Grand Hotel Capodimonte

Stayed here for 6 nights on a work trip. The hotel is deserving of its 4-star rating with the knowledge that it is in a very old building and so some amenities may not be as modern as one would otherwise expect. The wifi, for example could use some more stability and less disconnects. But nothing that would not be solved in a couple minutes at most. Breakfast is good, with eggs, bacon and sausages that where very well cooked, and a selection of cakes fruits and drinks. Very nice. Staff were nice and helpful even though I do not speak Italian. Rooms are large and clean, the beds are somewhat old and make some noise but nothing that prevented sleeping. The one odd thing was that the toilet seat disappeared while I was away from the room one day. The staff and I guessed the cleaning teams must have broken it, but we never did figure out what happened before I left :-D I recommend this hotel. I also recommend that you use it's taxi booking at flat rates service, if you do not take the public transport to get there. The prices are much more sensible.

The hotel was about 15 minutes away by bus, but for a 4-star hotel it was very disappointing. The room didn’t even have a proper duvet, just some old blankets. Breakfast was very poor, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable – it felt like you were being watched while eating. For a 4-star hotel, it lacked even basic amenities like slippers. Honestly, it does not deserve this rating and I would not recommend it.

Pros: - Excellent location, walking distance from the heart of the city while not being stuck in the noise and madness. - Beautiful pool area - Great service from the hotel staff from reception to dining Cons: - Rooms are a bit tired - the design of the shower creates flooding in the bathroom most times

The rooms were very nice and a little clean because there were tons of ants crawling on the floor and they cleaned our room twice after we told them and there were still ants on the floor after? They even climbed onto the walls and in our beds. The location is nice it’s close to a shopping center and the people who work there are really nice. The breakfast taste amazing with a ton of variety of food!
