Mondo of the amalfi coast. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful with information about the history and each town we visited. The driver was excellent in very heavy challenging traffic. We truly enjoyed this memorable experience. Grazie to all for great memories.

I wish I could give a 10 Star rating of my experience with Mondo Guide. I want to extend an extra special thank you to Federica for organizing such an amazing three day trip in southern Italy. Our first day consisted of a private tour of Rovello, Amalfi, and Positano with our tour guide and driver, Giovanni, who was absolutely amazing. He was an excellent tour guide and a wonderful companion. We were all very impressed with his driving skills and how well he spoke English. He made our first day to the Amalfi Coast, Rovello, and Positano very special! Day 2 was a lovely trip to Capri. We began our experience with a private boat ride around the island of Capri. It was truly an amazing adventure! Though the Blue Grotto was closed because of rough waters, the ride around the island was a trip we will never forget. Our private guide, Valerio, was wonderful. He was very charming and knowledgeable. He seemed to know everything about Capri and everyone in Capri. We did so much! It was a wonderful experience! Day 3 was Pompeii and what a magnificent tour that was! Mafalda, our private guide, was more than amazing. She was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She went the perfect pace for our large family group of 22 people. She taught us so much about Pompeii that we all forgot how hot it was because we were so captured by the history and the way she conveyed the information. We all loved that she called us "Family" when she wanted to draw our attention to what she had to show us. It was endearing and made everyone feel included as if she was speaking directly to each one of us personally. I watched other guides interact with their groups and felt that not all had the same level of control over their group as Mafalda had with us, which I feel is what made the day so successful. Two hours was the perfect amount of time for the size group we were, and the heat. If the group was smaller, I would have loved to hear and see more. From Pompeii Gino brought us to Naples. I was very grateful to him for personally driving us around (our tour was to be a walking tour) because, after the morning heat, we (mostly me) were having trouble going to too many places on foot. He was always very attentive and caring. We very much enjoyed our time in Naples with Francisco, our personal guide. He was very attentive and thorough. He had a lovely walking tour planned and I was grateful that he continuously checked in with us on what we wanted to see and do. He was the perfect person to help end our tour. He instinctively knew just how tired we were (from the sweltering heat) and really allowed us to set the pace. I started getting more and more unwell as the day progressed (I thought it was just the heat) and needed to sit often. Francisco was concerned, very gracious and kind, and numerous times expressed his concern for my well-being. Thank you so much Mondo Guide for making our trip so full of wonderful experiences and worry free. It was very easy to tell the love and pride each tour guide has for this country and for the places we toured. It was their love and passion that made us all fall in love with each place, just as much as the beautiful scenery itself did. Each guide seemed truly invested in making us see the beauty of the land, the people, and the culture. Not once did any of them try to commercialize the experience by pointing us toward shopping. They focused on the sights and the history of this amazing country. They mentioned (almost as an afterthought) that if we had an interest there would be time for shopping. To me, that's a 10+ Star Service! We left having a love and passion for each place and for Italy as a whole. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to shar the excellent Mondo Guide experience that we had. On day 1 Giovanni set a very high standard for the quality of experience we should expect (because he was truly amazing) and each guide easily provided the same high standard of service, which I attribute to the love and pride they have for Italy and what we also now share. I can't thank Mondo Guide and Federica, who expertly coordinated all of our tours, enough for making this a lovely family experience. It is easy to see why Rick Steves recommended you so highly! I strongly encourage using Mondo Guide to ensure the highest quality experience you can achieve. I never bother to take the time to post reviews, but I had to make an exception. Our tour with Raffaele as our guide was nothing less than WONDERFUL.. Not only did he expertly navigate the insane traffic of Naples, he just as expertly navigated the crazy, winding roads along the Amlafi coast. And he taught us SO much about everything we were seeing as we went. And to add to that, he treated us like family. His warm, friendly personality really gave us a good feeling for southern Italy and it's people. We are very thankful to Mondo guide and Raffaele for such an amazing experience. Very highly recommended !

We loved this experience SO much! Our driver, Robert was so informative and made the trip so wonderful. We felt we saw so much and would do it again in a heart beat! We were so thankful that we didnt have to plan the logisitics of the trip and it was already handled. Antonio was a perfect driver! Polite, personable, always on time and pointed out points of interest that we might have missed. We especially love where he brought us to in Ravello for lunch. He is a very calm and relaxed driver, and made us feel like we were in very good hands for the day. I like to think I'm a good driver, but the drive was especially challenging, and we would have missed so much if I was worried about the tiny, curvy roads and traffic. A fabulous experience to a breathtaking area!

We had a wonderful day exploring the Amalfi Coast with Giovanni! Van was spotless and comfortable and we had just enough time to get a taste of each town along the way. Our guide, Rino, was kind, helpful, and informative, and stopped at multiple viewpoints, everything we’d hope for in a driver. We had an hour + to explore each town and we’re able to adventure, shop, and see all that we hoped. We would certainly recommend the tour to anyone interested in exploring the Amalfi Coast!

One of the best excursions I have done in Italy. Mafalda our tour guide is very knowledgeable. She knows both important salient points and the trivial information that would satisfy your curiosity. She's also very patient. Love our bus driver Danielle as well. Definitely knows how to navigate the zigzag way down the Amalfi coast. Also knows the best parking that will accommodate guests of all ages. I highly recommend this tour without any reservation.

We had a marvelous time! I cannot think of anything that could have been any better! The ride was quite comfortable. The driver did an excellent job of narrating the route. The pickup and drop off locations were perfect. Ravello was my favorite stop- absolutely gorgeous! When I return I will book with you again!

I can’t hear what the driver Paolo is saying due to the loud air conditioning in the back. I contacted Frederica at the company’s office who said she would fix this with the driver, but this did not happen . At any rate, Paolo’s English is at the level of Naple’s taxi driver, which is to say that it is barely passable getting you from one place to another, but that’s about it. He is not able to explain most of the things we saw, so this is not so much a tour; it is more like a glorified taxi ride. The driver also did NOT take us to the port in the end as indicated at the pages of your program — instead he dropped us off at central station. It wasn’t even just me , an American couple in front of him even asked him directly which direction it was to the port and he went into a speech about how it is better to drop off at the central station as it is closed to everything, and then he proceeded to show the American couple where the port is by pointing his finger in the direction of the port. The older couple who sat next to me also asked him how to go to the port, as he does not want to take us there. I would not recommend this tour . With the amount of money paid, you could just take the hydrofoil from Naples to all the different destinations yourself — you would see the exact same things, with no explanations, and still have money left for a good meal or two.

We did a tour of Herculaneum with Luca that was excellent-very interesting! We also did the Amalfi Coast with Mirko as our driver-also excellent!

This is the way to see the Amalfi Coast if you don't want to drive--and you shouldn't want to drive!! Roberto was professional, informative and an excellent driver on this very challenging road. There was time to spend in each of the three delightful villages during the drive: Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. For a beautiful and relaxing day tour, I would highly recommend it.

The tour was good and the towns were beautiful. We only had an hour in Positano and Almalfi. Two on the third stop. I Wish we had more time but it’s a perfect tour to see the three in a single day.

Best day trip of our lives!! We were picked up promptly from our cruise ship and brought to the Naples port and were immediately greeted with our captain! He was so knowledgeable and made lots of stops into the caves/grottos of Capri! What talent! Very narrow caves he Navigates backwards to give us the best view! Ohmygosh it was AMAZING!! Next we traveled to Positano and spent some time on the beach and shopped. Our last stop was at an incredible restaurant only reachable by boat and we had reservations made by the travel agency and confirmed with the caption. Amazing food and experience! That restaurant made our trip even more over the top! We had the best day!! Timing was perfect and the boat was beautiful! We were a family of 6. 3 young children and they loved it! We feel so lucky and blessed to have met our captain and busted the most beautiful places in Italy! Highly recommend this company!!!

Our trip to Amalfi Coast was fabulous and Giovanni was a great guide. Thank you for arranging our tour!! Taking the ferry back from Amalfi to Sorrento was an excellent idea. Great way to see the Amalfi Coast by Van and by sea!!! Giovanni felt like family by the end of the trip.

Our driver, Roberto was friendly and his expertise on narrow and busy roads put us at ease. The ad indicated 2 hours in each city (ravello, amalfi, and positano). However, we only spent 1 hour in 2 of the cities.

I found this tour through a Rick Steves book and I was not disappointed. It is a long day, but you get to see three different towns - without having to drive yourself! Our driver was great. Very personable. The time spent in each town was enough to get a feel for each place. The cost of the tour was a great value in my opinion.

What a way to see the Amalfi coast without having to deal with the driving! You get free time to run around each of the 3 spots. Carlo was a great driver, just be aware that it is a drive with many twists and turns so not for the weak stomachs! Carlo did point out some history and some of the ancient steps. Remember this is not a guided tour, but more of a way to get you to see Positano, Amalfi Coast and Ravello and explore a bit on your own. If that's what you're looking for I'd recommend! Of note, they did go above and beyond to accommodate for us when our train to Naples was delayed! Great communication with the team!

We had a great day on the tour! The timing of the stops was perfect. We had just enough time in each town to explore them and see a few sights. Vincenzo really help make the day special. He engaged personally with each person on the trip and shared a lot of interesting stories. He also has a great sense of humor and is an incredibly skilled driver (which, of course, is necessary for the coast road!).
