My guide Stephen Mutuku was extremely knowledgeable. Had a great vehicle. He was courteous and on time. As i was travelling solo i felt very comfortable. He was able to ensure I got the best photos of the giraffes and we had lots of time there. He made sure we arrived in plenty of time for the 1 hour feeding of the orphan elephants which only happens once a day. He made sure i was in the right spot for the orphan elephants. He gave me lots of information at both places..i had a lovely lunch and then had great interaction with the ladies at the bead factory. Can highly recommend this company. Had a great day

A perfect day and perfect experience. John was a fantastic tour guide. He was friendly and offered to take photos for me as I was a solo traveller.
Our guide, Stephen Mutuku from Gracetapp Eco Tours, was fantastic. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, and went above and beyond to show us around Nairobi and take some great photos for us along the way. The Giraffe Centre and Kobe Beads were amazing and didn’t feel overly commercialised. Feeding the giraffes at the centre was a fantastic experience, while visiting Kobe Beads was particularly special. We got to meet the women who hand make the beads, learn about their work, and then had the opportunity to purchase some beautiful pieces at the end of the tour. We arrived at the giraffe centre 930 and it wasn’t overly crowded and was shaded. We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend Stephen and Gracetapp Eco Tours to anyone looking to explore Nairobi!
Our guide, Stephen, had an infectious joy that permeated our entire tour. He educated, entertained and captured this fantastic experience for us. I highly recommend this tour and Stephen. Exceeded my expectations.
John was an exceptional guide. Informative, kind and very pleasant. And the visits to the Sheldrick Trust, giraffe sanctuary and the bead making were superb.
Wonderful day tour. Joe was an absolute delight. We got the best viewing spots at both sanctuaries because he got us there early. Bead factory wonderful particularly as its a women's social enterprise. 5 stars .
Super day out visiting the giraffe center & the elephant orphanage & Kobe Tough beads factory. Our tour guide John was amazing, super friendly and full of knowledge ! I couldn't recommend more ! Thank you again
What a day! John was great fun 🙌 taught me some swahili and took care of all the logistics. His commitment to getting some excellent photographs (and even tiktok videos) was impressive! The Giraffe centre was pretty cool to be so close and feed the giraffes (and get to meet their very distinct personalities). Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is somewhere I've wanted to go for years and it blew me away honestly 🥹 also glad I got to see the bead centre the work they do to empower so many women is inspiring. To round it off had a lovely authentic Kenyan lunch which was excellent Only thing I'd say is be more aware than I was in the souvenir store, there's no prices until the till and I misunderstood the exchange rate so it ended up being some very pricey souvenirs but that's on me!
Everything was great, our guide Stephen was amazing, made sure we had the best spots, wonderful lunch and overall best experience.
Stephen was so patient and helpful, particularly with my lack of hearing, and is a Credit to Gracepatt We enjoyed visiting a community shop to buy souvenirs, feeding the giraffes was brilliant - it seemed the giraffes enjoyed being fed. Visiting the Sheldrick Trust to see the baby Elephants was the highlight for me & Stephen helped direct us to a brilliant spot to see the elephants arrive, near to where the milk was situated & we also got to stroke them. We also had time to browse & buy souvenirs. The lunch was delicious & the bead tour was very informative. The ladies enjoyed singing & then sharing the process & we had plenty of time to browse & buy souvenirs. My only comment was there was not much time to spend looking at the giraffe centre due to fitting it with the time the elephants are fed at the sheldrake trust, but I was glad we were able to fit in all items in the day.
Excellent tour. Our guide Stephen took great care of us. Made sure we had great viewing points at sanctuary and giraffes. Tour had only two other people on it and was very well done.
The day was amazing! Stephen Mutuku my guide was wonderful and perfectly on time! It was actually just me booked onto the trip and he was very reassuring and knowledgeable. We went to a small cafe first and then headed to the giraffes. It was amazing and you can feed them so easily! Then we went to the baby elephant orphanage. After we went for lunch at a great restaurant and then headed to a bead production and store. It was inspiring as it is mainly aimed at helping women and girls earn an income. Then finally we went to see some cultural/tribal dances which were amazing.
Great experience. After some trepidation of booking with Grace Patt after reading on the Shekdrick Wildlife Trust website that you should book direct with them my fears were totally relieved. Steven from Grace Patt picked us up from our hotel and the day was wonderful. He took photos of us with the giraffes using our cameras and phones that we wouldn't have had otherwise. He helped us to have a perfect vantage point for seeing the elephants. Its quite chaotic to enter and Steven made it seamless. We could not be more pleased with his services as a guide. I would not hesitate to recommend Grace Patt as a company for the day trip to see the Giraffe Centre and Sheldrick and the Bead Factory. There was no pressure at the bead factory to buy and it was an interesting experience. Beautiful people. Thank you Grace Patt and full thanks to Steven our guide.
John the driver is amazing, super accommodating, kind and knowledgeable and even acted as my Personal photographer for the giraffes. Can’t recommend this tour option enough!
Our driver John was fabulous! He was punctual, attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. With amazing tours, the day couldn’t have been better! Our driver turned us over to our tour guides smoothly, and he picked great cafes, restaurants and shops for us to visit. Both the David Sheldrick Foundation and Giraffe Center were well managed, super informal, and welcoming. I’d do this day again in a heart beat!
A really fun adventure. It’s so great to see the line of baby elephants running for their gigantic bottles! Then the slightly older group arrives. Get there early for the best viewing position but since they limit numbers, there are really no bad spots. We loved it and we especially loved knowing that our money will rescue more babies. We had an extra treat with a very tiny rhinoceros, but I’m not sure you can count on that.
I’m a solo traveler with limited mobility. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right tour that will accept you. This one did. My driver was Stephen Mutuku and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his services. He made sure I got the best spot for elephant photos and even took photos for me. Great memories and thank you so much.
Amazing experience. Peter was super nice and friendly. Would give it 10 stars if I could! The beads center was an incredible experience for the end of the tour
I went on this tour solo and met such a lovely group, that felt like friends. Stephen our driver and tour guide was amazing! Stephen was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, fun and took the best pictures of me while at the Giraffe Center. He also took us on a lunch stop at Utamaduni which was delicious. I really enjoyed this trip and can’t thank Stephen enough. All of the tours were very informative and I left feeling more aware and appreciative of all of the hard work in conservation efforts taking place in Kenya. The elephant orphanage and Girafe center were both educational and exciting. I also enjoyed seeing the ladies at the Kobe Tough Bead center, singing and making stunning handcrafted beads, accessories and clay sculptures.
Our day started by visiting the Giraffe Centre, feeding the giraffes and receiving an educational talk about the work they do. We then travelled to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where we got to see the baby rhino and elephants and learned about their stories. We finished up by visiting the Kobe Tough Beads and Leather factory which was fascinating to see the great work the women do there. This is such a great trip and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Nairobi. Our guide, Stephen, was fantastic and looked after us really well and got us a great spot at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see the Rhino and Elephants. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was the standout moment in the trip, seeing the work they do is heartwarming and brings some hope for humanity.
We had the pleasure of spending the day with Joe. An absolute star, he made an amazing day extra special. I hope our paths will cross again some day!! This tour is amazing, to be able to get so up and close with these beautiful animals was brilliant. The bead centre was also amazing, so many lovely ladies working there. It was great to see how they make their wares and they even gave us a lovely song and dance at the end. A great day out!!
Our guide, Stephan, was outstanding. Loved both sanctuaries. Where he took us for lunch was beautiful and delicious.
Our guide picked us up directly from our hotel and got us safely and on time to all stops on the tour. We greatly enjoyed the giraffes, elephants, and bead center. It was a good day trip in Nairobi.
I was fetched by Stephen on the morning of the tour. He was warm and friendly. We fetched another guest and then headed to the Giraffe centre. We learned about the reason for its existence and information about the Rothschild giraffes. We were able to interact and feed the giraffes who wander across from the neighboring conservancy. Then we headed to the Elephant orphanage, where we were given an informative talk about the incredible work they do - rescuing, caring for and releasing the orphans. We watched a morning feed and were able to experience the babies, up close. The Bead factory was a wonderful opportunity to see what opportunity can give people who otherwise would have slim prospects of supporting themselves and their families. The work is of high quality and the shop had a great selection of belts, bags and beads. I had a truly memorable experience in Nairobi. I would highly recommend this tour. Stephen was a great guide and answered all our questions. He allowed us time to wander around after the visits to look at the incredible work that was available to buy. Just go!
Meshack did a great job getting us to all the venues on time with a lot of time for shopping. He was very informative and we had a great day. The giraffe park and elephant orphanage were the highlights.
I had booked this tour weeks beforehand and was so excited to be going to visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. I received an email on the morning I was expecting to be picked up, cancelling my tour. This was the number one reason I was coming to Nairobi and to be let down at the last minute by the tour operator was just so disappointing. I was then left not able to make any plans for the day and had a wasted day in Nairobi.
The orphanage is saving many young elephants. It was such fun to watch them run to the Feeding Area, where they received their giant bottles of milk. These animals are clearly happy, healthy, and feel very safe. Without the shelter, many young elephants would perish. Our visit was heartwarming and certainly worth the time. Make your reservations early since the number of visitors is limited. Or, book through one of the tour operators who have blocks of tickets available. We left with a big smile on our face!
This was the highlight of my trip to Nairobi. To see these magnificent animals up close was amazing. Our guide Wellington was very helpful. Highly recommended
This was a great way to see several key attractions in Nairobi! Wellington was such a great guide from messaging to confirm details the night before the tour to after we were dropped at our accommodation. He was keen to provide details about sites along the way to our tour destinations. I’m thrilled with the experience and highly recommend it to others.
Wellington was an amazing and kind tour guide. I went on several tours while in Nairobi and all of my guides were good but Wellington stood out among them. He took good care of me, provided updates on next steps, and even took photographs of me while on tour. I am extremely pleased with him. I wanted so much to see the giraffes and the baby elephants. This tour was phenomenal!!
Everything about this tour was amazing. My driver, Titus, communicated with me the morning of and confirmed pick up time. He arrived on time! He drove our small group in the van safely. At the giraffe center, we were the first ones to arrive. It wasn’t busy so there were great opportunities for pictures! The elephant orphanage was nice and the bead center was inspiring. Buying beads goes to a great cause for Kenyan women who are widowed/single. Thank you Titus and hope to join you again in the future. Highly recommend!
Nice tour, driver was friendly, and the tour itself was very good. I was afraid to have only 1 hour to do the Giraffes, but to be honest, 1h is more than enough, it's amazing but it's very small with just a few Giraffes to feed. However it could be better to notice the customer 1 day earlier the exact pick up time: - Since I booked weeks ago, it's good to "break up the silence" and make customers sure the company will really do the tour. - I asked the day before for the confirmation via Viator platform, they didn't answer here - Hopefully I was 15min. earlier waiting for the tour, and then in a minute the driver already arrived - The next passengers in another hotel booked for 8h30 (at least they stated that to me), and we arrived there at 8h00. Luckily, they were already prepared, so we delayed only 10 minutes (apart this delay not being a problem, since we still had to wait 30 minutes in a souvenir shop since the Giraffe center opens only at 9h00).
Fantastic day trip and a great experience with Meshack! He took very good care of our group. He got us everywhere on time and was very knowledgeable about Kenya. He was even able to get us into the Sheldrick, which is becoming more difficult these days.
Great tours and our guide was very nice and helpful. Had an early start but it was nice because it was not to busy at the giraffe center and the elephant orphanage was nice as well.
We had an amazing time during this tour! Our guide Wellington was very kind and knowledgeable! He answered all our questions and made sure we had a good time at every stop. The giraffe center and elephant orphanage are definitely two spots not to miss for anyone visiting Nairobi. The beads center was also a very interesting place where they do very important work for Kenyan women. Overall a great day with Wellington!
Our driver arrived on time..the car was great.we drove through the beautiful regions of Nairobi and had a wonderful time
This was an awesome tour. Safik was the best guide! He was incredibly kind, punctual and catered the tour exactly to what I wanted to do. I cannot recommend this tour enough, particularly if you have Safik as your guide!
Great Trip. Our tour guide Wellington was exceptional from start to finish. Communicated pick-up time that morning again via WhatsApp and explained full details. Got us to Giraffe Centre first in and took some great pictures for us. Was always ahead of queues and answered any questions. Would definitely recommend
Our guide, Wellington was very friendly and on time. He drove us safely. Once he had collected everyone, he told us the itinerary for the day. He also shared his knowledge about the giraffes and other animals as he's also a tour guide on safaris within Kenyan national parks.
This was such a fun day! Wellington was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and helpful and friendly, & all of the animals and people we met along the way were lovely! Thanks!
Wonderful experience! And or guide Wellington was great. Very friendly, and was great at communicating. Would highly recommend this trip to friends and family.
It was a great experience. We got to feed the giraffes, pet the elephants and see how beads are made from the beginning to the finished product. The bead factory is also great to buy a few souvenirs for your family and friends. Our driver/guide Wellington was really nice and although my companion was stuck in traffic, he found a way to pick her up. I can recommend 👍
Our guide Titus helped arrange the tour well despite the heavy traffic in the morning. We managed to finish all the spots with ease and have sufficient time to spend time on each place.
This tour was great given that we booked it last minute the night before. Going to the giraffe centre first was a great first activity in Kenya! We were enough time at each place, and our driver Paris was great. The elephant sanctuary was really informative and it was refreshing to see Kenya are working on improving standards for wildlife! We also took a detour to a pottery factory Kazuri, and it was amazing to see how this factory helped single mothers with healthcare and employment. We did stop at a Maasai Market - just be advised that this isn’t on the itinerary, and the locals are very keen to sell you souvenirs, and this can be slightly overwhelming! Overall a great trip and would definitely recommend if spending a day in Nairobi!
If you’re shopping around, search no more! What an amazing experience and our driver/guide Stephen was what made the biggest difference. He picked me up promptly at my hotel, we picked up a second person and headed to the giraffe centre. We basically had the place to ourselves. He worked hard taking pics of us and getting the better food pellets. Off we went to the elephants where we magically got to the front of the line. We were first in there and got the best spot: front row, sun behind us, under a tree. Again, it was Stephen that made this go from a great experience to an unforgettable one. Book and enjoy!
Today we visited the giraffe centre and elephant orphanage with our guide Stephen mutuka from the moment Stephen pick us up at our hotel he was amazing so polite funny and informative he brought us to the giraffe centre first to avoid all the crowds and we got the most perfect photos to and quality time with the beautiful giraffe Stephen took many of our photos and told us exactly how to get the perfect photos we then visited the elephant orphanage and Stephen gave us alot of local knowledge along the way about narobi at the orphanage he showed us the best place to stand to see the elephants and ensured we were there early enough to get the right spot !! Stephen is an excellent guide with lots of knowledge very helpful and friendly he really made our day more enjoyable and memories we will have for a lifetime thankyou Stephen can not recommend this tour enough must visit
We booked our tour through Viator before we left the UK. We had a one day stop over in Nairobi due to our safari flights and, as a honeymoon gift, some friends had paid for us to do this tour. Stephen was our guide and turned up bang on time at our hotel to pick us up; he was very friendly and knowledgeable and couldn't have done more to make the day special for us. Stephen made sure we arrived at the Giraffe sanctuary early in order to avoid the crowds and we had great fun feeding the giraffes whilst Stephen took lots of photos for us. After this we went to the Elephant Orphanage and Stephen made sure we were in a good place in the queue to allow us to get the best spot once they opened the gates. He clearly knew what he was doing and he got us into a position where we had a fantastic view of the elephants and got to stroke them; one even took a bit of a liking to me and headbutted me a few times! Once we were finished at the Orphanage, Stephen took us to a lovely restaurant to order our lunch and whilst they prepared it we went along to the bead factory where we had a guided tour and were amazed by the patience and dedication of the women who work there. We picked up some souvenirs in the shop before heading back for our lunch, which ended up being one of the best meals we had whilst in Kenya! After this Stephen drove us back to the hotel and gave us a fridge magnet of a giraffe as a gift. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic day, it was made relaxed and enjoyable by Stephen's superb proffessionalism and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour.
