Terrible Experience — Avoid at All Costs My stay at Smart Hotel Napoli was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. I am posting this review well aware of how this management operates: true to form, they will likely flood this review with a defensive, argumentative reply trying to write it off as a petty retaliation just because of a fee. Let me shut that narrative down immediately. This is not about an extra charge; this is about an objective catalog of complete operational, sanitary, and professional failure. The facts speak for themselves, and no amount of management spin can excuse them: Impossible Logistics & Restricted Access: You cannot drive directly to the hotel entrance because it sits inside a restricted zone. You are forced to abandon your car outside the gate and physically push all your luggage to the lobby. Paralyzing Port Traffic: Located right inside the port area, the hotel is subject to gridlock. Especially on Fridays and Saturdays when crowds head to the ferries and cruise ships, you will face traffic where your car literally does not move for hours. The hotel provides zero warning or guidance to help guests navigate this. A Front Desk Inferior to an AI: When you need help with directions, the staff is entirely unhelpful. I had to rely on an AI assistant just to figure out how to reach the property. The AI was infinitely more competent than the front desk—management would genuinely be better off replacing them with automation. Hostile, Aggressive Customer Service: The staff speaks to guests in a deeply disrespectful manner, acting as if the customer is there to serve them. When you hold your ground against their abrasive attitude, they flip the script and accuse you of lacking respect. Transparent Cash-Grabbing (Preempting Management’s Excuse): Yes, I had two rooms for our group, and yes, they charged an extra 130 Euros for two additional children over two nights. While the fee itself was paid and settled, the hostile, aggressive, and purely transactional way they handled it made it glaringly obvious that extracting maximum cash from guests is their only priority. Shocking Housekeeping & Missing Essentials: Basic hygiene and service do not exist here. On my first night, the shower gel dispenser was completely empty. I placed the empty bottle on the floor so the housekeeper couldn't possibly miss it. When I returned the next day, they simply took the empty bottle away and left nothing in its place, leaving me with zero shower gel. Zero Vacuuming & A Full-Scale Ant Infestation: Basic room upkeep is a joke. I found biscuit debris on the floor on my first night; it was sitting in the exact same spot after the room was supposedly "cleaned" the next day, proving they do not vacuum. Predictably, this attracted a severe ant problem. Ants crawled in every corner, culminating in what was clearly a nest above the bathroom's false ceiling, which resulted in a massive swarm of flying ant queens emerging on my final morning. Management can try to deflect, spin, or argue in the comments all they want. It doesn't change the reality of the traffic, the ant nests, the missing shower gel, or the unprofessional staff. Save yourself the stress, the unhygienic conditions, and the headache, and book somewhere else.

I gave this 5 starts on location we went on a ferry and there was lots within walking distance but it was far from the train station and airport. Not walkable The rooms were very big, ac worked good , breakfast buffet was great , North American style.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Smart Hotel in Naples. The room was large, breakfast had a wide variety of options, it was conveniently located and the staff was fabulous! Staff went above and beyond in order for us to enjoy Naples - holding our luggage so we didn’t have to cart it around was fantastic. The location is perfect allowing us to walk around Naples easily. If we had a problem it was attended to immediately whether it was needing more towels, needing gluten free options or not setting the safe lock correctly. I would recommend this hotel as a “smart” choice in Naples!
Please, whatever you do, don’t stay at Smart Hotel Napoli. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. Housekeeping was poor, the service was unfriendly and inefficient, and the breakfast was mediocre at best. I was shocked to find that the individual toiletries in my room had already been opened, making it appear they had been reused from a previous guest. That is completely unacceptable. On another occasion, I drank my protein shake from one of the room glasses. Housekeeping simply put the same dirty glass back in the room without washing or replacing it. The hotel feels much more like a basic hostel than a 4-star property. At the rates they charge, it offers very poor value for money. If it were a €49-per-night hotel, my expectations would have been different, but for the price, it is simply not acceptable. In my opinion, this property is much closer to a 2-star hotel than a 4-star one. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was excellent: comfortable beds, very comfortable pillows, and an outstanding location right in the heart of the city. The breakfast was one of the highlights — not only generous in quantity, but also offering a great variety of high-quality products. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay here again. Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
