Lake Nakuru/ Lake Naivasha/ Maasai Mara 5 Days Lodge Safari

Firstly want to say we were apprehensive booking direct with a Kenyan company from the UK due to not having different laws etc however we are so glad we did! We paid about half the price compared if we booked with UK company - and that was for a private safari where as many UK company's are on shared safari for much higher price. Fran dealt with our booking and was really helpful and patient sending us lots of intinary options so we could get the best personalised trip. Kandy was our tour guide and he was the perfect man for the job. He was so informative, drove us around the whole of Kenya with no complaints, was funny and talkative but also gave us plenty of privacy and he was very respectful of the animals and wildlife compared to alot of other guides we saw. Cannot thank him enough. The safaris themselves were a dream come true so so mich wildlife then expected had the best time. Had some beach time too at a resort which was perfect was to end the trip. Honestly would reccomend Explorer Kenya to everyone was 10/10 and i already want to book again.

I traveled to Kenya to celebrate my 29th birthday, and this safari turned out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life! I booked this trip almost 10 months in advance. After contacting more than 20 safari companies and carefully comparing their itineraries, hotels, and services, I finally chose Explorer Kenya Safaris. Looking back, I couldn’t be happier with my decision, especially because we were lucky enough to have Vincent as our safari guide! Our safari guide, Vencent, is young and a little shy at first, but he is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He may be a bit reserved, but his warm personality, professionalism, and passion for wildlife really shine through once you get to know him. He has extensive knowledge of wildlife and animal behavior, and he is also excellent at spotting animals in the wild. Thanks to him, we had an amazing opportunity to observe a lion family up close. We quietly watched them without making any noise, allowing the lions to behave naturally, and stayed until they eventually wandered off on their own. We even got to see the adorable lion cubs playing, drinking water, and interacting with each other. It was such an unforgettable experience! Vencent is also an incredibly kind and caring person. He would share extra food and water with local children, and even gave away his favorite drinks to them. His kindness and generosity really touched us. We usually started our safari very early, leaving at around 6:30 a.m. This was actually the best time for wildlife viewing, as the animals tend to hide in the shade once the temperature rises after 10 a.m. However, the daily schedule was flexible, and we could always discuss our plans with Vencent and adjust the itinerary according to our preferences. Another thing we really appreciated was how clean and well-maintained the safari vehicle was. Every single day, the car was spotless, tidy, and well-organized, making our journeys comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, Vencent made our safari experience truly special. Although he is a little shy, he has such a kind heart and a genuine love for what he does. We really appreciated his professionalism, knowledge, patience, kindness, and attention to detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend him to anyone planning a safari!

We had an absolutely fantastic safari experience and cannot recommend Explorer Kenya Tours highly enough! From the initial planning to the very last moment of our trip, everything was exceptionally well organised, professional, and personal. Booking is very smooth with proposed schedule fit our time and budget. We planned 8 days and covered all interested locations including Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. Our guide Kennedy is so nice and resourceful, he helped us spotted all animals on our checklist! And we seen some surprise on top, especially cheetahs and leopards are different to find at this season, we able to see multiple times, thanks to Kennedy’s rich experience. We travel as 4 people group in Safari Land Cruiser. Vehicle is 3-years new and condition is great for off road. And extra seats can make it easy for some bags we want to carry with us. I would suggest 4 people group is the comfortable size. It could be too crowded if travel in 6, just think about stand up and see view on one side, it will be a little bit difficult. With the cost for value, definitely can recommend Explorer Kenya if you plan to do Safari. You will be comfortable with their arrangement, no matter food or hotels. And if you can make the tour with Kennedy, who is funny, knowledgeable and responsible, it will be worry free and memorable trip of wildlife adventure.

We had a wonderful safari experience in Kenya. Our guide, Dominic, was experienced, responsible and very knowledgeable about the wildlife. He always tried his best to help us find the animals we wanted to see, especially lions and other predators, and we were lucky to have some amazing sightings during the trip. We had an incredible experience with Vincent going to some amazing sights around Kenya. It was the perfect itinerary as we got warmed up in Naivasha and Lake Nakuru (where we saw 4 of the big 5 including both white and black rhinos) before the main event at Masai Mara which was unbelievable and we finally saw the elusive leopard to get 5/5. The lodges were fantastic and we can’t speak highly enough of Vincent. He helped us feel informed at all times and did as much as he possibly could to help us get the best sightings and to ensure we were there at the best times. He made the trip absolutely incredible. Before booking this trip, I did a lot research including approaching local travel agents in UK. I came across Explore Kenya on line & was amazed to read their reviews. I contacted Robert who put me through to Purity. After many email & telephone exchanges, I decided to book with them but I was very anxious to pay & deal with someone who was in another country & not local to me. My worry was around the reliability & actual delivery of their service. However, I have nothing but praise for the efficiency & delivery of what was promised to me. Most of the things went as promised. The pick ups/ the game rides & accommodation was as promised. Thanks to our tour guide Sami. He is a very pleasant & a likeable guide who did his best to make sure we get to see as many unusual animal interactions as possible. He’s polite & a professional guide who made our time in Kenya enjoyable. The only constructive criticism I will give to Robert is that we had been in touch via email & WhatsApp for months, however there was no welcome message or a call or text to say hello upon our arrival in Nairobi or even during our 15 day stay to ask if all was going ok. Therefore the whole process felt a bit mechanical rather than having a warm & a caring touch. That was disappointing. Even when things didn’t go as per plan, I had to call & inform & then chase. Having said, it is a trustworthy company & I will consider giving my business again. Thank you to all the drivers who did pick up & drops & big high fi to Sami for trying to quiz us at times for our animal & worldly knowledge 😄

I had great trip with explore kenya. I had booked private 4x4 with guide for my family. 4x4 was in very good condition and clean. Robert from Kenya explore was very prompt in resolving booking related quarries. Booking was very smooth. Ian who was our guide and driver was fun to be with. He was knowledgeable about location spots of wild life and was also sensitive to our mood. When we were disappointed due to zero Rhino sighting during Nakuru tour; he ensured we get the best experience and used his all experience and wisdom ensured we see Rhino and could able to see Rhino family. We visited Kenya in June for a 5 day safari as part of our honeymoon. The booking process was very straight forward and seemed like exceptional value for what we were getting, especially compared to some other tour providers. We were contacted by Explorer Kenya shortly after the booking to confirm payment and booking arrangements. They were also very informative about what would be required by way of ETA in order to enter Kenya. The team at Explorer Kenya were always very friendly, helpful and replied to any queries quickly. Upon arrival in Kenya we were greeted by our Tour Guide Solomon as soon as we stepped out of the airport departure gate and he showed us to our vehicle which would be getting used for the duration of the safari. He dropped us at our hotel in Nairobi, made sure we got checked in and made arrangements for collecting us the next morning to head to Maasai Mara. Throughout the full safari, Solomon was exceptionally organised and punctual, always being at the meeting place exactly when he said we would be. He also made sure that us and our belongings were safe and secure at all times throughout our trip, and would liaise with any third parties such as the hot-air-balloon safari (which we would definitely recommend) as well as the boat and walking safari which was organised for us while at Lake Naivasha. On a personal level, we couldn't have hoped for a better guide for our safari. Solomon was extremely knowledgeable, experienced and provided so much information about the whole of Kenya (not just the parks and reserves) throughout the several long drives between camps. More importantly, he was extremely nice and approachable, and we had a lot of laughs throughout the safari. During our safari we stayed: 1 night at Tamarind Tree hotel in Nairobi 2 nights at Entim Mara Camp - Maasai Mara 1 night at The Cliff Camp - Lake Nakuru 1 night at Enishipai Spa and Resort - Lake Naivasha All of the above were great properties, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the camps and Entim Mara and the Cliff. The accomodation, food and service was exceptional, and would recommend to anyone staying in these reserves. All in all we couldn't have hoped for more and would definitely recommend Explorer Kenya. If/when we return to Kenya we would be looking to use again.

Our family enjoyed a fabulous safari tour to some of the most beautiful scenery in Kenya and had the most amazing time! Our guide John Kariuki made the trip perfect, with his extensive knowledge of Kenya and its history, his ability to spot wildlife and position us for the perfect shot, and his extensive knowledge of the industry and lodges - we stayed at the most beautiful locations each night! 1st time to Kenya and Africa. Company (explorer kenya) and guide (Ian, ask for him he was excellent) immediately made us felt at ease and safe. We were a group of 3 couples and wonderfull trip, Clean, safe, puntual, and represented the Company well. Explorer Kenya are lucky to have him (Ian) This is Africa, this isn't suburbia other than him being knowledgeable on flora and fauna he was an excellent driver between destinations got us there safe and sound (which can be a challenge in Nairobi city driving to... safari driving) Explorer Kenya did a great job, Ian also catered and caters well to the public, reading well his clientele and designing a trip to the their needs. He knows the best places hide outs of the parks for the animals, read the land well, iminent weather changes, not ever getting stuck, and all other guides respected him. I feel like we lucked out a lot with this tour group and guide. Cant say enough good things. All in all and most importantly felt safe and looked after.

John Kariuki of Explorer Kenya gave us a safari that couldn’t have been better. John seemed to have a sixth sense to know where all the animals were and where they were going. He always got us in a great position to see all the wildlife and other sights. He also was amazing in that he could answer virtually every question about the animals and Kenya. He found all the animals, told us what species they were, their gender, and unique characteristics about them. Often he told us what they were going to do next, and he always seemed to be right. He was extremely courteous and helpful the entire time we were with him. We were a bit concerned about the potential of being victims of crime. However, with John those thoughts quickly faded away. We highly recommend him and his safari company to any body who wants a safe safari filled with all the animals you would expect to see in Kenya.

Explorer Kenya provided a great service! They were flexible to adjust to our times and places of interest and helpfully provided recommendations and suggestions to adjust the itinerary. Our guide/driver Vincent was outstanding. He was incredibly professional and kind. We learned a lot about Kenya’s lifestyle, food, and of course - wildlife. He was great at spotting animals at a far distance and a great company all throuout the trip. Truth is, when doing safaris, the guide/driver is very important. You’ll end up spending 4-8days with them travelling around the country, so having the right person with you is essential. I can’t recommend Vincent enough

We were visiting Kenya for the first time and were unsure which tour provider to trust and choose from. We decided to go with Kenya Explorer and we were not disappointed. We booked though our Bangladesh local your operator InnoGlobe Tour & Travel.We passed an amazing time adventures 6N/5D. Our guide Mr. Vincent knew the best places to take us so we can see as many animals as possible. We saw lions, cheetah, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, zebras and many others all within 5 days. Mr. Vincent was flexible and happy to adjust plans if needed. He is also a very good driver and we felt very safe which is so important visiting a country far away for the first time. You really don’t need to worry about booking a safari with Explorer Kenya – everything was perfectly organized and communication was great from the very beginning. I contacted around ten companies for a five-day private safari, and Explorer Kenya was one of the most affordable, yet provided excellent service. We received a detailed itinerary with accommodation names and could choose from three options – economy, mid-range, or luxury. Our guide Vincent was amazing! He made sure we were safe, enjoyed every moment, and thanks to his sharp eyes we saw almost all the animals. He’s also a great driver – smart, attentive, and very dedicated. All lodges were nice and exceeded our expectations, except for Simba Lodge at Lake Naivasha, which was a bit disappointing in cleanliness and room condition – I’d suggest asking for a different one. Otherwise, everything was just perfect – highly recommended! 🌍🦓

We had a great tour with driver and guide Anthony. Hr was a very nice and helpful man. We have seen almost all types of beasts except Black rhinos, leopard. Cheeta etc. Anthony spotted very small birds also. The weather Das also excellent. This time wr have missed the great migration, though huge numbers of wilde beast was found.In a word the tour was excellent as well as the hotels.

We recently visited Kenya for a safari to celebrate our honeymoon, with our travel agent arranging Explorer Kenya to be our guide. This was a truly unforgettable and fantastic experience which really made our honeymoon. We visited the Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, Elephant Orphanage, 4 days in the Maasai Mara and a night in both Lake Naivaisha and Nakuru. Our guide for the week was Douglas Mwakio, who was great company and was so knowledgeable on every animal we saw. The Maasai Mara was a beautiful place, and Douglas was great in navigating around the park and ensure we saw the majority of animals we wanted to see. We saw 4 of the big 5, and Douglas tried so hard to find a Leopard which is testament to his commitment to ensure we had the best experience. The amount of driving Douglas did was impressive throughout the week, and he also told us various interesting information about the town and cities of Kenya we drove through. He dropped us off on the airport on the final day too. Douglas was much more than a safari guide, he planned our days and ensured we got to experience various different safaris across the locations, and ensured all entry tickets were sorted. He even ensured we were able to check in safely to all accommodations. Thank you Douglas and we look forward to our next safari with you hopefully one day.

From the get-go, Explorer Kenya was very helpful in tailoring our trip to Kenya. Everything was arranged for us in advance and check-ins, meals, tours, etc. ran smoothly during. Our guide, Vincent, was an excellent companion, skilled driver, hawk-eyed animal spotter, and knowledgeable about animals and culture. Incredible experience. I have done safaris in South Africa and Namibia in the past and this was the best so far. Hotels and food were first rate. Each location had outstanding wildlife to see. Masai Mara was truly spectacular.Seeing lions feeding, a cheetah feeding, Caracals feeding, and a cheetah feeding were just some of the amazing experiences. Our guide, John Kariuki, was marvelous. He was an excellent driver and always made you feel safe on the road and in the parks. He had extensive wildlife knowledge and a great eye for spotting wildlife. We had such a great time, we are already planning next years trip with Explorer Kenya with John Kariuki as our guide.

I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Explorer Kenya and in particular, our guide and driver, James Kariithi. James was with our group of six from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru, and then three nights in Masai Mara. It was pretty clear from the start that James really knows the terrain like the back of his hand. We were spoiled with incredible animal sightings, including some of the more elusive cats (leopards and cheetahs). Most importantly, I always felt safe with James as our leader. I saw more than I ever imagined I’d see on safari and I’m so grateful for the beautiful experience. Our group experienced a small hiccup while transferring in Nairobi before the next leg of our trip, but it was quickly rectified and we were on our way without any delays.

My suggestion if you are planning to visit Kenya, book with Explorer Kenya and travel without any stress. Everything was very smooth right from the start, all booking and customised itinerary was prepared through very clear email communication. Some prior payment and rest on arrival. Our driver Mr. Kendie was very professional, accommodating and knowledgeable and ensured we got to see some amazing wildlife at the parks. Also suggested good stops on the way and right timings for the safari. Pick up and drop in safari vehicle from the airport made it very convenient, choice of hotels was also good. Overall a fantastic holiday.

We had a wonderful time and are so glad that we went with this agency, which was recommended by a friend of mine who had lived in Kenya for many years. We felt very lucky to have our guide and driver, Samuel, who is so kind and incredibly experienced. If we were to do it again we would probably skip Lake Naivasha, or maybe just do one night there. We loved Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara was incredible. I would also love if the agency included more cultural excursion options, like volunteering or visiting with a local artist. Just a suggestion!

We are family of 3 with our daughter aged 6 and we have been on safari with explorer kenya in october for 10 days/9nights. Everything from the beginning was amazing. We visited 4 parks: ol pejata conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. Of course we have seen amazing nature, lots of animals and of course famous big5. Our driver /guide Peter cago was amazing every second - very good and carefull driver on crazy Kenyan roads, punctual at every time, he stops whenever we wanted in the park and the most important - he knows the animals behaviour so we always had the nicest place to observe animals among all the cars in national park. We were booked in amazing lodges inside parks, which was truly beautiful experience. I can recommend this agency anytime.

We had an amazing 5 days in Kenya exploring Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara with Explorer Kenya and our driver/guide - James. James has over 27 years of experience and it clearly shows. He knows how the animals behave and the most likely spots to find them and there were definitely times we were the first ones to spot an animal before all of the other trucks arrived. We saw all of the big 5 in the first 2 days of being on safari. His truck was always clean each morning (even after going through mud puddles) and I love that the Explorer Kenya has a mechanic check the safari vehicle before it is cleared for every trip. We would absolutely use Explorer Kenya and James again in the future!

We had a fantastic time on our tour to Masai Mara, and Lakes Navaisha and Nakuru! Douglas was just great! Helpful, informative and fun! He looked after us incredibly well - introducing us to Kenya culture, all the wildlife and making sure we were comfortable in our hotels!
