I had an amazing day trip to Amboseli, and Joshua was a big part of what made it so special! He is incredibly funny, friendly, and helpful, with an amazing eye for spotting wildlife. He could spot animals from a distance that I would never have noticed myself! He is also an excellent driver with great driving skills, making the journey smooth and enjoyable. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated having Joshua as my guide. He made me feel comfortable and safe, helped me with various things along the way, and made sure I never felt bored. I would highly recommend this tour, especially to solo travelers. Joshua truly made my Amboseli experience memorable!

Absolutely enjoyed my safari to Amboseli. Really loved seeing so many elephants as well as the Kilimandscharo. Sam was a great guide! Thank you so much!
Had an amazing experience exploring the wildlife of Kenya at Amboselli and also watching Mounf Kilimanjaro in the background . The tour guide and his vehicle were exceptional . We had some amazing sightings of wildlife and the lunch catered for was out of the world
Had such a lovely day with Samuel. I went on a private solo safari and pickup was very easy, be prepared to leave early! There was a cooler with water waiting and he was very attentive and kind. Plenty of washroom breaks, because the park is 4 hours from Nairobi. Once in the park, he had guidebooks to help identify animals which was so helpful. Not just to identify, but know their weight and life expectancy. The day started cold and cloudy but we never lost hope to see the mountain. We had a quiet day in the park, but still saw so many animals. The best part was a bull elephant drinking water at the exit gate. Even the park staff didn’t know what to do! On the drive back into town, the sky cleared and we saw the mountain! From very far away but it still counts! I really appreciate Samuel’s kindness and knowledge. I would definitely book again.
Calvin was a great driver and guide. We saw way more than I expected - cheetah, lion, giraffes, huge group of baboons on the move, elephants really close to the vehicle. Our vehicle was really quick getting to the hot spots in time for sightings and Calvin got us good positioning for good views. He was very generous with the amount of stops and patient while we took photos. The lunch was nice too.
Our home base for our trip to Kenya was Nairobi. We did all of our tours and Safaris from there. We saved Amboseli for last since it's the one our family wanted to do the most. Tour Guide / Driver: Joshua our driver and Tour guide was the BEST! He arrived to our hotel lobby before 5am and dropped us off around 7pm. That's a long day. And all the while he was patient, accommodating, attentive, knowledgeable, and had incredible insight of the park and navigating driving. The ride there which can take 3 to 4 hrs each way depending on traffic and restroom stops. This was our last dat and Safari in Kenya and we hadn't seen a Lion on any of our Safari tours. And Joshua came though! He help us spot a Lion and get close. I can't say enough about Joshua and this company and the way they took care of our family. Tips: Amboseli requires a 4x4 Land Cruiser Truck. Do not do a Safari Van to Amboseli, don't do it! You will get stuck. We saw two normal suv stuck on rocks in the mud and their guests experience was ruined. The roads are ruff, bumpy, and full of large and small rocks. Our family of 5 decied to pay for the private tour with prepaid park entry and lunch. And we're so glad we did we didn't have to go into our pockets for anything everything was just amazingly smooth. Even lunch was epic at the lodge eating a delicious meal with elephants in the background was breathtaking. Our driver Joshua just took this experience over the top. Ask for him he was a game changer. I don't know how he stayed so engage and attentive for such a long day. And the driving requires constant attention so we we're all thankful to have him with us on this tour. Amboseli is majestic and we all prayed to see beautiful creation and to return safe.... and that's what happened. Highly recommend this tour!
My husband and I had an absolutely perfect day at Amboseli! We saw more animals than we could have imagined seeing in one place. The lunch buffet was excellent and the setting beautiful. Our guide, James, was outstanding… repeatedly going above and beyond to help us get those perfect pictures of our adventure! We highly recommend Perfect Safari Adventures!
Thank you for our magical trip in Kenya! During one day with our experience Kevin we saw 2000% of places and animals. The moment that will stay forever in ghe heart. Thank you for best service, yoj knowlage and experience.
Great experience and service. the team took care of every single detail, even my drop off back at Nairobi airport for my flight back home.
James was fantastic! Even in the wet season he continuously sought out spots to give me the best opportunity of seeing the animals that were active in the area. He is a wealth of knowledge and enjoys country music.
I had a great time touring Amboseli. Kevin is an excellent guide and took great care of me, making sure I saw as many animals as possible. He’s an excellent driver, navigating the bumpy and difficult roads in the park. I highly recommend this experience.
Samuel was our driver and guide, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. From the moment the day started we felt completely safe, relaxed, and welcomed. There was laughter throughout the entire day and he made the whole experience so enjoyable. Samuel is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the animals, and he shared so many interesting facts along the way. Thanks to his skill and dedication we were lucky enough to see elephants, hippos, a leopard, giraffes, and zebras — truly unforgettable! His communication was excellent before, during, and even after the trip, checking in to make sure we had slept well and enjoyed the day. That level of care really meant a lot. We came away with amazing photos and memories that will last a lifetime. I would 100% recommend booking with Samuel if you want a fantastic safari experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
First of all, we were picked up exactly on time from our location, which already gave us a very good first impression. Our guide, Peter, showed a level of professionalism that is very rare to find. Throughout the safari he stopped the vehicle many times and patiently explained every animal we saw. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to make sure we understood what we were looking at. His patience and passion for the wildlife really made the experience special. Unfortunately, on the same day heavy floods started both in the national park and in Nairobi. This is where Peter’s incredible driving skills really became evident. Inside the park, we encountered water crossings that looked far too deep to pass, but Peter navigated them calmly and confidently. On the way back to the city, the situation became even more dramatic. Traffic was completely blocked because the water was flowing so strongly that many cars had to stop and wait. Peter showed an adventurous spirit and the skills of a professional driver, carefully maneuvering through tight spaces between vehicles—almost like a race driver—but always in a way that kept us completely safe. When we finally reached Nairobi, the flooding was even worse. To our surprise, Peter didn’t even need GPS—he knows Nairobi like the palm of his hand. Instead of staying stuck in the chaotic traffic, he guided us through small streets that probably only locals like him know. Twice we encountered powerful waves of water flowing into people’s houses. It felt like a scene from a movie. Even when it looked impossible to drive through the floodwater, Peter calmly demonstrated his driving skills and managed to cross areas where the water was close to one meter deep. In the end, we returned safely to our apartment. What was supposed to be a normal safari turned into an unforgettable adventure. Several times we were literally holding our breath, thinking we might get stuck somewhere. Peter is a humble, highly knowledgeable person, an experienced driver, and someone who knows both the park and the city extremely well. His competitive spirit and determination to always find the best way forward saved us from hours of traffic and made this experience truly unique. If you ever get the chance to do a safari with Peter as your guide, don’t hesitate, you will be in the best possible hands.
The trip was interesting. Joshua the driver was punctual enough and the journey went smooth. We had lot's of water on the way and food at Ol Tukai Lodge was amazing.
We had an amazing day at Amboseli Park. Samuel, our guide, not only drove safely but also made sure we got the best experience. We strogly recommend this visit! Sadly we could not see the Kilimanjaro as it was a cloudy day but still we felt we got so much in return! The Elephants are simply extraordinaire! Not to forget the zebras, the girafes, the flamingos and much more to see!
Due to flight delays, we (luckily) ended up with a full day in Nairobi and decided to make the most of it. Our guide, Samuel, made the day truly special, and we were fortunate enough to see four of the Big Five. We had an amazing time and made memories that will last forever. Samuel’s knowledge and ability to spot wildlife were exceptional. Thank you for making it such a wonderful trip.
We had an absolutely incredible day tour of Amboseli National Park with our guide, Samuel. From the moment we met him, he was warm, friendly, and welcoming, instantly making us feel comfortable and excited for the day ahead. Samuel’s experience and knowledge truly made the tour unforgettable. He shared so many fascinating facts about the wildlife, and it seemed like he knew exactly where every animal would be. Thanks to him, we had amazing sightings and the best views throughout the entire trip. He went above and beyond to take great care of us—whether it was at bathroom stops, shops, or making sure we always had plenty of water. His driving skills were exceptional, especially on the rocky roads, and we felt completely safe the whole time. Samuel also got us back right on schedule, rounding off a perfect day. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you’re considering a tour of Amboseli, we highly recommend asking for Samuel—he will make your experience truly memorable!
Amazing tour. Amboseli National Park is beautiful. The view of Kilimanjaro is breathtaking. You get to see many animals, we were also lucky to meet 4 lions. The nature is beautiful and so many species to see: zebras, elephants, flamingos, pelicans, jackals, hippo...Lunch was very delicious - plenty of options to choose from. Joe - my guide and driver was super friendly and helpful - I admired his patience since the ride was very long. I am so happy he was my companion for the day. I fully recommend this tour. Thanks Joe:-)
Although there was a mistake with the pickup location, we were grateful for the quick response. Our driver, Fuetus, was polite and cheerful without being overly friendly. His experience was extremely helpful in capturing the best shots of Kilimanjaro and the elephants. For a more luxurious trip, we recommend upgrading to a 4X4 Toyota vehicle and accommodation at Oilepo Amboseli Lodge.
It was amazing, cited 3 of the Big 5 animals. Book with us at Deiniol Tours. We go to Amboseli National Park each and every day.
We were with Samuel a very kind and supportive Tour Guide. He stopped at every Animal and gave us enough time to appreciate it. We had a Great time.
Our day trip to Amboseli was fun but be prepared for a long day. Our driver Mwose picked us up promptly at 5am and we made it back to the hotel around 7pm. Mwose did a great job of navigating both Nairobi traffic and some very challenging roads in the National Park. Mwose did his very best to make our trip memorable and gave us amble time to take pictures! We never felt rushed despite trying to see as much as we could in a day. He went out of his way to try and find the animals we wanted to see and because of his navigation we got to see all 3 of the big 5 that are in Amboseli. He never stopped looking for the lions and we ended our trip with finding 3 females, two big lions and one young one. It was an incredible way to end our Safari. The drive is long, but there were planned breaks along the way, one up for coffee/snacks/washroom/shopping, one lunch at a nice restaurant in the park, and one at the same stop on the way back. Everything was as advertised, with good communication from both the company and our driver. My only complaint would be that our safari vehicle was a van and lower to the ground than a regular 4x4 which probably made us feel the bumps of the difficult terrain more than a larger car. However, Mwose handled the car with expertise and was very cognizant of trying to minimize the impact of the bumpy road conditions. He was constantly checking in on us and taking breaks when needed. I would highly recommend Mwose and would hire him again for another trip.
I did both the day trips to Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. I was lucky to have Samuel M. as my private tour guide for both days. He is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the land and animals in the parks. He went out of his way to make sure the tours went well, with regular rest breaks and plenty of stops for photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru was quieter than usual the day we went but I still got plenty of great photos. Amboseli was great too even though Mt. Kilimanjaro was obscured by clouds.
It was a great experience. Our driver, Festus, was the best we could have ever had. I was very scared about the drive from Nairobi to the Amboseli Nationalparc, but Festus eased my fears and was the coolest and most skilled driver ever. Amboseli National Park is completely different from the Maasai Mara, but the number of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests you see there is simply breathtaking. For us personally, the drive was too long (thats ehy the 4 stars) and we wouldn’t do it again, but the experience was definitely worth it!
What a lovely experience. So glad we did this even though it was a very long day. Our guide, Festus, was excellent for the entire first half of the day. He received a phone call that disturbed him very much and subsequent phone calls also seemed upsetting. This resulted in a rushed ending to our day and not at all like the first half. He was quite knowledgeable and friendly but we did not see as many animals as we expected for our one day. I just hope all is fine for him as he was very nice. I would highly recommend him if he had his problem resolved.
From Nairobi it was a long drive. BUT it’s worth a visit. I got a chance to see environment and lives outside Nairobi along the way too. I really enjoyed it. The park is wonderful-caught eyes to see many animals with help from Jim, our tour guide, driver, ranger - he can be everything 👍 The elephants 🐘 are so cute 🥰 Besides….i got to see lively Cheetahs and many others 🐆👍🙏
This was a wonderful safari. The main attraction of Amboseli are elephants, and they come close to the car, allowing to observe them carefully. You can listen to them eating the grass, which is a special feeling. In the morning, you could see Mt Kilimanjaro, although not clearly on the day I visited. There is also much more: water buffalos, wildebeast, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, a lot of birds, and even some cheetahs! I was very happy with my guide, James. He shared a lot of interesting insights on animals and maasai community. The lodge in which the lunch took place was impressive and the food was great. After visiting Amboseli, there was an optional visit of Maasai village (25 dollars extra).
Tony, my guide made me feel like a VIP all day! He is an excellent driver and a very friendly and professional guide! He went above and beyond for me to see my favorite animals, cheetahs! In the end, we got to see a group of 6 and they came very close to us! We also had great conversations all day and he taught me so much! I could feel he really wanted to make my experience great and I highly appreciate it! Besides the cheetahs, we got to see tons of elephants (literally), wild beasts, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, gazelles, impalas, hippos, baboons and so many beautiful birds! The lunch spot at the hotel was also fantastic, it was a gorgeous view with zebras in the back and I got the best table reserved for myself only! Then we went to the Maasai village which was also a beautiful and very humbling experience! I could not have asked for a better person to take and show me around! I would love to return and when I will, I will look for Tony and will also recommend him to anyone who is planing on visiting!
Tony provided us with an extraordinary day to Amboseli National Park. Tony is very knowledgeable of the birds and animals in the park. We saw so much wildlife, including herds of elephants and two cheetahs on the prowl. The tour included an incredible lunch buffet, which added to the perfect day. Tony with Perfect Safaris is a great choice for a guide!
Be prepared for a lot of dust, perhaps protection for any expensive camera equipment. A great experience, especially the significant number of elephants.
Tony brought us to see lots of animals including cheetahs, lions, elephants, wildebeests, hippos, giraffes and many more.
Samson was a courteous and knowledgeable guide and made sure I saw the things I was interested in. Great conversation and wildlife sightings.
An excellent and unforgettable day. Amboseli is a breathtaking gem, where majestic elephants roam beneath the towering shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. The landscape is a stunning blend of open plains, swamps, and acacia woodlands. Its wildlife diversity, iconic views, and rich cultural encounters make it a must-visit paradise for every safari enthusiast. The buffet lunch at the safari lodge was also perfect. Festus Kazungu was an excellent driver, host, tour guide, and made the day something to remember. Thank you Festus! 😊
I really enjoyed this one day Safari Tour to Amboseli National Park. Pickup was at 5 am at my Hotel. The drive was 4 hours one direction. My driver and tour guide was Mark. He drove very well and careful throught the crazy traffic. After 3 hours we had a short coffee break and at 10 am we reached the park. I was alone on this tour and enjoyed the privacy. The tour in the park was terrific. I saw lots of animals: Elefants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, wilderbeast and many more. Unfortunately the the kilimanscharo was totally clouded and not visible at all. The wonderful and tasty lunch was at a lake and with a nice view, seeing lots of animals passing by. Mark was terrific, making the right stops, explaining a lot and giving guidance, where to go. The drive back was lenghty but considering, that I had only one day of freetime between arriving and a busy work week, it was totally worth it. Thank you!
Our driver plus guide Frederic is excellent and he made possible for us to see all kinds of wildlife such as elephants, lions and many different bird species. He is excellent driver and his driving skill by skill is at racing car level. We had so much fun, the day fulfilled with excitement. Highly recommend
Today was the one of the best days we had in Kenya! 🇰🇪 We visited beautiful park with a lot of beautiful animals and Maasai village. Our guide was professional who told us everything we need to know. We enjoyed our time today! Thank you very much! 100/100
It was a wonderful experience with a great guide Samuel. I recommend it. We learned a lot of new things about animal species
It is a truly great experience. James was so amazing, he made sure we had the best experience. He found all of the animals and took extra time to either drive to them or wait until they appear so we could get a good photo. For example we found 2 cheetahs but they were sleeping behind a tree. After a while James saw an elephant coming and knew that would alarm the cheetahs. They sat up and we got great photos. James spent at least two extra hours ensuring we had the best experience and drove way out of his way to find lions. He’s a great driver and very good personality. The lunch location and Masai village were also great!
What an adventure. Kevin picked me up on time & made the day special. Amboseli is a must see. I saw a lioness, cheetah family, buffalo, hippos, zebras, giraffes, various birds including flamingos, and TONS of elephants. I even watched an elephant fight. The lodge that hosted lunch was gorgeous & the food was good. On the way home Kevin again stopped about halfway for restroom, food, or whatever I might have needed. I am so glad I booked this adventure. It’s worth it. Ask for Kevin to be your guide.
Perfect safari worked with us to organize a day tour flying in and out from Wilson to ambolesi air strip. The day was fantastic and we saw many animals. Logistically very smooth as well.
I booked this tour via Tripadvisor and it was the reviews that helped me and so it seems only right to add to these wonderful reviews and help others in a similar position. WOW. You cannot leave Kenya without visiting Amboseli National Park. Elephants are my favourite animals and so to see the great African elephants at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. No words. There were a lot of tears that day. My dad, my best friend, and I had the MOST incredible day experiencing the beauty of Amboseli. Samuel was our guide and there are not enough words to thank him. He picked us up from our hotel on time, was professional and courteous throughout, full of warmth, and kindness. It is a long day of travelling however soaking up the cultural scenes along the way is just mesmerising and all part of the experience. Thanks to Samuel our journey to and from Nairobi was smooth with the chance for toilet breaks and souvenir stops. We were lucky to see giraffes crossing the Mombasa road and catch the snowy peak of Kilimanjaro as the clouds dissipated. Samuel was passionate about the wildlife and biodiversity in the park and extremely knowledgeable. We learnt lots from him. Together we worked as a team to spot as many animals, birds, flora and fauna as possible. The views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance were jaw-dropping. Binoculars were provided. Amboseli captivated us with its diverse landscapes. Everything from savannas to wetlands. Buffet lunch at the luxurious Oltukai Lodge was delicious and catered to all of our varied palettes. I especially loved trying the national dish of Ugali! A small tip: carry a little scarf to cover your eyes, mouth, and nostrils when driving through the park as the natural fine salt grit can fly about at times. We are asthmatics and were fine but worth noting for any first time safari goers. Special thanks to Samuel for an absolute trip of a lifetime. We hope to be back one day!
We had the incredible pleasure of doing a full-day safari in Amboseli National Park with Kevin as our driver and guide – and it was absolutely amazing! Already the evening before, Kevin reached out to us with all the important information about the tour, which made us feel well-prepared and looked after from the very beginning. During the safari, he knew exactly where to find the animals – especially the iconic elephants of Amboseli. Thanks to his deep knowledge and experience, we had some truly unforgettable wildlife encounters. Kevin is also a very safe and attentive driver, and he answered all of our questions with great patience and expertise. The tour itself was breathtaking – with Mount Kilimanjaro constantly in the background and countless magical moments throughout the day. Kevin is by far the best guide you could ask for – professional, friendly, and passionate about what he does. We can wholeheartedly recommend him and would go on safari with him again anytime!
Really great day with Festus! He was tireless (I think it ended up being a 15 hour day?) and stopped for every animal we saw, always asking if we were good to move on and never rushing us. He stopped for animals outside the park as well. He also provided information on towns on the drive to the park. We saw a ton of elephants, and also zebras and giraffes, gazelles, and impalas. Beautiful landscape. And the lunch was really good!!
What a day of adventure! You will need to set aside a full day to experience this but it’s worth it. I was a solo female traveler with Festus as my guide and he was kind, knowledgeable, safe and prompt. Enjoy seeing 100s of animals.
We had an amazing day. Samuel our guide was great, on time, knowledgeable, courteous and kind. He was very knowledgeable and worked hard trying to find everything we wanted to see which is always tricky in a national park. We were very lucky to see cheetah. It was a long day and Samuel was always cheery and obviously loves his job.
It was an amazing and memorable experience. Amboseli is a great place. Kevin was an excellent guide who made sure that I had some of the best moments. I feel safe traveling alone and I will definitely recommend all this tour.
Thank you Kevin for the amazing experience! We enjoyed your company, your knowledge, all your efforts to give us the best views of the great animals Amboseli has to offer and even with mount Kilimanjaro in the background! Thank you for your flexibility for our last-minute booking, this is greatly appreciated! We surely recommend.
We were a little apprehensive. as this was our first trip to Africa and our first Safari. It was very easy to book through TripAdvisor, with Perfect Safaris, and they quickly put us at ease. Communication leading up to the Safari was very clear. Our time in Amboseli National Park was amazing. We saw so many elephants, several of them very close to us. We were also quite close to giraffes, zebras, gazelles, baboons, monkeys, ostriches and many other birds. We also saw quite a few hippos, not quite so close. Lunch at the lodge was very nice. Our guide, Kevin K. , was fantastic and contributed significantly to our overall experience. He arrived very early, was extremely friendly, and a safe driver. He was knowledgeable about the animals, the park, and surrounding areas. It was a very, very long day but well worth it. We highly recommend this safari!
Amboseli National Park in Kenya is a place that offers exceptional views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the opportunity to observe wildlife, including the famous elephant herds. The safari was well-organized and allowed for close encounters with African fauna. Special thanks go to our guide, Samuel Maingi, who demonstrated extensive knowledge, professionalism, and kindness, making our trip even more engaging.
The trip to Amboseli National Park was an absolutely extraordinary experience that I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. Our guide, Samuel, was the true highlight of this expedition. His professionalism, vast knowledge of the park and its animals, and remarkable kindness made us feel not like tourists, but like friends exploring the wonders of nature together. Samuel passionately shared insights about the habits of elephants, lions, and other park inhabitants, and his anecdotes and trivia added a special charm to the trip. He always ensured our safety and comfort while making every moment filled with joy and fascination. Amboseli captivated me with its diverse landscapes—from savannas to wetlands—and close encounters with wildlife that felt almost within arm’s reach.
