Obed was great! Friendly and very knowledgeable about history and culture. Also took great pictures of me which are now on my Instagram. I was traveling to Nairobi for a conference but had a free morning before I caught a bus. I was traveling by myself and had never been to Nairobi before so I wanted some help navigating. This was an absolutely wonderful overview of the city. Obed picked me up at my hotel, was flexible when checkout took longer than expected, and got me back in plenty of time to catch my bus. We visited two craft workshops, a tower that let us look out over the city, and the massai market. Now my Christmas shopping is done!

I had a wonderful experience on this shopping tour in Nairobi! My guide, Ezekiel, was very kind and patient, driving me all around the city to places that matched my shopping interests and waiting patiently while I explored. He took me to some wonderful spots I never would have found on my own. Along the way, he shared information about the history and culture of the places we visited. I especially loved seeing the craftspeople at work. Having seen firsthand the skill and effort that go into what they make will make me cherish my purchases all the more. This tour was logistically very easy and made for a highly enjoyable and memorable day. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Nairobi’s shopping and culture!
wonderful experience! Our guide was very flexible and tailored the itinerary entirely to our wishes. He made sure we got to see everything we wanted to. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Kenya, its culture, and its history, and we learned so much from him throughout the tour. On top of that, he was extremely kind, polite, and so much fun to be around! He was always laughing, smiling, and radiating positive energy, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We also felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time, even when exploring the suburbs and less touristy areas. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nairobi! 😊
Obed was an excellent guide! He allowed us to alter the schedule a bit, which was helpful as it was our last day in Nairobi. He’s very knowledgeable was knowledgeable, kind, and a skilled driver!
Tim was a great guide. I told him what I wanted and he picked some great places for shopping. We also had a great talk about all things Kenyan.
Had a fantastic time! Enjoyed seeing the bead making workshop! And the city tour, our guide Obed was fantastic he came on time and was very friendly also knowledgeable overall great cultural experience.
TIm was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Kenyan history and culture. We highly recommend this tour and the highlight was the Kobe bead factory.
Our tour guide and driver Tim for our private tour of Nairobi was amazing. He was prompt, flexible, very knowledgeable about the history of Nairobi, the relevance of the buildings, and he was very engaging. It was one of the best things we did on this trip and fitting into our African experience thank you, Tim.
Exceptional day spent exploring local handicrafts in a relaxed environment! Obed was punctual, knowledgeable and happy to tailor the tour for a unique experience. The local lunch stop and the visit to the KICC was a bonus. A wonderful way to spend my last day in Nairobi!
We had limited time in Nairobi as were travelling the next day and this certainly made the most of our stay here. Our guide Mwose was very friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of time to look around each stop. We also managed to learn a lot about the city of Nairobi and its history. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting.
Obed took his time to explain all the details of the city of Nairobi and took me to see amazing craftsmanship.
It's fun,my guide Obed did a great job, it's great, he took me to beautiful places like KICC center, the building is massive, we went to the top of the roof of the building to see how beautiful Kenya is. He showed me some historical photos and history, he's very intelligent. Also went to other beautiful places, it's fun,
Our guide Tim was very flexible with us! The shopping was GREAT!
It was a great tour, it is a must do tour when visiting Kenya. The tour was very educational it would also be great for children.
This experience was truly wonderful and gave me a great glimpse into the local culture. We visited several vibrant local markets, each with its own unique charm. It was fascinating to see the handmade jewelry and crafts so much creativity and tradition in every piece. One of the highlights was spending time with the Maasai people. We even got to dance with them, which was such a fun and memorable experience. It felt very authentic and special. The tour also included a visit to a very nice restaurant with great food, which was a perfect way to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. On top of that, the city tour was well-organized and gave a great overview of the area.
We found this tour to be perfect for understanding how to buy souvenirs and local goods. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He made accommodations to our schedule to best fit our needs. We would highly recommend this tour.
My experience was great! I had the chance to see how beads were transformed into beautiful jewelry. The woodwork was remarkable. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. He was able to give me a lot information. I recommend this tour on your visit to Nairobi.
Shopping and learning about Kenyan history, what could be better? My guide, Obed, was professional, fun and highly informative.
The experience was amazing. My guide Mwose was an excellent communicator, very knowledgeable, and an overall pleasant vibe to be around. The souvenir spots were of very quality & care. I have nothing but positive experiences from the shop workers. Would most definitely receive to anyone planning a trip to Nairobi
Had a wonderful time site seeing and shopping with our host Obed. He arrived on time and gave us a fantastic overview of the area and what to expect on the tour. He was very accommodating and made sure we arrived at KICC in time for view a beautiful sunset. He took very nice pictures with his camera and shared the photos with us. The vehicle was clean air conditioned and had very nice African music playing during the drive for entertainment. He narrated sites and shared a lot of historical information along the afternoon as well as answered all of our questions. He was very friendly fun and made sure the experience overall was great. The tour was wonderful. Please do book this one you won’t regret it.
This tour was wonderful, Paul catered the tour to what I was interested in seeing/doing. He was very informed as to the history of the city and was able to point out all locations and spaces of significance along our drive and from the tower that overlooks the whole of Nairobi. We also visited the beading spot and some other souvenir locations as well as the US embassy memorial and museum. I even needed to find a place to purchase an adapter and Paul was amenable to that as well.
We had a a great time with Obed taking us around to different workshops along with the city and museum. He is super knowledgeable about the history of Kenya. Not to mention he’s super friendly and nice.
Far exceeded the official tour company experience This was such a personalised tour. No time pressure. No hopping on and off buses. Took me to excellent and varied locations. Mwose was exceptionally patient with all my questions. Highly recommended.
It was my last day in Nairobi so i decided to book this tour, and it totally worth it, excellent to buy some souvenirs, also we went to the city center and go up to the convention center to see the whole city. Thank you Obed!
The tour guide was very informative and considerate. He arrived on time and the designated location. He drove safe and answered every question that we had
It was a great tour. We saw many parts of Nairobi, but we were mostly interested in the massaii market as we had already been to the bead factory. Obed was very kindly able reconfigure the experience to our taste we were picked up and dropped off right at our hotel. He was very personable and interesting. We also learned a lot about the history of Nairobi and the city and the people in it. Great service and great experience thank you so much.
Mwose treated us very well. He was on time and very flexible-willing to adapt the standard itinerary to accommodate our personal interests. He was knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. Highly recommend this experience.
It was an awesome experience 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. A lot of clothes and artifacts to see and buy for all ages. Seeing Nairobi from the top of the convention centre was spectacular!
Tim is a very good guide. Accomodating and caring! We spent our last afternoon and its very nice to know more the city & the history of Kenya!
What a great way to see Nairobi when you’re short on time. I was so fortunate to have Tim as my tour guide. I let him know the sights I’d like to explore and he also picked some shopping venues I would never have known about. At the last souvenir stop, there was a little cafe connected to it. Tim recommended a couple of local dishes he thought I’d enjoy. He was right. The food was terrific and was made fresh when I ordered it. What a treat! I highly recommend Tim.
This was our last day before we left and I wish we had done it in the middle. We were short on time so we specifically asked Obed to take us to the 3 locations we had not already been to and he was so accommodating and understanding. We did not go to the Kuzuri beads and the city tour because we had already been to Kobe beads and did the city tour the first day so we went to the 2 craft shops and the Masai market. These were really really good! I recommend doing these early in the schedule. The Massi market is especially great!! You certainly need lots of time there 😄😄. The men’s craft shop had sooooo many great things!
Fantastic city and market tour of Nairobi with Ezekiel. .Our experience was great; informative and fun.
Not as much historical presentation as I had hoped. Our guide was great, very kind and informative but you had to ask the questions. Driving in Nairobi is very tricky so definitely we would not have been able to do it yourself. Shopping was also better than the local stores in town.
Really great tour to get a history lesson of Nairobi and also learn about the modern city. I loved the bead factory. It was fascinating speaking with the women of Nairobi. At the end you visit the convention center where you get a 360 rooftop view of the entire city. Might I add my driver was so knowledgeable. We had great conversation and I leaned so much.
Tim was an excellent tour guide! He knew all the best spots and we learned a lot from him about Nairobi and Kenya history. When booking this tour, ask for Tim! We felt safe with him while walking around the city as well.
We were looking for something to fill our last day in Kenya as our flight home wasn’t until late evening. We arrived from Masai Mara and Obed picked us up from Wilson Airport. First, he took us to a really good local restaurant with excellent Kenyan food. Then we went to a few shopping locations as well as learning about jewelry making and wood carving. It was really neat to see the whole process from start to finish. Our final stop was the top of the conference center for some spectacular views of Nairobi. Obed the brought us to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport in time for our flight home. Obed was very knowledgeable about the city and we really enjoyed spending the day with him.
Tim is such I great guide! He provided all kinds of background information about Kenya, Nairobi, and Eastern Africa from current up to like very early history. It was a lovely walk through Narobi and then drive to nice artisan local stores. You couldn’t ask for more.
We could not have had a better tour and your guide. We had read so many reviews about being dragged around shops that tourists weren’t interested in so we were determined to have our own walking tour around Nairobi and some company to go to the Maasai Market. And that is exactly what we got. We explained what we wanted in advance by sharing the list of sites from one of the walking tours we found online but said we wanted to add to that some company at the Market so we could manage the traders. Our guide was amazing. The two of us strolled around with him while he explained everything. He didn’t hurry but took his time and he even brought us up and down the VIP lift in the KICC as he knew everyone and helped us avoid queues. He also took pictures for us. At the end he took us for a drive to Karen for lunch and when we said that we weren’t interested in any other shopping or museums he brought us back to the hotel. He was 5* and would definitely recommend.
Nairobi often serves as a gateway to the National Parks of Kenya without visitors stopping in the city and learning about it. This tour provided an introduction to Nairobi. Tim was a very good guide who gave an excellent abbreviated overview of Kenya's history. He also explained the layout of the city with its landmarks from the top of the Jomo Kenyata International Centre. It was educative to learn about the bead making process at a Centre that we visited. Overall, an enjoyable afternoon
Great tour! Wonderful tour guide! We highly recommend. The shopping is great. The mart is a little crazy but good deals.
The tourguide was very flexable and adapted to things on the move. if i wanted to go to a specific place, he would take me. When he would describe where we were going and if I informed him that I had been to that place on a different tour the previous day, he would come up with a different place to go to that added to the experience of my trip.
Our guide Obek picked us up early after we arrived earlier than we expected. His communication was excellent. The tour itself was exactly as described in the itinerary, we got to watch the women make the beads at the women's empowerment company, which was a real treat. Then visit the shop afterwards. Note on this the shop was all in dollars which we didn't expect and only had shillings. So we handed over shillings and got dollars I'm change. No major drama but just a heads up. Next was the woodwork shop where we saw the guys carving the wooden objects that again we could buy in the shop but the real treat was the antiques place just room after room of beautiful items for sale. After the shops we went to the conference centre, pay 1000KES by card as venue is cashless, to get the elevator to the top and once up the view of the city is amazing. Obek talked to us on our drive about the history of Kenya and Nairobi and it was fascinating to hear all about the different tribes. He was friendly and answered all of our questions. Would recommend this tour if you're into your shopping and don't want the hassle of walking round the streets of Nairobi.
I had a couple days in Nairobi before traveling to Zanzibar and booked this tour. It was superb. My guide Tim was very knowledgeable I learned so much about Kenya and the city of Nairobi… Tim took me to all the cool places I did my souvenir shopping while learning about the culture of the city.. if you are ever in Nairobi book with Tim if you want a true cultural experience.
Tim, my guide, was flexible and worked with me when my plane was late getting in. The history walk was quite interesting and I learned a lot about Kenya I didn't know. I enjoyed seeing different parts of the city. I picked two of the workshops/souvenirs shops I wanted to see. At both I got to see the artisians at work. Both had great shops as well. This was a grest way to spend my morning.
The driver was one hour late 😳 no calls I called several times later showed up. I had to cancel d tour. Terrible experience
Mwose my tour guide was excellent. It was a completely personalised experience so I felt very special. The start of the tour includes an overview of the history of Nairobi all while taking in the magnificent view from the top of the Kenyatta convention centre helipad. The beads factory was fantastic. So wonderful to see something which is helping to benefit an entire community of women. Mwose was so flexible throughout the afternoon continually checking on my preferences and adjusting the itinerary accordingly. I know most people coming to Nairobi will go for a safari tour but I would highly recommend also doing this tour if you have more time to spare and want to see another side to Nairobi .
I had a 9 hour layover in Nairobi so I decided to have an adventure. I was met at the airport by Tim who was my personal guide for the tour. He is very knowledgeable on Kenyan history and the social studies teacher in me truly appreciated the in depth information he provided. I would have like to see more historical sites but my time constraint didn't leave much room for that. Shopping was interesting. Although I saw some people with their guides while shopping, Tim hung back. Not sure if that was good or bad but prepare to haggle with them to get the best price. The Kobe Tough location was cool. There is no haggling (or at least I didn't try it). The restaurant he took me too was good. I should have trusted him and took my time. I rushed through my dinner to make sure I didn't miss my flight and never got a chance to look at the shops that were located on the grounds. I would definitely do this again.
Micheal was very knowledgeable about Nairobi. He was very patient as we shopped and picked some nice places for us to go. Kobe Tough was amazing and the jewelry is great quality. The city view was awesome as well. I would tour again.
Lovely experience. My guide Mwose communicated well, was there to pick me up from the airport promptly, and was very in tune to my comfort level. We saw a good deal of Nairobi, then went to some wonderful stores. I especially enjoyed the bead factory even went back the next day again.
Fun trip with Tim to take us to top end places to bring home special pieces of jewelry and African Art. Highly recommend if you want a special shopping trip.
