This tour offered something you don't always get—a real, unfiltered look at day-to-day life in the Maasai community, and it was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The Maasai people were incredibly nice and welcoming—they opened their community to us with such warmth and generosity, and it made the whole experience feel truly special. Our tour guides were also wonderful: so nice, friendly, and knowledgeable, answering all our questions and sharing insights that brought everything to life. We learned so much directly from the community—how the women prepare food and cook, how they weave necklaces and wristbands, and even how they milk goats! It was hands-on, personal, and gave us a much deeper appreciation for Maasai traditions and daily life. This tour is perfect for anyone wanting a genuine cultural exchange rather than a staged presentation. Our driver, Obed, was on time picking us up. He was very well informed and shared interesting facts on the trip to the village. We really enjoyed our visit. Especially learning how the Masai live, their customs, and how some of their day to day activities look. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

I would have rated this experience with ten million stars if I could have. It was life-changing. Obed, our driver and one of our guides, patiently and enthusiastically answered my avalanche of questions about the Masai people and Kenya in general during our two-hour drive to the village and back to our hotel. During our visit to the village we learned so much about the history and lifestyle of the Masai people and about their values and culture. We didn’t only learn though; we were able to experience all of this. We were dressed in traditional clothes, we visited their homes, we watched them engage in activities like fire-making, we learned about indigenous medicine and participated in song and dance and received a blessing that I felt in my heart. This was a top-tier, next level experience with guides who genuinely respect, honor and love the Masai and have a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge with others.Make this activity a priority during your journey to Nairobi. It is an interesting educational evento where you are able to experience diest hand how the Massai live, their society estructure and rules, talk wirh them and learn pf their past. Fuiste was very knowleasgeble in all Therese aspectos and shared them wirh you. Some of the tribe speak English so you can comunícate directly wirh them. A good experience Ro have in Nairobi. Visiting a Masai boma with Tim as guide was the highlight of my trip to Kenya. I wound up having a private tour which felt really special and I learned a lot from Tim about the area. I was hesitant to visit a village as an act or tourism or commodification but the experience felt very sincere and authentic, the family opening their home compound and Tim explaining the way of life. I learned a ton and it really felt like a once in a lifetime experience that I never thought I’d have the opportunity for. A++ experience highly recommend, bring $20usd equivalent for family tip and also recommend tipping driver! Tim offered to stop and buy souvenirs (takes card) on the way back, which my family will be grateful for.

Our Masai Village tour was amazing!!! My husband and I went with another couple and the 4 of us enjoyed every second of this village tour. This was such a cultural rich experience that I would recommend to everyone visiting Kenya. In addition to the Masai villagers our driver (Obed) was the best! He was accommodating, pleasant, knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable and safe during our 6 hour experience.

Our Guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. Communication pick up and drop off was outstanding . He even took time to take us to a very nice souvenir shop which was not part of the tour. The pick up was on time and professional, the ride was comfortable and the guide discussed some amazing history and answer my MANY question, and the tribe was very welcoming. Tim was very knowledgeable about the history and what happens today. The tribe was so kind and their passion for showing us their culture was very apparent but not agressive. Words cannot express this experience. The ride home was comfortable and a nice wind down from an exciting experience. I would do this again!!!!

One of the highlights was learning how to throw a spear—it was so much fun for our entire family! We also watched a live demonstration of how they start a fire from scratch using only natural materials and traditional techniques. It was fascinating to see a skill that has been passed down through generations. We appreciated how welcoming everyone was and how willing they were to answer questions and share their customs and traditions. Being able to step inside the village and learn firsthand about their daily lives made this much more than just a sightseeing stop—it was an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for a culture that has preserved its traditions for centuries.

It’s a bit of a drive from Nairobi (90 minutes plus), but very much worth it. Mwose was an excellent guide and the experience was as authentic as you can get. You get to experience Masai culture hands-on, and the people are very kind & welcoming. Bring a few extra shillings to tip out generously, as only 50% of proceeds from the tour go towards the actual village. A must do if you’re in Nairobi.
