We used Morning Star to book our honeymoon to Kenya and they did not disappoint! The communication with Doreen during the booking process and during our trip was amazing we felt so well looked after and she really made our whole trip super easy. Our safari guide Stephen in Amboseli was on time and delivered a great experience. James, our safari guide in the Masai Mara was outstanding. He brought great vibes, knowledge and really went above and beyond to set up a great coffee spot in the Masai Mara as he knew we would love it! The staff at Kibo Lodge and Mara Maisha were so friendly and welcoming we loved our stay at both lodges. And our final stay at Swahili beach was the perfect end to a brilliant honeymoon. Thank you Doreen, Stephen and James!

We went on a 7-day Safari trip to Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. Alice from MorningStar provided excellent service - very prompt and thorough follow ups, attention to detail and providing options as we had some date changes to be incorporated initially. Timothy was our driver-cum-guide and he is a very skillful driver and very knowledgeable about the various animals/birds, and knew exactly where to stop to capture the best views of the wildlife. We had an amazing experience during this trip and would highly recommend MorningStar Tours and Travels.
I don't know where to begin to explain how great Morningstar Tour safari was. Given that we are a fairly demanding family, who travel a lot and take care of every detail in our travel planning, Morningstar has packed all these characteristics into one unforgettable safari. It went well beyond our expectations: David the driver, thanks to his long experience, took us inside the Masai Mara and Amboseli parks in the less crowded corners. We managed to see crocodiles and hippos swimming in the river, hyenas eating in packs, elephants washing, and then pink flamingos, cheetahs, lionesses... The booked accomodations welcomed us as friends, we never had problems to eat even if we arrived late, the rooms of the hotels elegant and functional, there was never a single thing out of place. Even the boat trip to Kisite Marine Reserve was a surprise: a fantastic day spent spotting dolphins and swimming with thousands of colorful fish. It will be hard for us to forget this holiday and if we ever return to Kenya, Morningstar Tour Safari will still be our choice 💚
Super responsive, clear with their communication, and attentive to every single detail. The whole organization was top-notch! A special shoutout to our guide, Agustin—what a legend! He is so warm, cheerful, and friendly. We learned so much from him, enjoyed great conversations, and he knows all the best tips and tricks for the parks. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat and will definitely be passing their name along!
We ve experienced a fantastic trip in Kenia. The organization went smoothly from the first contact. Clear, swift communication. The driver, Julius, was very gentle, knowledgeable and caring. We can only recommend this organization!
The safari was excellently organized. The tour operator was, as always, reliable and well organized. Our guide, Rono, was outstanding, always professional, very friendly, and an exceptionally skilled and safe driver. He had a great eye for finding wildlife and was always patient, giving us plenty of time to enjoy special sightings and take photos. I thoroughly enjoyed the safari experience. The accommodations were also very nice, although the safari itself was the highlight for me. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour and especially guide Rono.
Our safari in the Masai Mara was unforgettable thanks to our exceptional guide, Rono. His knowledge of wildlife and tracking skills led us to incredible sightings — including four of the Big Five — all while ensuring our safety and comfort. He positioned the vehicle perfectly for photos, never rushed the experience, and shared meaningful insights about the ecosystem and local culture. Professional, attentive, and respectful of the land, he made the trip truly extraordinary. I highly recommend Rono and Morning Star to anyone visiting the Mara.
We booked a 5day safari for our family with 2 big kids. The communication with Dennis during booking process was great, he is responsive and very flexible. We were happy with the itinerary, the booked lodges. Our guide, Alex was very knowledgeable, was always looking for the best spots to view the animals. We saw the big 5 as well, and generally the whole safari was a life time-experience. Will definitely come back, and have our next safari with Morningstar. Do not hesitate to book 😊!!
We visited three national parks with very different ecosystems in Kenya: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli. The experience was absolutely incredible, and we felt extremely happy and satisfied with this trip. Communication with Morningstar was fast and smooth, and the planning was always adapted to our preferences. Dennis was very helpful, attentive, and responsive throughout the entire process. What truly made our tour perfect, however, was our driver and guide, Mwololo (Steven). He was excellent, his driving was very efficient and we always felt safe with him. He is also amazing at spotting wildlife: we saw almost all the animals you can possibly see (the only one we missed was the leopard, and we were told no one had seen one in the previous three days). Mwololo patiently answered all our questions and helped us understand Kenya, its people, and its flora and fauna much better. His knowledge and kindness made a huge difference. The hotels booked by Morningstar were all excellent, very close to nature, with comfortable rooms and beds. The food at all the hotels was also very good and exceeded our expectations. Lastly, we want to thank Morningstar from the bottom of our hearts for their help when we lost our passports. Both Mwololo and Dennis went above and beyond to help us locate them and organize transportation so we could receive them in time before our next flights. Thank you so much, we truly don’t know what we would have done without you.
This was our first ever Safari, Dennis was hands on from the initial contact to tailor make the most ideal package for us. Timothy, our guide, was the real star of the holiday! Always available, reliable and really went the extra mile to ensure the best experience for us, and boy he did!! We could not have wished for anything more! Car was spacious and kept clean, accomodation were also really good overall. 5 stars on every field guys, thank you for planning the safari that we will never forget.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfectly planned Kenya–Tanzania safari — thank you Denis & Morning Star Our 6-day Kenya and Tanzania safari (October) with Morning Star Tours & Travel was our honeymoon, first anniversary, and my husband’s birthday trip, and it turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our lives. From the very beginning, Denis, who planned and coordinated the entire trip for us, ensured everything was seamless, thoughtful, and personalised. Every detail — from routes and stays to guides and timing — reflected careful planning and genuine care. ⸻ Day 1–2: Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya) Stay: Basecamp Masai Mara Guide: Tim (Masai Mara driver/guide) Our safari began in Masai Mara, and right from the first half-day game drive, the experience exceeded expectations. We spotted the Big Three on day one itself, which immediately set the tone for the journey. Over the next two days (half-day + full-day game drives), Tim ensured incredible wildlife sightings: • Large prides of lions, including cubs • Elephants, zebras, cheetahs • A rare leopard sighting in Masai Mara • Crocodiles near the Great Migration river crossing point • A peaceful bush lunch in the middle of the forest, surrounded by zebras Even when his duty hours were over, Tim patiently stopped so we could enjoy our last moments in Masai Mara — including watching 12–13 giraffes standing just a few metres away on the road. His patience, local knowledge, and understanding of wildlife made the experience truly special. A special birthday surprise Because this trip included my husband’s birthday, I had requested something special. Denis beautifully coordinated with Basecamp Masai Mara to arrange a birthday cake and a traditional Maasai dance. It was a heartfelt surprise and one of the most memorable moments of our trip. My husband absolutely loved it. ⸻ Day 3: Crossing into Tanzania & Northern Serengeti Stay: Untamed Migration Camp Guide: Jackson (Serengeti driver/guide) We crossed the Kenya–Tanzania border by road — a long journey, but everything was handled smoothly. From the Tanzania side, Jackson took over, and he was outstanding throughout. Jackson’s vehicle was extremely comfortable and well-equipped (charging points, refrigerator — perfect for long drives and camera gear). He encouraged us to experience local cuisine, and we shared a relaxed lunch at a small local restaurant under a tree — simple, authentic, and memorable. At Untamed Migration Camp, we truly felt like we were living inside the jungle: • Elephants walked past our tents • We heard hyenas, zebras, and lions through the night • Early mornings came with wildlife right outside • The food was excellent — hot, fresh, and local • Safety was taken very seriously, with staff escorting us after dark ⸻ Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park Stay: Serengeti Classic View Camp Guide: Jackson Serengeti exceeded every expectation. Highlights included: • A pride of lions right after leaving camp • Five cheetahs, including the unforgettable three cheetah brothers attempting a hunt — a true “paisa vasool” moment • Three leopards in a single day (two on trees, one on the ground, very close) • Massive elephant herds The most unforgettable sight was a huge pride of around 25–26 lions, including tiny cubs playing, with the sunset behind them — something we will remember for life. Even though we were running late, Jackson patiently waited so we could enjoy the sunset while sipping wine, surrounded by lions, zebras, wildebeest, and ostriches — a magical moment. Jackson never rushed us. He gave us time to absorb every sighting, continuously searched for wildlife and birds, and shared deep insights. Being originally from the Kilimanjaro region, his knowledge added immense value. One evening, he even joined us for dinner, where we spoke about culture, food, festivals, and life in India and Africa — making the experience very personal. ⸻ Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania) Stay: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge Ngorongoro Crater was the perfect way to end the safari. Inside the crater, we visited the alkaline Lake Magadi, where we saw flamingos, and the biggest highlight — spotting two rhinos, which is considered very rare and special. We also saw a lion resting on a tree, who later woke up and looked straight at us — a surreal moment. A special mention to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge — the food here was excellent, with a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. We especially loved the customisable lunch tiffin, where we could select what we wanted from the available options. Even the packed lunch was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. We would highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Ngorongoro Crater or nearby areas. ⸻ Final thoughts This trip wasn’t just a safari — it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and Denis and the Morning Star team made it exceptional. Our honest recommendations: • Spend at least 3 days in Masai Mara • Don’t rush Serengeti — it deserves time • End with Ngorongoro for a complete experience • Choose a team that genuinely cares — like Morning Star Thank you, Denis and Morning Star Tours & Travel, for giving us unforgettable memories of our first Africa trip. We will wholeheartedly recommend you in India and beyond, and we can’t wait to travel with you again very soon! ♥️
As the title says, Morning Star tours is the Greatest Of All Time! From the time of first contact, Doreen was available to answer my many questions by email or WhatsApp. She made great suggestions and she ended up tailoring the tour to our liking in terms of pick time and location, places to visit, accommodation choice, number and timing of game walks and game drives and other little add-ons we requested. Our guide, Stephen Mwolo was a gentleman. He is another GOAT. He was always punctual, polite, knowledgeable, patient, flexible with the schedule and has eyes for animals like an eagle! Within 24hrs at Masai Mari he found us a fresh lion kill, a cheetah, a leopard and of course the more common antelopes, warthogs, rhinos, crocodiles, ostriches, hyenas, etc. He was listening in on the VHF radio in our land cruiser and making a beeline for the current highlights of the park. We learnt about his Bantu culture but he knows pretty much everything about the Masai people, statistics about the park, and detailed information about every animal and bird that we saw along the way. Overall the 4 day/3 night tour far exceeded our expectations. I compared the pricing with 5 companies with almost identical itineraries and Morning Star excelled in price, responsiveness and flexibility. I couldn’t be happier with our choice of tour company. To top it off, Doreen would check in on us by WhatsApp at the end of each day making sure things went smoothly and we were entirely satisfied with their service. I call her my vacation mom! She is the female GOAT! If we ever have the opportunity to come back to safari in Kenya we will definitely be going with Morning Star. They made us feel like family.
The safari was really well organised and super easy from start to finish — we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Alice planned a great itinerary for us and different options we could consider which wa super helpful. Each day had a great mix of drives, stops, and different things to see. Our guide Alex was awesome — really attentive and knew exactly where to go for the best views and animal sightings. An all round amazing experience!
The overall trip was an amazing experience to remember. The cost of the safari provided is really reasonable and our tour operator - Alice was always accommodating. The communication was very good and she even upgraded the hotel we stayed the last 2 nights. As for our guide/driver Timothy I don't have enough good words to say about him. A very capable and professional guide with lots of experience on safaris and quick witted enough to get us to the right places at the right times in order to elevate our experience. All the while having the knowledge to respond to our many questions and being cheeky enough of a driver to save us many hours in traffic. This trip wouldn't be the same without him. Would recommend this trip 100%.
Our experience with Morning Star tours was an amazing one. Our tour operator, Alice, was really kind and helpful. She was texting back really fast answering any questions we had at any time of the day. Timo, our Safari guide driver, was really experienced. He knew all the good spots for animal watching and thanks to him we saw all the Big Five and many more animals. Everything was really organized and well scheduled. I totally recommend it!
From the moment Morningstar replied to my initial query I knew I was in safe hands. Alice provided me with a very professionally made proposal which clearly listed out the costs and itinerary. She answered all of my questions and queries (of which there were many) quickly and put my mind at ease. She was able to tweak the itinerary when I said we'd like to end our holiday at Diani Beach and suggested the train from Emali to Mombasa and booked us a taxi at the other end. This saved us hours of travel time and so glad she suggested it. Once on safari Julius was our guide. He was brilliant and without him I don't think we'd have seen any animals! We saw loads of lions in the Maasai Mara, 12 rhino's in Lake Nakuru and elephants as far as the eye could see in Amboseli Park - he just knew where to take us. He answered all the questions we had, never rushed us when we were looking at something particularly exciting (in my case elephants), was always on time and made the whole safari fabulous. Morningstar also upgraded our accommodation in the Maasai Mara which was a complete surprise and I can't thank them enough for this. It was absolutely beautiful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Morningstar for your safari in Kenya.
So where do I begin? An African safari is the stuff of dreams, often planned months or even years in advance. We, however, decided in July to travel in August, with just a month to plan what turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Our journey took us to Lake Naivasha for a day, Lake Nakuru National Park for another, and then three days in the Masai Mara. We spent one day in the Mara Triangle and two days in the Greater Mara. Each of these safaris was unique in what it offered, and the variety of experiences has only left us wanting to return to Africa again. I began by reading reviews on Tripadvisor and Safaribookings and contacted four to five companies. In the end, I narrowed it down to Morningstar and another very highly reputed operator with nearly flawless reviews. What tipped the scales in Morningstar’s favor was one person: Joysharon. She was prompt, flexible, and genuinely willing to work with both our budget and our preferred lodges. Most importantly, she was always accessible — whether on WhatsApp, email, or phone. I asked her countless questions, and she was consistently patient, kind, and helpful. She stayed in touch before, during, and even after our trip, which truly set her apart. Payments were also easy and stress-free. Unlike many others, Morningstar never pressured us to pay too early. I was able to settle the balance just a couple of days before departure. To the Morningstar team, in Joysharon you have a gem, and I hope you keep hold of her. One of my requests while booking was to have Alex Masila as our guide along with a reliable vehicle. Looking back, that was the best decision we made. On an African safari, your guide makes or breaks the experience, and Alex made ours unforgettable. Traveling with two toddlers and two senior citizens, we needed someone understanding and accommodating, and Alex was exactly that and more. From the very first day, it was clear that Alex doesn’t just guide safaris; he lives and breathes wildlife. A father of three himself, I could imagine what an inspiring mentor he must be at home, passing down his passion and knowledge to the next generation. His depth of understanding was extraordinary. From animal behavior and anatomy to birdlife, landscapes, and even the subtle differences between regions, Alex brought every sighting to life. With him, it was never just about spotting animals, it was about truly seeing and understanding them. Over five days, Alex’s network and rapport with other guides ensured we never missed a moment. Even at busy sightings with many vehicles, he had an uncanny ability to position us perfectly, often in the best and closest spot. That personal touch transformed each encounter into something special. In hindsight, choosing Morningstar was absolutely the right call. It was not only because of their responsiveness but because of the people behind it. Joysharon and Alex made the wilderness feel like home, and for that, we will always be grateful.
My safari in Kenya with Morningstar was absolutely amazing! The whole trip was well-organized, with great hotels and everything running smoothly. The trip felt authentic and not overly touristy. We met our guide, Willi, on the first day when he picked us up from the hotel and right away I could tell we were in good hands. Willi really went the extra mile on the game drives making sure we got to fully experience the magic of the Masai Mara — all while being respectful to the animals. Willi’s also super knowledgeable. He really entertained our curiosity and shared so much about the wildlife and local culture. It turned into such a cool learning experience! All in all such a memorable trip. Morning Star & Willi were incredible — thanks to him, we managed to see all of the Big Five at the Masai Mara.
Communication was fast and professional, with any questions answered quickly. I loved the detailed agenda, tips for packing and guidance I received from the team on visas. It was a pleasure working with them and they made me feel very comfortable as a solo female traveler. My driver was Willy, the ultimate professional who gave me the best experience I could have wished for! We were together for 5 days and he was always very kind and patient, answering the millions of questions I had. He is so knowledgeable about the parks, with great contacts, and works tirelessly to get you to the best spots to see the animals. We saw all the big 6, and managed to get so close, it was truly a magical experience. I wouldn’t hesitate twice in choosing Morning Star again and definitely would love to safari with Willy again. Their vehicles are excellent too !!!
MorningStar is a group that was about to take us on a Safari in Kenya when we suddenly faced a nightmarish situation. Young men Dennis and Alex were ready to pick us up to go on a safari. We were a group of six and our average age was 75. One person in our group, slumped and fell as he was coming to join us at the reception. He had a cardiac arrest and passed away in the corridor. Everything went topsy- turvy. Dennis and Alex came over and immediately told us they will take care of everything and we didn’t have to do anything. Exactly according to their words, the employees of Morning Star were with us from the first day until they put us in the plane back to the US. Morning star employees said they will take care of every detail for us and told us we can continue to stay in the same hotel and do not have to worry about anything. Sure enough we did not have to hassle with anything. They took care of the formalities in the funeral home, procuring the death certificate, informing the US Embassy. At the same time they were talking to us and helping us to process our grief. Alex and Dennis took on the whole responsibility with a smile. The MorningStar employees made everything easy, smooth and efficient. I recommend them from the bottom of my heart for any group that wants to go on a Safari. These are great guys who make sure you are in comfort throughout and will, I am sure, will give you an unforgettable Safari experience!
We did a 5 day 4 night safari in August with Alex Masila (both driver and guide) who has 15 years of safari experience. We spent 1.5 days in Lake Nakuru and 2.5 days in Masai Mara and saw the big 5 and countless other game and bird as well. Learned a lot about all the wildlife we saw. The 4x4 toyota was very comfortable and spacious especially since we had a private tour and the roof popped open as well. Wanda was very communicative over WhatsApp when we were planning and booking so it didn’t take long to secure the dates and accommodations.
Well we don't know where to start !! All the way through my husband booking and planning this once in a lifetime trip Alice from morning star has been absolutely amazing sorting out every possible place to visit and explore. Alice was outswhen we had a issue with the ETA visa and without her and her manager's inpwe would have had to start our trip a few days late but with their input we were only 12 hours late and able to start our Safari on the day planned, we genuinely can't thank her and her team enough. The airport pick-up was with the lovely Alice, happy friendly Carol and the lovely driver Simon ( the smiling machine) I believe they call him, he truly lives up to his name 😀. Our transfer to our Safari guide was done by the lovely Augustine another happy and informative guide/driver a pleasure to be with. Now to the piece de resistance our tour guide ALEX !! This man can spot a animal miles away and his knowledge of Kenya and their animals is so much better than Google itself. This man is a walking encyclopedia, nothing was too much trouble for him, he was funny, happy and totally charming and we have made a friend for life. You cannot choose a better tour operator than Morning Star as they are the best and you cannot beat PERFECTION!!
Morningstar were fab. I'm so glad we booked with them - Alice in head office was amazing. She helped us plan the perfect break at a really great cost. I must of changed the plan 10 times and nothing was too much trouble. Everything went so smoothly and there were no hiccups at all. Willis, our driver was excellent - knew the parks like the back of his hand, always knew where to spot the animals and went the extra mile to make our trip perfect. 10/10 would recommend.
Simply Superb…. And Amazing….! 5/5 We (family of 4), have just spent the most amazing week on Safari with Morning Star Safaris in Kenya. Dennis did the most amazing job putting together a customised itinerary for us, which included game reserves (Masai Mara/ Amboseli), Lakes (Nakuru/ Naivasha), cycling in Hell’s Gate, a walking safari as well as meeting and spending time with a Masai tribe. Morning Star provided a brilliant personalised brochure including a breakdown of all of the costs, and Dennis himself almost always responded within a couple of hours, we don’t think he ever slept! Thank you Dennis…Our then there was our Guide… Alex! What a legend! He met us at the airport in a brand new Land Cruiser and took us on the most amazing adventure… Alex has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the the parks, the animals, the birds, the fauna as well as a forensic knowledge of Kenyan culture, history, politics, music, movies and sport… his passion, energy, enthusiasm and humour were infectious, it felt like he was a member of the family by the end of the trip, not just our safari tour guide… thank you Alex! You’re a legend…and thank you Morning Star for helping make our trip to Kenya, the trip of a lifetime.
erfect planning, perfect execution, perfect and prompt communication. Our guide Alex - we could not wish for a better guide. Very friendly, knowledgeable; our Safari went exactly according to the schedule ; he was very keen to show us maximum possible on the Safari, but yet taking care we have time to relax and enjoy the moments (family of 4, kids 14 and 6) ; everyone had really good time.
Fellow citizens who brushed over this comment are advised that the company was chosen carefully and that we had paid the full amount before arriving in Kenya, but on the last day of our trip, the morning of our departure from Maserara to Nairobi Airport, we were told by the hotel that Morningstar had not paid the hotel fee and therefore we were not allowed to leave. After Alice, Morningstar's docking officer, disappeared at the time and we were not contacted by telephone/WeChat, etc., it was only after we had to advance ourselves nearly $7,000 for the room that Morningstar's people “came late”, saying that they had an emergency ahead of them and could not deal with the emergency in time, and promising to return our advance. After returning home on October 5th until October 30th, we still haven't received a refund! The Morningstar people were full of lies, saying one minute that money had been paid, the next that they were still talking to the driver about the final cost, and we were talking to the bank, and there was no sign of them sending money at all. If you don't want to make advances for a scam company, or have recourse to a foreign country where you almost can't return home, don't choose this company. They're failing us! A very bad experience.
I can only advise. Accurate, honest, serious and punctual! Trips customized according to needs, let’s say that thanks to them you can go on a safari forgetting the Italian travel agencies (much more expensive). You book a flight on nairobi and then organize a holiday according to your needs. In our case we also had the transfer booked by train from nairobi to Mombasa to do some sea.
