Amboseli Tented Camp 3 Days Safari

Our guide, Michael, was exceptional and made our trip in Amboseli into one our family will never forget! He was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient and good humored and very safe behind the wheel. I would highly recommend!

We had the most amazing safari in Amboseli with Ian as our guide. Ian was very knowledgeable and always happy to facilitate our requests to make our trip memorable. We travelled from Nairobi to Amboseli for a four night / five day Safari. Firstly, we were picked up on time from our Hotel and driven down to Amboseli. The vehicle was clean and comfortable and driven very safely. Whilst on Safari, Ian was extremely accommodating when taking into account our requests for safari drive times, places to go and animals we wished to see. He always contributed constructively and with enthusiasm to ensure that we had the best possible experience before, during and after our game drives. The information he provided on animals, the local environment and history of Amboseli and Nairobi were much appreciated. We definitely valued his experience and company during our trip. We just finished our third 3-day safari in Amboseli and again with the incredible John Kariuki as our guide, and once again, he absolutely delivered an unforgettable trip. If you're looking for someone who combines expert knowledge, eagle-eyed spotting skills, and genuine care, John is simply the best. Amboseli in February was perfect – warm sunny days and Mount Kilimanjaro made dramatic appearances almost every morning , often framed perfectly with massive elephant herds. The park felt alive with wildlife concentrated around the waterholes, and we had fantastic sightings every single game drive. What sets John apart: His spotting ability is unreal – he has an eagle eye for animals and always positions the vehicle for the best photographic angles without ever disturbing the wildlife. We always appreciate his love for animals and the nature. Driving skills are top-notch: smooth, stable, and ultra-safe even on the rougher park tracks. We never felt a bump or worry, which made long drives comfortable. Personality-wise, he's cool and calm under any situation, but incredibly caring. He remembered our preferences from previous trips and tailored everything accordingly. In just three days, we saw huge elephant families up close, giraffes, zebras, countless birds (which is rare in Masai Mara that we went before), and even a few special moments like hyenas and jackals at dusk. We even got to see hyena babies which are my favourite! The Kilimanjaro backdrop was breathtaking – John knew exactly when and where to be for those iconic shots. This was our third safari with John, and he excels every single time. No hesitation in giving him our highest recommendation – if you book with him, you won't be disappointed. My friends and I had the absolute privilege to go on a 3 day safari with Explorer Kenya with Vincent. I have never met someone so happy to wake up and do the job that they do everyday. We got stuck in the mud one day for almost an hour and he handled it with grace and caution. He also was very helpful when going through the reserve with information about the animals and getting us in the best position to see them. Our stays at night were also amazing that were set up through the company.

My guide is job. I was particularly impressed with our guide’s attention to detail and reliability. He was always punctual, never kept us waiting, and made sure the vehicle was thoroughly cleaned every single day. His professionalism and respectful demeanor made our safari experience smooth and comfortable. A trustworthy guide who truly cares about his clients' needs!

We went to Amboseli 4 January with guide Simonpeter. It was a great trip, convenient pick up in Nairobi, stayed 2 nights in Serena lodge within the park. We did 4 drives (2 afternoons and 2 early mornings) - the moment we drove out we saw many animals including lions, birds, a cheetah, elephants and hyenas. Thanks a lot to Simon who made some wise guiding decisions based on his twenty years of experience. Only the Kilimanjaro was hard to spot because of the clouds 🌧️❤️ thanks Simonpeter!

An amazing tour, Godfrey was our guide for 3 days in Amboselli! Godfrey was incredible. We couldn't recommend Godfrey or Explorer Kenya more highly. Godfrey knew everything and he found many elephants, giraffes, hippos, flamingos, lions on one game drive - he is a true expert! We learnt so much from him, thank you Godfrey - it was a pleasure to meet you!

Booking this trip was so easy. Ibrahim was very knowledgeable and a great communicator. He answered emails very quickly and was very professional. We were picked up by Simonpeter and driven to Amboseli. He was a wonderful guide, answering all of our questions about Kenya and its culture. He spoke wonderful English and we had no issues communicating at all. He is so knowledgeable about the animals and the ins and outs of the park and the animals. He pointed it all out and told us the names and behaviors , etc. We stayed at Kibo Safari Camp and loved it. They had buffets for all meals, great accommodations (we did mid-range category) and the pool area was wonderful. The food was great and the coffee was absolutely divine! They did a turndown service where they closed our blinds and put up the mosquito netting. We got laundry done, I got a facial and a deep tissue massage. The massage was awesome! Would totally stay here again. Recommend it highly.

I just wanted to express my thanks for such a wonderful safari to Amboseli last month. I can't imagine a better guide than Peter. He was so knowledgeable about the animals and the park it felt like he could read their minds. His wonderful energy and humor were an added bonus on the journey. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! From my initial communications with Robert to the drop off at my hotel in Nairobi at the, everything was easy and exactly as promised. The Kibo Safari Camp was beautiful. And the price I paid for the safari was an excellent value!

Just back from a wonderful tour to Amboseli and Tsavo West with Joseph as guide. The whole experience was very smooth - Explore Kenya responded quickly and were able to accommodate our requested custom itinerary (2 nights in Amboseli + 1 in Tsavo West) and a last minute addition of an additional friend for 2 nights. Joseph is a great guide - always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, suggesting minor changes to help us get the best experience; he worked hard to create the best opportunities to see what we wanted to see. We had an incredible 3 days at Amboseli. Daniel was the perfect guide. He has an eye for the best safari photos after his years of experience taking groups around the park. We never thought we'd get photos of elephants and lions with the perfect Kilimanjaro backdrop, but the double king got us there. Daniel was pure entertainment from start to finish. His one liners have become part of our day to day chat, and he was very patient with our questionable taste in music to and from Nairobi. I hope we get the chance to do another tour with him. Never say never...

Incredible experience! Company is very professional and promptly answered any of my questions. Sammy was an incredible tour guide going above and beyond to show me the best parts of Amboseli, he even managed to get us to see 3 different lions in one safari! John Kariuki was a fabulous driver and knowledgeable tour guide on our 2 night 3 day trip to Amboseli National Park! Everything from pick up to drop off at our hotel in Nairobi was seamless and throughout the safari, John took care for all of us to take breaks at just the right times, point out which animals and birds to look out for, and explained the next phase of the itinerary so we never had to really ask any questions but follow his lead. Thank you John for such a memorable trip - we'll definitely be back!

A 2 night / 3 day trip to Amboseli. I went as a solo traveler. A most wonderful trip was had from the initial communication, to the ease of payment, pick-up from my home, drive to the park, drive in the park and back home again. Mike Maina was my guide and he was thoroughly professional throughout my trip. His driving was great, and he was highly knowledgeable about all the various animals and birds within Amboseli. He recommended starting early for the morning game drives, so a 5.30am start was needed. This was the best advice as the opportunity to witness herds of elephants and a large pride of lions were all made possible because of the early starts. Explorer Kenya gave various different options in terms of mode of transport, Landcruiser or minivan (I chose the Landcruiser) as well as the option to stay in different lodges at Amboseli, depending on your budget. I stayed at the AA Amboseli Lodge, which was about a 15 minute drive to the Kimana Gate. The Lodge itself was well maintained and I stayed in one of the tents, though they do have options of Superior Rooms and Cottages. No matter which Lodge you stay in, I would recommend to enquire specifically about the type of room you'll be in, or would like to stay in. This will ensure everyone's expectations are met. Overall, a great trip, and very happy with Explorer Kenya, I would definitely use them again.

Went on a short safari week-end which I was able to enjoy a lot thanks to my guide Martin Kamau, who I recommend. We were able to see many different animals (including lions and cheetahs !) in such a short time. Most memorable moment must have been the morning with all the elephants, which came super close of the car and were not afraid or aggressive at all. I choosed the option Serena Lodge and I recommend it too, it is such a beautiful lodge with a nice staff.

I've never been on a safari, but if all Safaris were like this, I would always want to go. The trip was so mesmerizing. The lions, zebras, buffalos, giraffes and do much more.

We had a wonderful time in Amboseli. The planning with Robert was smooth and quick. Our guide Ben took really good care of us, had great knowledge of the park and the wildlife and was a very responsible driver (which is crucial on the Nairobi-Mombasa-Highway). Stayed at Kibo Safari Camp which was excellent as well. We highly recommend this company.

We had a wonderful time, all went perfect well. Our driver Jonathan pick us up from airport and straight to game in Amboseli. Fast and safe driving. We had our little daughter (2y old) in a clean baby seat. Our car, a land cruiser could open totally during games.

We were delighted to be hosted for a second time with explorer Kenya safaris,we communicated with Robert and he provided us with one of the best driver guide Jonathan. Our safari was a memorable one,we were picked from our house and proceeded to Amboseli national park arriving in just before lunch.we relaxed and did a 4 pm game drive for three hours,during our evening game drive,we were lucky to see Elephants grazing in swaps,lots of flamingoes and many more different species of local and migratory birds.amboseli is just a paradise of Birds watchers. Our second day was amazing too,started an early morning game drive at 6:15 am,until 8:40 am when we went back for breakfast and had a wonderful time relaxing at our luxurious Totilis Camp.that evening at 4 pm we embarked for a game drive and our guide Jonathan took us to a very nice evening sundowner spot at the observation hill to have a spectacular view of Mt Kilimanjaro and watched amazing the sun setting. towards, the west.our evening was awesome too with lots of elephants hippos and different kinds of gazelles.we went back to our luxurious camp for overnight. Last day at Amboseli; we woke up as usual on this day at 6 am went out this time hoping to see the cats,surprisingly we were able to find lions relaxing few meters beside the road,these crowned our safari experience. Just got back from a 3 day safari with our guide SAMMY!! He was phenomenal! He gave us expert advice about Kenya and it’s history with the National parks. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about about the most minute details regarding all things related to animals. Amboseli was beautiful and easy to get to from Nairobi. Finally ALL COVID -19 measures were taken by Sammy to keep us safe from start to finish. THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I spent three days at Amboseli with my guide, David. Had a fantastic time and David was great. i learned a lot from him and having an excellent guide really made my safari experience one I will not forget - elephants everywhere and I even got to see Tim, the now deceased, big tusker and patriarch of Amboseli. I highly recommend Explorer Kenya for any safari in Kenya. Again, your guide will have a big impact on your safari experience and David was a fantastic guide!!

Our family group of 6 people was unanimous in describing our safari experience in Amboseli Park as extraordinary! From the pickup at our Nairobi hotel to our return to the same place, everything went very well, thanks to the professionalism of Ian, our driver and guide. We all really appreciated his experience, his skill as a guide, his dexterity as a driver, his patience, his organization, and his sense of humor. We were lucky to stay at Soroi Amboseli, which is inside the Park. Our dawn departures, taking the breakfast provided by the lodge, allowed us to reach certain points and enjoy Kilimanjaro in the pink dawn sky before the influx of vehicles, and we had some very exclusive moments admiring a family of lions at dusk, without having to rush to get out before the gate closing time; it was great! Ian knew where to flush out such an uncommon gazelle (gerenuk - giraffe gazelle), where to cross the path of a herd of elephants on their way to a watering hole, where to find for sure a large owl living in such a tree, etc... Really great 👍🏻 We were really lucky to come across this excellent guide; it makes all the difference!

We had an absolutely great safari in Amboseli National Park! The scenery, with its impressive views of Mount Kilimanjaro, completely enchanted us, and the wildlife was simply breathtaking – elephants, lions, zebras and so much more, all up close.
