Amazing!!!!! Some of the best experiences ever! We did a 10 day safari starting in the Masaai Mara, then Lake Nakuru, Lake Niavasha, Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West. From the initial contact with Big Mac, everything has been first class. John our guide/driver made our dreams come true. He was polite, courteous, very knowledgeable and experienced. We thoroughly enjoyed our safari with him and would highly recommend John, he made sure we saw all of the animals and got the best shots. We stayed in 5 different lodges and all had something we loved. We cannot wait to come back to Kenya and will be choosing Big Mac for our next Safari!

This has been the most magical and incredible trip. We have memories that will last our lifetime. From first enquiring with Big Mac and emailing with Josephat everything has been amazing. The hotels/Lodges/staff & experiences are first class. Our guide/driver John has been fantastic, ensuring we got to see everything on our wishlist, including my husband's dream to see full grown male lion, we saw two together on our last game drive this evening just before returning to the Lodge. The photos we have (thousands) will be treasured and talked about often. This has been one of the best experiences ever! If I could give more than 5 stars, I'd give them 10⭐ Highly recommend Big Mac Kenya!
Amazing guide John who really varws for his customers and loves animals very much. Never hesitant to fullfil wishes of customers. Can just recommend.
It was an amazing tour. We spent six day with excellent experience, and I encourage people to join this tour in the future. The driver named Danielle is great. He is so kind and helpful.
We just returned home to Utah from a week long spring break Safari trip with Big Mac safari. It was our first time to Africa and it was amazing! Great experience start to finish. Antony went above and beyond to do his best to find the big 5 and it was a success. We saw so many animals and stayed at awesome camps with great service and great food. We’ll recommend BigMac to anyone we know who plans to go to Kenya for a safari!
Excellent Tour and Guide. Lodging and meals were better than expected. We would recommend Big Mac Safari's and recommend you ask for Ben Njuguna as your tour guide. Ben's experience and knowledge of the parks was exceptional. He knew where to look and when to stay and be patient to see the all the animals, not just the Big Five. We were fortunate enough to see not just the Big Five, but the Big Six (The Leopard). Communication before the Safari was excellent. The tour company made sure the hotels and staff were aware of some dietary needs and they were right on time picking us up. We noticed several other tour companies whose guides rushed their customers and did not seem to take the time or energy to show all the beauty of the parks and various animals. We highly recommend Big Mack Safari's to anyone considering a Safari in Kenya.
The hotels were all wonderful. The food outside of the hotels could be better Can do a better job of assigning hotel rooms based on the number of people in the family
Prices were very good for the accomodations and jeep. Joseph, our guide/driver was absolute adorble and amazing. So kind and knowledgeable about animals we saw. He went out of his way to accommodate my picky-eater American 7 year-old for meals while traveling from one park to another. I left my make-up bag at the last lodge and Joseph went back to retrieve it and shipped it to me to my hotel in Zanzibar!!!! I highly recommend this company.
With the help of Magdalena we planned and adjusted the tour after our individual wishes. Even a very spontaneous change of our starting point was no problem. In Nairobi, we were picked up by our driver Omar. Omar spoke English and German fluently and gave us a comfortable feeling. Even though there were far distances to go, Omar was always relaxed and drove us safe and sound from highlight to highlight. With his very good local knowledge, his good connection to other guides, his commitment and particularly outstanding driving skills, he brought us quickly and as close as possible to the top animal spots! Thanks to his deep knowledge of the wildlife and the different resorts, it was not unusual to be the first car in place to track the big cats! Thank you Omar and the whole Bigmac Safaris team for this amazing tour!
This trip was everything we could have hoped for and more! We had Ben as our guide and he was the best we could have asked for! He was great about pointing out the animals and prepping us for what we needed for the day. He made this a no stress, all enjoyment experience. He was also great about answering our questions and giving us advice as we traveled on. The parks themselves have a great view of the diversity of Kenya. The drives themselves were also a great chance to see more of the country (“depending with traffic”) Thank you BigMac and especially Ben for such a great experience. Can’t recommend this enough!
Amazing experience, the luxury safari met the expectations with perfect lodges inside the reserves. We managed to see all the animals including Rhinoceros. Also, our guide was very paciente and as requested spoke the selected language Spanish.
My husband and I went for a 5 day trip covering all the highlights with regards to Safari in Kenya starting with Amboseli and finishing off with Naivasha. Maggie, our tour consultant was extremely professional and accommodating and gave us the best service possible at really good price. Ben was the best tour guide and we got lucky with his expertise he has over 15+ years. I would highly recommend to go with Bigmac Safaris if you want to truly experience an unforgettable and adventurous vacation in Kenya.
We had an incredible beautiful 7 day Safari tour. Magdalene from Big Mac was very helpful and made a wonderful Safari package for our family. Visiting 3 days in Masai Mara, a day on Lake Nakuru, a day at Lake Naivasha and 2 days in Amboseli. She arranged for us very excellent lodges. Some with very stylish Safari tents and in Amboseli a lodge with a magic view on mount Kilamanjaro. We enjoyed the hosptality and friendliness of everone that we met on our trip. Really super organised by Magdalene and always available to help us out with questions and additional requests. Thanks for the help on arranging Covid tests, Jumah the doctor that can for testing us was great fun. A super thank you to Anthony, our driver and guide on this amazing trip. His knowledge, driving skills, good temper, humor and ability to bring us every time so close to all the wild life, to let us experience the 5 five of Africa from so close and so many more animals, it was a super experience.
Incredible safari. Very well organized by the company. Highlight the driver ANTHONY and the guide CLEMENTE. They are very good people and we have seen all the animals perfectly and the explanations great. We will be back in a few years !!!!!!!!!!!!
We really enjoyed our tour and were very happy with the provided accommodation. Magdalene from bigmac was so helpful and easy to work with even during our tour as we wanted to extend our trip from what was initially booked and she was fast n accommodative, and I suggest you stick to the accommodation recommended by her other your trip could turnout sour. Also big up to our guide Anton! He is very very good! Our tour wouldnt have been the same without him so knowledgeable, has a great eye for spotting animals and very patient with us. Thank you for the trip bigmac!!
The experience with Bigmac safari was all we could ask for from a first time safari! We visited Kenya in August and didn't quite know what to expect. The highlight of the trip was Maasai Mara, this place is like no other, but Amboseli is also spectacular. Our driver and guide, George, was the best, he was very thoughtful and attentive and made our trip the best. We spotted the Big 5, but there are plenty, plenty of other beautiful animals, birds and sights to be enjoyed in there three locations. A word of caution, the ride will be bumpy, regardless of the car you're in. The lodgings were ok, the one near Maasai Mara could do with some improvement. Food was very vegetarian-friendly, not so much for you typical carnivore, though. I would like to return one day and spend more days in Maasai Mara, I left a little piece of my heart there.
The experience we had with Bigmac Africa doing a Safair for the first time was amazing!! Our guide Anthony was the best, always helpful and the best driver. During all the game drives we were able to see a lot of animals and the landscape of Kenya was beautiful. The overall services on the hotels, the driving and the car was very good and we were super happy and enjoy a lot our trip. Magdalene was very helpful and patient with us.
when I started planning safari, I contacted around 7tour companies and that's how I landed on Bigmac Africa safaris, Christine was my contact person, she would respond very fast to all my questions,we booked 6days safari in a 4x4 jeep.I paid a deposit via card and cleared the balance on arrival, my guide was Michael, he was the best, we were able to see all the big 5 in the first 2days! I would recommend Bigmac to everyone who want to da a safari in Kenya.
Bigmac met and exceeded all expectations I had for my first African Safari! Across 5 game drives at 3 different parks, we saw more than 50 species of animals and birds and also visited a Maasai village which was a very unique and enriching experience. We had an EXCELLENT driver/guide Johnny who was knowledgeable, personable and a great driver - we were one of the few vehicles that never got stuck in the muddy paths of Masai Mara after unusual dry-season rainfall. Pros: - Johnny knew Masai Mara National Reserve "like the back of his hand" and found so many animals, and his patience during our full-day drive rewarded us with our first lion sighting, a dream come true for me. He did everything he could to make sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. - The touring vans had outlets for charging small electronics! This was totally unexpected and a huge bonus. - Price!!! For what we experienced this safari is a TREMENDOUS value, great for first-time visitors wanting a taste of Kenya. Everything is included, the only extra money you need to bring is for souvenirs, snacks (many gas station stops along the way) and tips for waitstaff and the guide. Things to be Aware Of: (None of these are the fault of Bigmac, just FYI) - The drives between parks are long and torturous, from 4 hours (Nairobi to Masai Mara) to 7+ hours (Nakuru to Amboseli). The van isn't the most comfortable especially if you are a larger person like me, but be sure to bring some music and good headphones to pass the time. But the positive of traveling by road is you get to see all of Kenya, how people live and the vast difference between the run down strip malls and the beautiful countryside. - The drive into Masai Mara is EXTREMELY bumpy, and rough! It's about 75-90 minutes of herky-jerky toss and turn driving. If you are easily motion sick it may be an issue, but it's the only way into the reserve by road! - The food is mediocre and fairly similar day-to-day, served buffet-style at all of the lodging locations. Usually 2-3 vegetable/potato options and 2-3 meat stews or curries and a soup. AA Amboseli Lodge had by far the best food and most variety. In conclusion this safari was the greatest and most memorable experience of my life, you will not go wrong if you choose the Johnny at Bigmac Africa Safaris!
If you are considering a safari in Kenya, I cannot say enough good things about this company. I was undecided and struggling with which way to go, which company to choose and was super glad I chose this one! From the quick and honest responses to my MANY questions to the very good service, they were the best choice for me. Magdalene was very helpful in making me feel comfortable with my decisions and guiding me to the best trip for me. John was the best driver we could have asked for! He was skillful, quick to understand and very good at getting us to the right spot , whether finding the animals, best picture or secret discoveries. We were the only van that NEVER got stuck even though we were in the thick grasses and wet spots with all the others. John listened to our wishes and was perfect in helping them come to fruition. We got to see all of the big five, even found a cheetah in Amboselli as well as in Masai Mara. Saw at least 30 different species of birds as well as the flamingos in both Lake Nakuru and Amboselli. As a single traveler, I felt cared for and was always considered in decisions as to what to do next. A perfect experience!
Beautiful places (especially the Masai Mara) where we saw all the animals of the savannah. Our driver and guide Isaac was organized, reliable and considerate. We were lucky (or maybe they paired us according to age?) to find a beautiful company on the same page that made the trip even more fun. We chose the 'middle range accommodation' and the lodges were really good (except for the one near Nakuru Lake). We were also kindly booked the hotel in Nairobi and transfers to/from the airport. Overall excellent value for money. We would definitely recommend Big Mac to friends and family!
Mutter 55 Tochter 21. Das wird ein unvergesslicher Urlaub bleiben. Danke dem Team.
The worst decision of the entire trip to Kenya was to hire this Enterprise. On the first day we paid them ALL the amount they asked for, trusting the Enterprise. MISTAKE, DON'T DO IT. The first day the car was damaged and twice and we went a whole afternoon without our bags and belongings because the car was 36 hours in the workshop, the Enterprise did not want to send us a new car (although they said that if necessary, LIE). At night we were told that the next day at 6am the car and the driver would be at the hotel to be able to do the safari for Masai Mara. What happened? Nobody showed up and we had to fix it ourselves talking to the hotel and BigMac. To our surprise our driver John, had only paid half the day and not the full day to the snowy driver to do the safari. So we had to negotiate and discuss again. And so, day after day. John, the driver, from 4pm wanted to drop us off at the hotel and was leaving, with our gas, to do not know where. Enterprise continually justifies you. And EVERY DAY, EVERY AFTERNOON, we have to discuss with the Enterprise and the driver. Not having ANY freedom to move where we want and when we want. On the sixth day we have a huge argument with John, who doesn't show up all day. We call the Enterprise again and this time they send us a new driver and car, because John won't pick up their phone either. It seems that everything improves with Sthepen, very nice, but NO. Our surprise comes when, after the Abysmal Service and all the problems, the Enterprise asks us for money for the Gasoline (as the driver was almost never with us and did NOT GUN safari with us, who knows how much gas was actually spent?). After ANOTHER great discussion and being able to leave behind once and for all the negative experience, we pay EVERYTHING they ask us to return the shoes of one of us who were in John's car and we had not been without them for 4 days, neither is that important. In short, they only want MONEY and save the most with a Service practically nonexistent because all the solutions are you. they are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and do not trust them at any time, especially neither John nor Marjolein (the one of the office).
The follow-up of the entire trip, from the booking. Our guide Joseph was excellent, punctual, careful and always looking for the animals and the best view. I recommend 100%
We did a safari one week with Bigmac Safari for our honeymoon last October 2019, and it was all perfect, our guide Kenedi was on everything and we could see the big 5!
