About Activity
Just minutes from the city centre, Nairobi National Park is a rare wildlife haven within a capital city, where lions, giraffes and rhinos roam against a backdrop of glittering skyscrapers. Established in 1946 as Kenya's first national park, it covers 117 square kilometres of open grassland, acacia woodland and riverine forest. Despite its compact size, it is home to lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, zebra and wildebeest, as well as one of Kenya's most important sanctuaries for the critically endangered eastern black rhino. Birdlife is exceptional, with more than 400 recorded species, from ostriches and secretary birds to vultures and eagles. Easily combined with a Nairobi city stay, it's the perfect introduction to Kenya's wildlife before or after your safari.
