Rally was amazing. He met me right on time and gave me a great tour. I was traveling solo, but he made me feel comfortable and explained the history of the places we visited. He was very informative and happy to answer my questions. We bought candy and handed it out to many happy children. He also showed me the school where he works and some of the projects his organization is working on to bring hope and opportunities to the community. I felt safe throughout the tour and was grateful to be welcomed into Kibera and given the opportunity to see it for myself. The people are beautiful and are doing their best to build a better future. This tour directly supports the community, and I hope more people choose to visit and learn about a place that is often misunderstood. I highly recommend Rally.

Huge experience and a great tour at affordable price. Big thanks to Rally & for the work he does for the community.
felt very safe, awesome guide, and shows us the living situations in the slums, very humbling experience
Rally was a fantastic tour guide and found this tour very insightful. While plenty of information was shared, experiencing how the community lives and operates had the biggest impact on me, beyond the facts and figures. An experience that will stay with you for life, I strongly recommend.
I wish it was possible to give more than 5 ⭐️s. The tour in itself is phenomenal but what really sets this trip apart from all other similar tours is Rally Walker. The modest price is not indicative of the quality of the tour. This was the most informative tour of it kind and an authenticity that simply can't be replicated. He is not a tour guide but a proud citizen of the Kibera community, proudly walked us through HIS community and shared with us the everyday life of those living in Kibera, visiting local school classrooms where we had the opportunity to meet the children. BOOK THIS TOUR TODAY...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A MUST-DO TOUR Do NOT let the low price of this tour make you overlook it. This was without question one of the most authentic and meaningful experiences I had in Kenya. Rally, was absolutely amazing. He grew up in Kibera, and that connection is evident from the moment you start walking with him. Everyone knows him! We couldn’t go far without someone greeting him, stopping to talk, or saying hello. You quickly realize that he isn’t simply a tour guide bringing visitors through the neighborhood—he is genuinely part of this community and gives back to it. What I appreciated most was how authentic the experience felt. There was no pressure to shop, no taking us from place to place just to spend money, and nothing felt staged for tourists. We walked through the community, learned about everyday life, and visited a local school where we had the opportunity to meet the children. It was eye-opening, educational, and incredibly humbling. You can also see that Rally is respected within the community and takes pride in sharing its story while supporting the people who live there. Knowing that this tour also contributes to the community is another reason to book it. If you’re looking at different tours and wondering whether you should choose this one —YES…BOOK IT. Without question. You’re getting an authentic experience with someone who actually comes from the community, gives back and cares deeply about the people.
I had a great experience exploring Kibera with Rally Walker as our host. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very welcoming throughout the tour. He gave us a genuine insight into the community, its history, culture, and everyday life, while making the experience comfortable and respectful. What I appreciated most was Rally’s personal approach and the way he shared stories and experiences from the community rather than simply giving a typical tourist tour. The tour was informative, engaging, and gave me a much better understanding of Kibera and the people who live there. I highly recommend Rally Walker to anyone looking for an authentic, meaningful, and well-organised Kibera experience. Thank you, Rally, for a memorable tour!
An eye-opening experience. Rally was so accommodating and flexible. He shares his first-hand knowledge of the slum, the school, and the people living there.
It is a shocking and heartwarming experience. The lack of sanitation and basic facilities makes me wonder how could people live there. But the same time I see people innovate and persevere in such environment. Best wish to all residents there and you deserve a better future! Rally is a wonderful guide. I feel safe and welcome in Kibera. It is nice to see smiles in children's face. I wish my donation could could help them in a small way!
This is once in a lifetime experience. Rally is an exceptional guide, known in the community, and helped us learn everything about the slum and the way of people living there. Nobody should miss it!
My visit to the Kibera Slums was one of the most eye-opening and life-changing experiences I’ve ever had, and so much of that was because of my incredible guide, Rally. From the moment we met, Rally welcomed me with warmth, kindness, and genuine passion for his community. Rather than simply showing us around, he helped me understand the heart of Kibera—its resilience, creativity, and the incredible spirit of the people who call it home. He shared personal stories, explained the history of the area, and introduced me to local businesses, schools, and community initiatives that are making a real difference. What impacted me the most was how Rally challenged many of the perspectives I had unknowingly carried. Instead of seeing only hardship, I witnessed hope, determination, entrepreneurship, and a strong sense of community. Every conversation and every stop on the tour reminded me that people are far more than the circumstances they face. Rally answered every question with honesty and respect, creating a safe space to learn and reflect. It was clear that he genuinely cares about educating visitors while empowering his community. His authenticity made the experience deeply personal and unforgettable. I left Kibera with a changed perspective on life, gratitude for the blessings I often take for granted, and a greater appreciation for the dignity and strength of the human spirit. This wasn’t just a tour, it was an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. If you’re considering visiting Kibera, I cannot recommend Rally highly enough. His knowledge, compassion, and dedication make this an experience that will stay with you long after you’ve left. Thank you, Rally, for opening my eyes and giving me one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
This was one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip to Kenya. Visiting Kibera was educational, humbling, and deeply inspiring. The tour provided an honest look at everyday life while highlighting the incredible resilience, strength, and sense of community of the people who live there. Our guide, Rally, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, genuine, and passionate about sharing the realities of life in Kibera with honesty and respect. He answered all of our questions, provided valuable historical and cultural context, and made us feel welcomed throughout the tour. His personal insights made the experience even more meaningful. One of my favorite parts of the tour was bringing my kids along. Before our visit, they brought candy to share with the children in the community, and seeing the kids connect through such a simple act of kindness was incredibly special. We also had the opportunity to participate in the cutest interactive Q&A session with the local children, which ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. We appreciated that the tour focused on understanding the community rather than reinforcing stereotypes. It challenged our perspectives and gave our family a much deeper appreciation for the realities many people face, as well as the hope, resilience, and determination within the community. If you’re looking for an authentic experience that will educate, inspire, and leave a lasting impression, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Rally, for giving our family a perspective we’ll carry with us long after returning home.
Visiting Kibera with Rally helped us not only to view how the people live under extremely difficult conditions but how is possible to help the community improve their lives through education and creating vision for their future. Congratulations to him and all his network, especially to teacher Ross for doing this amazing job. Please support him and let him guide you to Kibera but with hope and Agape in the end.
Rally is very kind and respectful in Kibera society. He helped us not only to feel a bit the daily life of the people living there but to understand how some of them try to improve people lives especially through education and prospect to leave Kibera. Please support through your tour to improve people lives.
The tour in Kibera is a good experience. Thank you for Rally taking me to see the faces of this area in which I had visited the alleys, markets, schools and home of the local people. Apart from the famous safari in Kenya, I also recommend to join this tour to have more understanding about the country.
My visit to the Kibera Slums was one of the most eye-opening and life-changing experiences I’ve ever had. Rally is an amazing tour guide and i love that a portion of the ticket cost goes to one of the schools in the area. Rally welcomed me with warmth, kindness, and genuine passion for his community. Rather than simply showing me around, he helped us understand the heart of Kibera. I left Kibera with a changed perspective on life, gratitude for the blessings I often take for granted, and a greater appreciation for the dignity and strength of the community. This wasn’t just a tour, it was an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. If you’re considering visiting Kibera, I cannot recommend Rally highly enough. His knowledge, compassion, and dedication makes this an experience that will stay with you long after you’ve left. Thank you, Rally, for opening my eyes and giving me one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
Thank you very much for teaching me about the Slum and taking nice pictures and videos. This is unforgettable experience. I bought biscuits and candy for around 100 people because my tour guide kindly recommended me to buy them. His advice was absolutely helpful. I realized that I should have bought more because there are many people who wanted. Honestly I didn’t expect that children and adults who live there appreciate only one sweet. They are really welcoming and seem to want to interact with visitors. I learned a lot there. I’d love to visit there again next time I visit in Kenya.
Rali was a terrific guide. A really impactful tour for me and my children. Thank you.
What an amazing experience! If you are even thinking about booking, please book this one! It’s for a good cause, guide is polite, so informative, and was so great teaching my family about the area. Would highly recommend! I have been to Kibera many times, but this was the best and perfect guide especially having my family with me.
Rally took his time taking us through Kibera and teaching us about the community. I was grateful that he was willing to share about his life there and how he now gives back to his community with his various efforts such as the school he built as well as the various families and businesses he supports through the earnings from this tour. I highly recommend everyone to consider this tour. It is not only informative and eye opening, but you will have the chance to give back if you feel compelled to do so.
This was such a nice experience. The guide did a great job. Gave enought information and not to much. The stop at the small children schooll was so amazing. I cant wait to share the photos to my own children and grandchildren.
We learned a lot I hope more people can come here to see the reality and learn something from here And do some mind change
Had a great experience. I enjoy gaining experiencial knowledge. The tour guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I appreciate the experience that the tour gave. You can buy products along the route. People we crossed were very kind as well. I'm thankful and will remember it.
The Kibera tour is an eye-opening and deeply meaningful experience. Despite being known as the largest slum, it is a place full of life, warmth, and incredibly kind people. Our guide, who was raised in Kibera, was highly knowledgeable and shared valuable insights into daily life and the challenges faced by the community. Additionally, the entry fee goes toward developing and supporting a school for underprivileged children, which makes the experience even more impactful.
This was without question one of the most powerful and meaningful experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. From the moment the tour began, I felt completely safe, welcomed, and guided with genuine care and respect. This experience is humbling in the truest sense — not voyeuristic, not rushed, and never uncomfortable. It’s about connection, understanding, and seeing the strength, resilience, and humanity within the community. The warmth of the people and the joy of the children are things I will carry with me long after leaving Nairobi. My community guide and leader, Rally, was exceptional. His knowledge, patience, and integrity set the tone for the entire experience. He was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful, always checking in and making sure everything felt right. At the end of the tour, he went far beyond expectations by taking me to one of his own local spots for lunch — an authentic, personal gesture that perfectly reflected the spirit of the day. If you are visiting Nairobi and want more than a surface-level experience, do this tour. It will challenge your perspective, leave you inspired, and remind you of what truly matters. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
This was one of the most meaningful tours my wife and I have ever taken. Rally, our guide, grew up in Kibera and shares his community with honesty, pride, and warmth. We felt completely safe throughout the tour, walking through local markets and narrow paths while meeting residents who greeted us with smiles and went about their daily lives. The highlight was visiting the school Rally founded for children whose families can’t afford school fees. Seeing the students sing and learn—three classes sharing one room or sometimes in a truck body—was incredibly moving and inspiring. All proceeds from the tour support this school, which makes the experience even more impactful. This tour isn’t about pity; it’s about resilience, perseverance, and supporting a local initiative that’s truly making a difference. Highly recommended.
Outstanding tour!!! Rally was wonderful. First, we felt extremely safe and had the opportunity to explore a community faced with hardship, as well as resilience, creativity, and caring. The children in the school were beautiful and so full of hope and joy. Rally did an excellent job of respectfully sharing history, and way of life in this region where he himself grew up and was happy to answer all of our questions My husband chose the tour, and I wasn’t sure if I would come out feeling a bit depressed, but I did not. I saw more smiles and relaxed people than I sometimes see at home. To me, It’s important to see all of a region and learn about the beauty as well as the struggles. We brought extra small bills to buy some local crafts. I got a wooden spoon for cooking, a beautiful hand blown glass vase, and chopsticks made out of cow bone. The work Rally and his friends are doing in this area is quite remarkable, and we were honored to be able to be a small part of it. It was the most meaningful experience we had in our few days in Nairobi at the end of our East African tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Definitely recommend!
Rally was a great guide and very kind guy. He walked us through Kibera and shared a lot about the community there. I’d definitely recommend him.
Very grounding experience. Rally does great work supporting community thought this event. His passion inspires. This walk is very safe, so don't worry about this. The only recommendation is to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing.
Rally was very friendly and highly knowledgeable about Kibera. He accompanied me all the way until I got into a taxi, which made me feel very safe. I highly recommend him.
Our Kibera tour was one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We were three adults traveling with our 6-year-old son, and our guide, Rally, was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we started, the tour felt immersive, informative, and deeply respectful. Rally’s knowledge, openness, and personal connection to the community made all the difference. He explained daily life in Kibera with honesty and balance, giving us real insight into the challenges, resilience, and strong sense of community that exists there. This was an authentic experience and we left with a much deeper understanding of Kibera and its people. If you are looking for a genuine, educational, and respectful experience, especially one suitable for families, this tour with Rally is a must-do. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
This tour provided an amazing insight into Kibera. Rally and Anan were very kind, knowledgeable, and great guides. We were slightly hesitant to do a slum tour due to concerns that it may not be appreciated by the community but it was clear that doing so supports the Kibera community. Thank you so much Rally and Anan
We Booked the Tour and we are Both so happy that we do this Tour to the Slums. So much informations about the Living. And so much Nice and friendly people. Thanks for the time and we Hope that we can give an small help for the Community! Everyone who stays in Nairobi have to come and See this….
Rally provides an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by residents of the slum. Although it is difficult to witness these conditions firsthand, doing so is necessary to raise awareness of the hardships endured by slum dwellers.
I am so glad I decided to book this tour with Rally. He is so knowledgeable and such a nice, inspiring guy. This tour was truly eye opening and will stick with my son and me forever. Be sure to have cash to buy snacks for the sweet kids. Going back watching the videos and looking at the photos makes me teary eyed🥹🙏🏾🩵
This tour in Kibera is of amazing value. This was the best experience I had in Kenya. It was eye opening. Everyone should see this I believe it would change the world. Rally was a amazing host he took care of us as he does the community.
This was a life changing experience. I was truly humbled by this tour. Rally was a amazing guide and a honorable man. The work hes doing with the community is admirable. He brought us through Kibera and gave us a first hand experience of seeing how they live and the challenges they face. But also the joy they keep despite of this. This is a must book tour. You wont regret it.
This experience showed us the reality of how the people in Kibera are living. The money raised from this tour goes back into the community of Kibera. I visited the markets, homes, streets, schools and I felt like I was right the action of the city streets. Thank you for all that you do and for making us feel safe and providing all the history during our walk.
This tour was very heartwarming. Rally was an amazing guide! Very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Beautiful kind-hearted people in the village. This tour is unforgettable and will remain dear to my heart forever.
Visiting Kibera Slum was a truly eye-opening experience. Rally is a great guide — he shares genuine local perspectives and answers every question with patience and honesty. He also introduced me to the NGO he works with, which is doing incredible work — supporting 130 children with education and running programs to provide girls with essential pad supplies. A meaningful and impactful tour that should not be missed.
Doing this tour was incredibly worthwhile. I kind of knew what I was signing up for, however walking through the slums and seeing the living conditions of over 1 million people in person was eye opening. I left feeling incredibly grateful for everything I have. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to broaden their world view and experience the largest slum in Africa. The tour guide Rally was very knowledgeable and professional. Was a top bloke 🙌
Thank you Rally our tour guide for giving me an opportunity to be in Kibera informal settlement and meet with this amazing souls, very creative community, resilience, hardworking people. The kids did put a smile on my face with fist bumps and their warm hearts, it was a good tour and all I can say is grateful heart and gratitude. Cheers
The guide is an amazing human who is so good at describing things to you as well as sharing his life experiences from growing up in the slums an absolute must see
Absolutely amazing experience to see a group of people living in their own society with their own rules and values as well as being so friendly
Rally was incredible! Kind and informative and showed all the areas. Please be prepared to bring cash with you to purchase snacks at the local stores and hand out to kids. There are also opportunities to buy and eat local foods if you want to try and you will need cash. If you want to buy water at the stores you will need cash as well. Bring at least 2000-3000 KES and also tip Rally.
Rally was very welcoming and open in answering questions. I appreciated learning more about this community and his story in trying to help improve the quality of life.
It was such a great experience and I think that everyone should go do it while in the area if you can. Hon explained into detail the slum experience and trials they go through every day. He made the experience safe and unforgettable🙏
Very enlightening and eye opening experience, we saw the heartbeat of the slums and got to see the people and the businesses who are living there, we also bought some sweets for the school that the tour guide runs and it was very emotional and wholesome to see all the kids get happy while we gave them some candy, they also sung a song for us to welcome us, would honestly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore the kibera slums.
In stark contrast to downtown Nairobi, and only 3 miles away this was an eye opening experience that is beneficial for all to see. My guide Allan was amazing, explaining everything about Kibera having grown up there and living there, and all of the good that their tours are trying to accomplish (helping their own school, local craftsmen, and helping to get visibility outside for charity and assistance). Felt safe and welcome the entire time and was met with nothing but smiles from the residents.
A must do experience when in Nairobi! It will certainly open your eyes. Our guide Rally, born and raised in the slum was fantastic, knowledgeable and he gives so much back to the community. Meeting the young kids in school was the highlight. We extended our tour into the CBD with him and rode on a matatu (local bus), which was also a great experience. He created one of the best and moving experiences of our whole African trip. I highly recommend it.
