The safari in Kenya was a wonderful experience that allowed me to live truly unforgettable moments. Observing wildlife in its natural habitat, in such an immense space and in total freedom, was deeply memorable. We had the opportunity to see the Big Five from a surprisingly close distance, along with many other species, making every game drive unique and thrilling. One of the main people responsible for making this trip so special was our driver and guide, Benson. His deep knowledge of the savannah and wildlife, combined with tremendous dedication, friendliness, and availability, made all the difference. He played a decisive role in ensuring we made the most of our time and learned as much as possible over several days. As an area for improvement, I believe the trip would have benefited from keeping the same driver and group throughout the entire itinerary, allowing for a more cohesive and smooth experience. Regarding the accommodations, I feel some could have been better selected, although the opportunity to stay in a tent and a cottage was particularly positive and added great authenticity to the journey. Overall, I am left with incredible memories of an enriching trip. With a few organizational adjustments, the experience could be even better. A very special thank you to Benson for his exemplary professionalism, dedication, and kindness!

You will have a brief stop over at the great rift valley view point on the way to maasai mara. Originally named the ‘Great Rift Valley’ by British Explorer John Walter Gregory, the Rift Valley is a geographic stretch extending 6000km across the Middle East and Africa from Jordan to Mozambique. The valley encapsulates tremendous changes in topographic diversity with its scarps and volcanoes, lakes, ancient granitic hills, flat desert landscapes and coral reefs and islets. The astounding view, as you approach from Nairobi, Kenya is quite unbelievable. To show you just how expansive the rift is, the ground unexpectedly disappears from under you, extending thousands of kilometers in either direction. An excellent starter to the Kenyan Rift Valley, it may appear, the most amazing part of this experience is sinking deeper to explore the Lake System of the Rift

We booked the = 7 DAYS, 6 NIGHTS PRIVATE SAFARI TO MASAI MARA, LAKE NAKURU, NAIVASHA/HELLS GATE AND AMBOSELI = and had the experience of a lifetime!! From contacting with the office with Damaris with her excellent and responsive communication and planning skills to the amazing driver skills, knowledge and professional attitude of our tour guide and new friend Ronnie… this company offers it all. A special thanks to the both of you, for making a truth fairytale become reality for the both of us. We enjoyed each minute of this wonderful safari which we would recommend to everyone and it was worth each shilling. We were spoiled to see the big 5 and ugly 5 all in this tour. Thrilling moments like seeing a cheetah in the first 5 minutes of the Masai Mara, seeing an active leopard, being in the middle of a playful lion familywith cubs in Nakuru, running Pumba families, an incredible African sunset in Amboseli, lined up migrating elephant families, running ostriches, migrating Zebras and wildebeasts, making pictures in Naivasha with hippos close to us, and so many more moments with the incredible animals and nature Kenya has to offer…..these moments are written in our memories forever and still bring us the goosebumps. All of this guided by our heartwarming driver Ronnie which became a friend for us and the very welcoming crew of all the beautiful lodges and camps (Mara Paran, Lake Naluru Lodge, Country club Naivasha and Praro Amboseli) we stayed, who always served us to the maximum. Nothing is too much for these people and a special thanks to Lake Nakuru lodge for making an unforgettable birthday with private dining and cooking under the stars and bringing the African energy with dancing and singing. A big thanks to all of the wonderful people for making this happen. We can assure booking with this company will bring you everything you hope for and we wish everyone the same wonderful experience we had this highly professional company! Asante sana & tutaonane baadye rafiki😊 all the best to all of you, warm greetings Daniel & Christine
They were unforgettable days, organized to perfection. We were immersed in nature, discovering every secret of the savannah and the life of the animals that inhabit it, thanks to the expert guidance of Chris, who accompanied us through the Masai Mara and Amboseli. It was a fabulous journey during which we truly connected with the parks we visited. We saw an incredible variety of species: cheetahs, leopards, zebras, elephants, lions, hyenas, wildebeest, and countless unique birds. Chris’s guidance made all the difference. With his deep knowledge of the protected areas and the species that live there, he revealed the most fascinating aspects of the parks we explored. A visit to Lake Naivasha is highly recommended — an authentic and unspoiled place where you can discover yet another diversity of wildlife. The Masai village visit was also greatly appreciated, offering insight into traditions and culture that enriched the whole experience. Hell’s Gate by Nike was incredibile!!!! Just one suggestion: it would have been amazing also to see the Nairobi National Park, stopping there after visiting NAIVASHA and before the Amboseli. Abbiamo visto tantissime specie: ghepardo, leopardo, zebre, elefanti, leoni, iene, gnu e tantissimi volatili unici.
Great experience from start to finish—booking was smooth and the team was very responsive. The trip was well-organized, with friendly and knowledgeable guides who made everything enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stress-free and memorable travel experience.
Perfect wilderness safaris organized a 7 day safari for 3 of us. The accomodations were great and food plentiful. Even the weather was amazing. Paul our driver was good to find us perfect spots for viewing. We saw the big 5 in Maasai mara, lots of elephants and rhinos in Amboseli. The bike ride in Hell's Gate park was fun with zebras beside us. Everything was well organized. I would highly recommend Perfect wilderness safaris.
A trip of a lifetime. The Safari was fantastic our guide chris was amazing they picked us up at the airport and brought us back it could not have been better highly recommended
The national parks and wildlife were absolutely stunning. Kenya’s nature is truly unforgettable. Unfortunately, the trip was overshadowed by a serious car accident caused by reckless driving. The driver was overtaking on a wet highway, after heavy rain, and lost control. The car flipped onto its side on the highway. This was not an accident due to bad luck, but the result of too much pressure from the company and being in a hurry. This never should have happened. I’m now in the hospital waiting for a skin graft. The company showed very little concern. They only gave a small refund and offered no real compensation or follow-up. It’s also a pity that I can’t attach photos here to show the actual damage and injuries. It was truly severe. Beautiful parks, but I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking. Safety should always come first, and sadly, it was not a priority on this safari. Very disappointed.
I undertook the games safari at Nairobi parks through the intermediary Axis Africa Safari who are a Nairobi based tour operator . They are always true to their promise . We stayed at Jumbo Mara Safari lodge at Masai . It was a resort in the midst of nature and a short distance from the park gate . We were taken in a Land Cruiser vehicle which was most suitable for games drive . Only part we want to forget about is the Masai Village visit . It seems to be quite theatrical . All arrangements made by our operator was neat & classy .
Visiting the Masai mara lives people with unforgettable memories. It's a place where nature speaks and every moment feels like a scene from a timeless story. Witnessing the great migration was a once in a lifetime experience and spotting lions and elephants in their natural habitat exhilarating. The Mara's breathtaking landscape and stunning sunsets added to the magic. I also appreciate learning about Masai traditions and experiencing the local community warm hospitality . Masai mara, you have my heart. An adventure I'll cherish forever.
I’ve been communicating with Clara 8 months before my trip. She’s very efficient, clear, professional, patient and helpful to assist me to complete my bucket list! 🥰 All the drivers/guides are great too! 👍 Strongly recommend their services!
This is a fabulous way to see all the big five, and the other four, except leopard. Both Masaai Mara and Amboseli NP are fabulous so skip the rest if you are short on time. The others do enhance the experience. Who your driver is affects enjoyability. We had Charo who was outstanding.
The 7-day safari was full of unforgettable wildlife sightings—lions, elephants, rhinos, and more—in stunning landscapes. There were some logistical issues with schedule changes, hotel swaps, and conditions not quite as promised, but the fantastic guides and the chance to see so many animals made it all worthwhile.
Very well organised safari tour spotted all the big 5 and the ugly 5. Special mention for our guide and driver Mr.Ronald who was extremely patient and answered all our questions. He took the time to make sure we spotted all the animals. He also ensured that we reached the safari places safely and securely. Overall a wonderful trip that we will remember for a lifetime.
Visiting Kenya was a lifelong dream, and Ronaldo Mungoma, our guide and driver from The Perfect Safaris, turned it into an unforgettable reality. From the moment we started our journey, his warm hospitality, calm nature, and genuine passion for wildlife made every moment special. Thanks to his sharp eyes and deep knowledge of the parks, we were able to witness all of the Big Five—along with countless other animals and exotic birds—across Kenya’s most iconic national parks. His punctuality ensured we never missed a sighting, and his storytelling brought the wilderness to life, making each game drive feel like an adventure straight out of a documentary. Ronaldo didn’t just drive us through Kenya—he guided us into its very heart. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who dreams of experiencing the magic of an African safari. With him, you don’t just see the wildlife—you feel the soul of the savannah.
This was my dream destination and Ronaldo Mungoma guide/ driver from the perfect safaris fulfilled my dream with his hospitality and calmness in showing us all the big 5’s and all the other animals and birds in all the major national parks in Kenya. He was punctual and very informative in detailing all the information needed during our trip. I would surely recommend Ronaldo to any of my friends who wants to do the safari in future. We totally enjoyed the safari and Ronaldo made it even more special. Thanks
The trip was awesome! Our driver Ronald is very friendly, helpful, and has excellent driving skills to go through different landscape. He brought us seeing the big five and other animals with interesting moments! He was patient in waiting when we took pictures. The trip was not too tiring with the arrangement of trip. Personally love the boat ride the most and Amboseli with various ecosystems. Accomodation is satisfying even with budget option. All have hot water supply, despite one having power cut issue due to an accident. Customer service online was very patient in answering my questions too! Overall an amazing trip!
We went with perfect safaris and was placed with Castro. He was great at his job and was able to track down a lot of animals- ie we were the first to see many of the animals before other tour trucks came to the scene. This includes spotted hyenas, groups of rhinos, and 7 lioness crossing the road as well as numerous elephant families. He is good at anticipating when certain animals will arrive at the scene and then putting us in front of the action. We went during the great migration and saw a lot of wildlife, elephants and wilderbeasts. Out of the big 5 we saw 4 and on the side a cheetah and a Savana cat- which Castro and one other jeep was able to spot. We also saw all of the ugly 5. Attention to detail was present. Our tour guide made sure we got to see the sunset (when available) and also tried to do his best so we can see that Mountain from ambroseli park even though for most of the day it was overcast. He also anticipated ahead of time it will be overcast so had asked us to take a picture of the mountain so we don't miss anything. He also has binoculars for on the car that's about 12x magnification. He also diligently listened in on to radio communications for the shared knowledge of where to drive to hone into other tour guides animal finds. Overall our tour guide is diligent, knowledgeable, and experienced. He also made sure we had enough water and would periodically visit a clean bathroom. We were lucky to use perfect safaris. I realized along the way how rare it was to be placed with one tour guide the entire time. Some of the people kept getting switched in and out, and some of them had been switched around 3-4 times already and each time they will wait around like 4 hours for their guide. We had Castro for 7 days. And the lounging was adequate and most of the times it was quiet enough for adequate sleep. The food balance was excellent with ample beans, greens as well as protein selection and was buffet style. There was also fruit. My family ate some of that exposed fruit and did not suffer from gastroenteritis. This was an amazing experience and I would say half of the success mainly comes from who the tour operator is as well as who you get as a guide. Note that you are in the wild so yes there may be issues with getting hot water and dusty roads, you may have to request for hot water because in some cases it will not be automatically turned on, but that’s to be expected because of the remote location. Some recommendations—don’t forget to bring deet ( bug) spray, the beds had mosquito coverings but it’s important to prevent bug bites where you can, they are especially active at dusk and dawn. Also don’t forget that biking is optional at hells gate. If you don’t water to eat lots of dusk from cars and don’t want to bike on a bumpy road you can just get everyone to take the car. There’s a second part in that park that consists of climbing down into a gorge, which is actually kind of difficult to climb at parts without assistance—- I’m talking about paths without railings and also a large gap that requires almost like a leap of faith, and to have bikes prior to engaging in this activity would have made the second part unpleasant. Other major tip—- at one of the lakes—- I think it was navisha there’s an option to go to crescent lake for 50-70 a person. It wasn’t on the itinerary but a nice couple asked for that in addition to the boat ride. It’s a good experience and I highly recommend anyone thinking about this tour to maybe also try that crescent island. It was a walking safari and based on what that couple said, the most famous walking safari in the world. We got up close to a lot of animals including a baby giraffe that was only one month old with its umbilical cord still hanging out. Also saw a tons of zebras ostriches different types of antelopes and even a baby hippo ( from a far) as well as numerous birds and some large rat species swimming in the lake.
What an incredible experience. The 7 days trip was perfect because each place was so different. Every place was just as enjoyable as the last and we are glad we got to visit all of them! The accommodation was exactly as described, quite basic in the Masai Mara, comfortable hotels in Lake Nakuru and Naivasha and a lovely lodge in Amboseli. We enjoyed all the food provided at these lodgings and the places we stopped en route. A special shout out to Calvin our driver for the first 5 days. He was an excellent guide with the warmest of smiles. He was always on time, communicative about plans and full of knowledge of the parks and animals. We managed to see 4 or the big 5 (we just missed the Leopard despite Calvin trying to get us there as quickly as possible!). Calvin also had to navigate us through some towns affected by the protests, which he did without incident. Calvin definitely added to our trip! We had to swap driver for the last 2 days, sadly he wasn’t up the Calvin’s standard but he did get us in some incredible positions to observe the elephant herds. Complimentary airport pickup was a welcome bonus and that was all very efficient. Communication via WhatsApp pre arrival was also great.
Amazing experience to travel to Kenya Safari with Perfect Holidays. They delivered exactly as promised and Betty from the tour desk answered all our questions before we made the final booking. Our driver and guide Chris was very friendly and took good care of us. We made many tavel friends and kept in touch throughout our trips. Will miss them all and will miss Kenya ! All the best !
This safari was a really good experience! The organization went very smoothly it was very enjoyable. Our guide, Sammy, has made our experience unforgettable. He was very well experienced, has done everything to show us many animals, was really convenient, always punctual, tried his very best to make us all happy. It was amazing to be by his side all days. My family and I recommend strongly this safari!
From the 1st interaction with Evaline from Perfect Wilderness over email everything was great she advised on the best option within our budget and time frame, adding on airport transfer and hotel accommodation in Nairobi. The 30/70 payment plan option was great. Evaline was available and communicative on our arrival checking on arrangements and keeping us updated. All the drivers/guides, vehicles and accommodations arranged as part of the package were professional and helpful. A special shout out to Nathan our driver and guide for Lake Nakuru and Amboseli who was very knowledgeable about the wildlife in Amboseli.
We are about to return from a family trip to Kenya and couldn't be more pleased with the services provided by Perfect Wildreness. Our itinerary included a safari to Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Naivasha, as well as airport transfers in Nairobi and a seamless drop-off at Diani Beach. The agency also handled our return to Nairobi via a domestic flight, ensuring everything went smoothly. Damaris, who managed our booking, was simply amazing. She was incredibly responsive to our requests and messages, making the entire planning process stress-free. We felt well taken care of and confident that everything was in good hands. A special mention goes to Chris, our driver and guide for the safari. He was the best guide we could have asked for! Chris ensured we saw all the incredible wildlife, including the Big Four (no Rhinos in sight unfortunately), and provided invaluable information about the animals and the country. His knowledge and enthusiasm truly enhanced our experience, making it unforgettable. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Kenya, thanks to the professionalism and dedication of this agency. We highly recommend them. Thank you for making our family trip so memorable!
We had the most incredible time on this tour. Our guide for the 6 days was Albert, who we thought was amazing. He was always on time and very respectful. During the Safaris, he gave us lots of information about the animals and knew exactly where to go to spot them. Thanks to him (and a bit of luck) we got to see all of the Big 5. He was open to suggestions and made us feel very comfortable. Thank you Albert :)
We loved the 6 days we spent in Kenya! Our tour was: Nairobi -> Maasai Mara -> Lake Nakuru -> Amboseli. Albert was an amazing tour guide who was incredibly helpful. He had answers to all of our questions and gave us a lot of information. He is a great driver and we always felt very safe with him. We would recommend Albert as a tour guide to everyone! Asante sana Albert!
Every guide was very good and well arranged! Save drive, water included and we saw a lot of animals, more than we expected.
This was the perfect trip with “Perfect wilderness safaris “. It covered lots of parks with various activities, landscapes and wildlife. Our guides were wonderful- never rushed, always great conversations and fun to travel with! The accommodations were all very good, each with a unique feel of their own. We will recommend to our friends.
This tour with Perfect Wilderness was my first trip as a solo female traveler, and unfortunately it confirmed a lot of the worries I had going in. The issues began right away with poor maintenance on the safari vehicles. Right away on the first day, our van broke down at a gas station. The driver was able to get the vehicle back running, but it broke down a second time in the Masai Mara National Reserve. At this point when the breakdowns had become a pattern, our vehicle should have been swapped out for one that was running well. Instead, we were kept to this van the entire first section of the tour and the van would go on to break down 15-20 times. These breakdowns each took between 5 minutes to almost an hour to tend to, cutting into our sightseeing time in the reserve. The driver would have to get out of the van each time and tinker with mechanics under the seat, which forced a tour member to also get out every single time in the middle of the park. Eventually, the van started breaking down every time we stopped to view an animal. Included in this was a time we stopped to see three lions. With the van broken down, the driver and one tour member had to get out and open the door to the van with lions a mere 40 feet away. Although the lions appeared docile, making this assumption is extremely risky because you can never predict how a wild animal will behave. Again, we should have immediately been changed to a functioning vehicle, and this would have never happened. The maintenance issues continued with another vehicle when we were pulled over by a police officer in Nairobi, who explained that the license plates had not been renewed. On this leg of the trip, it was just the driver and myself in the van. I was very surprised when the police officer actually got into our vehicle and had the driver pull away. We kept going for several minutes, leaving behind the majority of the traffic and heading into a run down area. The police officer and the driver spoke solely in Swahili, and I started to get really scared. I didn’t know if they were taking me out in the middle of nowhere to be attacked or abducted or worse. Eventually, the driver explained to me that the police officer said if we dropped him off at another location and paid him a bribe, he would forget about the large ticket for the expired license plate. My driver did not have any money on hand, so I had to pay the bribe. I was eventually paid back for this, but if the vehicles had been properly maintained, this scary experience would have never happened. Another mishap occurred when Perfect Wilderness “upgraded” me to stay for one night in Gem Hotel. Right away, I noticed cockroaches in the main areas of the hotel and that my room had several mosquitos and no mosquito net. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed that my arms and any areas not covered by pajamas were covered in bed bug bites. At this point I could only assume it was possible bugs had also gotten into my luggage. Because of this, after 36 straight hours on planes and in airports getting back to the US, I could not enter my apartment and go to bed but instead had to stand outside after midnight, sanitizing every item before bringing anything inside to ensure I couldn’t also contaminate my own home. Although I told Perfect Wilderness what happened right away when I discovered the bites, to this day, nothing more has been said or done regarding the poor choice of hotels I was put in and the major inconvenience it led to. The last and probably worst issue was with one of my drivers. The last three days of my trip in Amboseli it was just myself and the driver in the van. I was initially a bit uneasy to see this because I had intentionally booked a group safari for the sake of “safety in numbers” and not being alone with a stranger. Early on, the driver began making degrading comments about women in general. He told me Kenyan women are all liars, and since sometimes they don't know how to cook or clean that they are worthless. He mentioned that he hoped he could find a fat lady in America that couldn't find a husband and would thus be willing to marry him to get a green card. Then things progressed. He started with saying I was beautiful and describing why my body was pleasing. He asked if I would help him in any way I could to get him to America. He also asked if I would write him a good review outside of Perfect Wilderness so he could promote his own tour company and quit working for them. He continued to say how he would be thinking of me always and as more than a friend. He said he was not sure how our “relationship” would work out since I was not sure when I was coming back to Kenya to see him, but advised that next time I should not book through Perfect Wilderness and instead come and stay with him at his home. All of these things were very uncomfortable because I had shown zero interest above general politeness. He hinted multiple times that he had a friend who married a woman in the US in order to get his green card and that he hoped I would do everything possible to help him come to the states. I did not feel I could call Perfect Wilderness and tell them what was going on when the driver was sitting right next to me, and during the time in Amboseli, there was no cell service for me to send an email. At the Carnivore restaurant, my driver asked if I would buy him a drink. I agreed to this as part of his gratuity, but then he told me he was drinking as a form of “medicine for the bedroom." He asked me if I would have some and I refused. He lamented that he was going home alone after having the drink, called dawa. He then started discussing the reason he was drinking the dawa with the bartender. They started talking in Swahili about me but said enough in English for me to hear the driver say, "How many cows will you offer for her? 30?" The two of them argued about this for the rest of the time at Carnivore. I have hardly been so uncomfortable and humiliated in my life, and I had no way of getting away from him. I was scared because I didn't know what would happen if I firmly rejected him, since just ignoring his advances was doing nothing. I didn't know if he could get angry and take me somewhere other than the airport or leave me somewhere alone with no transportation. After getting home and taking a couple days, I wrote a detailed account to management at Perfect Wilderness. The next day I received a response that they had received my email but they needed to hear from the driver “what really happened.” Immediately I felt as if I had been discounted and they did not believe me. I received a couple more emails from management, each with about a week in between and providing no solution. Naturally, the driver denied everything. When I pressed them, the company agreed to call me over the weekend to come to a resolution. I waited for their call both days, but they never called. I pressed them again and finally received a call. Management was apologetic and claimed they would send me some money back through PayPal. I had requested money back for the days I spent with the driver that harassed me, as I would never pay to feel so uncomfortable and objectified for three days straight. However, no link or funds has yet to come over on PayPal, and the issue remains unsolved over a month later. Be very, very careful before booking with this company. If you are a solo female traveler, just don’t. I was lucky to remain physically unharmed and got home safe, but who knows what will happen to the next person when the company clearly hasn't taken this issue seriously.
With my wife Caro we went to Kenia for our first Safari experience. It was incredible!! Tony was our tour guide, he was very friendly and great answering all questions we had! I would definitely recommend both Spirit of Kenia and Tony!! Thanks for everything! Julian and Caro
As a family of four (with two grown up children) we were delighted with our safari trip. We were privileged to have our driver/guide Nathan to look after us all the way on our 7 day safari. Everything went smoothly as soon as Nathan picked us up from our hotel in Nairobi. Our first stop was the rift valley, which despite being cloudy that day, didn't spoil our view. Arriving at the Maasai, along the bumpy red road, we were greeted with hot towels and a lovely buffet lunch at the Olmoran Tented Camp. Nathan then took us on a late afternoon game drive. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful, not just at this park, but the whole trip. After the Maasai and a visit to the Maasai village (an absolute must - our tour guide Callum was brilliant) we headed to Nakuru for an afternoon. Staying at the Eagle Palace Hotel was great but a bit too noisy as it was in the centre. However, the staff and facilities were superb. Navaisha the next day was one of our favourite days - biking in Hell's Gate and a walk to the Gorge view point with Chaz, our very knowledgeable guide. A stay in the Astorian Grand Hotel was very pleasant. Our last stay was Amboseli and we weren't disappointed with the Reserve (different to the Maasai as it had a lot more watering holes where the animals gathered and a viewpoint where we took a picnic). Our stay in AA Lodges was again superb and we didn't want to leave. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would recommend Nathan as a guide (he is very calm, an excellent driver on the sometimes treacherous roads and had brilliant knowledge of the animals - he had a talent for positioning the van exactly where we could see the animals better). If I was to do this again, I would definitely go with Perfect Wilderness as they (Betty and Everline) have been so helpful throughout (this was originally booked for 2020 before Covid hit). The only thing I would change would be to stay in lodges/tents throughout, rather than hotels (but I'm sure this could have been arranged if I wished it). Nothing was too much trouble for this Perfect Wilderness and I'm glad we used a local company rather than go through an international travel agent as our experience was much more enriched. Thank you to all for making this a fantastic experience.
Stunning nature, great lodges, and the friendliest of people I've ever met anywhere The tour guides we had (Joseph and Santa) were amazing, were incredibly knowledgeable about the animals we saw and the landscape around us, and were ready to answer any questions we had. Santa was especially entertaining and made our long drives and long days full of light and laughter - thank you so much for a great trip! I have nothing bad to say about this adventure. Thank you for a great introduction to the magnificent and beautiful country that is Kenya, and rest be assured, we will be coming back once we have time again.
This trip was one of a kind. We began our journey from Nairobi where our tour guide Ambrose came to pick us up from our hotel. We then went to Maasai Mara stayed there ,then to Nakuru / Naivasha and finally Amboseli. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves, we celebrated New years eve under Kilimanjaro. Breathtaking! 10 out of 10 - Tour Guide (Ambrose) : Our first and last impression of him, was that he was very knowledgeable, professional and genuine.Best tour guide and driver I ever met. He ensured we saw every animal and site we came to see. Furthermore, Ambrose was truly an honest guy, we misplaced our camera and already left the country. Ambrose reached out after finding it and made arrangements for us to get the camera back all the way in the USA. If you get a chance to tour with him, he won't disappoint. #kichwa 10 out of 10 - Destination and animals. The tour is as described. A bit of a drive but very worth it. 10 out of 10 - Communication- The tour organizers and guide were always in communication from booking to end of trip, the manager even touched based with us at the end to make sure we were good and had a great time. 8 out of 10 - Hotels and Food - Most of the stays were good, but I feel like there was room to improve on the accommodation and meals. All in all, amazing, amazing, amazing. If you are thinking about taking this trip, don't hesitate it's very worth it.
We actually went on a 9 day safari with Perfect Wilderness Safaris. I won’t be able to say enough good things about the experience we had. This is definitely the company to book with! There are so many Safari companies to choose from both locally and internationally. I’m so glad that we decided on Perfect Wilderness. My communication with Everline was mostly through email. She answered all of my many, many questions and custom tailored our trip so we were able to experience a little of everything. She was so consistent and thorough and communication with her was so easy. Paul picked us up from the airport in Nairobi. Unfortunately the queue for passport control was quite long when we landed and I was worried he might miss us. I was able to contact Everline and explained the delay. She then contacted Paul who patiently waited for us to exit the airport. Paul was so kind and even offered to drive us around the city. He warmly welcomed us to Kenya and set the whole tone for our wonderful trip. Nathan was our safari guide and driver for the next nine days. We could not have asked for a better guide/driver. Nathan was so kind and accommodating. He is a skillful driver through the busy streets of Nairobi and the back roads throughout the reserves, and was able to spot out wildlife from great distances. We made jokes with him that he has much better eyesight and hearing than anyone else in our vehicle as he was always the first to see wildlife! He made it a priority to see the big 5 which we did and gave us ample time for photos. He made sure to communicate well with us as to the days itinerary and times to leave. The Safari vehicle was cleaned every night as well which helped us see through the windows after a day on the dirt roads. We felt very safe with him throughout the trip and he made sure our needs were met. We had plenty of water in the vehicle and Nathan made sure we had enough wash room stops. He was a wealth of information and made sure all our questions were answered. If you are thinking about a safari or day tour in Kenya, this is the way go. I can’t thank Everline, Paul, and especially Nathan enough for helping make our trip one we will never forget. We made some lifelong memories and friends and Kenya will always hold a special place in our hearts. Tip: If you are going on a longer safari make sure to bring sweets for the adorable children in the villages! We wished we had brought more to give to them.
April 2022, 2 adults and our 3 daughters (ages 10, 13 & 15). We had such a fantastic tour with Simba and everything worked out perfectly. We loved the hotels that were booked by Perfect Wilderness and felt completely safe driving between parks and viewing the animals within the parks. Our guide Simba was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We enjoyed getting to know him and spend time in such a beautiful place. We wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with Perfect Wilderness!!!
When we arrived on Nairobi Airport our driver Nathan was waiting already for us to pick us up. We had booked a private safari for 9 Days. First off all we visit in Nairobi the Girrafe centre and later theDavid Sheldrick wildlife trust Elephant nursery. After that we went to Naivasha for a couple off days to visit some friends and relativs. Nathan brought us everywhere we had to go and hadgreat time. After this days in Naivasha it was time to start our program for Safari from Perfect Wilderness. We went first to the Maasai Mara to try and find the big five. We found a lot of wildlife there and the visit to the Mara river was nice.We found from the big five the Elephant, Buffelo and the Lion. We saw also the Cheetah and the ussual animals. After that we celebrate newyears eve in the Mara we went the following day to Nakuru national park to find more annimals. In this park we found the Rhino. There are not so many Flamingo's as years ago due to the rise of the waterlevel in the lake. After 1 day Nakuru , we went to amboseli National park. This was a long drive trough Kenya but a nice on about the few. When we arrived there in the afternoon we did a game drive and saw plenty of Elephants. But Mount Kilimanjaro was hidden in the clouds. Hoppefully we can see it early in the morning next day. The next day was Mount Kilimanjaro awake and we saw his beaty whit plenty of Elephants. This is the real out of Africa picture that you want to see. At the end of the day we visit a Maasai village. We got a tour and saw how primativ this people are living. After al those days in the African Wilderness we had finished our safari and went to the coast. Nathan dropped us on time on the airport to cautch our flight to Diani Beach.I really thank Nathan for his hospatillity and good guidness in the parks.
Three days in masai mara were enhanced by an amazing hot air baloon fly. Not cheap but worth the price. The Naivasha , Nakuru lake and Amboseli completed nicely this safari ended at AA Lodge offering an outstanding accomodation near the national park . Only regret, the camp at Masai Mara, clearly below average in terms of quality as well as management clearly not up to the task.
Details will follow. Just an appetizer: Mr Joel told me to be ready at the lobby of the hotel for departure from Amboseli at 6.30 am today. It is now 7.40 am and Mr Joel (who is, by the way the owner) is still not here. No info on his part when he will appear, nothing. Very unprofessional. More interesting details about the service of this travel agency will follow. I will most certainly not recommend this travel agency.
My husband and I decided on Perfect Wilderness tours for our safari of July 2021. I chose this company for several reasons- their exceptionally fast response to any questions and concerns I had (thank you, Everline!), the assistance in navigating the unusual covid VISA restrictions on entering Kenya, and the fact that they were willing to work with my preferences regarding itinerary and lodging. I was very glad that I chose this company! We were picked up at the airport as soon as we arrived, given excellent guidance and advice. We saw the amazing animals of Kenya, and were dropped off back at the airport - safe and sound - seven days later. i can highly recommend Perfect Wilderness as well as our guide/driver, Joel! It was an amazing holiday thanks to Perfect Wilderness, and we would happily use them again for our next trip to the area.
If I could give this company 10 stars, I would! My first contact was the tour consultant Everline. She personalized our tour for us making it everything we wanted to see and do, even if it wasn't in their advertised tours. If there was something I wanted to see, she made it happen. I was very impressed by how smoothly she made everything for us and for all of her quick replies. Even when I was there in Kenya, she continued to make us her #1 priority. On safari our driver, Joel, really knew how to spot the wildlife and was very patient with us while we took pictures and took it all in. He kept saying, "This is YOUR vacation" and he did whatever he could to make it memorable for us! Nathan was our driver in Nairobi and was extremely patient while we shopped and went on some tours and never rushed us. He also interacted with us which made the tours so much more fun. Paul was also amazing on our city tour often protecting us from other people and traffic making us feel safe at all times. Even though I didn't have any tours with George, we ran into him during a safari and had lunch with him and his clients. He was so funny and really made us feel like one of the team. Perfect Wilderness Safari's was the absolute BEST tour company I have EVER dealt with and would highly recommend them!!!
Been back a week and can't stop talking about the fantastic experience we had. Our guide George was great, we learned so much from his experience, and had a lot of laughs along the way. We saw the Big 5 and so many other animals. Lodging were clean and staff very p!esent, food was plentiful and tastey. No complaints, trip to remember.
We booked a 6 nights 7 days safari to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Naivasha and Amborseli. We were picked up at our hotel in Nairobi to drive to Masai Mara. The trip to Masai Mara was long but we had enough brakes and the lunch was very good and extensive. After we arrived in Lenchada Tourist camp we started the safari directly. The Camp is very simple but our tent was clean. The only problem was that our toilet flush didn't work very well. Unfortunately, I got sick at the first evening and we couldn’t join the whole day safari at Masai Mara national park. The staff of Lenchada Tourist camp organized a driver to bring us to a doctor and cooked a meal for us after we came back. The next day we started our trip to Lake Nakuru and Naivasha but I wasn't feeling any better and we decided to stop the trip and drive back to Nairobi. We asked our driver if it is possible, because a few people of our bus were driving there anyway. Perfect Wilderness (Everlin) reacted quickly and of course it was no problem. One day later Everlin asked via Whatsapp how I was doing. I was feeling better and we hoped to be able to do the safari in Amborseli and so we asked if the driver could collect us again in Nairobi. Luckily that wasn't a problem for Perfect Wilderness either. Our private driver Ben collected us at the hotel in Nairobi and we had a great stay in Amborseli. Ben was very warm, attentive and explained a lot to us and lent us his binoculars. We enjoyed the safari and were so happy about our driver Ben. Thank you once again to Everlin and Ben and the whole team of Perfect Wilderness. The safari was super organized. We can absolutely recommend it.
We really enjoyed our trip, it was well organised, we had different guide but they were all super kind, professionnal with a hudge knowledge. Every place has its own particularity Massai Mara = lots of animals, balloon safari, local massai village Lake Nakuru = beautiful scenary, rino, flamingos and other species Lake Naivasha = hippo and birds watching + proximité of animals in Hells gâté Amboseli= beautiful and diversify scenary and fauna and nice view on the Kilimandjaro. I think this is a full program that cover any expectations. Higly recommand
This trip was incredible and was made an especially special experience due to our driver, Solomon, who exceeded all of our expectations. We got amazing pictures of animals thanks to him! He is extremely familiar with the parks and was often the first to know where rare animals were.
Perfect Wilderness Tours is a 100% sure company and we honestly were amazed by the quality of service they provided. I luckily found them on TripAd by quotes and now I contribute to it for future travelers. We took a 7-day tour to Maasai Mara-Nakuru-Naivasha-Amboseli (part group, part individual). Everline (tour consultant) kindly and patiently prepared the program to meet at best our expectations. She helped get a good deal money-wise for us to stay in superb hotels in Masaai Mara (Simba+Oryx) and Amboseli (AA Lodge). She tweaked the program so we can have the max experience out of our journey. One thing I was horrified of was sending money (50% of the tour price) to an African bank but It all went very well, I received the confirmation and later in Africa got the money receipt. All 3 our drivers were truly great men: Rahim for MM-Nakuru, Santa for airport pick up + Naivasha and Denis for Amboseli and airport drop off. Nobody tried to rip us off by offering additional tourist attractions or getting tips from us - one thing that happens all the time on journeys like this. One small disappointment was the Maasai village in Amboseli - for 20$ per pers. I wouldn’t recommend it because the tour is too short and aimed at selling you things you probably don’t need. But this money goes to education and healthcare of this community so be it. If you want to buy smth, just give the price you can afford - they will meet you on it. All in all, it is the company I would recommend to my friends. Kenya is a wonderful country, safe to travel in (just avoid walking in Nairobi after 7 pm) and we didn’t even once have a stomach issue. All hotels had bed nets efficient enough to protect our sleep.
A group of four of us did a 7 day safari and would book again with little hesitation. In regards to the communication with the company, we could not have asked for better. The office was always quick to message back and solved an issue when we had one. We spoke with the company over a series and 50 emails and multiple questions/clarifications never seemed to be an issue. We also had the pleasure of speaking and doing a tour with Joel who was absolutely wonderful. In the Masi Mari, we were able to see the big 5. We had such spectacular views of all of the animals, it still does not feel like it was real. In particular, in regards to this safari itinerary (visiting 4 reserves) I was initially a bit nervous that it would be too long and too much driving. After completing it, I do not feel that way at all. Each reserve was different and showed beautiful aspects of the landscapes and animals in each. There was a lot of driving, but it was well worth it. I truly could not pick one reserve I liked the most. On our second half of our trip, we switched guides and were treated with Benjamin. Benjamin was hands down the best guide we had. He was unbelievably friendly and truly made our trip memorable. Benjamin took pride in answering all of our questions and was excited to find out more information hen he didn't know the answer. If we ever come back to Kenya, we would be sure to ask for Benjamin again. I would highly suggest printing and keeping an itinerary with you to ensure you don't accidentally double pay or miss things that should have been on your tour. Overall, I would suggest the company and I would book again. I felt that both our happiness and safety were of utmost importance. I hope to come back and use the companies services again. Again, a big thanks to Benjamin and Joel.
Took the seven-day trip in November 2018 and had an incredible experience. Transportation: The tour utilizes "safari vans" (converted passenger vans with a removable roof that allows for viewing / photos while standing in the vehicle) and you'll be inside of this thing for most of your days. These aren't built for comfort, but I have no complaints. I wasn't about to pay twice as much to get carted around in a Land Rover. Rest stops and water are both plentiful during the long drives. Scenery: The amount of animals you see is obscene. Everyone gets excited about the Big 5, which we managed to see on our trip, but the other less heralded animals are just as interesting in a lot of ways. Still, nothing like having a lion five feet away from your van or seeing a family of elephants right in front of you. Lodging: Improved vastly as the trip went on. Masai Mara lodging was in a safari camp with generators running only a couple of hours a day and spotty/non-existent hot water; Amboseli lodging was in a luxury camp with beautiful rooms, a pool, massages, a fully stocked bar, wifi, etc. Having a more rustic stay at the start of the experience and then easing into luxury at the end was much better than the other way around. Drivers: Outside of the animals, the driver/guides are the ones who make your trip. You're stuck in the van with them for hours on end, day after day, so a little bit of personality goes a long way. Our group had two fantastic guides - James and Amos - and folks I had for shorter drives, like Moses, were also good. I know the owner reads these reviews because I saw him commenting on other posts -- so, Mister Owner, James and Amos are very good. Take care of them! Itinerary: The itinerary gets a little funky on the seven-day tour, as you may be mixed together with folks on tours of other lengths and with other destinations. You'll likely change drivers and groups at least once, and because the various destinations are in different directions from Nairobi, you'll have to circle back through Nairobi on Day 5 on your way to Amboseli from Naivasha. In terms of length, I found seven days to be a pretty good length, although a four-day trip would have covered all of the highlights without a doubt. The only difference with the seven-day trip is that I got to see Hell's Gate (cool, but not a must-see) and got to go to Amboseli (which I'd rank below Masai Mara and Nakuru). If you're short on time, definitely go with the four-day trip. It won't disappoint! Food: Buffet style breakfast, lunch, and dinner were provided whenever in camp, and boxed lunches were provided when on a day-long game drive. I brought a bunch of my own food just in case, but never needed it. You will not starve on this trip. Solo Travelers: I was a solo traveler on this one, and I thought it worked out well. I had my own driver (!) for the last three days of the trip, which was awesome, and when I was with a group, it was a good size (8 including driver) and a good mix of backgrounds. I had assumed safaris were an old people thing (I'm 40, so take this for what you will), but I was easily the oldest person on my trip by about 10-15 years. Plenty of opportunities for social interaction if you desire, but you can also cocoon and keep to yourself if that's more your style. Money: I planned poorly and didn't have a lot of cash on me during the trip, but it wasn't a problem, because in theory you don't have to pay for a single thing once you step foot inside the van. What you WILL want to pay for, though: $20US or 2000KES if you need airport pickup or drop-off, paid directly to driver; Money for souvenirs (you will have ample opportunities to buy crafts and whatnot); Money for beer or liquor ($3US/300KES a drink); Money for tips (get lots of small bills when you arrive at the airport); Money for snacks or drinks at rest stops / lunch stops. For the most part, what you pay for the trip is all you're gonna end up spending, which is nice from a budget standpoint. Again, great experience that I highly recommend. I would return to Kenya in a second.
This tour had a rough start but it ended in such an amazing experience! The first day the driver was late for a pick up to Masai Mara, then our car broke down maybe 30 minutes before our destination. Masai Mara was beautiful just like I had pictured it in my head. Then there was a confusion as far how the itinerary was shown on trip advisor and how the company had made arrangements. I did try to email someone through Viator but never really got an answer about the schedule and if water was included or not. So far I had two drivers said water was not included. However once I went to Lake Nakuru and Naivasha. Paul was my guide and he did offer some water. He also gave me tons of information on how the schedule was going to be and apologized for no one explaining it. Mr Evanson was probably the best guider on this trip. He was so polite and told me the name of every town we were passing by. He was really good on spotting animals. Amboseli is an amazing park surrounded by so many elephants! We also spotted some lions and their cubs! He kept saying looks like today is a lucky day but in reality I think he just knew the time and where to spot them! Really exceeded my expectations because I was imagining just a few animals but it was a lot. I probably have 2K pictures of this magnificent adventure! Highly recommended for solo travelers!
A week's-worth of experiences and a lifetime of memories. The safaris were amazing, we saw all we had hoped for....and much, much more. The guides and drivers went out of their way to make our trip all it could be, were knowledgeable, friendly and you felt it was an honor for them to show us around their country. The diversity of wildlife in Masai Mara was incredible and James, our guide, went out of his way to get us to a leopard sighting when one was reported by other guides. The Amboseli tour gave us unforgettable images of elephant families, giraffes, flamengos, zebras, ostriches and many other animals against the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our guide there, Evans, had a keen eye for the right views and places and also told us so much more about the country's (and his own) history and culture. We couldn't have asked for a better tour; many, many, many thanks to James, Evans, Dennis, Isaac, Daniel and the people at Perfect Wilderness for making it happen!
If I could give this trip a 10 star review I would! This was a "bucket list" trip for me, my wife and my family of 4 kids. Going on any safari is an amazing experience...going on this safari with our guide Sammy was an unforgettable memory of a lifetime. To start with, as we were booking the trip, Perfect Wilderness was very easy to deal with and extremely responsive. We dealt with Beatrice most of the time via email and she was terrific. We have a few dietary and allergy restrictions and they made sure everything was taken care of with no problems. In terms of the actual safari, all of the parks were amazing. We literally saw every animal on our target list, which included the big 5 and much, much more. All of the lodges we stayed at were terrific....the Sopa Lodge in Lake Nakuru is so nice I almost wanted our car to break down so we would have to stay another night!!! The Sopa Lodge in Navaisha is also incredible with wildlife roaming around the grounds. Just spectacular. But all of those things wouldn't have meant as much without Sammy, our guide. Sammy was the most professional, caring, courteous and fun guide ever. I never imagined a 7 day safari with a guide who was so concerned for my family's well being literally every second of the day. We have 4 children (18, 16, 14 and 12) and they all loved Sammy. In addition to being an incredible safari guide (he spots things from so far away....like he has special vision or something?), we learned so much from Sammy about the animals (he knows so much about all of the different species and so many interesting facts), about Kenyan history and culture and so much more...not to mention the many, many laughs we had along the way. By the end of 7 days, he felt like a family member. We just got back a few days ago and we already miss him! Overall, I thought the package Perfect Wilderness offered was a incredible value and I only wish I was doing it all over again! p.s. Since this was my first safari, in terms of tips I would say: (i) binoculars are a must and I wouldn't consider them optional. Whether spotting something far away or even just getting great close up looks of a lions face, they are great to have; (ii) I would bring something better than an iphone for pictures. Having a reasonably nice camera with telephoto lens is nice to have and I felt bad when I saw people that only had phones for pics; (iii) we brought way too much luggage...pack as light as you can; and (iv) both in Nairobi and Kenya it is very hard to get small bills (ie.., dollars or 100 Kenyan Shillings), which you will want for tips and small purchases. We found people reluctant to take our 1000 KS ($10) because they wanted smaller bills. I would bring at least a hundred dollars in mostly small bills if I were to go again.
I had a wonderful experience with Perfect Wilderness. As an amateur photographer, this trip was very important to me. I was able to see amazing wilderness/nature on this trip, and my drivers could not have been better. They made sure that we saw the big 5 in Maasai Mara, and had amazing times at Nakuru, Naivasha, and Amboseli. If you can, request Munteithi and Tony - I believe they're contracted with PW as drivers, and they have such passion about animals. Also, try to talk to them about the animals/wildlife/tribes/culture, they really appreciate engaging and are full of knowledge!
From the first email contact with Perfect Wilderness Tours and Safaris to the safari itself everything has been excellent. We booked a 7 day safari to Masaai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Naivasha (+Hell's gate) and Amboseli via the website. From the start Joel and George were quick and adequatly answering my emails and additional questions with regard to the multi day Safari. The first 4 days consisted of a group safari (Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru). Maasai Mara at the end of January was absolutely amazing. James, our driver and guide was (sincerely) eager to show us the very best of the national park and thanks to him we were able to see the big 5 during the very first 2 days of our trip. Additional to the Maasai Mara safari we went for a hot air balloon flight in the morning which has been a once in a lifetime experience. Just stunning and worth the money. The last 3 days consisted of a private safari in Naivasha, Hell's gate and Amboseli with our guide Sammy. Again this was just perfect. There was a gradual build-up in accomodation (from basic to more luxurious) ending with the amazing Kibo safari lodge at the edge of Amboseli national park. We enjoyed our stay in Amboseli with the gorgeous view of the Kilimanjaro in the background. Sammy was relaxed and showed us the best spots of the park and thanks to him we were able to see large hurdles of elephants from really close and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Thanks to the whole team of perfect wilderness tours and safaris for an amazing holiday!
