Had a brilliant day tour to Hell's Gate Safari with guide Sam and Simon. Sam was very punctual with the pick up and got us there in good time so we could enjoy all the amazing sights that this unique park had to offer, highly recommended

this is the only National park in Kenya where visitors are free to walk and was named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the rift valley. It's an ideal family gateway for day trips from Nairobi. The park is famous for its natural hot geysers, rock climbing, vulture breeding grounds, and special location to view the Fishers towers formally a volcanic rock Obsidia a striking black glassy rock formed from cooled molten lava, geothermal power plants. you will go down the gorges for a walk and see the hot springs and the hell channel which hosts the hells bedroom and hells kitchen. cycling through this park will be an option that brings real adventure. The game to view here includes; Buffaloes, Masai giraffes, zebras, and different antelopes.
After hells gate, will be a good time to visit the freshwater lake situated next to the park for your optional lunch and boot riding at lake Naivasha crescent camp with a good breeze on the lake. you will opt to do boat riding to go closer to Hippos and many aquatic birds including the fish eagles. after this will be a good time to start your journey back to Nairobi arriving before the sun set.

Our guide Sam was on time and both helpful and friendly all day. There is quite a bit of driving at least 2 hours in each direction with some busy roads. Seeing the Great Rift Valley was fun. Hells Gate NP required another guide, the canyon was wonderful. The boat ride on Lake Naivisha was also very worthwhile. Note, the boat trip is an extra $25 pp.
We did have a good time in Hell gate where we walk and hike through the stunning African landscape that inspired iconic movie scenes. Thanks to Dismus and Lemai, our guides who gave us their time beyond expectation. They know a lot about plants and animals, which made our time in Hell's Gate more engaging, educational, and truly unforgettable.
Our trip was made really simple and smooth due to the detailed information that our guide Sam gave us. He was extremely useful, helpful, and super friendly / easy to chat to. He also let us customise our trip by going to the crescent island which is not in the original itinerary. I’d strongly recommend this activity, the park and the island are very beautiful with lots of incredible wildlife to see.
The actual tour was awesome. However, Viator was not forthcoming about the fees. I booked an all-inclusive, and Viator told me it covered the park entry fee, bike, and boat. I noticed on my ticket that none of this was covered despite the voucher stating it was all inclusive. I spoke with 3 different agents that assured me that I didnt have any additional fees, but it was a lie. I finally got one to include the park entry fee to the park. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, but make sure you get all fees confirmed upfront. All inclusive wasn't inclusive of anything at all!
Terrific tour guide. We had a blast. Sam was on time and reliable. He made me feel safe and we had a great day. It was a special experience.
Great experience! Titus was a skilled driver on the crazy roads. Captain Paul got us really close to the animals by boat on the lake. Gomez was super entertaining in the gorge. Lovely day trip from Nairobi, well organized.
A beautiful daytrip, well guided. Denis is a responsible, experienced driver with patience to answer all my questions.
Great activities, especially boat ride and hike in gorge, except long ride there and back with lots of traffic. Also confusion over whether admission to park was included as stated.
Driver Sam was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip. On the first day, he assisted me with getting a local SIM card and exchanging currency, which made everything much easier. He was always respectful of our preferences and gave us the flexibility to enjoy the tour at our own pace. His driving was safe and smooth, and he also shared interesting information about the places we visited. Thanks to him, the whole experience was very comfortable and stress-free. I highly recommend Sam as a driver for anyone visiting Kenya!
Loved all parts of this tour, from the hike through Hell’s Gate to the boat trip on Lake Naivasha. Sam, our driver, Robert, our tour guide at Hell’s Gate, and Jeffrey, our boat captain at Lake Naivasha, were all amazing. Would recommend you ride a bike to the gorge at Hell’s Gate and then take your (hired) vehicle back to the start. You’ll get the full experience with enough time to still do the boat trip. An excellent experience.
Really enjoyable : well worth it. Lots of steep walking into and out if gorge. Very interesting things to see and the animals we saw were amazing.
My family and I had an amazing time on this Hell’s Gate tour! The gorges were such a beautiful sight to see. The company crew that traveled with us for the day were great as well, definitely recommend this adventure during your stay. Don’t forget to wear comfy shoes for the hike (; & the extra boat ride is definitely worth it if you are deciding if you should add it on or not!
Well organised tour to Hell’s Gate. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything worked as planned.
My contact at the company, Liz, was really FABULOUS. Kept in contact with me by WhatsApp during my long trip from USA to Nairobi, just in case my flights were delayed. I really appreciated that. Also adjusted the pick-up time, so I could have time for breakfast beforehand. The driver was also very good. Punctual, friendly, informative. The visit to Hell's Gate was also very good, with animals and interesting geology. Would highly recommend.
My arrival as a first time visitor to Kenya had a good welcome from my pickup driver (Kelvin). He not only drove, but took time to explain the country, the routes and culture. Kelvin is a great driver and company. Enjoyed every bit of the experience at Hells gate. My driver (Sam) was punctual, professional, friendly and very very helpful. He made every bit of my tour a delightful experience. He was a total delight. Played Nigerian music on the way to give us a feel of home , went out of his way to provide us with WIFI on the trip, and even helped us bargain at the markets. I greatly applaud Sam and recommend him a 100times.
Steve is a great guy, really knowledgable about the park and the animals. Told some great stories and spent the time and effort to show us very memorable close up experiences with the wildlife.
Me and my friend did a safari with Alex, it was one of our best experiences. He took care to show us everything that interested us, to make stops as long as we wanted and all that with a lot of explanations and an incredible good mood! We saw rhinos, giraffes, crocodiles, hippopotamus, buffaloes, antelopes, lion... And especially A BABY LION. Thank you very much for this moment, it was incredible.
Organisation znd pick up at accommodation went perfectly. National park by bike and on foot was great. Lots of animals seen. The guides were friendly and competent, reliable. You have plenty of time to enjoy the park. It is recommended to go to the park with the council and get out by car. The guide organized it that way. Boating in rain is not possible, as the hippos are then too dangerous. Pricing was a bit unclear.
Watch out! On this tour you have to ride your bike. Can't!!!! There and back it is about 18 km on savannah slopes. I did not realize this when booking. In addition, there was cold and rainy weather around 14 degrees Celsius.... Fortunately, my driver saved the day and arranged with the park that we could drive the car for a small fee. Thank you Meshack! Unfortunately, the German Guide I ordered did not work.!!!! I was a traveler alone and almost paid the price for 2 people. For conditions in Kenya, where the average monthly wage is between €300.- and €400.-. The riders and guides are severely underpaid in relation to tour prices and rely on generous tips. Which I was very happy to give Meshack, because only thanks to him, I experienced a great day. The population of the animals is modest. Be sure to join the optional tour on the lake. Despite the excessive $25.- on the top, besides $27.- parking fee and $10.- for the bike.
