Day Trip To Hell's Gate National Park & Lake Naivasha

Stunningly beautiful park but seeing as how I managed to fall not once, but twice, maybe helmets ought to be offered as an optional add-on to the bike rental? Also, be sure to have breakfast, or consider bringing a snack- doing the full bike/hike is a good distance.

It was a wonderful tour in my trip to Africa. Jimmy is an amazing guide, he talked very interestingly and in detail about every animal, about mountains, faults. We visited Hills Gate and Lake Naivasha in one day. It was my best tour in Kenya, thank you very much

From the moment Joash collected me from the hotel he was pleasant and full of local information. He arranged all the day seamlessly. Had looked at the weather and planned our trip with us. Had a really excellent bike tour and superb boat trip, lots of wildlife including hippos, African fish eagles. Wildebeest, Marabou Stork, Giraffe, Zebra, gazelle, impala and waterbuck.

This day trip was so easy going, yet diverse, exciting and memorable! Cycling, hiking, boat ride ... perfect combination for animals and landscapes. The ride with Victor was so nice, chit chats on the front seat, so insightful and pleasant. A great choice for an eventful getaway from Nairobi.

We had a pleasure to visit Hell's Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha with Jimmy, a great guide and driver. On the way to the Hell's Gate, we had a stop at the top of the Great Rift Valley, with excellent views on this cradle of humanity. Hell's Gate National Park has fantastic landscape and served as model for some iconic scenes in Disney's Lion King. What is unique is that it is allowed to bike there! We did a memorable bike trip, stopping to watch and take photos of zebras, gazelles, giraffes, antelopes, baboons and more. There are no predators in the park, so it is safe to bike. Furthermore, we had a guided walking tour visiting an impressive gorge. After the bike trip, there was a very good lunch at a country club restaurant, followed by a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, seeing (and hearing!) hippos and pelicans and much more. This was a perfect day trip. Jimmy was an excellent guide and we recommend him enthusiastically!

Very well organized tour with the best and nicest driver Jimmy that we have ever met and who drove super careful. You drive 16 km per bike and we saw many zebras and in the distance some giraffes. The walk in the gorge is awesome and we enjoyed the boat ride where we saw hippos and many birds.

The tour was very well organized, with Jimmy as our driver for the day. He was friendly, attentive, and shared many interesting facts about the region. During the boat ride, we were fortunate to see a wide variety of wildlife in Crescent Island. The bike ride through Hell’s Gate offered a great scenery. We had to skip the ride back to the gate due to one of us feeling unwell, Jimmy was quick to respond and very accommodating throughout.

Peter took me on a trip of a lifetime. He was promptly at my hotel at 7am, drove me safely to the Hell’s Gate bicycle rental and Elsa Gate. I then had a marvelous guide who stopped to explain the history, geography of the area, and especially the wild animal’s behavior. The guide was extremely patient and knowledgeable. Peter similarly was knowledgeable and kept me thoroughly entertained. Everything was well organized and he took me to the Lake Naivasha pier where I had a marvelous 1 hour tour and then was shown to a delicious restaurant right there. The ride back to Nairobi was also smooth and quick. I can’t recommend this tour enough! Thanks, Peter!

Really enjoyed the day trip around Lake Naivasha. Biking through Hell’s Gate, seeing animals up close, and the boat ride were all great experiences. Everything was easy and well-organized. Big thanks to Jimmy, our driver, who was excellent, friendly and made the day run smoothly.

The travel there was pure magic, Jimmy provides comedy, facts and knowledge. Makes the pre and post excursions great. The guide, Charles, through Hells gate know everything that was needed and our boat driver Dixon was sharp and safe. Only had 1 day in Kenya to do something, this was worth it.

Would definitely recommend this tour. It was just me and one other person. Jimmy and Dominic were fun and enthusiastic as tourguide and driver. Saw a lot of animals while biking and a lot of hippos during the boat tour. The bikes in the national park were a little bit worn down, and Dominic even offered to switch bikes to make my experience better.

Taking this tour was a perfect decision. It was such an unique experience. Nature is amazing, i was also able to see some lovely aninals while cycling. Boat tour was also exceptional. The driver Jimmy and the guide Domimic were so friendly, kind and helpful. If possible i will chose them for every other tour i go. I highly recommend this tour for everyone who loves nature.

We had a wonderful day on this excursion to Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha. Our driver Peter arrived at our hotel early and gave us lots of wonderful information about the areas we were passing along the drive. He answered all of our many questions and got us everywhere safely and efficiently—no easy task given the amount of trucks and traffic on the roads outside of Nairobi! We then had a phenomenal bike ride and canyon hike in Hell’s Gate with our awesome guide Charles where we had several close encounters with animals like warthogs, giraffes, gazelle, and zebras. It was amazing! Next was a beautiful boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see dozens of hippos along with ample wildlife along the shores of Crescent Island before eating a delicious lunch al fresco and heading back to Nairobi with Peter competently at the helm while we relaxed after a long but wonderful day. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, physical day exploring one of Kenya’s beautiful regions!

Our driver, Jimmy, was prompt, engaging and overall a pleasure to be paired with. Though the drive from Nairobi to Hells Gate was long, Jimmy entertained and educated us the entire way. The cost through this company is affordable and competitive compared to other options found on the web. Would highly recommend!

We had a great day: Our guide jimmy was very patient and is a very careful driver. We loved the bike ride among the animals, walking in the canyon. The boat ride was breathtaking with pelicans, eagles and hippo. I really enjoyed being able to discover the island of the crescent from the lake. A good day of discovery since nairobi.I recommend without hesitation!
