Giraffe Centre Visit Nairobi

We had a wonderful trip to the Giraffe Centre. Our guide Kelvin could not have been more helpful. He arranged a private pick up from our hotel to the centre and liaised with me all the way He was very knowledgable about the history of the centre and the various types of giraffe found in Kenya. He knew all the best spots for photographs and took some excellent ones of us. Feeding the giraffes is a big highlight, we did not feel rushed and had plenty of time for questions I would recommend this tour and Kelvin is one of the most experienced guides. After the experience he drove us back to our hotel as well

I was traveling alone, so needed someone to take plenty of pictures and videos, and Isaac was very helpful with it, I have great memories :)

Kelvin picked us up and drove us around for our experience. He was very knowledgeable and also helped us avoid/ minimize waiting time. The giraffe area was a fun experience, and we also stopped by a little market and restaurant. Would definitely recommend it!

Kelvin was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Feeding the giraffes made us all smile and learning about the different species was very interesting. The tour was finished with a trip to a ceramic bead and leather making enterprise with a vocal performance full of joy at the end!

It was fabulous to learning and feeding the tallest animal in the world.

Our flight arrived 2hrs later than what we anticipated and we only had 20 minutes at the hotel to turn around to get out on the tour. “No problem” said Kelvin (who had been in contact with us since we touched down at the airport), Have you had a coffee and breakfast?” And that set the tone for the whole morning. He took us to a cafe enroute and while we feasted on the breakfast menu, he gave us an introduction to Kenya, Nairobi and the surrounding counties. He was totally captivating and so charming. The giraffe centre was brilliant, all the giraffes and warthog were hungry for people to feed them and Kelvin took lots of great photos on our phones so we could enjoy the experience without have to worry about those insta-poses. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to the bead factory (I was in need of sleep) but I am so pleased we did. It was a heartwarming and empowering experience, the welcome song was fantastic and chatting to the ladies crafting the beads through every stage of manufacture was as if we were old family members. We all wanted to buy beaded products in the shop afterwards to celebrate their achievements. All in all a brilliant first day in Keyna, all made possible with Kelvin’s caring and welcoming attitude

Tour operator called me while I was outside awaiting pickup and told me the driver will be there in 30 minutes. So the driver will be 30 minutes late? 🤨 the excuse was traffic. That’s not MY problem is it ? The driver should have left earlier. I called Viator to request a refund, but instead we decided to reschedule for the next day. Tour was ok no complaints. I would not use this tour operator again because they don’t value my time. A few minutes late is understandable, 30 minutes late is unsatisfactory.

We had a great time visiting the giraffe centre and Kobe beads. Kelvin taught us a lot about giraffes and helped us feed them! This is a must do tour. Kelvin is a great guide and driver. He explained lots to us and answered all our questions, and took photos throughout. He is also very funny and made it a very enjoyable tour!

It was awesome feeding the giraffe and learning about them with Kelvin

Actually went for two tours: Nairobi National Park and Giraffe center, both on different days. Kelvin was our tour guide on both occasions. We had a little miscommunication at the beginning but it got sorted out. Kelvin was so courteous, patient and gentle. He explained a lot of things to us. I enjoyed the Giraffe centre tour a lot because we got to feed the giraffes and he explained so many things to us. Overall, it was a lovely experience with a wonderful tour guide.
